JDeveloper 10.1.3.1 is very slow, how to make it faster ?

Hi all,
I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3.1, on AMD Athlon 64 2800+, 1 GB RAM, Windows XP SP2.
As our pages grows, now it is very slow to add new page or navigation case on the faces-config.xml.
Yes, we can use the overview tab of the faces-config to work faster, but I see the drawing is not good if we let JDev to draw the line.
Is there any workaround to make our JDev faster ?

What I mean is that I use multiple faces-config files. One of them is just for my manged beans that I use in a menu model for my af:Page. In that faces-config, there are no navigation cases, just managed beans. Since the faces-config diagram view shows only navigation cases, the diagram is not useful for such faces-config's (the diagram is blank). In any case, I never use the diagram view, even for my faces-config's with the navigation cases. I just find it easier to use the "overview" view, or the XML source instead.

I have a report that becomes very slow these few months. I used SQL trace for the report and found out its these codes that slow down the report:

The thing is these codes have been used in different system, DEV, QAS, and PRD. But only in PRD it is very slow, other systems are pretty fast.
I even created a local copy of that report in PRD, with the same code. The local file runs fast and perfectly. But the original code is just slow.
Just wondering if anybody met this problem too? any ideas??

Index creation is not a advisable solution.Please follow the existing indexes by adding Mandt field.

You're welcome, j. If not enough free space availabe is the issue, now is a good time to upgrade to a much larger HD, as prices have never been better. Clear, illustrated directions are available at ifixit.com, macsales.com, powerbookmedic.com, youtube and others. Macsales, amazon and newegg have a nice selection of HDs, while the latter two also have lots of user reviews.
Given that your MBP is 4-5 years old, and the average life-span of a HD is 3-5 years . . . .
Given that you have a 17" MBP, you can install any capacity HD currently available, just make sure it's 2.5", SATA, and 12.5mm high or less (there's at least one Seagate monster out there that's 14-15mm high). All other things being equal, a 5400RPM HD is going to use less battery power, run cooler, quieter, and with less vibration, and, of course, run a bit slower than a 7200. An SSD is also a possibility (a very expensive one), but you're not going to see anywhere near the speed bump as newer machines due to the SATA 1 (1.5Gbps) SATA/HD bus bottelneck.

JDeveloper 9.0.3.1 is very slow

I have installed 9.0.3.1 and created the project from scratch. Previously I was using 903 which was very fast in bringing up my application in normail.debug mode. Now it is behaving very slow. the only difference is I am using CVS for my source control now. do I need to make any special settings in order to make it run fast?
I really need your suggestions, please.... I am not able to move further in my development...

Have you tried turning CVS off and see if the performance improves? I'd be very suprised if CVS was responsible for slowing your IDE, as I have had no problems with using CVS with a 300 file project.
Have you installed any Anti-Virus utilities that perform an active scan? Other OTN posters have found that some AV software will open jar files and scan inside, this can seriously impede IDE performance.
Other information that would be helpful in diagnosing your problem
- size of your project
- the type of application that you area debugging
- tecnology scope of the application (EJB, JCLient, etc..)

Report region runs very slow, but its sql runs fast

We have a page with a report region Type :SQL Query (plsq function body returning sql query) which runs very slow, pegging the tach on our db box for almost a minute before returning report rows. However, if we run the generated sql from sql plus, it returns all the rows in under 10 seconds with nary a blip on the box. Any idas how what could be causing this or how to debug?

I have a mac 10.5.8 and it has been very slow lately. I often get the rainbow wheel when using it and recently I have had to restart the computer alot because it seems to freeze. There are a few different reasons this could be happening, and it sounds like you're on the right track to isolating the issue. However, it would be very helpful to go one step further and Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support. This will completely wipe everything off the phone (including the iOS software itself) and install a fresh, clean copy of iOS, just in case there is a corrupt file in there giving you the trouble. After reinstalling iOS, set the phone up as a new iPhone temporarily to test the issue and see if it is still happening. If so, there may be a hardware issue with the device. Hopefully that isn't the case -- if the phone runs smoothly when set up as new then it means there was a corrupt file in the operating system or that there is something in your backup (possibly a third-party app) causing the issue. After testing the iPhone set up as new, go ahead and restore the phone from your backup and see if the issue comes back. If so, you may want to contact Apple Support to see if their diagnostic test helps narrow down which apps are contributing to the issue.

IMac running very slow; how can I fix it?

My iMac is running so slow, I can hardly use it all. All kinds of spinning balls, etc. I don't even know where to look to diagnose. If I restart, it will be faster for awhile. Both Safari and Firefox are running very slow...or not at all. I have repaired permissions and hard drive. I have dumped permissions for Safari and Finder and anything else that seemed involved. I checked my memory....this is the report I got. Does the fact that the first one say "disabled" mean anything? I will appreciate help you can give me.

Disk drives and free space
Mac model
Whether you are running 10.6.8 or actually later
Safe Boot and other maintenance, like Disk Utility in Recovery Mode or from another hard drive
Clone the system and backup data
Move all the user data to another disk drive and free up boot drive
What apps other than Pages which is normally not an issue (there is a forum for Pages)
What you are trying to open or do in Pages and if the file or preferences are the issue.
