JavaIDL sun site simple example dont work

Hello all
i didn't saw any javaIDL forum so i will port it here , im trying to run the
javaIDL tutorial http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/guide/idl/tutorial/GSserver.html
but im geting error when i trying to compile the code on the HelloServer.java it say : (on orb.connect(helloRef);)
The method connect(Object) in the type ORB is not applicable for the arguments (HelloServant)
i changed the servant from :class HelloServant extends _HelloImplBase
to class HelloServant extends HelloPOA
can any one can tell me why is the error ?

They wouldnt launch from the hyperlink.(OK ..They work now from the JWS application manager.)

SYNCING PROBLEM 1309 IN A MAC, Ive tried everything on the site it doesn't work.

Ipod Nano 6th generation:
Ive had this product for a little over a year (it was a gift for christmas 2010) ive taken care of it really well and it has been used properly without problems until november 2011. I restored it but the issue continues to persist Ive been able only to add about 250 songs when I used to have over 2,000. The pop up warning continues to appear so I cant add any more songs to my ipod. Im trying to find a solution to this problem, Ive tried doing many of the things on the site but they dont work, I dont believe apple has placed really good answers just dumb solutions, that dont work.
Before anyone says anything on to updating. EVERYTHING IS UP TO DATE. I use Lion on my macbook and my iphone 4 s didnt have any problems in syncing music.
I dont go to the mac stores because I live in El Salvador and I dont trust those technitians, I believe theyll over charge me, so I prefer solving the problem myself.

Simple example doesn't work when on two machines

I have a simple RMI example that works when I run both the client piece and the server piece on one machine. However, when I seperate them to two different machines, it does not work. The client piece just sits and waits at this line:
Calculator c = (Calculator)Naming.lookup("rmi://162.130.1.68/CalculatorService");I believe I don't need an HTTP server running on the "server" machine, but is there anything I need to setup on either machine? Do I need to start the rmi registry from a specific folder or put the server files in a specific folder? I've heard the term "network accessible" thrown arround. Do I need to make the files "network accessible?"

The first thing I would do is what the previous poster said which refers to the term Network Accessible. The second thing I would do is remove "rmi:" in the lookup name. I've never seen that notation anywhere. The third thing I would do is make sure the rmi registry is started on the server. You can actually start it from inside the application like so: java.rmi.registry.LocateRegistry.createRegistry(java.rmi.registry.Registry.REGISTRY_PORT);

I updated to Firefox 5 and now have problems with it not responding ALOT and also even though I have certian sites listed to allow popups they dont work on several sites I use daily. What can I do about this?

I am sorry you are not in a position to replace the iPad. It is stating the obvious, but nothing lasts forever - especially something like an original iPad. IMHO, there is nothing you can do to address the issues you have posted about.

Thanks Alex, but sadly I already tried that. Neither .docx or .xlsx files show up in the content list. They both show as a Chrome HTML document so changing how Firefox addresses those doesn't help since it thinks its the same type of file. I don't think I can manually add files into the "Content Type" left side nav.

There are certain things that happen when a JSF component is added using the drag and drop facility. As you might have noticed Creator makes use of a page backing bean Page1.java. When the JSF component is dragged and dropped
1. Corresponding code is added in the JSP source
2. The component declaration is added to the page backing bean
3. The getter and setter methods are added to the page backing bean.
If we were to add jsp code in the JSP source this would leave the page backing bean unattended. So for a developer it is lot more easier to add the components in the visual designer by making use of the drag and drop facility. This is my understanding as to why the auto completion doesnt work in JSP source.

In which i used Blur filter on the fire flares(SVG images), everything works just fine on google chrome, but for IE10 & Firefox the filter seems not working, so i need to know is it possible to override the fallbacks for the Blur Filter through external StyleSheet.

It's very strange, almost like the left click doesnt work on the scratchpad (although it's not that as using keystrokes also fails). OS is Windows7 Pro 64. Everyone reading your posts here is just another MacBook Pro user. We're all volunteers, not Apple employees. No one here can speak for Apple.
In my personal opinion, buying Apple products in a country where Apple has no stores and no corporate presence is a risk that the buyer takes knowingly. I don't think it's a wise risk, and I don't recommend that anyone take it. A small percentage of the products sold anywhere are going to have problems, and it makes more sense to buy an inferior product that can at least be serviced locally than to buy a superior product that may have to be sent thousands of miles for repair if anything ever goes wrong with it.

After upgrading to Firexfox 35.0 all vine videos, instagram videos and some webplayer videos dont work anymore.

*Ive tried toggling off the plug-ins to see if anything I have problems with works. Nothing.

Whenever I would terminate/end process my plugin from my task manager in 34.0 EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING would not work including every vine video and instgram video, it would either show that grey message that says the plugin crashed or it would not work. They would all work again when I refreshed the page. Everything, in 34.0 in my firefox was using the flash plugin.
Now, as I stated above I thought it was just some kind of webplayer and firefox 35.0 conflict that was causing these problems.
Until I saw this:

IS because of their file extension, their file types.
I went to the firefox options and clicked the Applications tab:

Shouldnt all those video file types be in : Use Shockwave Flash (in Firfox) instead of : Always ask

In Conclusion, what gives??
-In 34.0 Everything worked.
-If I terminated/ended process the Flash plugin in 34.0 everything would be affected by it , either by not working anymore or showing me that grey crash message.
-This all started when I upgraded to 35.0
-Has nothing to do with webplayer conflicting with 35.0 as proven above.
-The reason for all of this not working is the type of video extension they have. Judging from the examples I gave of the things I cant play, it would seem I cant play mp4, flv and whatever vine uses. Which I think its mp4 as well.
Anyways, how do I fix all this so it works like it did before I upgraded to 35.0

I looked at that but it only shows for Windows 8.1 , 8.0 , 7 , i have Vista , 64 bit Ultimate , would the Windows 7 one work ?? , or am i out of luck ?
And what plug-in icon in the address bar ?? , i don't see anything that pertains to any plug-ins

Can't get "Simple Example Doclet" to run -- Cannot find

I am trying to run the "Simple Example Doclet" at http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/tooldocs/javadoc/overview.html.
It appears to compile ok, but when I go to run it I get the message "javadoc: Cannot find doclet class ListClass".
Listed below is:
     1. The execution command and error message
     2. The version (output of javadoc -J-version)
     3. The javac compile command and input and output files
All directories have been kept the same as in the example.
Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry to be so late in getting back to you .. I was on vacation.
ListClass is in the current directory. I did get it to work however... In order to get it to work I had to do two things:
1. use -docletpath (even thought it was in the current path) e. g. -docletpath C:\jdk1.3\ListClass.jar
AND
2. Make the class file a jar file -- I could not get it to work otherwise.
p.s. the typo was a decompiler error.

Can't get Tag Library example to work

All I did was jar xvf iteration.war and jar xvf template.war
And now it seems like it's not picking up the locations to any of the tags.

Has anyone else had problems with getting this example to work?

Ok, I've just taken a quick look at it, and its not going to work right out of the box.
The examples are kinda old now.
The thing which is stopping it from running is a change with Java 1.4
Tomcat can no longer access classes in the "unnamed" package.
Thats why it can't find the class Organization, or Iterator or any of the others.
All java classes must now be in a package for Tomcat to find them.
Also the IterationTag.class is sitting in the web-inf/lib directory which just seems wrong to me - only jar files should be there in my experience.
In short, I would go looking for a more up-to-date tutorial.
