JDev 903 release: popupmenus in linux

Does any other Linux-users get the iconic "don't drag this object" warning whenever right-clicking on an item in the explorer in order to use the corresponding popup-menu? It wasn't there in 903 preview, and is pretty annoying. (Still one can use the menu, it just takes an extra click).
In all other respects: Congratulations on finally releasing a great J2EE 1.3 compatible tool!

In all other respects: Congratulations on finally releasing a great J2EE 1.3 compatible tool!We used to see this with the 1.3.0 version of the JDK, but it doesn't happen on our machines under JDK 1.3.1_02 and later. What version of the JDK are you using? You may want up upgrade to the latest 1.3.1 from Sun and see if that clears it up.

  • Unable to start jdev 903 with redhat 7.3

    Hi,
    I installed jdev 902 on a redhat 7.3 box. It worked fine except i was unable to see/select the Property palette within the UI editor.
    So i tried to install jdev 903 to see if it worked better. I installed jdk1.3.0_02 and change the jdev.conf to point to this jdk.
    Then i typed:
    /opt/oracle/jdev903/jdev/bin/jdev
    ... and only got that ==>

    <==
    Nothing more. No window, no startup sreen.
    I tried
    /opt/oracle/jdev903/jdev/bin/jdev -verbose
    and got:==>

    Hi,
    Well see and thank you for the answer: Java 1.3.0_02 is not working in my system.
    Other versions of java work fine but not this one. But the way i made a mistake: the system where i installed jdev is running with RedHat 7.2.
    I have reinstalled java 1.3.0_02 with no more success.Could it be a problem between rh 7.2 and this version of java? In this case is it possible to use jdev with another version of java. I tried jdev 902 with java 1.4 and remember running into display problems.
    Thanks

  • How to install downloaded Oracle Forms Developer/Services 6i Release 2 for linux

    Hi folks,
    I downloaded d2k6irelease2.tar (Oracle Forms Developer/Services 6i Release
    2 for linux) from
    http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/forms/htdocs/linuxsoft.html
    I untar the file on my linux machine however the extracted files don't
    seem to contain any installing program. I didn't find products.jar in the
    files and there are no script to install the software. I read the attached
    doc, however it only assumes that the installation is from CD-ROM. The doc
    doesn't help anything for this downloaded software. I wonder if anyone
    here know how to install it. Thank you so much.
    Best regards,
    Kai Huang

    There should be a text based installer in the /orainst sub-
    directory
    In that directory, just run the script:
    ./orainst
    The installer seems to require libXm.a, which wasn't included in
    my RH 7.1 installation, so I had to install the motif-
    development libraries before the full install would complete
    successfully.

  • BC4J Tester won't run with SunJCE provider enabled in JDev 903

    I have a working BC4J project that I can access via the Tester and via code in JDev 903. The Module is deployed in 'Local' mode.
    I go into <jdev_home>\jdk\jre\lib\security\java.security and add the following line:
    security.provider.3=com.sun.crypto.provider.SunJCE
    I can no longer run the BC4J Tester - I get "java.lang.NullPointerException" - that's it - in the log window when I try to run the tester. I can still access the BC4J Module via code, just as before enabling the SunJCE provider, its just the Tester that won't run. My code that uses the SunJCE provider runs fine.
    I then comment out the new line in java.security, and the Tester runs fine again. (But, of course, my code that needs the SunJCE provider does not...)
    Note that I added this provider as the lowest order provider - the following is how java.security is setup when JDev is installed:
    security.provider.1=sun.security.provider.Sun
    security.provider.2=com.sun.rsajca.Provider
    Any thoughts or ideas?
    Thanks,
    Jim Stoll
    (I need this provider for something else I'm doing which uses both the SunJCE provider and BC4J, independent of each other)

    Hi,
    Can you create a JClient project to test your application module? I have not found why it failed in Tester when using SunJCE privider, but found that if I create a simple JClient using the same application module, it work.
    Thanks,
    Yvonne

    This is a user to user Forum, so you are not really addressing Adobe here, even though some Adobe employees thankfully have been dropping by.
    Over at
    http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/
    there is at least one long-running thread on the issue.
    But if you should be unwilling to accept arguments that do not support your point of view it may not be worth the trouble to locate it.

    Hello,
    Just a quick question: can we have an official position from Sun regarding support of earlier releases of Solaris with Java RTS 2.1? Our customer is currently running Solaris 10 Update 3 with current Recommended patches, and the 2.1 beta cyclic driver supported this version of Solaris. However with the official release version of 2.1, support for U3 disappeared (only U4 and U5 are now supported). Aside from "rubber stamping" the Solaris build via /etc/release, is there a technical reason why U3 is no longer supported? As long as our kernel is up to date, can we safely use 2.1? Or is it just a case of being unable to officially support and test so many releases of Solaris?
    Is this a general rule-of-thumb we can expect in future: only supporting the last 2 updates of Solaris 10?
    Your advice is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dave.

  • JDev 903 doesn't AQ with DB 9.2.0.1.0?

    I'm trying to use JMS in OC4J. I've created a simple bean that will post a message when a method is called. This code worked correctly when using JDev 9.0.2.822, but when I started with Jdev 9.0.3.1035, it gives me this error:
    oracle.jms.AQjmsException: ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:
    PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'AQ$_JMS_ENQUEUE_TEXT_MESSAGE'
    ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:
    PL/SQL: Statement ignored
    Both OC4J instances are set up to talk to the same back-end DB for message storage.
    Any idea why this is happening and how to make it (Jdev 903) work?

    * I had a similar problem and had to apply a patch to the database. I got the following from an iTar.
    Please apply one off patch 2513629. This patch can be downloaded via Metalink. Search under Patch 2513629HTH.

  • OC4J 2.0.0 is included in the JDev 9i Release Candidate (Available Now)

    http://www.oracle.com/start/jdevelopereap/intro.html?
    src=855007&Act=4
    I pretty sure it's 2.0.0 as it says so in the JDev 9i read me
    and JAZN (Oracle's JAAS implementation) is in there and it's
    supposed to be in 2.0.0. Plus the j2EE_home directory structure
    is different from 1.0.2.2.
    Can't find the updated documentation though, damn.

    Updates don't necessarily improve things and the point updates often create as many problems as they solve. The combination of 10.4.2 and QT 7.0 has been rock solid and problem free for me.
    I only update under controlled circumstances because I value system stability very highly. I have worked with and supported thousands of systems over the years and I can guarantee that the wanton application of updates is the #1 cause of problems.
    The software crash I mentioned happened while iDVD5 was reconnecting media in a project that had been moved to a different hard drive. It corrupted something in QuickTime as well as the disk catalog on one of my backup drives. I don't believe it's a repairable problem and decided to reinstall the system. For me, that opened the question of whether or not to reinstall my existing disk image or build a new one from scratch.
    OSX 10.4.9 has created major headaches for users of Final Cut Express and the QuickTime forum is full of problems associated with 7.1.5 & 7.1.6.
    I am looking for recommendations on specific releases of QT (in this forum) and OSX that users have found to be especially solid.

    Finally we found a workarround that solved our problem by comparing new generated BC4Js and the upgraded ones.
    If you have experienced the same problem you may try the following steps:
    - Update the BC4J (version 9.0.2) to version 9.0.3.
    - Then delete the project and create a new one in the same directory.
    - Import Busines Components and select your package.
    - You'll see a new [Module]0.jpx, now delete the one that doesn't contain the "0.jpx" termination.
    - Edit the file in "[BC4JModule]/common/bc4j.xcfg":
    --- Change <jbo.project>[YourModule]BC4J</jbo.project> to <jbo.project>[YourModule]BC4J0</jbo.project>
    --- And you may delete lines:
    --- <jbo.SQLBuilder>SQL92</jbo.SQLBuilder>
    --- and the extra <ENTRY name="DeployPassword" value="true"/> since it has been duplicated.
    Hope it helps somebody :)
