JDeveloper setup steps for pdk java and portlet container - ver 10.1.2

Hi fellows,
Can someone please point to some really not-confusing guide to setting up pdk java and portlet containers on jdeveloper 10.1.2.
Problem is, I went through several documentation links and they keep pointing around to steps that are followed if you wish to have a stand-alone OC4J. JDeveloper 10.1.2 also had a preconfigured OC4J with it. I wish to make use of that and configure it for Oracle Portal editings for version 10.1.2.
thank you for your help.

I have some documentation that I tried following:
For PDK-Java installation, here is the link to documentation.
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/installing-089002.html
However, what is confusing is what to do if you just wish to use the preconfigured OC4J container that comes with Jdeveloper 10.1.2.
Experts, can you please clear this out please?
Thanks!

  • Required setup steps for Intercompany Invoice in 11i

    Hi,
Am new to this forum am trying to setup Inter company Invoice Transactions between Two operating units i have done quite a few setups with the help of some documents online,
I have created a sales order in one OU1 and Warehouse ID as OU2 and i have released and shipped it got the AR Invoice in OU1
But when i run 'Create Inter company AR Invoices' Concurrent Program in OU2 in Inventory Responsibility am getting a warning.
so if u can please help by providing setup steps which are required and mandatory for Inter Company Transactions so that i can go through once and have a recheck once where I have gone wrong.
    Regards,
    Sandy.

Do the components go to the same painting supplier?
If yes perhaps think about this.
Have the requisitions get created at the release of the work order.
Don't have any leadtime built into the operation to paint red...have the leadtime in paint blue.
Both can go out at the same time...and come back at the same time without any additional time built in.
    Does this work for you?

  • Connection steps for SAP BW and R/3

    Hi Every Body,
Can you please explain me detail about the connectivity between R/3 and BW.
General steps which am aware is as follws;-
SAP R/3 steps to be performed
    1.     Define Logical system---->(e.g ABC100)
    2.     Assign client to logical system -->(100)
    3.     Define RFC Destination.(Here I assume I have to give Destination user name and password should be the user which have SAP_ALL authorization) Am I right.
    SAP BW Steps:-
    4.     Define Logical system---->(e.g ABC100)
    5.     Assign client to logical system -->(100)
    6.     Define RFC Destination.(Here I assume I have to give Destination user name and password should be the user which have SAP_ALL authorization) Am I right.
Then in BW Environment in RSA1->Source Systems->right click and choose Create
There are two options available for R/3 system one is Manual and one is Automatic.
For Manual  creation we give RFC Destination should be BW system and Logical system should be R/3 and Source system name is xyz.
Is there any other steps am missing. What about the inbound and outbound Idoc Parameters.
I feel this will help while transferring data to BW.am I right.
Please clearly explain the steps for R/3 and BW connectivity.
    Regards,
    VJ

    Hi,
<i>For Manual creation we give RFC Destination should be BW system and Logical system should be R/3 and Source system name is xyz.</i>
RFC Destination should be R/3 system. NOT BW system.
    <i>should i make connection with only R/3 200(Data Client) to BW</i>
Yes you have to connect to 200 only. Not to 100.Other wise you will not get data from R/3 to BW.
<i>What is the Use of Transport Button in RSA6.Post Processing data sources.</i>
It will be used to create Trasnport requests on DS .
<i>Suppose if i activate data source from Customizing client(100)and click on Transport button in RSA6 if there is connection with this client to BW. What is the Impact.</i>
It will not give any impact on BW. Actually it ask you to create a Transport requset by Prompting the message box. After click on create button and entering the description, it will create a transport request.
<i>Clearly explain me in detail what happen when i choose Transport Button in RSA6 for BC data sources.</i>
It is must and should process. Because you will not activate(using of RSA5) the DS in quality R/3 system. So to use this DS in QA system, you will import the Transport request creatd in DEV r/3.
In your case, you will use client 100 for activating the DS and creating Transport reuests. And then these DS are automatically available in client 200, because DS are Client independent.

  • Give me the Configuration steps  for intercompany billing and third party s

    Hi Gurus,
Give me  the Configuration steps  for intercompany billing and third party sales and give me a brief description with examples.
    Regards,
    YSR

    Dear YSR
    Check the links
    [Cross Company Configuration|http://help.sap.com/bp_bblibrary/500/Documentation/J62_BB_ConfigGuide_EN_DE.doc]
    [Third Party Without Shipping Notification|http://help.sap.com/bestpractices/BBLibrary/html/J55_ThirdPartyWOSN_EN_US.htm]
Third party order processing is as follows:
    Assume three companies X, Y and Z
    X - The company,
    y - The customer
    Z - Vendor
When ever X gets a PO from Y to supply some goods, X has an option of either manufacturing those goods or procuring those goods.
If he is procuring the goods, there are two methods that are generally followed:
    Method 1)
After receiving the PO from Y, X creates a sales order against Y.
Now at the same time he also creates a PO to a vendor Z to produce the goods
Z produces the goods and supplies to X
X receives the goods from Z
Then X delivers the same goods to Y.
    After that X invoices Y and Z invoices X.
Note : Here there is no direct/ Indirect relation between Z and Y.
This process is known as Trading Process. and the Material here is created  with Material type HAWA.
The other method is a Third party order processing method:
Here the glaring difference is that instead of Z supplying the material to X and X in turn supplying the same material to Y.
X authorizes Z to supply the material to Y on his behalf and notify him once the delivery is complete.
Now Z supplies the material to Y and acknowledges the same to X.
Z  will send a copy of delivery acknowledgement and invoice to X.
After receiving the delivery confirmation and invoice from Z, X has to verify the invoice and this process is known as invoice verification and is done in SAP through Tcode MIRO.
The next step for X  is to create an invoice and submit to Y
Only after the invoice verification document is posted  then only X can create an invoice for Y.
This is the business flow that is followed for third party order configuration.
There are few steps that have to be configured to enable the system to function as mentioned above.
    Step1)
If you are always followwing a third party process for a material then you have to create the material using item category group BANS.
The procument type should be marked as External procurement (F) in MRP 2 view of the material master record.
if you are not always allowing third party order processing then u can create a material master record with item category group as NORM and the procurement type should be marked as ( X) meaning both types of procurment ( in house manufacturing and external procurement).
    Step 2)
the item category in the order should be manually changed as TAS.
For that you need to confugure the item category determination
ord type + item cat grp + usge + Hiv level = Item cat + Manual item cat
    OR + NORM +      +       = TAN . + TAS
    OR + BANS +       +       = TAS
    Step 3)
make sure that during the item category configuration for TAS  you need to mark relevnat for billing indicator as F
    Step 4)
The schedule line cateogry for this type should be CS.
make sure that you mark  subsequent type as NB - purchase requisition  in this schedule line category as this will trigger the purchase requision order immediately after the creation of the sales order and the PO to vendor is created against this purchase requiesion.
    thanks

  • What are the better IDE's for Mac (Java and C++)?

I'm switching over to Mac's here soon and I'm curious about which products are the best, from others' experiences, for developing Java and C++ applications. On Windows I used NetBeans and IntelliJ (although not as much), but I'm curious if there is Mac specific software that someone might recommend.

Both of the above work fine on Mac (I used IntelliJ exclusively for Java development).  For C++ I use Qt Creator and sometimes Xcode.

  • What are the config steps for contract hierarchies and vendor hierarchies?

    Hi friends
what are the config steps for contract hierarchies and vendor hierarchies?
    Regards
    Raj Kumar

    Contract hierarchies
A function that enables users authorized to create a purchasing contract to define relationships between super- and subordinate contracts.
A contract hierarchy consists of one or multiple contracts and is subject to the following rules:
The top node of the hierarchy cannot have a superordinate contract
Every contract except for the top node has exactly one superordinate contract
Every contract can have none, one, or multiple subordinate contract(s)
A contract can be part of no hierarchy or exactly one hierarchy
Note:Contract hierarchies are only available for purchasing contracts. They are not available for global outline agreements.
You can activate this from SRM Server> Cross application settings>Activate Hierarchies for Product Categories, Vendors, and Contracts.
    Note:
These hierarchy functions should not be reset once they have been activated.
Similiarly you can do this for Vendor Hirerachies.

  • Trying to setup airport for 1st time and it will not connect to internet, we also did not create a new network and cannot find this option again

Trying to setup airport for 1st time and it will not connect to internet?

You might try doing a reset of your AirPort unit.  Use a pen or paper clip to press in on the recessed reset button while you plug it in, then continue to keep the button pressed until the status light flashes several times,
For more advice, please describe all your networking gear.

  • How to create pdk java struts portlet in jdeveloper 11g

    Hi All,
Im newbie ,I am unable to follow the steps in creating struts portlet on using Oracle portal developers guide in Jdeveloper 11g .can any one tell me the step by step procedure of creating struts portlet or any other related links.
FYI:I stuck up in the guide which didn't explain how to create struts-config.xml( and its structure) and also how to create view and page flow .
In the book they gave as :"To create a new view, first create a new set of ActionMappings (page flow) that will redirect the various actions and requests to Portal-specific JSPs. "
Please help me on this, Thanks in Advance,

    You are mixing versions.
JDev 11g needs the 11g SOA version (download from here )or use JDev10g together with Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.1.0

  • ECM 11.1.1.5.0 - need steps for SSO integration and configuration

    Hi,
I want to upgrade recent UCM 10g to ECM (or Webcenter Content) 11g. I passed via upgrade process and it looks it is working fine. Need some validation, but basically upgrade went fine.
But I lost SSO (Windows Login) functionality, asi this ECM 11g is weblogic based and uses a bit different authentication than old version.
My current test instance setup is:
    Oracle database 11gR2
    Weblogic 10.3.6.0
Oracle Enterprise Content Management Suite (ECM) 11.1.1.5.0
All running on the same linux machine
Currently I am only able to:
    - define static users / groups in the weblogic's default authenticator
    - define ldap authenticator in weblogic which can authenticate users defined in ldap
And I need to make it SSO capable (meant once user is authenticated in our windows domain, then when using Internet Explorer there is no need to enter user/password anymore)
I read some documentation and there they claim Oracle Identity Management / Access Manager is the right solution. But I do not know how to properly install and configuration of this.
Is there anybody here in this world who would provide some simple steps what needs to be done for enabling SSO for ECM 11.1.1.5.0 ?
When I read oracle documentation I am finding it to be written too much in general with too many referencing to too many other documents... I am searching for some kind of simplified installation guide for getting this SSO thing working.
Anybody here who could support me?

    Hi
Steps for integration SSO (be it OAM or Oracle SSO or AD / LDAP etc ) the steps remain same except for one .
    1. On WLS create the identity store provider .
This can be OID Authenticator , AD Authenticator , LDAP Authenticator depending on what you are using to store the users and their roles /groups etc .
    2. Create SSO Identity Asserter .
This should be either AD Asserter (in case of using AD) , OAM Identity Asserter (if using OAM) , SSO Asserter (if using OID based SSO solution) .
    3. Order the providers created in the following order and the respective flag settings :
    Identity Asserter - REQUIRED
    Identity Store Provider - SUFFICIENT
    Default Authenticator - SUFFICIENT
After this is created stop UCM and WLS .
Start WLS admin , once it is up and running start UCM server .
Go to WLS - Security Realm - myrealm - Users and groups and verify the right set of users are seen with their correct groups .
Now launch UCM server and depending on which SSO solution is used the login page will vary where in the SSO user id / pwd can be entered .
    Hope this helps .
    Thanks

  • Article to setup Extreme for N only and optimize settings?!?!

I just replaced an older b/g AIrport Extreme with a newer dual band N version of Airport Extreme. I also replaced my Express b/g with an N version as well. I have the Extreme connected to my Verizon FIOS modem by ethernet and manually configured to "bridge" mode with the goal of maximizing the FIOS speed that can be obtained (versus extending the FIOS wireless network from the Verizon router). I am totally confused about what steps to take to ensure that my new "bridged" network with the Extreme and, subsequently, the Express, only use N and not a/b/g WiFi for the network. I have Airport Utility v5.5. Is there an article or another post that goes through this step by step... for dummies I have found a bunch of posts that address this general topic, but the feedback provided to the OP is usually assuming I know some piece of info that I just don't actually know... one step ahead of me. Thanks for any guidance or feedback to point me in the right direction!

You mentioned in your post that you had manually configured the AirPort Extreme (AEBS) to act as a “bridge” for your Fios router, so I assume that you have likely already configured some other aspects of the AEBS at this time, so I will not go into a lot of detail on some items that are normally fairly intuitive.
If you have not already installed the software that came on the CD with your AEBS, it would be a good idea to do so as some of the most recent dual band products are using a version of AirPort Utility that is not yet available for download from Apple’s site and its also likely that you have a more recent version of the firmware for the AEBS which is also not available for download.
In general, I think it helps most users to temporarily connect an ethernet cable from their computer to one of the LAN <-> ports on the AEBS to configure the device rather than trying to use wireless. So, if you are having difficulty with wireless in trying to configure the AEBS, use the ethernet option.
Speaking of ethernet, you mentioned that you wanted the best performance possible for your network and that would start with the ethernet cables. Make sure they are either CAT5e or CAT6 cables to take advantage of the Gigabit speeds that the AEBS is capable of handling.
Open Airport Utility and click Manual Setup
Click the Base Station tab below the row of icons to enter a name for your device and a device password along with time and time zone settings
Next, click the Wireless tab next to the Base Station tab to display the wireless settings page
Wireless Mode would be Create a wireless network
Wireless Network Name is your choice
Put a check mark in the box next to Allow this network to be extended
Radio Mode should be 802.11n only 5 GHz to provide the fastest speed possible.
You may need to hold down the “option” key on your computer while you click on the selection box to display all the available choices. If you later find that the 5 GHz setting does not penetrate as well as hoped, you will need to return to this area to change the setting to 802.11n only 2.4 GHz
Channel…hold down the option key again when you click on this box. Select one of the higher numbered channels.
Wireless Security would be WPA2 Personal
    Wireless Password is your choice
Click the Wireless Options button and make sure there is a check mark next to Use Wide Channels and click Done
Click the Internet icon in the row of icons and check the Connection Sharing setting at the bottom. It should be set to “Off (Bridge Mode)”
Click Update at the lower right and the AEBS will restart in 20-30 seconds and the light should turn green.
Now, take your Macbook and test to make sure that you can get a good internet connection near the AEBS. If so, move your Macbook to the room and position it as close as possible to the location where the AirPort Express (AX) will be installed and check to make sure that you get a good internet connection.
Hold down the “option” key on your computer while you click on the fan shaped Airport icon at the top of your screen. Look for the Transmit Rate number and jot that down for future reference. Move your Macbook around to other locations between the AEBS and the AX location and you will see that the Transmit Rate changes. It will be higher near the AEBS and will fall off as you move away from the AEBS.
Also, please download Air Radar and use the Scan feature at the lower right of the window to get a different look at the signal strength of your AEBS network. Air Radar is not free, but there is a 15 day trial period. Look at the Fios network as well in terms of signal strength where the AX will be located.
You can also use Air Radar to locate any other visible wireless networks in the area to help identify them in case you experience wireless interference issues.
    At the tentative AX location,
What is the Transmit Rate that you see?
How strong is the signal from the AEBS in terms of percentage using Air Radar?
How strong is the signal from the Fios router in terms of percentage using Air Radar?
If you connect your Macbook to the Fios network, can you get a Transmit Rate number for that?
Please post back on your results and any questions you have to this point and we’ll decide how best to tackle the “extend” challenge. There will likely be some compromise choices to be made on this next step.

  • Setup Help for 2 Wireless and 1 Wired Router!

    Hello,
I hope this is the appropriate forum for this request.  I am helping a neighbor who has just come out of the hospital.  Since he will be homebound for quite sometime, he needs to enhance his home network.  I offered my help and now I am looking for some assistance.  :-)
Currently he has DSL which goes from his DSL modem into Linksys WRTG54G v2 router in a basement.  The wireless signal does not travel very far.  Fortunately there are 3 ethernet jacks that are present.  Two of those jacks run to an office on the first floor, the third runs to the office on the second floor.
Additional equipment we have are a Linksys BEFSR41 v2 wired router and another WRTG54G v6 wireless router.  On the 1st floor there are 3 devices which need to be connected (a PC, a Mac and an HP printer) and the second floor is where he will be roaming with the laptop.
Given this, my guess the best setup would be:
Basement the wired router running to the three ethernet ports (2 on the first floor, the third on the second floor).
On the First floor, use on of the ethernet extensions to connect the wireless router.  Then from the router ports, connect to the 3 devices (PC, Mac, HP printer) via ethernet.  This will also send out a wireless signal if a wireless device (laptop) in the vicinity.
Then on the second floor, plug the other wireless router into the ethernet port and have it emit the wireless signal.
I should note that the second floor is really the only floor which is essential to have the wireless signal
    So my questions are this:
1a)Could the above scenario actually work?
1b)Is there are a better setup then what I thought
2a)I imagine that I will need to change the IP for two of the devices from 192.168.1.1 to something like 192.168.2.1 and 192.168.3.1, correct?
2b)In addition I will need to disable DHCP on 2 of the 3 routers, but which one?  I imagine that one on the second floor?
    3) What else do I need to do?
    Thanks in advance!

yes , you can certainly use that kind of a set up...
BEFSR41 in the basement......if you are configuring the wireless router on the first floor for an ethernet to ethernet connection , the ip add on it should be 192.168.1.2 and disable the dhcp....if you go for an ethernet to internet connection then the ip address of the wireless router should be 192.168.2.1....no need to disable the dhcp....
similarly configure the wireless router on the 2nd floor...if an ethernet to ethernet connection then ip add - 192.168.1.3 and dhcp is disabled....and if ethernet to internet connection , then ip add 192.168.3.1....
make the wireless settings unique for each router and so that ensure whether you are connecting to the 1st router or the 2nd router.....

  • SMSY for ERP JAVA and ABAP Stack

Hi Folks - I have installed SAP ERP 6.0 EHP5 in one database called T12. Now there is a need for a Java stack and I have installed the Java stack in another database called J12.
I was able to define the ABAP stack on system landscape and MOPZ is working fine. However, I am not sure how I should go about the Java (J12) instance definidstion on SMSY.
I am using Somlam 7.1 on Oracle Linux system.
ABAP stack is on ERL 6.0 EHP5 and Java stack is Netweaver 7.0 EHP2.
J12 and T12 systems are connected via JCO.
SLD has been defined for both stacks and they are using the local SLD for the SolMan.
    Your help is much appriciated.

Sunny - I checked the SLD and It is working fine. There were couple of issues that I fixed. Since I defined the Java system manually I delete it. Hopefully SLD will populate the definition.
In same note, Would it be possible that installing ERP java and ABAP stack on different hosts (stand alone) is causing this issue, especially they are using different Sid's?
I was reading SAP Note 1344564, It states
III.Some Main Instances include other Main Instances (E.g., in SAP
ERP 6.0, Main Instance SAP NW - Enterprise Portal includes SAP NW -
EP Core.). If the including Main Instance is installed, it's not
necessary to mark the included Main Instance(s) for relevance.
Is this mean in SMSY I do not have to define any product for the Java engine? When installing the Java, I had to create the product manually to be able to generate the installation key.
    Your input is appreciated.
