Javascript help - scrolling table entries

Hello,
I am very much an amateur at web building, and try to learn through other people's sites. However, I can't seem to be able to figure out how to add my next feature to my site. If anyone could help, I would be very greatful.
Here is what I am trying to do:
I have a fantasy golf website where I list the players' names in 10 different brackets (columns of a table). In brackets 1 - 9, I list 8 names in each. In the 10th bracket I want to be able to have say 80 names, but only show 8 at a time. To do this, I wanted someone to be able to use an up and down arrow on the page to scroll through the names.
Here is what I have so far:

There are a few problems with my code:
1. I get a stack overflow error upon loading the page.
2. The 8 names in bracket 10 are supposed to show upon loading the page, and don't until the mouse is moved to over one of the arrows.
3. On a mouseover event, the names only move up by one. I wanted to be able to scroll through the names (at some determined speed) as long as the mouse is over the arrow.
If anyone has ideas as to how I can solve any of these problems, I would be eager to hear them. Thanks in advance.
P.S. I tried to mess around with things on a different page (http://flbr.buildtolearn.net/test01.html) and have managed to eliminate my first two problems, but still have the third.

I don't know how Java relates to JavaScript... barring the similarity in name and some looney kind of object usage in JavaScript.
Maybe there should be a message on the forum... JavaScript kiddies stay out.

Help view to get two table entries in search help

Hi,
I have created the help view for join two tables and that help view was called in the selection method for creating search help of the custom table field. since it has show inthe selection screen , it is fetching only one table entries. and the shown entries are displaying but not passing.
Please provide the steps to get the two table entries and the displayed entries should pass.

1. Try your view with SE16/SE16N to see if it really finds what you expect
2. Use the same data elements in help view as on selection screen
3. read documentation and F1 help on all fields you see in the search help definition - especially only field marked as EXPORT parameter will be put back on screen.
But, sincerely, I don't know what your selection-screen looks like.

Developing Scrolling Table

I have deleloped a scrolling table (with horizonal and vertical scrollbars) using html, xsql, xsl, javascript, and ajax technology. I need to display very large tables (2,000-10,000 lines of data) some tables have around 20 columns. The problem is my code is too slow and the window seems to response slowly to anything the user tries to do in the window, like click on a button. It takes over 3 minutes for around 2,000 lines of data.
I am using JDeveloper 10.1.2 with Oracle 10g database. Are there any build-in features availiable in JavaServer Faces or any thing else in JDeveloper that would help me with getting a scrolling table developed in a web page?
Any examples or documentation on this would be great. Or any other web sites which may have a tool that does this? We cannot use Active-X components.

The examples provided do paging. The customer wanted a scrolling table like in Microsoft excel. Can you do something like that in a web page?
I was asking if you can have a scrolling table within a web page which can hold 5,000-10,000 records and even larger number of records and the web page work recently well. The one I created works very slow in responcing when trying to do anything in the web page like scrolling down in the table or entering a value in a text box on the web page.
So Oracle does not have a plug-in or object that allows for a large scrolling table of data? Or some technique that makes it look like a large scrolling table?

Table entries not getting displayed in desired format

In my adobe layout I created a table . I used data format Align Right and align middle for the table entries. In the Output some entries of the table are not displaying in align right and align middle.

That is pretty to much information to help you.
You need to share your technical setting. How did you create the table? Subforms, Table-assistent... what are the values in? Format, what happens when you also pass more than 1 digit to the numbers in the first row, does it show up correct?
So please share more details and explain exact what you have tried to fix the issue. The community is able to help you, but not meant to suggest enaything you could have done.

No table entries found for specified key

Hi All,
I have developed a program to upload data from flat file with the help of GUI UPLOAD. It is succesfully updating data in my Z-table.
Whenever I tried to view the content of table for specific field, message shows No table entries found for specified key. However if I add * as a suffix, it shows the data & when I directly Execute table it also displays the data.
I have also cross checked the spaces before or after the specific content, no space found.
Only two fields are creating this issue Individually (one of them is key field)

Transporting table entries present in standard SAP R/3 table u201CTMCEXCFZu201D.

Hi All,
We have a requirement where in we need to capture a table entry in transport request in R/3.
The table "TMCEXCFZ" is a standard SAP R/3 table.
The" transport entries" option under the "table entry" in menu bar is disabled in our case.
Is there an alternative way to capture the table entries in the transport request?

Try to go to object changeability in the table....assign the table in a package.....then try to save this...it should ask for a transport...

Dealing with DB table-entries in ABAP OO

Hi everybody,
in ABAP-Reports (normally) we have deal a lot with DB table entries.
Is there a "state of the art" for doing this with ABAP OO?
An easy example:
Asuming I want to select table entries into an
internal table from BUT000.And than I want to write: the entries.
How would this look like in ABAP OO?
show the internal ZTable be my object?
or should every BUT000-Table-record be my object?

Hello Mario,
A very good question. This is what is called as modeling.
I shall give you an approach into this. There is no right and wrong way of doing it. Probably, only a more desriable or better way !!
How you model it depends on what your object is.
If you have an internal table of sales orders, still in real world the services or methods are on a single sales order. So the object here is a single sales order.
=> I would model the class to deal with one sales order. (this more or less answers your question)
2. Just to take this a little further.
What I would do is have 3 different layers of abstraction.
A UI class, a business layer class and a DB class.
UI class can only talk to business class, business can talk to DB class. And the DB class is a static class.
The UI class is only responsbile to do the display job.
The UI will display multiple sales orders for eg, so u have an internal table of instances to the business layer.
The business layer itself does validation, processing for each sales order.
The business layer can also have soem static methods (or class methods) to select multiple records from Database. This is static, as it is not acting on one sales order, but you are returning multiple. This method should simply call a method of the DB layer.
The DB layer is meant only to read from DB and write to DB.

Custom Table Entry not in Sync between Different Environment

Hi All,
we have different environment like Dev System, Quality system, performance testing system etc... these are all environment customs table entry not in syn .. Table entry should be syn. How to make it syn all the entry between all environment without do any manual work. Kindly help on this.

Hello Mohammed,
It depends on what type of tables you are referring to. If you have a table of type 'Customizing', you have to transport your table entries across different environments and they will be in Sync.
If you are referring to tables of type 'Master Data', they have to be maintained in all environments.
Table of type 'Transaction Data' by default have different records based on your day to day transactions.
You cannot have all custom tables with same data in all environments. Hope this helps.

Transporting table entry with primary key 120 char

I have 2 separate questions which I feel are closely related.
In the url:

It says:....
If the key length is greater than 120, there are restrictions when transporting table entries. The key can only be specified up to a maximum of 120 places in a transport. If the key is larger than 120, table entries must be transported generically.
How do I transport the table entries "generically" for such a table?
To further illustrate my actual problem:
My problem in the real world lies with the MIMETYPES table, maintained in trx SMW0.
I select the mime types row by row and do a Table Entry > Transport Entries, but get an error that says
"Key entry for table MIMETYPES may only be generic".
As a result it fails to attach to my transport.
(Note: the primary key of MIMETYPES is 128 chars long)
The Diagnosis long text says "The key is longer than allowed by the Change and Transport System (120 characters)."
The Procedure says:
1. Make sure that you only specify the character fields before the
 first non-character key field. You must enter the key with a generic
 ending. Enter the generic symbol directly after the specified part
 of the key.
2. You must enter the generic symbol at the latest in the 120th
 character of the key. 
What is this generic symbol that i need to insert at the 120th position??

So the mysterious "generic character" is actually the asterisk (*). It works.
Strange tho as the error long text says to insert the "generic character" at the 120th character position of the key, but I found that altho I can save it, the transport still fails with the same error.
I tried placing the * right after the key value e.g.
KEY123*
and it worked.

create a foreign key relations with that table
the procedure is as follows
To create your check table:
Begin at the Dictionary: Initial Screen.
Type the table name in the Object Name field.
Choose the Tables radio button.
Press the Create button. The Dictionary: Table/Structure: Change Fields screen is displayed.
Type a short text, choose delivery class A, and tickmark Tab. Maint. Allowed.
Type the field and data element names at the bottom of the screen.
Tickmark both fields to indicate that they both form the primary key
Press the Save button on the Standard toolbar. The Create Object Catalog Entry screen appears.
Press the Local Object button. You are returned to the Dictionary: Table/Structure: Change Fields screen
Press the Technical Settings button on the Application toolbar. The ABAP/4 Dictionary: Maintain Technical Settings screen is displayed.
In the Data Class field, enter APPL0 (APPL0 with a zero, not APPLO with an alphabetic O).
Enter 0 (zero) in the Size Category field.
Press the Save button.
Press the Back button. You are returned to the Dictionary: Table/Structure: Change Fields screen.
Press the Activate button on the Application toolbar. The message "was activated" appears in the status
bar and the Status field contains the value Act..
Choose the menu path Utilities->Create Entries to enter data into your newly created check table. Enter six rows with land1 values of US, CA, DE, IT, JP, and AU.
Foreign Key Creation Procedure
To create a foreign key:
Begin at the Dictionary: Initial Screen.
In the Object Name field, type the name of the table that is to contain the foreign key .
Choose the Tables radio button.
Press the Change button. The Dictionary: Table/Structure: Change Fields screen is displayed.
Position your cursor on the field that is to become the foreign key
Press the Foreign Keys button on the Application toolbar. The Create Foreign Key screen will be displayed
Type a description of the foreign key in the Short Text field, for example, Country Code validation.
Type the name of the check table (-t005) in the Check Table field, or click on the down-arrow and choose it from the list.
The Change Foreign Key pop-up appears. It states Check table name was created or changed. Generate a proposal for field assignment? Press the Yes button.
You are returned to the Create Foreign Key screen. The check table field names and the foreign key field names are displayed. (The check table field names are -t005-mandt and -t005-land1. The foreign key field names are -lfa1-mandt and -lfa1-land1).
Press the Copy button. You are returned to the Dictionary: Table/Structure: Change Fields screen and the message "Foreign key was transferred" appears in the status bar. The Status fields contain the values Revised and Not saved.
Press the Activate button on the Application toolbar. The message "was activated" appears in the status bar. The values in the Status fields are now Act. and Saved.

PO not updates in ICH due to table entry error

Hi Experts,
I have an issue while sending the PO from R/3 to SNC. Below error has occured and not able to understand what exactly this error. I have checked the PO data and everything is correct in R/3.
"Error changing a table entry (secondary index /1OM/ORDR7MP3100, mode M)"
Could you please help me to resolve the issue as many PO's are blocked due to above error.

Hi Gowri,
It looks like ODM is not activated properly for PO.
Check whether ODM activation is done properly or not.
You can refer step 1,3 and 4 in SAP note 1178483 for activation of ODM or SAP note 836457.
If above steps are already perform and still the same issue then you need to force generate the ODM go to
transaction code:
/N/SCMB/ODM_GEN_ORC for force activation of the component(check the force generate check box)
/N/SCMB/ODM_GEN_ORDTP for force activation of the order data type(check the force generate check box)
/N/SCMB/ODM_GEN_ORDA for force activation of the order data area(check the force generate check box)
And perform the steps mentioned in the above SAP note.

SQL Developer 3.1.07 does not show a Tables entry under the Navigator

Installed SQL Developer 3.1.07. Under my Connections window, I log into the SYSTEM account. There is NO tables entry. SYSTEM has access to all tables in the database. It's the same behavior for other database users as well.
I re-installed SQL Developer 3.0.04 and a Tables entry DOES appear for the same SYSTEM user connected to the same database.

I was under the impression that regardless of the Java version that my environment variables are setup to use,
the installation of SQL Developer (when you install with a JDK), that the JDK version installed with SQL Developer
is the one that is used.Exactly correct, unless you decide to override it in the conf file. I needed to be certain you did not.
Anyway, trying to resolve the problem, let's go back to a possibility that something went wrong with the migration of your preference settings. Here is an old thread discussing a missing Tables node in the Connection view (sometimes called the navigator tree):

The poster had to rename the system directory containing these settings, then ignore the offer to migrate settings upon starting up SQL Developer again. If you never migrated settings in the first place, then I'm not sure what more to say -- probably would require additional research here in the forum. But if you did migrate settings, then try the following:
1. Export your connections (Connections node | right-click | Export Connections...)
2. Exit SQL Developer
3. Rename the directory to something else
4. Restart SQL Developer
5. Import your connections
That directory on my Windows 7 machine for the current production release is something like:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\SQL Developer\system3.1.07.42
