Jump to Query

Hi
There are two queries:
Query 1
Query 2
The requirement is like this:
If one clicks on any cell in Query 1, Query 2 will be displayed.
How to work out this. Please suggest.
Regards

Hi,
You can use Report To Report Interface(RRI) for this. But using RRI you can go to the next query by rightclick->query name only.If you want to to goto the query on a left double-click, in the toolbox, select the option 'goto'. you will have an option ' Repeat jump on double click'. check that option and also check your second query name above that option. Now when you double click on any cell , the next query will be displayed. Save these settings in the query as a workbook / global view.

Krishna.

  • Query on Cube jumps to Query on ODS ; Query on ODS takes Long time

    Hi All,
Perormance Issue:  Query on Cube jumps to Query on ODS.
Query on ODS taking long time.(JumpQuery)
Specific to ODS Query: When i have checked the Query on ODS(individually) also taking longer time
Actually ODS contains quite huge data. Indexes already maintained.
I have checked the RSRT- Execute SQL and Debug Option also. Indexes maintained Perfectly .
Order of objects in ODS indexes are matching the order of Objects in SQL stat of RSRT Trans. Inspite of that taking long time.
I have checked both the ways jumpquery aswellas individually .
My question is when the query is jumping from cube to query on ODS how to check the performance, how the query is executing in background when switching over to the second query, Moreover calculated keyfigure has been used for jumping to the target query.
How can query(ods query)  time is optimized or improve performance when jumping  from query on Cube ?
    can any body help?

What i understand is that you need to optimise the Query jumping time . But this will be very less compared to the time taken by the query on the ODS.
Ideally you shouldnt be making a BEx Query on the ODS , as this takes a long time. What you can do is try executing the Bex Query on the ODS to find out as to where the issue lies. If this query is taking a long time , there is not muich that you can do here.

  • Jump through query - It uses ALEREMOTE user instead of current user

    Hi,
When I do the query in BW using TCODE-rsbbs, select source system, i can jump using query through Bex to ECC system the issue is:
--It logon using the ALEREMOTE user is there any way to make it to use the current logon user?
    Thanks in advance

    Suman\Madhavi
    Thanks for your suggestions.
I am using a user with SAP_ALL but still same issue, it is taking the user specified in RFC connection instead of using the current user.
I created a new logical system and RFC connection with option use 'current user' and tried to create a new source system so that I can use it for RRI jumps but it failed with error: name <logical systemname> of client <client#> is not same as the name <new logical system name> of the warehouse.
Please let me know if have any suggestions.
    Thanks

  • How to pass variable to jump to query !

    hello Experts !
i have a query with variable "Month". so when i run that , user enters the Month/year and it gives the results for "Employee ID" for that month/year.
i have also creted another query on dso, in order to get detail line item information abt " Employee ID" and join this query with the main one thru RRI.
in RRI , i have selected "Employee ID" as single value field for both the query. the problem is when i do GOTO from the first query , it does work and gives me the result, but it gives records corresponds to that "Employee id"for all the months and year.
How do i also pass "Month" - variable value along with that "Employee id" so that the second query only shows line item for that employee id for that selected month.
    thanx

    Hi,
The use of jump query is to get the detailed level information, for the key figure values which appears in main query.
This mainly happen when in your cube design you do not details information.
    For example:
In your main query output you have :
division , company code , variable amount
    Rec1)10, 1012,4000
    Rec2)20,1001,5000
Now you want to know what are the document numbers involved to get the variable amount:
So now , you jump query output will be for record no 1.
    Document number , variable amount
    100001,500
    100002,1000
    100003,2000
    100004,500
So now you can see that jump query is giving you the documents numbers which are total of 4000.
Once you have variable in main query , the jump will give details of those keyfigur values only.
In case of jump query you need not to have any variable , it will automatically take from parant query.
Though you can define varaible for jump also.
I hope it clear your doubt
    Thanks

  • Authorization for User to Jump the Query

    Hi,
The user1 (log is not generating for this user in RSSM) cannot use the jump target in the reports which have been placed under a role, whereas the other user2 (log is able to generate for this user in RSSM) is able to jump target in the reports in SAP BI.
I need to give the proper authorization to user1 same like user2.
How can I solve this issue.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ravi Sankar

I dont understand what you mean with "(log is able to generate for this user in RSSM)"
In RSSM you can create authorization objects....
If you want to give some authorizations for  a specific query you must check the SU53 in order to see the objects that you need to add to the users profile.....
The procedure is.......give th user the Query link in order to open the query....and obviously that action gives you an authorization error.....then enter to the SU53 and this transaction shows you the authorization object you need to add to the profile.....
    I hope this helps

  • Jump from query

    HI Gurus,
I have to develope a query where i have to jump from BI query to ECC. In my report There are two fields one is account and another is account number. If i click on the document number i have to go to an ECC transaction diplaying data about that document and if i click on the account i have to go to another ECC transaction displaying data about account. I know that we can jump from BI query to transaction, but is it possible to jump from one query to 2 different transaction? if so how to do it?
    Regards,
    Raghavendra.

    Hi Raghavendra,
In the RSBBS t-code, give the sendor reprot name then click on create button.
Then select transaction and sourcesystem and then the T-code you need to enter.
Then after save the setting. goto Assignment details. Click on the field for which you need to assign that transcation.
Then create another one and select transaction .. provide the details as above and in assignment provide the details.
Ex: for G/l account you can assign the FS03n T-code on r/3.
for cost center you can assign the KS03 t-code on r/3.
    Hope it helps...

  • WAD jump to query (RSBBS)

    Hi Gurus,
I have one report in WAD and I want to create a jump to an specific query.
my report presents 10 KPI's and I want to know, can I use de context menu in one specific KPI1 that guide me to the QUERY1, and if I use the context menu in the KPI3 that guide me through QUERY3?
If i associate in tcode RSBBS 10 queries to my report in WAD, my context menu will always show these 10 queries?
    Thanks in advance,
    Oswaldo

    Hello,
The jump from one query to another query is not possible for a single KPI. The jump applies to all cells in source query. Its not specific for a particular key figure.
    Hope that helps.

  • Performance :Query is taking Longtime

    Hi,
Query on Cube jumps to Query  on ODS and Query on ods takes very long time how can we optimize/improve?

    Hi,
well, i am sure you are aware that Data Stores are not optimized for reporting.
The Data Store active table can become very large and thus reporting on that table means reporting on a HUGE amount of data.
The common solution is the creation of additional index on the ODS table to speed up reporting performance. This can be doen in 3.x from the ODS maintenance.
Also make sure the DB Statistics are active (Put ODS active table in db20)
Look at this thread for the options you have:
    ODS Performance?

  • RRI - Jump Target

    Hi ALL,
I have a requirement where i have to Create a RRI in bex Reporting, How can i introduce RRI interface for one query to another. Is BI 7.0 supports RRI ? if so How it will process and works ,What are the settings lieing in sender and Receiver and Assgnment Details. Does Query1 and Query2 has atleast one info object common? what if not.
It would be great if anyone answer
    Thanks
    Dolly.

    Hi dolly,
For example, Suppose you created two cube CUBE A ( which contains Company code , Customer, Revenue) and  Cube B (Controlling Area, Region, Price) . so There is no common column.
On cube A you created query QUERYA
On cube B you created query QUERYB
    GOTO>>> RSBBS,
    sender>>>CUBEA/QUERYA
    REPORT TYPE>>>>BW Bex query
    Target>>>> Local
    receiver report>>> CUBEB/QUERYB
    save it.
after you run the query in analyzer
Right click on the repor>>>> goto >>>> QUERYB. it will jump.
But Unlike the other it will just jump from QUERY A TO QUERY B. But its not jumping into the query w.r.to particular charecteristic.I mean for the respective region you can't find the detail information like product, and billing document, customer. For these thing threre should be common charecteristic.

  • Jump Targets from the web

I have a query with a jump target which is another BW query. When the sender query is run in BEx i can go to the jump target and it excutes fine with the proper filter values being passed.  When the sender query is executed from the web the jump target query comes up but no filter values are passed.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Workbook as Jump receiver

Just wanted to verify this is not possible. I have in the past formatted queries using workbooks. But if I create a query that is a jump target then I cannot save this
"jump to query" as a workbook because workbooks cannot be saved as a receiver in RSBBS. So therefore I'm limited with my formatting options.
Will award points for any help .
    Thanks
    Richard

    Richard,
I am not sure that I know what you mean ...
You CAN define a certain workbook as the one to jump to.  There are some limitations:
    1.  the user must be starting from an Excel workbook (it might be possible to do this from the Web, but I don't know Java well enough to be sure)
    2.  you have to use some VB code
    3.  you have to store the "receiving" workbook in "Roles" so that every user can access it
    4.  if the "receiving" workbook has multiple queries in it, the one to be "replaced" by your "jump" query must be the last query inserted in the workbook.
If those conditions are met, it is possible to jump from one query to another using RRI and predictably "land" inside a specified "receiving" workbook.
Here is the VB code required:
        Set myCell = ActiveCell
'set New Workbook on embed ... is based on "Permanent Template"
        Run "sapbex.xla!templatePermanent"
        'define the "Permanent Template"
        wbID = "3XWY5LPCYJAEER7EY8PA0L79V"
        retVal = Run("sapbex.xla!rfcSetTemplate", wbID, "")
        'rfcSetTemplate function returns a Boolean
        If Not retVal Then
MsgBox "Unable to set workbook for receiver query.", vbCritical, _
"Unable to jump to KPI ODS query."
            Exit Sub
        End If
        'check that jump is valid
         retVal = Run("sapbex.xla!SAPBEXcheckContext", "BS01", myCell)
        If retVal <> 0 Then
MsgBox "Please refresh query before attempting jump to details.", vbCritical, _
"Unable to jump to KPI ODS query."
            Exit Sub
        End If
'make the jump via RRI to QURY0001
        Run "SAPBEX.XLA!SAPBEXjump", "r", "QURY0001", myCell
'set New Workbook on embed ... is selected from list
        Run "sapbex.xla!templateChoose"
    Hope this is helpful.

  • Jump Cube - ODS - ECC..

I am jumping from Cube to ODS for line item details like Doc Number for a cost element,
can I further do the jump from ODS to ECC where I can find all the details of document number...?
Where wud it take it anywas ..any transaction...?
    Comment guys....

    Hi,
It is possible to set up a jump to a transaction. You can make the setting in RSBBS in the same way as you jump from query to query. You need to see if the input parameters of the transaction, if any, are satisfied by the query you are jumping from.
    Hope this helps...

  • RSBBS Query BEx to URL issue

    Hi,
I'm creating a RRI from a Query BEx to a URL.
It's almost working fine, the problem is that when transferring values, in the URL appears the infoobject technical code, and it shouldn't.
    Here an example:
    URL receiver:
    http://...M_MODE=DISPLAY&SAPSRM_BOID=0050568301751EE4B4F425D2C3AFB8E7
Being 0050568301751EE4B4F425D2C3AFB8E7 the value I want to transfer. The InfoObject is 0BBP_SCGUID.
But when I jump from Query BEx to URL, it appears as follows:
    M_MODE=DISPLAY&SAPSRM_BOID=0BBP_SCGUID=0050568301751EE4B4F425D2C3AFB8E7
As 0BBP_SCGUID= appears in the URL, this is not recognized any more.  Do you know how to do to remove the infoobject technical name from the URL?
    Thanks a lot

    Hi,
    Already solved
I thought it was going to take longer, but no.
But I did is, in URL, I removed the part "&SAPSRM_BOID="
Then, in RRI assignements, in infoobject name I named it as SAPSRM_BOID as 0BBP_SCGUID. Ans solved!

  • How to Drill Down Between Queries

    Hi Experts,
I am fairly new to developing reports, so at the current system there are 2 queries Summary(on a Cube) and Detail(on ODS). These are independent queries rt now. I want to pass Cost center and fiscal Period as parameters from Summary to Detail queries and make it a drill down report so that for each cost element we can get the document details.  I have read the other posts relavant to how to drill down while passing parameters but dint understand much out of those.
Can anyone please lay down a step - step approach in doing this? Or  share any kind of explanatory documents.
    Thanks
    Sarah

    Hi Sarah,
Each response you have received so far is recommending the Report-Report Interface (RRI).  It is a powerful and useful technique.  It is simple to do (minutes) and it works in all current and future front-end environments.
The problem with using is that users need a little bit of training.  And the results they get are ALWAYS exactly as the "receiver" query is displayed in its Global Definition.
If your users are using Excel and you want them to use a standard template workbook for the receiver, this is difficult (not impossible) to obtain because you need to "touch" each of their PCs and ensure that they have the correct settings on their PC each time you have an upgrade of the front-end (either BW upgrade or PC upgrade).
In most peoples' opinion, the benefits of RRI outweigh the disadvantages.
There is another option if you are using Excel.  You can put both queries in a single workbook and use the Business Explorer Analyzer's API functions to create a "Jump" from query 1 to query 2.
You can set this up to occur every time that query 1 is refreshed.  Or, your user can select one (or several) results from query 1 to make the jump to query 2.
The great disadvantage of this alternative approach is that it requires use of both Visual Basic and the BEx API functions.  Not very many people are good at either one of these.  But, they are simple to learn and once you do, there is no end to the amount of customization that can be obtained.
If you want more information about this approach, post again.  Or, do a search on previous posts that I have made (from these you will find the names of others who are very knowledgeable in this approach as well.)
Also, here is a link to some examples of BEx API functions that accompany an article written by Joerg Boeke
