possibly because an optionPane contains a number of panels/other components which (unless opaque false) would cover the image

    ul.MenuBarHorizontal li.MenuBarItemIE
    display: inline;
    f\loat: left;
    background: #FFF;

    Because I can't see your site and code in context, I will make a guess that this style is throwing off your alignment:
    /* Menu item containers, position children relative to this container and are a fixed width */
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal li
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    list-style-type: none;
    font-size: 100%;
    position: relative;
    text-align: center;
    cursor: pointer;
    width: 160px;
    float: left;
    background-image: url(file:///E|/MAIN_website/images/menu_background.jpg);
    Remove the text-align:center; from the above style.
    Instead of centering your list element (li), center the link text (a) itself:
    /* Menu items are a light gray block with padding and no text decoration */
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal a
    display: block;
    cursor: pointer;
    padding: 0.5em 0.75em;
    color: #FFF;
    text-align: center;
    text-decoration: none;
    font-family: Cambria, Arial, sans-serif;
    font-size: 14px;
    If you don't want the submenu text to be centered, do this immediately after the previous style:
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul a {text-align: left;}
    The sub-submenus are also set up by default to be jogged a bit to the right. You can adjust this style:
    /* Submenus should appear slightly overlapping to the right (95%) and up (-5%) */
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul ul
    position: absolute;
    margin: -5% 0 0 95%;
    that causes sub-submenus to fly out to the right of the submenus to which they attach.
    Submenus themselves (not the sub-submenus) should fall directly under the top menu item by default, once you remove the text-align: center; on the li item (above).

  • Css background image stopped working despite no code change

    My background image was working fine. Then, without me changing the code, it stopped working. The URL I referred to exists and ends in .jpg.
    When I first load Thimble the background shows up for a split second, then disappears again.
    Here is the code
    background-color:#051c1c;
    background-image:url("http://www.rosesandrattlesnakes.com/cssbg.jpg");
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    background-size: cover;
    background-attachment: fixed;
    background-position: top center;
    color:white;
    font-family:'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;
    text-align:center;
    padding:0;
    I tried removing the quotation marks. That didn't fix it. Tried removing www. That didn't fix it. Tried making the link https. That didn't fix it.
    Also, hints doesn't work, whether the checkbox is ticked or not.
    Gotta say Thimble kinda sucks. Sorry

  • Looks like JOptionPane setLocation did not work??

    Hi,Sir:
    I hope to put following JOptionPane dialog box in any place I want, such as 100,100 from top left origin in window.

        String response = jo.showInputDialog
          ( "What is your first name?????" );
            System.out.println(response);

    is it a bug??Yes, its a bug with your code.
    showInputDialog(...) is a static method. It does not use the instance of the Object.
    Read the JOptionPane API. It explains how to create and use a JOption pane directly. Search for the text "Direct Use".

  • Why PhotoBooth can't get the background images to work properly on the picture

    Why PhotoBooth can get the background images to work properly on the picture, is it because too much luminosity in the environment or too little? I have tried everything and nothing works.

    Might try this...
    Go to System Preferences > Universal Access and down in the Display: section make sure that the Enhance contrast: slider is all the way to left to Normal, or more to the right for less Contrast.
    Go to System Preferences > Accessibility in 10.8.x,and down in the Display: section make sure that the Enhance contrast: slider is all the way to left to Normal, or more to the right for less Contrast.

  • RH 8 Shed images not working

    1.  Shed images not working as of Nov. 12 2009

    Hi all
    Thanks for all the info - but I'm still stumped. I have tried generating my .chm
    files to the default SSL folders, manually copying all the child chms to the SSL
    folder for the master project, letting RH copy them, generating all chms to an
    external folder... no matter what I do, every time I recompile the master
    project it picks up random old stuff. I have checked and rechecked that my
    merged TOC items are to the latest child chms...
    Sometimes when I recomplie the master project, even the content in that reverts
    back to a previous version, sometimes it doesn't...
    I have looked at the Merged Files list in the hhp file, I have deleted this file
    and started my merge from scratch, I have manually deleted some paths (some
    paths are to directories on the server where any files for this project have
    long since been deleted...) directly in this file, but again every time I
    recompile the master project it picks up random old versions of the child chms (
    and the huge list of old merged files are put back in the hhp file. Even when I
    delete all chms from all locations in the folder I'm working in on my C drive,
    delete all the merged TOC items from the master project, save it, and
    recompile it, the list of old merged files reappears in the hhp file).
    Any more thoughts gratefully received:-)
    Also - I don't have a Baggage Files folder??
    One more thing... If I delete ALL the files under Merged Files in the hhp file using HTML Help Workshop, it crashes

    Using either of the 4 examples shown below, to have a background image display inside about:blank worked in Firefox 3.x (using Stylish add-on), however since Firefox 4, only using the base64 encoded version of images works. Encoding the image makes the stylish file absolutely huge, & a real pain to keep encoding whenever I want to change the image.

  • Background image not cached in browser

    Hi,
    Using JDeveloper 11g R1.
    We have a template, with a PanelGroupLayout component with a background image, like follows:
    <af:panelGroupLayout layout="horizontal"
    inlineStyle="width:100%; height:2px; background-image:url(&quot;images/separacioRalles.jpg&quot;); background-repeat:repeat-x;"
    id="pt_pgl5">
    In runtime, the request made by the browser includes and _adf.ctrl-state=xxxxxx parameter, which I supose causes the browser not checking the cache.
    image/jpeg     http://127.0.0.1:7101/ViewController-context-root/faces/images/separacioRalles.jpg?_adf.ctrl-state=1bn1yq032y_79
    Is there any way to avoid this _adf.ctrl-state? or another way to set the desired background?
    Thanks,
    Roger

    Hi Frank,
    Not working fine at all.
    I tried as you said:
    <af:panelGroupLayout layout="horizontal"
    inlineStyle="width:100%; height:2px; background-repeat:repeat-x; background-image:url(&quot;/images/separacioRalles.jpg&quot;);"
    id="pt_pgl5">
    and this is the request received on the server:
    127.0.0.1 - weblogic [28/ago/2009:10:39:58 +0200] "GET /images/separacioRalles.jpg HTTP/1.1" 404 1214
    Comparing with an af:image component:
    <af:image shortDesc="asdf"
    source="/images/help.gif" id="pt_i1"/>
    the request received on the server:
    127.0.0.1 - weblogic [28/ago/2009:10:39:58 +0200] "GET /ViewController-context-root/images/help.gif HTTP/1.1" 304 0
    If I put the contextroot in the background-image:url (background-image:url(&quot;/ViewController-context-root/images/separacioRalles.jpg&quot;), it works fine.
    127.0.0.1 - weblogic [28/ago/2009:10:44:28 +0200] "GET /ViewController-context-root/images/separacioRalles.jpg HTTP/1.1" 304 0
    So seems that the background image url is not built in the same way as using af:image component.

  • Background Image Not Visible in Browser

    I have searched the forum but I'm not finding a solution that
    works.
    I'm trying to put a background .png image in a header. It
    shows up in Dreamweaver but not in preview mode. I have an external
    style sheet that contains this:
    .twoColFixRtHdr #header {
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    height: 126px;
    width: 770px;
    padding: 0;
    background-position: left top;
    margin: 0px;
    background-image: url(assets/pictures/banner_3.png);
    My page contains the following:
    <div id="header">
    <h1 class="banner_title_top">Text</h1>
    <h1><span class="banner_title_bottom">Text
    </span>
    <!-- end #header -->
    </h1>
    The ".twoColFixRtHdr" is coming from the fact that I'm using

  • Background image not showing up in BC

    Rookie here.
    I locally developed an index page with a background image in the <body> div. Worked fine locally. When I connected it to BC the background is now white instead of the image. The background shows up in the css. Here is the link:
    http://century21print.businesscatalyst.com/index.html
    Doyou need anything else.
    Thanks for the help!

    You need to revise you background url!
    This is what you have
    background-image:url(file:///P|/websites2/century21print/images/AbstractLightRays.jpg);
    it should be something like
    background-image:url(/images/AbstractLightRays.jpg);
    that 'file:///P|...' is not right!

    Thanks for the replies Nancy O. and Murray.
    It's been so long since I did this hack (for FireFox), I don't remember anything about it.
    I believe I should delete lines 80 & 81, and leave everything else, right?:
    -moz-border-radius: 20px;
    -webkit-border-radius: 20px;
    Is there anything else I need to do?
    Murray, where did you get this code?:

    Yes - this is the result of that hack:
    <div class="RoundedBox v08vnSVo78t4JfjH" style="border-top-color: transparent; border-right-color: transparent; border-bottom-color: transparent; border-left-color: transparent; background-image: none; background-attachment: scroll; background-repeat: repeat; background-position-x: 0%; background-position-y: 0%; background-size: auto; background-origin: padding-box; background-clip: border-box; background-color: transparent;">
    Dump it!
    Thanks again, both of you!

  • CSS for background image not transfering from template to new page

    I have a gradient .gif in my templates which suddenly no longer transfers from the template to  a new page created from the template.  Everything else about the template transfers.  I'm using Dreamweaver CS5 on a Mac running OS 10.6.  I've pasted the CSS from the template and the new page below.  I've tried the usual voodoo--restart program, restart computer, repair permissions, delete preference file, delete personal configuration file.
    CSS from Template:
    .container {
        background-color: #ececec;
        background-image: url(../images/faux_column.png);
        background-repeat: repeat-y;
        height: 650px;
        width: 650px;
    CSS from page created from Template looks to be the same, but is greyed out in the code, and the background-image entry is not present in the CSS styles inspector:
    .container {
        background-color: #ececec;
        background-image: url(../images/faux_column.png);
        background-repeat: repeat-y;
        height: 650px;
        width: 650px;
    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

    Unfortunately, I don't yet have a site where I can post the page.  I'm new to this, and doing everything locally for now.
    After careful rechecking, I found that the links for the template and the child were not the same, as you suspected.  So I carefully changed the links to site root relative, which worked for the background CSS in my test image.  I then did the same for all of the links to pages on my site, and checked that all were OK with Link Checker in DW.  I guess that was a mistake, because now most of them don't work when tested in Firefox--I get the message File not found.  Must be doing something wrong.

  • Body background image not displaying in IE6

    I've looked at lots of questions about background image problems in IE6 but didn't see an answer to this one. I have a horizontal stripe on the page that's made of a background image in the <body> tag. The home page has a different size stripe than the subpages, so on the subpages I'm using a class style to call the background image.
    The home page body style looks like this:
    body {
        margin: 0;
        padding:0;
        text-align: center;
        background-image:url(../images/background_banner.jpg);
        background-repeat:repeat-x;
        height: 100%;
    And the subpages use this class style:
    .subpage {
        margin: 0;
        padding:0;
        text-align: center;
        background-image:url(../images/background_banner_sub.jpg);
        background-repeat:repeat-x;
        height: 100%;
    It works in all browsers except IE6, which loads the background image on the home page but not the subpages. So I suspect it's the class style it doesn't like. Is there an IE6 fix that will get it to work correctly?
    Here's the url of a subpage.
    Thanks,
    R-Co

    Well, both fixes still don't seem to work in IE6. And for some reason, the embedded style in the home page doesn't work at all. Here's the CSS for the method using different class styles for home and subpages:
    body {
        margin: 0;
        padding:0;
        text-align: center;
    .bodyhome {
        background-image:url(../images/background_banner.jpg);
        background-repeat:repeat-x;
        height: 100%;
    .subpage {
        background-image:url(../images/background_banner_sub.jpg);
        background-repeat:repeat-x;
        height: 100%;
    Here's a screen shot from Browser Lab showing what it looks like in IE6.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks again,
    R-Co
