JRE problem under Firefox 2.0

I'm using WinXP Professional SP2 and I installed JRE yesterday (Version 6 Update 13).
Testing the environment in browser ( http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp?detect=jre&try=1 ) yields following results:
IE 6.0 - works fine
FF 3.0 - works fine
FF 2.0 (2.0.0.20 specifically) - java console pops-up stating "ERROR: unexpectedly couldn't get the codebase".
I also noticed, that by running Firefox 2.0 as Administrator the stated problem doesn't occur and JRE works fine then as well. Thus I suppose it is just a problem of configuration. Can anybody help me how to fix this issue?

Hi Oliver,
I can't tell what the SP was where the problem was fixed. Unfortunately, the fix is within JavaScript and not within ABAP coding. You could fix it the following way though:
If you happen to have a test system with SP10 installed (according to service marketplace SP11 seems to be scheduled for mid-March), replace your version of /sap/public/bc/ur/nw5/js/popup_*.js with the ones of the next SP inside of the mime repository (please make backups beforehand g). Probably, this will fix the problem as the files as backwards compatible.
Best regards,
Thomas

  • Screen instability under Firefox and Netscape

I have a problem under Firefox and Netscape.
I use an automatic margin left and right. All work fine under
    IE.
But it's not good under Firefox and Netscape.
When the sreen is short, all is also OK. But when I dispay a
long screen after a short one, the screen is not stable and moves a
    little left.
To better understand, you can go on
    http://www.tregor.fr and try the
    two following menus:
    - patrimoine/mégalithes --> short screen -->OK,
    - patrimoine/chapelles --> the screen moves some pixels
    left.
Does anyone know how to solve this?
    Thanks a lot.

    If you make it
    html, body { min-height:100.1%; margin-bottom:1px; }
then you get it fixed on FF and Safari.

  • Problem with columns length under Firefox

I have a problem with Firefox. Possibly, someone could help?
If you look at the following page www.tregor.fr using IE or
    Netscape, there is no problem.
If you use Firefox, you will see that the display of the
bottom page is not correct. The middle column is longer than the
    left and the right columns.
So the bottom block is not correctly sticked to the middle
block (the body background color appears at the bottom of the first
    and third columns).
As I analyses, I saw that, under FireFox, the text in the
middle column seems to start a little lower than under IE or
Netscape. This may explain why the middle column is longer.
But I have no mean to avoid this.
Does anyone has experienced such a problem?
    Regards.

    you could try this:

I found a fix for this, not only firefox but several other networking programs were broken as well (Outlook and IE were ok for some reason) so I reasoned that the Norton uninstall was incomplete somehow - I had done it from the add/remove programs in the control panel. Sure enough that's not enough to release Norton's tentacles in your system, there's an uninstall tool on their website (a whole set of them actually) that managed to carve it out completely and after a restart everything was back to normal. My machines will definitely be Norton-free from now on ... N

  • Youtube is completly broken under firefox.(chrome/IE works normally)

Hello, since a day or two (22/nov/2013) youtube is not displayed proprely, in fact the whole page is a real mess and its unusable under firefox. I had to use chrome to watch videos today because of that.
I have the latest flash updates, same goes for firefox.
I made a screenshot of the whole things, but it doesnt seem like I can include it to this post.

A short time ago, Youtube changed its page navigation model from loading the entire page when you click a link to modifying the contents of the current page (similar to how instant prediction results work in Google search). Since the page will lay out correctly for you on reload, it suggests that something is interfering with the normal operation of the scripts that modify the pages when you navigate between videos.
Note: If you notice this problem primarily when going "back" you could work around a problem with the in-memory cache by making a setting change. This forces Firefox to re-parse the page and may slow down "Back" on all sites by some milliseconds. Here's how:
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''sess''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click the '''browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewers''' preference and change it to 0 (that's a zero).
Background on that: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/970863 When I go back to Google search results page, it takes me to a blank Google screen]

  • Are there any problems running Firefox 4 on Windows XP?

I was unable to run a football match on VIPStand.net yesterday with Firefox 4 on Windows XP.

I would not expect a problem under normal circumstances.
Oracle's listener is set for a default port 1521 for database requests, port 8080 for HTMLDB requests. The database connections generally find an empty port above 1024 when establishing a connection.
So, if IIS does not want to use 1521 or 8080, you will generally see no challenges. Even then it is fairly easy to move ORacle's port requirements elsewhere.
Using port 8080 seems reasonably common, but that is easily changed - search for sethttpport in this forum. IIS tromping on 1521 would be rare as it has been a well known Oracle service port since, roughly, forever.

    Hi kglad,
The problem was coming from my server.
I recently played with some settings  from a "cache control tool" offered by my hosting but i thought i had it back at default. Turns out i must've missed something. Now i have the .html caching on and everything works good on all browser.

I'm using this code now but maybe there's a way to add something that will cache this page specifically?

  • Several problems under Arch

New to using Arch64 and having several problems.
Hal seems to be mounting a random 100mb partition from one of my windows XP NTFS drives.
Anything I download using firefox is corrupt, and does not appear under firefox's "downloads" section. - 2.0.0.6 (Any file downloaded is labeled a "plain text document" that is unreadable with 0 byte size)
My understanding is that Wine now offers a 64bit version, but this still requires multilib which arch is not, yet I've found no helpful guide to arrive at a multilib arch to use wine.
Does pacman not have a method for globally uninstalling no longer needed dependencies, or is this handled at the "pacman -Rd" level.

New problem is fglrx broke after a pacman -Syu (updated fglrx during it.)
    # fglrxinfo
_X11TransSocketINETConnect() can't get address for localhost:6000: Name or service not known
Error: unable to open display :0
I was wrong on hal, after bringing the drive back i noticed the 100mb partition hal is mounting is  "really" supposed to be my /boot partition.  But when i boot up it uses the "boot" folder mounted on "/" named "boot" instead of "/dev/sdc1" which is supposed to be "/boot".
If I change it in fstab to mount /dev/sdc1 partition correctly as /boot, it boots from "/dev/sdc3"'s /boot instead, then loads /dev/sdc1 as "/boot" afterwards.
Any suggestions, it is hard to explain.

  • No mean to obtain a correct background color under Firefox

On my web site (www.tregor.fr), I set a color #FFFFEE for the
    body background.
Then I have a div tag (boite-niveau2) that contains the left
menu and the text of the page; the background color is white
    (#FFFFFF) for boite-niveau2.
    Under IE, the background is always white for boite-niveau2 ;
    no problem.
But under Firefox, you can see that under the left menu, the
color is the body background color (#FFFFEE) and not the
boite-niveau2 background color (#FFFFFF.) as it should be. Is this
a bug of Firefox or is there a mean to fix the pb?
Thanks a lot for your help.

Unlike table cells which get their height from the height of
    the tallest
cell in the row, in case of divs the height depends only on
    its content and
is not affected by height of other divs floated next to it.
    Your menu div
extends only to the height required and ends there. Below
    that there's
nothing and hence the background color of the background
    shows.
Google faux columns .. or .. equal height columns to get a
    solution for
    this.
You cannot lose until you give up !!!

  • IWeb 3.0.4 problem under Lion X: Why are my movies unable to play after publishing web-site?

No problems with the above running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.  Under Lion, I can place movies during the edit phase, set up quicktime to autoplay, and test it and it plays.  After publishing the site, the movies do not play.  Sometimes a note saying that "a plugin is not available" appears in the movie window.  Could this be a Quicktime problem?  The movies were placed in iWeb using iTunes from the Media Display and are .m4v files edited in iMovie. The web-site works on iMacs running 10.6.8, and on PC's.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

There may be memory leaks in Coded UI but more likely the leaks are in the test cases and the way they use Coded UI. I think you need to do some more investigation and show its results before getting much more than just general advice here.
