Javafx use jmf and capture audio device

Hello, I noticed a problem with the use JavaFX and Java Media Framework (JMF), in a project javafx call Java classes using JMF, but are not recognized PC audio devices, in fact when I executed 's the code CaptureDeviceManager.getDeviceList (null), displays the error: "could not commit protocolPRefixList", without recognizing any audio device. Instead I call if my application using JMF, outside of a JavaFX project, the devices are found and everything works properly, perhaps this problem depends on the security settings of JavaFX, or inability to use JavaFX is that jmf interfaces with audio and video devices?
thanks for the help

I'd use jmf and javafx but it was not for capture devices.
If you use jmf there are native libraries.
The thing i found was about the java.library.path wich is overriden when you start javafx that jmf can't load approriate libs.
Try to compare the System.getProperties for java and javafx then you should find where is the problem.

  • Using JMF to capture audio from a JAR

    Hi
I have a working application that captures audio and does some other stuff with it. The problem occurs when I export it as a JAR file - it can't find any capture devices. I have deduced that the reason for this is that it can't find the jmf.properties file that's in the lib folder along with jmf.jar. So, is there a way that I can make it find the jmf.properties file? I've tried putting it in the manifest and including it in the JAR itself but unsurprisingly that didn't help.
    Thanks in advance...
    Rob

You can't use iDVD for that, but if you're willing to jump through a number of hoops, search the forum for threads about editing DVDs. Once you have ripped and converted the video file, you can extract the audio from that with iMovie (if you converted it into a DV Stream file).

  • Not able to recognize any video/audio devices using jmf and java soun

    Hi ,
I need one help from your side.
Here I am expecting some clarifications from you. Before that let you my environement.
    My working environment :
Eclipse tool and added jmf jar to my project I did not do any thing more.
If any thing I need to do just let me know. My target platform is MAC & UBUNTU.
    Please bare with my questions.
    1) I am not able to recognize any video/audio devices using jmf and java sound APIs on My system.
( I checked with the app mentioned in the http://www.java-forums.org/new-java/11201-jmf-cannot-connect-device.html )
Do we need any administrives rights for our working PC.
What is the procedure/ setup I need to follow from a java application to enable particular audio/video device since I dont about end-user system setup right.
If possible send some sample code to recognize /r detect audio device ( voice input ). It should run on both MAC and UBUNTU.
    2) I run the one sample audio recording application of this link (http://www.jsresources.org/examples/SimpleAudioRecorder.java.html) which is provided by YOU.
I got output audio file and able to hear voice on UBUNTU system but not able to hear voice on MAC system.
I heared that default line in ( audio setup of the sys) is wont take any voice data on MAC.Why I made this stmt means we are getting false when using isSupported methods of JAVA SOUND API.
( like for TragetdataLine ...i,e, all ports are getting false)
I have one sample audio recording app implemented by QUICKTIME API. In this case also he taking audio ftom device only using quicetime API.
With that we are able to record and hear audio ( voice input --> not line in , external device we added some thing like SSB...)
    3) In case of Video capturing DataSource, Streams are implemented by PullBufferDataSource , PullBufferStream intefaces used.
In case of Audio capturing DataSource, Streams are implemented by PushBufferDataSource, PushBufferStream intefaces used.
Can you explain the reasons ? I gone through API but i am not clear.
HOPE I WILL BE CLARIFIED EVERY THING FROM YOU.
    Thanks

  • Problem with  M-JPEG by using JMF and JPEGCodec .

    Hi, there,
I want to implement a M-JPEG using JMF and JPEGCodec, is that possible?(I already been trapped)
My problem is I have a video clip which is a AVI file, the video format is following:
    Video format: RGB, 160x120, FrameRate=14.9, Length=57600, 24-bit, Masks=3:2:1, P
    ixelStride=3, LineStride=480, Flipped.
I already convered a frame to an Image object(video format with JPEG and CVID doesn't work) ,
I can also convert this Image back as a Buffer, It works fine with me .But to use JPEGCodec( provided by com.sun.image.codec.jpeg ) I need to convert an Image to a BufferedImage, I use the following defination:
BufferedImage   bImage = new BufferedImage(frameImage.getWidth(null), frameImage.getHeigh(null),BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB); It seems work, But when I use JPEGImageEncoder to encoder this bImage and save as a jpg file,
    everything is black .
I also need to cast BufferedImage to an Image: frameImage = (Image) bImage; then I convert frameImage back to Buffer. My video clip still running , but every frame now became black .
can someone help me? thanks in advance.

I solved this problem . But I met a new problem.
I converted the above video clip into a JPEG and I want to create a DataSink for it. the messege is:
    Video format: JPEG, 160x120, FrameRate=12.0, Length=3574
    - set content descriptor to: AVI
    - set track format to: JPEG
Cannot transcode any track to: JPEG
Cannot create the DataSink: javax.media.NoDataSinkException: Cannot find a DataS
    ink for: com.sun.media.multiplexer.RawBufferMux$RawBufferDataSource@2b7eea
Transcoding failedHope some Java Experts can help me.
    Regards.

  • *FIXED* No sound and 'No Audio Device' in Control Panel. *FIX

I?m having a problem with my sound. Basically all I get is a system sound, which means no sounds from itunes but the error prompt sounds still play. I?m tempted to say that this is a detection issue because of several things:
-First, when looking in the ?sounds and audio devices? in the control panel I get grayed out selections and a ?no audio device?.
-Secondly, when running the directX diagnostic tool (typing ?dxdiag? in the ?run? window) I get several troubling indications. First under device I have no manufacturer or product ID. Second under drivers I have (copied from dxdiag text file):
    Driver Name: ctaud2k.sys
    Driver Version: 5.2.000.96 (English)
    Driver Attributes: Final Retail
    WHQL Logo'd: Yes
    Date and Size: 8//2006 4:45:38, 499584 bytes
    Other Files:
Seems hunky-doorey but then I have a note at the bottom that reads:
Sound Test Result: Failure at step 3 (DirectSoundCreate): HRESULT = 0x88780078 (No driver)
I have seen another similar post that seemed to have the same problem, but they didn?t provide much information and the fix was to pull out the audio card, run start up, turn it off, and then put it back in and run start up. If this is what needs to be done, could I have a picture or something of what the sound card looks like?
This problem started when I tried to update my sound card and since then my sound has been? possessed? or prone to working at sometimes and then (most of the time)failing at others.
Here is the dxdiag.txt file without the lengthy directShow filters and directx components:

I found that once you reinstall your sound card you need to make sure you hook everything back up correctly.
basically all you need to do is run a start up with your sound card out ofyou computer and then re-run start up with the card back in.

  • CANT USE BLUETOOTH HEADSET AS AUDIO DEVICE

I just got a bluetooth headset today, paired it with my imac, went into teh sound settings, then selected it as my audio input and output device. was working fine all day then all of a sudden it stopped working and no matter what i do it will not show up in the sound setting to let me choose it as a audio device.
It does however show up in bluetooth prefences as connected/paired etc. what can i do to fix this? i am on 10.4.2 with all the latest updates and have the 20" imac.
    thanks

I am experiencing this problem also. Strangely, I had my headset working properly, with no problems at all. Then, for no reason, the headset stopped working. I switched to another bluetooth headset and the new one worked properly. I also used a third headset, but it seems that the system is not properly clearing information about each headset. Now none work at all.
I have deleted all from bluetooth preferences, repaired one. The pairing appears to work properly, but the headset never shows up in the Audio section of System Preferences and cannot be used with Skype. I am at my wits end. I have repaired preferences. Shut down and restarted. Reinstalled Skype. Trashed Skype preferences. You name it I have tried it. I cannot get any of my 3 bluetooth headsets working now.
    Please someone help.

  • Using Flex to capture audio from Flash

    Hi!
I've been trying for a while to figure out how to capture audio from a flash-application (http://www.delorean.se/mixer)
and store it as a mp3-file.
Since I've studied Java for 2 years I thought I'd try and use it to capture the audio but I'm running into problems all the time,
and I've been advised to look up Flex by other Java users.
    So, I got some questions:
Is Flex a good tool to use to capture audio from flash-applications and store the audio as a mp3-file?
Is Flex hard to learn (I've been working with Eclipse for a long time so the IDE shouldn't be a problem and learning another language/framework is always nice)
    Any tips in general?
Any answers would make me very happy!
    Thanks!

physical are closed : how will it managed the queues and overspill queues when target is not present? Also the data dictionary must reflect the primary but If you run capture, then you introduce rules that are not on primary: How ?

  • Using lossless and lossy audio

With hard drive storage now comparatively cheap, I've decided to embark on re-ripping my audio CDs in Apple lossless format for use with the AppleTV hooked up to my hi-fi via optical.
I also want to have MP3/AAC versions for use on my iPhone and other portable devices.
As with SD and HD copies of iTunes purchases (from other posts) there's no easy way to configure iTunes just to offer high quality/HD versions to AppleTV.
What I want to do is have both copies in iTunes but only stream/sync Lossless audio to AppleTV while allowing me to sync iphone with MP3/AAC.
Initially thought I'll just create a Smart Playlist to add Kind contains Lossless, and select that for syncing - trouble is I don't really want to sync the playlist - a) because it won't fit, b) because unless I choose 'Show only synced items' it'll stream all the other stuff anyway unless I manually deselect all the compressed audio which would then render that unavailable for the iPhone syncing.
Smart playlists do allow inclusion of unchecked items however so perhaps I could deselect compressed audio checkboxes and sync a playlist of these to iPhone.
Maybe the best would be just to sync iPhone with a different user account.
I'm sure there's an easy answer to this.
    Time to play a little.
Anyone have any thoughts on how to best accomplish this.

iTunes is not regarded as the best audio ripper even with error correction.
XLD is one of a couple of apps that use AccureatRip, where it will report a confidence level for a bit perfect copy by comparison of checksums from the rip with rips of the same content from other users - you get encouraging stats that the rips is successful or not.
iTunes is simple and does what it does well, but even if there's only a theoretical benefit using XLD I'll do it that way because I only want to do this lossless rip once.
    http://www.accuraterip.com/
    Software:
    http://www.accuraterip.com/software.htm
There are a couple of Mac options - XLD was the first I came across.
Rip is form the creators of the audio converter Max which is good.
Linn audio recommend dbPowerAmp for windows I think.
They've recently decided to stop making CD players:
    http://www.linn.co.uk/gilad_live
Songbook for Mac seems to be a commercial app, but they seem to have software to control the high-end Linn/Naim media players for Mac too.
I often say I'd buy an AppleTv for audio playback alone - it may not be high-end audiophile quality but unlike my audiophile CD player it actually gets used ans sounds pretty good.
    Nice offers here though:
    http://www.linn.co.uk/discovernewmusic
Glad Apple doesn't use daft names like Klimax though

  • No audio (and "no audio device") in WIndows XP on my MacBook Pro 17"

    Greetings,
I just installed Windows XP SP2 on my new MacBook Pro 17" and everything is working smoothly EXCEPT that there's no sound in Windows from the built-in speakers, and in fact the Control Panel reads "No audio device." I have already successfully installed the Boot Camp drivers from my Leopard DVD. I also tried to run the Boot Camp 2.1 update (downloaded directly from the Apple site) but the installer cannot be run and gives error 2762, whatever that is. Finally, I've seen on some forum posts that certain Realtek drivers may fix similar problems on other machine, so I downloaded and installed Realtek R2.27 high definition audio driver but that doesn't seem to have done the trick for me.
I'm guessing this problem could be fixed easily by the correct audio driver but I can't figure out what that is or how to find it. Please help, any advice would be appreciated!

  • Is there any way to use bluetooth and force audio out at the same time?

I have an older treadmill that uses IFit which means a program on my phone controls my treadmill via an aux audio cable. I like using BT headphones so I don't have cords hanging. So...I'm trying to figure some way to either a) have iphone connected physically to treadmill but bt'ing music to my headphones at the same time or b) get iphone to communicate with two different bt devices simultaneously. (Treadmill can also be controlled via BT, but I still need the BT for headphones)
Any ideas would be great. I currently have cable running from treadmill to iphone and headphones via a splitter but it's a LOT of cord hanging which makes things difficult.

No. FaceTime is one on one only.

  • Using JMF with two audio cards

    Hello,
Is it possible to use two audio cards and have JMF address them independently. I'd like to be able to reference one for recording audio and the other for audio playback (simultaneously).
    Thanks,
    Ben

It's definately possible, but you may have to interface with JavaSound to do it.
Theoretically, you should just be able to do javasound://0 for one, and javasound://1 for the other. No guarentees, though. You might have to wrap around JavaSound directly to get that level of control.

  • NEED ADVICES FOR RME HDSPe AIO and (other audio devices)

Hi all! i was wondering if someone have some experience with RME HDSPe AIO card..
I'm thinking about buying one but is the latency for software monitoring (in logic pro) is good ?
any issues on OS X 10.6.5?
Here's my situation..at the moment i'm using the motu 896 hd , everyone knows that this unit is a kick *** for low latency but for converters it is what you get for the money.
I have 2 good pre amps , the Millennia stt-1 and the Amek channel in a box and most of the time I only need 2 channels for live recording. So i'm looking for an interface ,or an audio card ,that will give me good convertion with ultra low latency, i mean like the motu , no problem at 32 buffers when recording my guitar straight to logic with some plugins on a strip.
    I figured out some alternatives:
    -Metric Halo ULN-2:
a bit expensive, with some good pre amps (that i don't need), and it's a firewire interface so what about latency on this unit? and are the converters really worth the extra 1000$ that i will have to spend compare to the RME AIO?
    Apogee Duet:
at the moment , i have this unit at work (really cool sound) but i will bring it home to do more test, but still for latency , motu 896 hd is better...what about the converters of the Duet compare to the RME AIO ?
    Apogee Ensemble:
I forgot the whole idea of getting one since I read in this forum that the latency was painfull..i was really disapointed cause it will have work perfectly with my euphonix mc control..
And I know that it would have been a waste of inserts, in my situation...but still i would have paid for it .
    RME BABYFACE:
too recent to have a clue if it worth the $ but it seems like a good unit.(and compare to the Duet?)
So the things that are important to me is the latency and great converters..I don't mind if I have to spend extra money and having inserts that i'm only using when i record bands (which is not my primal goal)
At the moment my phocus is on having 2 inserts top quality converters with a good clock, 2 outputs for my monitor and headphone.
I would really like to know what you're all thinking and specially if someone had experience with the RME HDSe AIO!
    thanks ! Pascal

  • Using Aperture and Capture NX 2

I'm using Aperture 3 and have just downloaded the trial version of Capture NX 2. Upon opening CNX2 and opening pictures in the browser, the Aperture library is grayed out. My question really is what should I expect to see upon opening CNX2?

That's exactly what you would expect to see when you try open the Aperture Library with Capture EX 2.
(BTW you know this is the iPhoto 08 forum, right?)
Aperture is a database. If you want to process Raws with NX then you'll need to either process them before importing to Aperture or use an app like Catapult ( http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/31765/catapult/) to use it in association with Aperture.
