Job Scheduling in Solution Manager - Error creating Periodic Job

Hi all,
I am in the process of testing the Job Scheduling functionality using the Solution Manager.  I have setup the criteria manager, ec. in the satellite system, and done the config in Solman as well.
I am able to successfully setup up a 'on-time' job.
it's only when I try to setup a periodic job, I end up getting following error
Any thoughts?  Is there any piece of config that's missing?  All the SICF services needed for this functionality are running fine.
Thanks for the help.

Hello,
This is the basic Job Scheduling functionality and not the Redwood Job scheduling, correct?
Have you performed the IMG Activiteis in SPRO?
See the following Help link:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm70ehp1_sp23/helpdata/en/c5/7edcbd58ce4e29bc1baf1c4761d71f/frameset.htm
Change a job
You can change the scheduling of a job as long as it has not been completed. Proceed as follows:
Make changes.
Note
When you change a periodic job, the system searches for the changeable successor and only changes this successor.
If there is more than one changeable job with the same name, the system does not change any of these jobs.
End of the note.
Save your entries.
To release the job in the target system, select Release.
You go to the transaction SM37 in the target system.
You just may want to ensure HTTP Services have been enabled. I realize you said the services workin SICF, but this needs to be verified as 500 Internal Server Error most often means the HTTP services are not activated.

Paul

    Hi Pedro,
I insert my answer from a similar thread.
As a pitty, that's a well known error.
    Please check [SAP Note 727998|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/727998]
Basically, these three steps needs to be performed:
    1) BDL_DELETE_ALL_TABLES
    2) SDCCN - Refresh Service Definitions
    3) Generate Logfuncs
    SE37: /BDL/_GENERATE_LOGFUNCINCLUDES
    OPTION: ALL
It's also described in the Implementation Guide (IMG), transaction SPRO in the SAP Solution Manager system:
SAP Solution Manager -> Configuration -> Basic Settings -> Standard Configuration of Basic Settings -> Solution Manager -> Service Data Control Center
-> Activate the Service Data Control Center in the Solution Manager
-> Generate Includes for Service Data Contol Center
With the next ST-PI Support Package. The steps can be triggered via the menu of transaction SDCCN.

  • Solution Manager 7.1 SP04 - Job SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFMONITOR

    Dear Experts
I got an issue with some differences between what SolMan Setup did and SAP Note 966309 for TCOLL in SAP_BASIS 700 - 702 sais.
SolMan Setup creates the job SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFMONITOR with the following step in working client 001:
    1  RSCOLL00             ABAP                             SOLMAN_BTC EN
According to SAP Note 966309, this job is supposed to run as user DDIC (or any other with same rights) in client 000. On top, there are a lot of differences between SAP Note 966309 and the content of TCOLL.
Would you change TCOLL according to this SAP Note or would you hang on what SolMan Setup did?
    Thanks for short answer.
    Regards, Michael

    Michael,
This note is clear regarding the client and user:Note 16083 - Standard jobs, reorganization jobs
and this note is release independent.
If you check using RTCCTOOL you'll be able to see a recommendation regarding TCOLL:
    7. [Note 12103  ]    Collectors and TCOLL
Description     Planning table TCOLL for SAP workload collectors for 700 (note 966309  )
Implementation  Press the lights icon to get the detailed check log.
Add missing entries to table TCOLL using ST03N > Expert Mode > Collector
and Performance DB > Performance Monitor Collector > Execution Times.
Schedule RSCOLL00 as an hourly batch job if not scheduled.
"schedule standard jobs" steps is required if the jobs are not scheduled already:
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SMSETUP/Basic+Configuration
"In the activities schedule Background jobs and standard jobs different jobs are scheduled. The Background job that are scheduled are jobs for the housekeeping of SAP Solution Manager. The standard jobs are the same jobs as the jobs scheduled in transaction SM36 --> u201EStandard Jobs" and schedules jobs for general SAP housekeeping. Please make sure that the jobs are not already scheduled in SM36 before executing this activity. "
    Cheers,
    Diego.

Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE
please help me , what should i do ?
I am waiting for your positive response.
    Regards
    Shubh

    hi,
    You can try following ....
    For the job SEND_SYSTEM_RELATIONSHIP_TO_SUP
    Program : AI_SC_SEND_SYSTEM_RELATIONSHIP
    1. Up to Support Package 09:
    a) Start transaction SMSY.
    b) Choose Shft+F5.
    c) Select the system named in the message.
    d) Choose F6.
    e) Select the "System Data in SAP Support Portal" tab.
    f) Using the input help, fill the system number field with the correct system.
    g) Save the data.
    2. Up to and including Support Package 08:
    a) Start transaction SOLMAN_CONNECT.
    b) Select the system in question in the ID field and choose the filter pushbutton.
    c) Select the system and select "Create configuration".
    d) Fill the system number field using the input help with the correct system.
    e) For example, select the "BW GUI Connection" service type.
    f) Carry out all of the subsequent steps of the Configuration Assistant until you see the "Finish" pushbutton.
This establishes a unique relationship between your system in the Solution Manager and the system number in the SAP Support Portal. Problems no longer occur with this system when the SEND_SYSTEM_RELATIONSHIP_TO_SUPP job is next run. However, the problem may still exist for other systems (in these cases, you should follow the same steps).
Hope this will help to solve your issue..

    HI Kailash
Can you check the listener with lsnrctl? If know message is found then you have a problem with the listener .
And to solve this do the below steps:
lsnrctl status does not work becos of wrongly set LIBPATH variable.
LIBPATH for orasid should be $ORACLE_HOME/lib whereas the current
setting is quite different. Also LD_LIBRARY_PATH needs to contain instant client directory

  • Solution Manager - Error Message DSWP349 -  No IBASE Components Exist ...

The subject error DSWP349 occurs when using transaction Notif_Create for a new Service Desk Message.
The error message points to the use of IB52/IB53 which has already been correctly (as far as I can tell) used to set up the IBASE components.
The error message also point to Note 824640 which I have checking out and also points to Note 1059271 from SAP Service Marketplace.
I am going to try and apply some of those notes' recommendations but as they do not seem directly relevant, am looking for any other suggestions in the meantime; for example, if anyone has an printout example of how the IBASE and its lovely components should look in IB52/IB53 that would be most appreciated !
Last point.  Maybe part of the problem is that our SAP Solution Manager only links to one other internal SAP system and is not 'connected' to SAP AG (as it is an external system - this for security reasons), however we do have, for example, some external RFCs entered as part of the configuration.
    Thanks all.

    Hi
The issue is now resolved, this is how I did it.
    1) Removed entries from BCOS_CUST from client 000 for OSS_MSG which was pointing to the RFC name
    Then got another error:
No RFC connection to the central lock information management system.
The project lock functionality is active in the local system, but there is no RFC connection to the Solution Manager system.
2a) Ran the report in SA38 TMW_CONTROL_PROJECT_LOCK with selection for Deactivate the "project lock functionality".
    2) Filled the "Deactivate Project Lock" field with "X" then clicked EXECUTE.
    Problem got Solved.
    Thanks

  • Solution Manager error (icm/host_full_name)

    Hello All,
I am executing "solution_manager" in the Solution Manager system and immediately I get this error, "Profile parameter icm/host_name_full is not set correctly (see long text)".
The help, gives me the follwoing information :
"Set the profile parameter icm/host_name_full correctly. For more information, see SAP Notes 434918 and 677118."
Both notes were not of much help!
I have set the instance profile parameter called "icm/host_name_full" and set its value to the server's FQDN. Also excecuted SMICM to restart ICM. But, still I keep getting this error.
I restart SAP also, just to check if that is going to help, but to no avail.
    Am I missing something?
Really appreciate any help in this regard.
    Thanks in advance!
    Sapna

  • Batch job scheduling based on Event AND for the job to complete

I am trying to schedule a background job based on an event AND based on the job finishing itself.
    Example:
    Job name: Send_Message
    After Event: SAP_NEW_PROCESS Message
    Program:  Program xxxx
I want that the Send_Message job only runs when the Event SAP_NEW_PROCESS message happens AND the Send_Message job is not running.
Right now, I could only schedule it based on the event SAP_NEW_PROCESS Message which means that everytime this event happens the job runs and I end up having the job "Send_Message" in multilple intances where the others will immediately cancel since the first job is still running and so I end up with a lot of Cancelled job when it is not necessary to run them all when there is already 1 instance of the Job running.
How do I set it up in SAP?

Thanks but I am new to SAP having to set up a batch job.
The Event "SAP_NEW_PROCESS_MESSAGES" is a standard SAP Event.  We used that such that when a new transaction comes in, the batch job will run but we don't want to run the batch job if the same batch job is already running.
YOu mentioned that I should set up Job_0.  Do I need to create an ABAP prorgram to check if JOB_1 is running?  How do I set up Job_0?  What is the trigger for my Job_0 to run?
You also said that I set up Job_1 and trigger that based on the outcome of Job_0 AND at the same time be triggered by the event "SAP_NEW_PROCESS_MESSAGES".  How do I set up  this Job_1 so that it can be triggered by both Job_0 and a new transaction coming in(SAP_NEW_PROCESS_MESSAGES).
if you can provide me the step by step guide as I am new to this and I only know basic.
The current set up I have is
    Job_1
    Job Start:
          After Event
                Event: SAP_NEW_PROCESS_MESSAGES
Step 1: program to run RCOCB002
I was thinking following your suggestion is this:
    Job_0
    Job Start
          After Event
                Event: SAP_NEW_PROCESS_MESSAGES
Step 1: program to run - What will be my program to run?
    Job_1
    Job_Start
          After Event
Event: What will be my trigger for Job_1 and how do I set it up?
Step 1: program to run RCOCB002

  • Solution Manager error "The termination type was: RABAX_STATE "

    Hello All,
I was tasked with setting up security for our new SAP Solman Project Managment solution and ran into the following errors while testing.
    BACKGROUND:
User type was application consultant and was prompted by business test users that this type of user should be allowed to create issues in issue management but not allowed to delete issues in issue management. Only Project Managers should. Removed the 06 delete authorization from CRM_ORD_PR auth_obj and instead of getting "you are not authorized" error message (what is expected) user is thrown to the below exception page:

    What can I do?
If the termination type was RABAX_STATE, then you can find more information on the cause of the termination in the system DM1 in transaction ST22.
If the termination type was ABORT_MESSAGE_STATE, then you can find more information on the cause of the termination on the application server sapdc004_DM1_00 in transaction SM21.
If the termination type was ERROR_MESSAGE_STATE, then you can search for more information in the trace file for the work process 1 in transaction ST11 on the application server sapdc004_DM1_00 . In some situations, you may also need to analyze the trace files of other work processes.
If you do not yet have a user ID, contact your system administrator.

An exception occurred that was not caught.
    What happened?
The exception 'CX_DSWP_CI_OBJECT' was raised, but it was not caught anywhere
    along
    the call hierarchy.
Since exceptions represent error situations and this error was not
adequately responded to, the running ABAP program
    'CL_DSWP_CI_CRM_BUFFER=========CP' has to be
    terminated.
    What can you do?
Note down which actions and inputs caused the error.
To process the problem further, contact you SAP system

Using Transaction ST22 for ABAP Dump Analysis, you can look
at and manage termination messages, and you can also
keep them for a long time.

I did some searches on possible notes but none seemed to be appropriate and I would like to get as much information as possible before sending this over to the Basis team for resolution.

To solve this issue please make sure that

    Hi
    1) Check the dev_w* trace of the work process corresponding to the entry in the system log, to get more information on "Transaction Canceled 00 671 "
    2) DBIF_RSQL_SQL_ERROR- refers to database error in the RSQL module of the database interface, usually relating to timeouts. See Note 976203 - Interception of background jobs: Timeout
    3) Contact ABAP team and see what they have to say on this, as mentioned in the dump:
"The termination is caused because exception "CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB" occurred in
procedure "RESCHEDULE_PERIODIC_JOBS" "(FORM)", but it was neither handled
locally nor declared in the RAISING clause of its signature. "
    4) Moreover, the ABAP program SAPMSSY2 is used to switch operation modes assigned to instances, refer : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/c4/3a5f1f505211d189550000e829fbbd/content.htm
    5) The most common cause for an operation mode switch failing is inconsistencies in the total number of work processes or in the profiles. You must define the whole 24u2212hour range for operation modes to work. You cannot leave any time period unassigned, otherwise the switch will not be possible and can cause problems in the background processing system. check the operation mode from control panel refer: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/c4/3a5f7a505211d189550000e829fbbd/content.htm
    6) Explore the follwoing cases as well:
SAP note Note 208924 - Operation mode switch incorrect
SAP Note 1082783 - Work processes hang after operation mode switching
