Java patched version in jnlp
hello.. I want to ensure that my app users work with a certain java version
I know the <j2se version="1.6+"/> tag in the jnlp file but... what if wanted to ensure a java patched version.. for example 1.6u35 ?
greetings
jedo
I think that can be done. See the resources link off this page. http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/technotes/guides/javaws/developersguide/contents.html
I know this is the Java 7 docs, but do not think that is changed in 7.

When will Apple release a patched version of Java JRE 6 for Snow Leopard?
Hello:
No one here can answer that question. We are all users. Apple may or may not do anything about Java in the future.

When I download jar file to disk I can run it with command java -jar and it works fine.
After downloading jar I made some tests changing line <jar href="http://192.168.79.33:7070/resources/applet/formeditor.jar" /> in Jnlp file.
When I changed it to <jar href="formeditor.jar" />, and have jar in folder it works.
When I changed it to <jar href="file:///C:/formeditor.jar"> it is not working (same exception).
In every case jar is download correctly and it pass verifying.
can anyone help?

can anyone help?Search the bugs database to see if someone else already reported this; if not create a new bug entry. Whatever mistake you could make, you should not be getting a NullPointerException as a result so this is at the very least a bug in the error handling of webstart.
But just some observations to try and see if you can make a difference (which is added input for your bug report). If I check JNLP examples, I see that the url specified is usually without a protocol, so it could be like this:
<jar href="/resources/applet/formeditor.jar" />The JNLP should be on the host that you service the jar from, so Webstart can fill in the host information for itself.
Also you provide a main-class; if the jar manifest specifies a main-class (and it should) you don't need to specify it in your JNLP file. -

Sorry for the delay. I was on vacation.
Which environment variable are you referring to?
JAVA_HOME is set to C:\j2sdk1.4.2_09.
I am using j2sdk1.4.2_09.
Only port changes I tried was

I tried with and without the # .
Both had the same results.
I have given below the last few statememts from the sapinst log file
Any help to solve my problem will be greatly appreciated.

Sql*net patch version 2.3.2.1.12 down load
While I am migrating 7.3 database to 8i, system is asking for install sql net patch version 2.3.2.1.12. How can I get this patch. Is it possible to download.
Thanks/Rgds
BijuI know that I should first download and apply the AD related patches separetly. But, what is the best practice for downloading the rest of them? How does an experienced Applications DBA handle this kind of situation? I was trying to use the Patching Wizard on OAM, but the request errored out stating that "****No codeline specified". Where do I specify this when I download a list of patches? I just pasted a comma separated list of 249 patches into the PatchList field on Download Patches page. Please see these docs.

Our ABAP kernal is at 175. I have downloaded the kernal and patches for JAVA. JAVA kernal which I have downloaded is 185. Can I apply 185 to JAVA or it shold be of the same level of ABAP.
Thanks in Advance..Hello Nick,
there is no need for ABAP and JAVA kernel versions to be same
But I would prefer to keep both the stacks at same level

ABAP stack present.: true
The execution ended in error.
Cannot initialize application data.
Error while detecting start profile for instance with ID _s.
Looks like the problem is above 1
Do the following. This should resolve the issues.
1. If your dialog instance are also having the Java stack then do one thing move your profile folder to some other name and create a new profile folder with the name "profile".
Copy only the central instance profiles Default, Instance and start profile.
Then give a try.
2. If you do not have the java instance in Dialog instance still do the same thing what I have described. move the current profile folder and create the new folder with the name "profile" and copy the profiles Default, Instance and start profile.
Chances are the JSPM is reading some other profile while starting the JSPM.

After installing Java 7 version 21 Safari no longer sees Java
The Computer is running 10.7.5 fully patched. After installing Java 7, version 21 from Oracle Java and VPN no longer work. Everything looks OK in the Oracle Java control panel and Safari does not have Java plug-ins disabled. Removing and reinstalling Java have not solved the problem. Ive also went to http://javatester.org/version.html done the Java tests. However it does not even show that the Java plug-in is active or for that matter inactive. Any idea's other then not to use Java that I must use for VPN and WebEx?
I have the same problem. Called apple today since this seems to be a problem with Safari. Apple wanted 63 USD to help me solve this. Been trying to figure it out for a couple of days now but no luck.

How to revert back the Java patch Upgrde
Hi,
I did the Java patch upgrade from 7.00.13.0 to 7.00.22.0 .
But I want to revert back few components to the older version .Is it possible?
Thanks in advance ..Hi,
doing an upgrade is a one way. About "revert back few components"
In theory you would start with SP13 and only install the SP22 version of what you want to upgrade, but: That's not a good idea. Depending on what you want to keep at SP13, SP22 won't work.

What level of Java patch should be applied With ABAP patch level 19
Hi All,
I have a newly installed Netweaver 2004 s XI system. the support pack level is
SAP_ABA 0019
SAP_BASIS 0019
PI_BASIS 0019
ST-PI 0016
SAP_BW 0019
ST-A/PI 0000
What should be the level for Java package and JSPM should be applied. Can we apply level 17 or should ABAP and JAVA be of the same level??
Regards,
PriyaHI,
Actually now my Java version and all java patches are on the level 19. But my IGS is on level 13. The highest level available is also only 16. So do i need to upgrade my IGS as it will require kernel upgrade or level 13 is ok?

i really hope someone can help me with it because i really need javaI followed that and Java .jnlp files still do not work after downloading them manualy and double-click. What's next?
Java -version show the right version.
I need to get this fixed as it is thrid day when after applying OsX updates things got broken. I would prefer to have Java functional and be exposed to security risk than not having working at all.
How do I fix my Java .jnlp when I have all updates for 10.6.8 and running Safari 5.1.10 ?
I do not want to upgrade as I am scared that other things will break.
Please help. -
Does anyone know if there are plans to develop a LMS Prime 4.2 software patch for the recent Java client updates? Not surprisingly our Topoogy Services feature doesn't work with client side Java patches applied
Hi Bryan,
Uninstall Java from your client machine, Launch topology on the client machine and let LMS decide the best version. It would choose the version as suggested by Afroj and then hopefully you would be able to launch topology at your client site.
Get back in case you still are facing problems.

JSPM Error while applying As Java Patch to PI 7.1
Dear All
I am facing an issue when trying to patch new Pi 7.1 Ehp1 Java patch through JSPM
steps i did
. since the download manger is not working for us i click on the link and down load all the patches to windows machine ( Installed machine is AIX)
all the patches were downloded in SCA.zip " LMNWATOOLS04_0-20003137.SCA.zip" format which is not recognizable through JSPM
i rename all the file taking off zip extension "LMNWATOOLS04_0-20003137.SCA" , but now the initiating is working but it throws an error saying to revise all the selected patches?
" Error occured, while reading refactoring configuration from SDU file /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in/ESREGBASIC04_0-20003135.SCA. java.io.IOException: java.io.IOException: "
how can i deploy these patches comes with SCA.zip format ? i know only SCA can be deployed , but since i have downloaded them directly it converted to SCA.zip
please advice me how to resoleve this urgently
appreciate your coperation with regard to this
Buddhike> how can i deploy these patches comes with SCA.zip format ? i know only SCA can be deployed , but since i have downloaded them directly it converted to SCA.zip
It is fine just to delete the .zip at the end. The issue has another reason.
Have you patched the JSPM before you applied the patches? -
SAP NetWeaver 2004s Java Trial Version on Windows Vista
Hello everyone,
I have been trying to install SAP NetWeaver 2004s Java Trial Version for three days now on Windows Vista Ultimate. Since Microsoft has a new security infrastructure implemented in Windows Vista, it is not that easy to install SAP NetWeaver 2004s Java Trial Version. Windows Vista has some sort of User-account security. In summary, in Windows Vista, you are logged in as an administrator, but when it comes to change system files or do registry entries, you or respectivly third party programs (e.g. SAP NetWeaver 2004s Java Trial Version installer) has no rights to do things like registry entries. There is a possibility to rightclick on the setup.bat file and start it in administrative mode, but that doesn't change a thing.
I hope you guys get my problem.

erikWindows Vista isn't on the support matrix of SAP Netweaver 2004s!
you may play arround with regedit and chaning the security settings of SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DPS key. SAPinst is doing a KEY_ALL_ACCESS when enumerating the services registry.
Starting with Vista some registry values have special protection which do not allow administrators to open them with KEY_ALL_ACCESS.
