JComboBox drops up instead of down!

I have a JComboBox in a JMenuBar at the top of my JPanel. I have some items in the JComboBox. When I click on the arrow to view the elements, the display window goes up instead of down. Thus, I can only see one item since all the others are our of the display area. Any ideas? Thanks....

Actually, I have 2 JComboBoxes next to each other on the same JMenuBar. One of them drops down and the other drops up. Very Wierd.

  • Spry menu bar pops up instead of down in IE8

    Hi!
I'm using a spry horizontal drop down menu on a site and it works fine on my mac and in Fireworks and Safari. In IE it drops up instead of down, does anybody know how I can fix that?
This is what it looks like:

    Thanks!
    Annika

Make sure that you have saved the Spry Assets that go along with the Menubar. I assume that you have, but this menubar is a simple list without its assets.
Also make sure that you have not inadvertently indicated the Vertical menubar. I assume that you have not.
When you delete and re-insert a Spry Widget, make sure that you do it by clicking anywhere in the Widget on the Document Window and then clicking on the blue widget tab. Then press delete, and all evidence of the Widget will go from your page. I find that manually editing does not always 'clean up' after disabling a Widget.
If you can post the page live somewhere, we can give you a better answer.

  • Displaying something other than a list in a JComboBox drop down section

    Dear all,
i'd like to be able to put a JTree into a JComboBox drop down section, or at least appear to have done this. has anyone done this or have an idea how this might be achieved?
    Cheers,
    Matt

Sounds like a job for a custom renderer. The JTree tutorial shows an example of one.

  • I dropped my iPhone 4s down the toilet and now the touchscreen won't work?

I dropped my iPhone 4s down the toilet because I saw a spider on the seat and jumped, causing me to drop it down the loo. I fished it out and dried it off. The phone was on so I tried to turn it off so it didn't fry the inside of it. I held down the power button and the usual "Slide to power off" slider came up. I tried to swipe it and the phone wouldn't do it. I kept trying to swipe but it wouldn't let me and the screen started to do something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ij7r2dyqBMg
It then stopped and stayed on the homescreen but slowly faded to a plain white screen and wouldn't do anything. I took out my SIM Card and dried it off because I didn't want it getting damaged. Then it turned to a black screen and once again did nothing, so I plugged it into my Macbook and it vibrated, indicating that it was being charged. Also, my iTunes & iPhoto icons started bouncing. The screen was still black so I unplugged it and left it on my bedside drawer to do whatever. About an hour or so later my boyfriend pressed the home button and the screen turned on, but it looked like a cloudy sky. It wouldn't do anything else so again, I left it for about an hour.
I then tried turning the phone on and the Apple logo appeared. The buttons work fine and the home screen with the date & time appeared, but the only thing that wasn't showing up was my screensaver, it is blurred out. I put my SIM Card back in and it says "SIM Faliure" on the screen & at the top where it usually says your network etc. (T-Mobile, 3G and all that) it just says "Invalid SIM" instead. Also, I can't use the touchscreen. I can't swipe up for the options or camera, I can't swipe to turn it off & I can't unlock the phone. I don't have any rice in this house as me & my father are allergic to it so there is no point in buying it.
It's a replacement phone & I've had it for less than three months. What else can I do? Also, there's a strange smell by the power button, but nowhere else on the phone.
    Help? Thanks - Ellie xo

I think that we all know the answer to this one.
Unfortunatley the device is concidered damaged by water. Apple can do an out of warranty repair which would cost $199. Generally they would just replace the device in this case for the $199.
The alternative is to Purchase a new device.

  • Menus that open UP instead of down

The site I am putting together in Flash CS3 has two menu
headings at the bottom of the page. I know that usually the menus
are at the top or on the side, but in this instance, they have to
be at the bottom. That being said, when a user rolls over "Entry
1", s/he should activate a vertical menu containing about six
items. The menu should open UP so as to not break the frame with a
drop-down menu. Once the menu is open, the user can click on one of
its entries and navigate to a new page. Can someone here please
help, or direct me to some code that does this?

  • My speed has dropped at least 20mb down and 5mb up...

Hello, I hope someone can help me out here.
A few months ago (Feb/March time), I had problems with my connection dropping below 39mb (I'm on Infinity 2) and after an engineer came out and fixed things, my connection was back to normal. It has been fantastic until the last 2 days where things have gone down hill rapidly.
The engineer located the issue at the time to a faulty fibre port. He completed a lift and shift to move the connection to another port and this resolved the slow speed problems at the time.
My connection has been very stable since then, averaging about 60 down and around 10 up. On the 21st April things dropped to 56.07 and stayed the same each day until 10th May. I was expecting things to possibly go back up to around 60 down, as the line monitoring obviously drops you some days and then ups you again once in a while.
Yesterday things dropped down to 50, which considering my line has reached 63 and certainly around 60 on numerous days since the engineer fixed things, a drop of 10mb I thought was quite a lot.
Today about half a hour ago as I am typing, the router went down and it has now dropped to 39.46 down and only 4.815 up which is terrible. That's a huge decrease and I have no idea why it is this low. The download speed is now just as low as it was before the engineer fixed things, and the upload speed is the lowest it has ever been since I joined BT over 2 years ago.
I have no idea what is going off, but surely this cannot be correct? I know on the BT test, it has shown max achievable as just over 64mb down and max 20mb up, this resulted in an actual speed of 63.16 down and 9.75 up on 21st March 2015.
These are the speeds I have monitored, showing the download and upload when logging into my router since the engineer last visited.

    12.05.15 39.46 4.815
Would a moderator please look into this for me and get in touch to check my line. I'm not sure if there is a fault on the line, if something has gone pear shaped, but the current speed is way below what I know my line can handle.
    Thank you

An engineer has just knocked at the door and confirmed my phone line is now back up. The issue was with 'the green box' which is at the bottom of the next street to me. No idea what he did, as he didn't say what had been fixed.
My speed when logged into the modem now shows 50.43 down and 9.215. The download speed funinily enough is exactly the same as it was on Monday, before everything went down Tuesday.
With regards to this speed, will the DLM monitoring system on the line increase things again over time? Considering I have had a maximum of 63.16 down and over the last couple of months it has averaged around 60, it's still a good 10mb or so lower than what it is capable of handling, but at least it has gone back up which is an improvement
I'm not sure if interleaving plays a part with the download speed (no idea if it is on or off with my Home Hub 5).

  • Can a website start in the footer, so you would have to start scrolling up instead of down?

Can a website start in the footer, so you would have to start scrolling up instead of down?

    Hi Jorge,
I am afraid that out of the box this is not possible. You will need some custom scripting to achieve this. You can create an anchor to the point from where you wish to begin and then simulate a click to that anchor via using some JavaScript on load.

  • JComboBox drop down list border color

When we click arrow button of JComboBox we get drop down list with black colored border.
But I want to set border of dropdown list to grey color.
    How to do that?

The required border size and color is mentioned in javax.swing.plaf.basic.BasicComboPopup instantiated in javax.swing.plaf.basic.BasicComboBoxUI; and unfortunately that is not directly accessible.
One of the approach would be:
    1. subclass BasicComboPopup - here you'll simply set the derived class's border to desired one.
    2. subclass BasicComboBoxUI - here you'll override createPopup (to return derived BasicComboPopup object) and createUI (to return derived BasicComboBoxUI object)
    3. make a call to target JComboBox's setUI to set new instance of derived BasicComboBoxUI object.
    Caution:
    1. This approach will be implementation specific, for more generalized result try creating your own look and feel.
    2. May need to tweek some more code to get final output.

  • No success in placing background image in JComboBox drop-down!

Hi All! I have an urgent proble, which I was not able to resolve a full day and a half long!!! I want to place a background image in the dropdown (JPopupMenu) of a JComboBox. Not behind the Menu Items (I know how to do that), but behind the popup itself (the items will have a transparent background). I was surprised to find out that I cannot achieve this via UI delegates (seems paint takes place in JComponent), nor with simply subclassing JPopupMenu (because after I draw the image it is overwritten by a background rectangle). I beleive this is not an easy thing to acheive, but I would accept a complicated solution as well.
    Can anyone help me?

  • I dropped my iPhone 4s down the toilet and i don't know what to do?

Earlier today i dropped my phone down the toilet, i had it on and playing music but it just completely turned off, so i tried to turn it back on again but then when it wouldn't i put it in a bowl of rice. But i just went and looked at it now and the back light is on and shining but it's really weak and dim in the dark? so im unsure of what i should do?

Leave it in a zip lock bag (not a bowl) of dry rice for a full week.
Do NOT turn it on or plug it in for a week.

    [2010/03/31 10:18:03, 1, pid=68241] /SourceCache/samba/samba-187.9/samba/source/smbd/service.c:makeconnectionsnum(1096)
lynne-pc (192.168.10.213) connect to service ld server initially as user lynnebuchan (uid=1031, gid=20) (pid 68241)
The machine is not bound to the server they are just using standard log on, but the user is an open directory user.
I possibly think it is something to do with smb cache as that seems to be referenced a bit.
    Any ideas.

there is no security rick changing to b/g but if all your devices are 'n' rated then there is no point.  However if they are not then enter 192.168.1.154 into your browser then enter hub manager then wireless where you will be able to make the change to just b/g
