JaxRPC obtaining sender endpoint address

Hi,
(Repost - posted in wrong spot earlier)
I have an application whereby a service waits for a group of "clients" to come along and register with it. What I want to happen is that they can simply use JAXRPC, and invoke a method register() on the server. I want the server to then be able to then send messages to each of the clients that have registered with it. (Note - not just replying to the requests). I am unsure of how to go about this. I can't see a way to obtain the endpoint address to send back to from a given message.
Sorry if this is a stupid question,
Thanks.
Tim.

Ok.
So just checking here.
I have a number of clients - call them devices, as I am not sure that they are purely clients.
I have a server - call this a centre, to remove confusion.
So, I think what I have to do is to get all of my devices, and my centre to publish their information in something like a JAXR registry.
My devices can then look up and locate the centre.
They can then tell the centre that they want to register with it.
The centre can then look up the devices in the JAXR registry.
The centre can then tell al of the devices to start performing their tasks at once.
The devices can then all start their tasks, and continually inform the centre of their progress.
I think this is what I will have to do (ie devices and centre all running client and server code). Is this correct?
Thanks,
Tim.

  • WCS - Some clients never obtain an IP address

    I have a multi-floor building with each floor devided into it's own AP group, with it's own respective interface and VLAN.  Everything works fine ... except for the first floor.  We have wireless carts that have two wireless cards on them.  One is built into the PC attached to the cart, and the other is part of the cart itself for management purposes.
    We cannot seem to get the cart monitoring onto the network (while the Windows PC's wireless works just fine).  I have gone over the settings for the AP groups, interfaces, controllers, AP's, etc over and over again and I cannot seem to find anything wrong with the setup.  It seems to authenticate to the AP, get connected, and then never obtain an IP address.  I cannot seem to find any problem with the DHCP server or it's scope.  There are plenty of addresses left to hand out.
    Here is a 'debug client' dump from the WCS controller.  Does anyone have any ideas of what I might check?
    Thanks in advance for any advice offered!

    It is obvious that the AP is trying to send KEAPOL-key Message 5 to the client but it does not reply. It tries three times then the timer expries and the AP deauthenticates the client.
    In first glance, this is a client issue. I've seen this misbehavior with many such clients like yours when people tried to move from old non 802.11n APs to new 802.11n APs (mainly 1252 and 1142). The clients do not connect to new APs. It was always client issue and people had to upgrade the devices firmware or wireless driver on the client.
    One unlucky customer had his clients (wireless guns) out of support so he had to replace them all to get them to work with the new APs. I hope your device is not out of support yet.

  • How to set endpoint address using UTL_DBWS

    Hi,
    I have been struggling to invoke a web service in the Oracle 10g database using UTL_DBWS. Now I reached a point where I need to set an endpoint address using UTL_DBWS to complete the invoking process, I try to use UTL_DBWS.Set_Target_Endpoint_Address to do this, but SQL*Plus is returning an error saying Set_Target_Endpoint_Address must be declared.
    Am I calling the wrong function? If so which function should I call to set endpoint address in UTL_DBWS? I have all the necessary jar files installed and the right grants to access this package.
    any hint would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Did you try using 'UTL_SMTP.WRITE_DATA'?
    Like:
    DECLARE
    con UTL_SMTP.CONNECTION;
    BEGIN
    con := UTL_SMTP.OPEN_CONNECTION('alpha.beta.com');
    UTL_SMTP.HELO(con, 'gamma.com');
    UTL_SMTP.MAIL(con, '[email protected]');
    UTL_SMTP.RCPT(con, '[email protected]');
    UTL_SMTP.OPEN_DATA(con);
    UTL_SMTP.WRITE_DATA(con,'Importance: HIGH'||UTL_TCP.CRLF);

    "Add sender to address book" no longer works. It flashes the menu bar as if it is working, however, when I go to the Address book, the new person is not there. This has been going on for a number of weeks.
    Any ideas?

    Keith,
    Since you have confirmed that the maintenance scripts have been used, then you may benefit from the troubleshooting procedures listed in Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption.
    I would also suspect .plist corruption with com.apple.mail.plist and/or com.apple.AddressBook.plist.

  • Webservice needs sender email address to be that of service user -how todo?

    I host a web service. It is used by merchants in their web sites. My web service sends notifications to the merchants customers. Trouble is the sender email address is my web service email address and not that of the merchant. Some merchants do not like this and they want emails to their customers to be seen to come from them.
    What would I (or the merchant) need to do in order to be able to set the sender email address to that of the merchant. Im assuming I can't just go ahead and set the sender to be any old email address! e.g. Im thinking Id have to use the merchants smtp host or something.

    You can set the sender to whatever you want; that's why there's spam.
    Whether your SMTP server will allow you to send with any arbitrary sender is a different story.
    If you run your own SMTP server, you can control this. Otherwise, yes, you would probably need
    to use the merchant's SMTP server and login credentials.

  • Sender email address verification

    During my recent DNS server outage (caused by XO DSL suddenly turning on filtering of port 53), I noticed something quite interesting with .Mac server and I am wondering if there is a way for Tiger server users to EASILY implement the same feature to reduce the inflow of spam?
    When my DNS stopped, my .Mac account STOPPED accepting email from my work account, essentially saying there was no such account on my work server.
    I obviously do understand that the fact that my DNS was not working and my server could not be verified was the reason for this, but it got me thinking....
    Is there any easy way to put this sort of incoming email verification process on my OWN Tiger server (work)? i.e. Only accept delivery of incoming email AFTER you verify that the sender email address DOES correspond to a valid email account on the senders host?? - which means no bogus email address or hostnames accepted...
    I think this would help cut down on a lot of Spam as these guys often send junkmail via bogus accounts/host names that cannot be replied to.
    Any useful information regarding setting this up would be most appreciated
    Thanks in advance - Rohin

    My question is ... wouldn't it make sense to check whether sender emails are valid before accepting email server connections.
    There's not really any way of doing that, besides, that's not really what you want.
    What you want is to ensure that the email comes from the person that it says it comes from. What you'd get is that the email says it comes from a valid email address. This is not the same thing.
    Even now, 99% of spam emails are sent from valid email addresses - it's trivial to put any email address in the 'from' header.
    Knowing that the From address is valid doesn't actually do anything to say that the person in the From header is the one who actually sent the message in the first place.
    There are several industry-wide attempts and performing validation at the domain level, which is about as good as it's going to get in the near term. For more information check out Sender Policy Framework which defines (via DNS) which IP addresses are permitted to send email for a particular domain, and DomainKeys which uses digital signatures to validate the email.
    Since both models require input from the domain owners, they won't be 100% reliable until all domains opt-in to the schemes. For now it can help validate that an email is from a legitimate domain, but the absence of a SPF or DomainKey doesn't necessarily mean the message is spam.
    The only way to verify that the email comes from a valid user is some kind of confirmation - an email comes into your mail system which doesn't recognize the sender, so it holds the mail and sends a message back to the sender saying 'who are you?" and "if this message is legitimate, follow this link to unblock the message". The message is forwarded only after the sender confirms their identity and that the message is legitimate.
    This has all kinds of issues, though including latency (it takes longer for messages to get to you), delays (what if the sender sends the message right before they leave on a week's vacation?), and not least the complete lack of support for any kind of automated messages, list, etc. that are sent from non-humans.

  • Jax-WS Client - Change Endpoint Address "https" to "http" - Cause HTTP 302

    Hi,
    I don't know it is a bug or not, but i couldn't find any answer for this.
    I try to write a client for an SSL Secured and Basic Authenticated web service. To access the WSDL url, i have a VPN connection to that network. Also i registered their certificate to the JVM that i used to run the Client.
    To create Jax-WS Client codes, i used "......\jaxws-ri\bin\wsimport.bat -s src -d bin -p model https://xxxx.com/xxxxxx.asmx?WSDL" as explained.
    After successfully generated sources, i added my "SecurityEnvironmentHandler.java" to catch Username and Password callbacks, and also added "SecurityHandler.java" to register my handler and surrund with necessary SOAP Header Security tags. I register them as explained too.
    Everything looks fine, but when i try to run Client test which basically call one of the services, i get

    The basic of it i get an "*HTTP 302*" which means it tries to redirect the request.
    Also i had an working copy of a sample Client which was written with Jax-RPC. I looked the generated SOAP Messages for both of clients, they was almostly the same.
    After lots of tries, i found the problem, somehow after the client application starts, it changes the Endpoint Address "https://xxxxxxxx.com/xxxx.asmx" to "http://xxxxxxxxx.com/xxx.asmx", ( it drops the "s" wich means it changes the protocol HTTPS to HTTP ).
    If i set the Endpoint Address to "https://xxxxxxxx.com/xxxx.asmx" before calling any service on port, it works as it should be.
    On the "generated" main WebServiceClient class the WSDL address and also Endpoint Address were set correctly ( with https ).
    Also do i missing any logical part of it? Because i didnt changed it, it generated from WSDL by using "wsimport", it couldnt be a mistake, of if it would be, somebody could see that.
    Thanks for any advice.

  • Workflow step - send email - address of sender

    Hi,
    We are using workflow to register travels and leave requests and we are sending emails to the employees about eg. that their document has been rejected/approved. Emails are sent by user WFBATCH. Is it possible to change this user to some other one so that we could change the sender email address?
    Thank you!

    Hello,
    If you're usng a SendMail step then (if I remember correctly) it's always run in background and therefore always WF-BATCH.
    Usually, if I want to do anything unusual with mails from workflow then I create a step which calls a task which calls a new method of my BOR object which calls fm SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1. See if you can specify the sender there.
    Please let the forum know how you get on.

  • TS3276 I cannot add contacts to the address book by clicking "add sender to address book."

    In Apple Mail, OS 10.7.3, when I click on add sender to address book, nothing gets added. The address book doesn't change. When I try adding addresses via previous recipients, the button is active, but when I click, nothing is added to the address book. Any ideas for me?

  • Add Sender to Address Book Category?

    Does anyone know if you can set up a "rule" or something of that nature to the Add Sender to Address Book feature? I would like all of my contacts from my .me email to be saved in a preset category in my Address Book.

    Take a look at Andreas Amann's Mailscripts. His add to address book script instructions:
    "Select all messages you want to use for creating the mailing list (for creating a mailing list, you would choose all messages in a mailbox which contains all messages on a certain topic).
    Run the script and you get a list with all addresses contained in the selected messages - mark all the addresses you want to add to the Address Book using the checkboxes.
    From the popup menu, choose which group you want to update with the selected addresses or select "Create new Group..." and enter the name for the new group to be created.
    The script checks whether an address is already present before adding it to the Address Book in order to avoid duplicate entries. If additional information is available for an entry already present in the Address Book (e.g., full name information for an entry which had prior been email-only), the entry will be updated."

  • Printing sender's address only on small envelope

    I'm trying to help my Mom send many Thank You cards out. I've succeeded in printing the message on the cards however I'm having problems printing address on the small envelope. The people whom she's trying to send the cards out are not people who we need to keep in our address book. So we are trying to speed up the process by printing her/senders address only on the envelope and hand writing the send-to addresses instead of entering some 200 entires into my address book.
    I didn't know about the Address app's print function so first I tried it with TextEdit. I've done some acrobatics moves to make it print my/sender's address somewhat close but I couldn't make it to print it any closer than 1" margin from the top left corner edges. Now I'm trying from the Mac's Address app but I ran into problem of not being able to print only the sender address; it seems I can only choose both addresses or none at all. I'm thinking probably there is a way but since I'm trying to do this for the first time I can't figure out. Anyone know how?

    Hi George,
    From your description, here is my understanding about your issue:
    You create a rule on user1's mailbox: If messages come from external, forward them to user2's mailbox. In user1's mailbox, message from external doesn't show the sender's email address. If I have misunderstood your concern, please let me know.
    Based on my knowledge, if a message from external, it should show the sender's email address. Also, I have a test in my environment using Exchange 2010 with Outlook 2013, it works. In your case, I recommend you check if OWA has the same issue. Also, please
    send a message from external without forward and check if this external sender's email address will be displayed.
    What's more, I would like to clarify the following thing:
    User1([email protected]) create a rule that forwards messages from userA(external user,
    [email protected]) to user2([email protected]). If userA sends a message to user1, in user1's Inbox, this message from "userA <[email protected]>"; in user2'a Inbox,
    this message from "user1" not "userA <[email protected]>".
    Besides, forward and redirect are two different things.
    Hope my clarification is helpful.

  • Hotmail - Sender email address is invalid

    Hi,
    Ever since I got my new iPhone 3GS, I have not been able to send emails. I had an izymail subscription for hotmail on my original iPhone and it worked fine. I synced everything over to my new iPhone 3GS and also made a new email account as Hotmail is now free to set up using POP3.
    I turned my izymail account off because I was having problems with it fetching old deleted emails once or twice a week. Everything was working as normal until I tried to send an email and the following message appeared: "Sender email address is invalid"
    I've tried switching my izymail account back on and switching my new Hotmail POP3 account off and my emails will send ok...
    So why are my emails not sending with my newly setup Hotmail POP3 account?

    Sender Address invalid is the error message you get when your SMTP (outgoing email) settings are not working.
    Many times this is because you are trying to use an SMTP server on a WiFi network and the ISP is blocking all SMTP connections that are not going to the ISP servers - this is to stop spammers.
    Also, you will get this message when you try to use your SMTP server on 3G or Edge - the ISP sees a connection to their email server (SMTP) coming from AT&T (or your cell carrier) network not their own network and they think it is spammer so they deny the connection.
    Some things to try - turn on the default SMTP server on the ipHone that corresponds to your carrier - when on 3G/Edge you can use this outgoing email server to connect without problems. Or, look to see if your ISP offers an email server on a different port (mine offers one on port 80 - all web browsers use this so other nets can't block it). Look for settings for authenticated SMTP servers - if your mail provider offers this it may be a way in also.
    The search box (top right) will bring you many threads on this same subject.

    I have followed previous postings on this but nobody appears to have posted a definitive answer. I have tried updating wireless lan driver etc but have got nowhere.
    Somebody please help before I go nuts.

    Make sure you are using the correct encryption (WEP/WPA/WPA2 with AES/TKIP and password). Eventually you might want to disable the password/encryption to check your equipment for proper function.
