JDK 7 + Red Hat 6 64-bit = WLS 10.3.6 and WLS 12.1 installer not working
Hi,
I have installed Weblogic 10.3.6 and 12.1 on two different Red Hat 6 64-bit servers. I started out using JDK 7 (1.7.0_05) but when I reached the screen where you select which products to install I could not select or deselect anything with the mouse. On others I could not use the keyboard for input. As soon as I switched to JDK 6 everything worked fine.
As a workaround I installed and configured everything with JDK 6 and switched to JDK 7. This works fine and the developers are happy.
But I have discovered that the I have the same problem when I use config.sh, so it is general problem with the GUI and JDK 7.
I opened a Service Request on MOS in June but I don't think the support guy has much of a clue. He has been testing with Windows. His last suggestion was running the installer with -d64, but according to the manual this should only be used when using a 32/64-bit hybrid JDK, which is not the case.
Anybody has any ideas?
Regards Peter
Hi Peter,
I check the SR well I think it not so see to reproduce in other environment.
But we can instead to engineer to reproduce on their environment.
But as of I would suggest to use command line or silent mode to install wls.
Going through GUI will have many complex issue on OS to OS base so best practice is to have such installation using command line or silent modes.
Note: If engineer is unable to reproduce such issue in their environment then Oracle will not consider that is BUG then there would be issue in your environment only.
Regards,
Kal

Any solutions?
GV JoshiHi gajanan vasant!
I have a couple of articles for you that should help you troubleshoot your issue with Safari. First, you may want to try a reset on Safari by following the procedure listed in this article:
Safari 5.1 (OS X Lion): Reset Safari
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH5043
If you are still having issues after resetting Safari, you may want to check out this article about third-party add-ons in Safari:
Safari: Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3230
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

I have a problem with connecting my iPhone to iTunes. I uninstalled one of the computer program and restart my laptop. After restart my laptop and a message said that iTunes might not working because one of the component is missing and request to reinstall the iTunes. Hence I remove iTunes from my laptop and I reinstall iTunes to my laptop but still not working.
Before this the iTunes will automatically launch when I plug in my iPhone. But after I reinstall iTunes, it's not working. When I try to plug in my iPhone after iTunes launched and message "This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes." popped out. I did this twice but it's not working as well.
Please advise what should I do to fix this.First make sue you are installing the 64 bit version of iTunes.
Second make sure it is iTunes 10.7 or later.
I would download a fresh copy of the 64 bit version of iTunes 11. After installation reboot your computer.
Before connecting your phone reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem. -
Oracle Universal Installer not working for 64 bit
Hi all, since I could not get the 32 bit ODP to work for me I decided to try the 64 bit but when I proceed to lauch the 64 bit installer I get the following message on my 64 bit machine.
Java(tm) 2 Platform Standard Edition binary has stopped working.
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program, and notify you if a solution is available.
Does anyone know why this might be?
Thank you,
JohnI am not sure what an SO is.
As for the OS that I am using. My client Development Machine is running x64 Vista Ultimate and so far nothing works on it.
I am trying to programatically connect to an Oracle Express Edition on a Linux machine that has the same hardware as my dev server above (AMD 64).
I am also trying to not vent on this forum about the poor quality of product that I have experienced so far with Oracle as nothing that I have installed so far has worked. Please see my other recent Posts.
Thank you,

I Hit the download link, get the permission windows, and the flashplayer installer window comes up, but doesn't do anything. i left it up all day when i went to work, come home 12 hours later and it was still just sitting there not installing. Is there a fix for this? i have looked everywhere and nothing that i have found has worked. even the suggestions on the adobe help page doesn't work..
And you used the offline installers from the link that Andy posted:

Flash Player for Firefox - NPAPI
If yes, please post the contents of the FlashInstall.log file in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash -
Wls 10.3 weblogic-webservices.xml transaction-timeout attribute not working
Hi, need some urgent need.
I have a stateless ejb webservice and I'm trying to set the transaction timeout for some of the methods. Right now my webservice transaction is timing out to the default of 30 secs. I've tried setting in the admin console the JTA transaction timeout option, didn't work (file a case with bea support #81233). And after days of researching and searching I came across that you can setup the weblogic webservice transaction-timeout thru the weblogic-webservices.xml deployment descriptor. Tried setting the transaction-timeout attribute to 120 secs. and that didn't work. Here is the snippet of the xml file.
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>

Windows 7 / Photoshop CS5 64-bit installation not working
I think I've followed all the instructions, and I've looked at many previous posts about the same problem, but I'm having no success. I've tried the Run as Administrator upon right clicking the Program Files (x86)>Adobe>Adobe Extension Manager CS5>Adobe Extension Manager CS5.exe file both before and after the no-permission window shows up. Even before double clicking on the mxp file. When I click OK to close the no-permission window, the installation seems to run, but nothing ever shows up.
Maybe I'm doing something silly, but I can't seem to make it work.Did you right-click Extension Manager CS5, select "Run as administrator," and then open the Pixel Bender plugin extension by selecting "Install Extension" from Extension Manager's File menu and navigating to the Pixel Bender plugin extension?

Oracle Upgrade 8.1.7.4 to 10g in Red hat linux
Dear All,
We are planning to upgrade our oracle database from 8i to 10g along with the Redhat linux upgrade from 2.4.9-e 27 ent to Red Hat Linux 5. In my study and also from Installation guides and oracle upgrade guides I made sure that its possible to upgrade our database from 8.1.7.4.
So I have planned the below options to do the same and not sure about the possibilities. If anyone have thoughts and idea on the same please suggest me.
We dont have plan to migrate the development hardware and the sap version is 4.7E
Option 1: Upgrade the Linux to 5 and then upgrading the database to 10g usign upgrade assistant tool
Option 2: Export the database using sapinst tool and then crashing the server. Installing linux5 and importing the database using sapinst tool.(I am aware this is not a good idea since there is no migration in hardware but it will be helpful in production since we are migrating the production system).
Option 3: Performing DBUA assistant in development and sapinst method in production.(helpful in disaster recovery)
Could you please suggest on the same?
My query is that.
If i am performing oracle export from 8.1.7.4 and if i am import the same in oracle 10g using the sapinst tool. Will this work? or it will create a problem in table level. I am looking for answers for this Question. Kindly explain me on this.

Oracle 10g database installation in red hat 5
what are the packages needed for oracle 10g database installation in red hat 5?
what do you mean by yum way of installation?Check on the release notes for your platform
This is for x86-64 Linux.. read it all, then you'll find the "6 Documentation Corrections and Additions" section you'll find the RPMs that you need
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/relnotes.102/b15666/toc.htm
then go to the official doc installation of 10gR2 on x86-64 Linux
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/install.102/b15667/toc.htm
Yum is a package management tool. This is what you'll be using to install the RPMs. But first you'll have to setup the Yum repository, usually what I do is stage the DVD media on the server then make it as a repository. If ever there's a specific (higher) version that I need then I just pull it on the RedHat Network.
There are a lot of HOWTOs about Yum. You may read on this link http://docs.fedoraproject.org/yum/en/

Installing 10R2 in Red Hat AS4.0
I am trying to install the 10R2 in Red Hat AS4.0 but after the runInstaller check the patches it can not install and send this message :
I can not write in the directory OraInstall< > the directory is write protected of the filesystem don't have enough room, The oracle installer need 60 MB freeThe error message is straight forward. You need to verify you have enough free space. It requires space on the temp directory, (/tmp), in case /tmp does not have enough free space, you have to declare the TMP or TEMP environment variables to point to a suitable directroy where enough free space is available.

How to upgrdae Oracle Cluster on Red Hat Linux 3 to Red hat Linux 4 AS U 7
We need to upgrade our Clustered (2 Nodes) Oracle Database environment on Linux environment to Red Hat 4 AS 7. The current OS version is Red Hat 3 update 6. We use EMC SAN Storage as shared storage (OCFS and Raw Devices) for our 9i and 10g databases
Question: We will install (on local disks) Red Hat 4 AS Update 7 and then install ocfs and ASMlib RPMs. Is there any risk of loosing the existing (on Red Hat 3 update 6) ocfs file systems and raw devices (from EMC SAN Storgae) after we do fresh install of OS and ocfs and ASMlib RPMs? How can we keep the shared storage data quickly available (without restore from the backup) to the system after installing Red Hat 4 AS Update 7 and mentioned RPMs?Tommy,

Get the official installation guides at
http://service.sap.com/instguides
However, they won't contain "now enter command X and now enter command Y". You will need to have a basic understanding what you are doing before you can install a SAP system (and the database).

TD340 Red Hat Linux 6.4 during start up give Kernel Panic
I am a newbie and please forgive my newness
I recently bought a TD340 with 32GB Ram, OB SAS RAID 300.
While using the ThinkServer EasyStart up to configure the installation of Red Hat Linux 6.4. I am able to finish the installation successfull, however, after the installation is completed and and Linux 6.4 boots up, in the middle of the start up a I get the following message:
Kernel Panic - not syncing - attempted to kill
Pid: 1 comm: init not tainted 2.6.39-400.17.1
Call Trace:
and it nevers boots up sucessfully.
Any help would be appreciated. It clearly mentions its bootstrap issue in Java stack. The bootstrap log files can be found in /usr/sap/<SID>/JC<XX>/work/ folder.
dev_bootstrap* ; log_bootstrap* ; jvm_bootstrap*.
In one of these files, it will be mentioned, synchronization exception...Database initialization failed.
90% of the issue is caused dude to Database not getting initilized or its not connected or userauthorizations missing or driver class secured in the Secure store is incorrect.
