Jmemprof, JVMPI on IBM 64-bit (1.4.2) - please help

Hi,
I have struggled for days to plug the 'jmemprof' (http://oss.metaparadigm.com/jmemprof/) JVMPI profiler into the IBM JDK 1.4.2 (on SUSE 9 Linux, 64-but machine). I get the following message:
test@linux-Test:~/opt/XiriuzServer> ./startupWithProfiling.sh
JVMCI158: Can't load "libjmemprof.so", because libjmemprof.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
JVMCI098: xmloadJVMHelperLib jmemprof , failed
Could not create the Java virtual machine.
The launch script contains the following (it basically starts the Jetty web container):
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=lib
$JAVA_HOME/bin/java -Djava.library.path=lib -Xrunjmemprof -Xms512m -Xmx1024m -Xbootclasspath/p:/home/uat/opt/JavaProbe/classes/boot -jar start.jar
No matter what I do, I am unable to get it to pick up the shared object. The exact same setup, using Sun JDK on a Intel 32-bit machine, works perfectly.
What is different with IBM's JDK? I tried many things, including LIBPATH environment variable, putting .so in same directory, putting it in /usr/lib, etc. To no avail.
Does anybody have experience with JVMPI on IBM 64-bit? Help would be greatly appreciated.

  • 64 bit compilation using gcc - please help

    Hi All,
    My system runs on
    SunOS SUNSMART 5.9 Generic_112233-08 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-280R
i have a c program which compiles and runs perfectly. Now i came to know that using the -xarch=v9 option with the gcc which compiling we can produce a 64 bit executable. I compiled the program like this
    gcc -c GbmCashTran.c
    gcc -o GbmCashTran GbmCashTran.o *.so -xtarget=native -xarch=sparcv9 -lsocket
but when i check whether it has compiled as 64 bit executable using the 'file' command like
    file GbmCashTran
    it gives the result as
GbmCashTran: ELF 32-bit MSB executable SPARC Version 1, dynamically linked, not stripped
    why is this???
Please tell me how to compile this c program into a 64 bit executable.......
    tanx
    bala

By all the accounts I've seen, gcc 2.95.x will produce 64-bit executables for SPARC. The first version which appears to work (after significant handholding) is gcc 3.0. You can see a fairly good description of how to bootstrap the gcc 3.0 build into a working 64-bit compiler here
    http://www.well.com/~jax/rcfb/solaris_tips/build_gcc_3.0_64bit.html
Also, you can find prebuilt and installable versions of gcc at
    http://sunfreeware.com/
I think the version there is 3.3.2

I am trying to download iTunes on my new desktop computer (Windows 7, 64 bit).  It starts installing, and then stops with the message- "The System Administrator has set policies to prevent this installation." This is a stand alone computer and I am the sole user.   Please help.

This is a Microsoft Windows Issue.
    From a MS Support Engineer:
    "Hi,
    ·        Is the computer on a domain?
    ·        Is the issue isolated to only this software or you get the same error message with other software’s as well?
Try the steps below and check if it helps.
    Step 1:
Run the software setup file as an administrator and check if it helps.
    a. Right click on the setup file of the software that you are trying to install.
    b. Select “Run as administrator”.
    Step 2:
Temporarily disable the antivirus software running on the computer and check if you are able to install the software.
    Disable antivirus software
    Warning:
Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
    Step 3:
    a. Click Start, type "Local Security Policy" (without quotes) and press enter.
    b. Click on Software Restriction Policies.
    c. In the right pane, double click on the "enforcement".
    d. Select “All users except local administrators”.
    e. Click Ok and restart the computer and check if the issue is fixed."

  • PLEASE HELP ME. 12.1.1 itunes does NOT work for my windows 7 64 bit

I have read all the tutorials on here and elsewhere online and nothing works. My cousin goes to school for MIS help and she couldnt even figure out whats going on.
I HAVE DONE THIS NUMEROUS TIMES!
    - Made sure my windows had all the necessary updates and everything was installed.
    - I uninstalled ALL itunes products in the proper order according to apple discussions.
    - Went through all the folders in program files.
    - Reinstalled it and I get an error message. ( Apple mobile device service (apple mobile device service) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services )
    - I have gone through the Services window and tried stopping and restarting the program but I get an error message. (Windows could not start the Apple  Mobile Device Service service on Local Computer - Error 1053: the service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion) I have gone through all the start and stop tutorials and none of them have worked.
    - I have tried clicking ignore and sometimes it finishes installing but then gives me an new error message. ( iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (windows error 193) - I tried reinstalling and nothing.
    - I tried finding the ituneshelper download but couldnt find it, I've also tried repairing and nothing works.
    - I had downloaded and older version of itunes a few days ago that WAS working the 12.1 version (NOT 12.1.1)  but then my cousin came to see if she could fix it and now I can't even download that version.
I am OUT OF options and I dont want to have to spend the money on support. Can some one PLEASE HELP ME!!! I have been trying to fix this for days.

Here is the error I get:

  • Ipod mini 2nd gen 1 gb: not detected by laptop (win 7 64 bit), if detected: error during autofill and cannot be restored, please help :D

My laptop does not detect my ipod mini (2nd gen 1 gb), when i connect it the orange light flashe 2 or 3 times then nothing happens. if ever that it will be detected by my laptop and when i sync music on it there will be an error and itunes will suggest to restore it to its factory setting and if i choose to restore it error 3194 happens. so my top priority of course is for it to be detected then fix the latter. please help any will be much appreciated

This is an Answer for a Possible Solution. It worked for me and is still working. The issue I was having with my 64 bit vista, was Apple Mobile Device Service was not being installed, I dont know why. But I disabled any active running program through MSCONFIG, to allow a clean uninterrupted install of ITUNES 8.02. This allowed AMDS and drives from ITUNES to install. Hope this works for most of you.
APPLE, please review your Support Methods. Re-installing doesnt help an issue that resulted from installing.

  • Please Help! Problems with Windows Vista 32-bit on Boot Camp (Wireless/Etc)

We recently purchased a new aluminum Mac Book (13 inch) with Leopard (10.5.4). I attempted to install Boot Camp and Windows Vista 32-bit. I can successfully alternate between both operating systems with no problems. However, I am having 2 problems:
    1) I cannot connect to wireless internet. No connections will even show up when I attempt to connect, its almost as if an adapter hasn't been installed.
    2) I cannot set up the trackpad to do right click.
I've read articles everywhere and nothing has helped. Can anybody please help me??? Any support/advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
    - Pierce

    dpierceNKC:
    Welcome to the Apple discussions.
It appears that you may not have installed the boot camp drivers. Boot into Windows and insert your Leopard installation disk in the CD/DVD drive. This should automatically begin installation of the necessary drivers. Reboot the computer when instructed and all the hardware should work as designed.
The right click is accomplished by placing two fingers on the trackpad and then depressing the trackpad button. This should also work after the drivers are installed as instructed above.

  • I am unable to update, uninstall, or reinstall iTunes on my laptop.  Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bits.  Error code is 2330.  Can somebody please help me?

I am unable to update, uninstall, or reinstall iTunes on my laptop.  Everything was working fine until recently when there was an update available for iTunes, and when I tried to update this, I got the message, "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package.  This may indicate a problem with this package. Error code is 2330."  Can somebody please help me?
    System configuration:
    Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bits.
    Version:  6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
    System Directory:  C:\Windows\system32
    RAM:  1.00 GB.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
