Jumping pages!!

When ever I copy a page to use as a second page with new
content, or when I develop a new page from a template, the pages do
not line up in the browser. They jump around!
Say I have an index.html page I want to use as a template for
the rest of the site. I "Save as Template" and DW puts the page
into the Templates folder. I then create a new page based on that
template to act as page2 of the site. Both index.html and
secondPage.html have the same navigation bar. When I test the site
with both pages, they do not line up. I click on the link to
secondPage.html from index.html and the page shifts over a couple
of pixels. When I go fromsecondPage.html to index.html, it shifts
back.
I had the trouble with another site I worked on using
Templates, but now using the Save As does the same thing!
This jumping around is annoying to say the least. Does DW do
this automatically so that someone knows when they changes pages,
or something? I want my page to not move at all and just the
content change.
Any help would be appreciated.

No.

in the body area
It will be ignored if it's anywhere on the page other than
properly located
between <head> and </head>.
What I don't understand is why you are not following the
suggestion I gave
you, and are looking for other reasons and fixes?
Read my prior post - the CSS I suggested was this -
html, body { min-height:100.01%;margin-bottom:1px; }
you have done this -
body { min-height:100.01%;margin-bottom:1px; }
(and some other styles)
So - remove my suggested styles from your body rule, and ADD
my suggested
rule *below* your body rule.

  • , and jump pages. Is there a way to access the keyboard.. to clean?d

Help! it has taken me 1/2 hour to write this. The keys on the right hand side of my computer, will cause the cursor to ,
jump backwards, delete whole lines of text, and wreck havoc with anything I attempt to do. Jump pages, etc. Just moving the cursor via trackpad will open of close webpages, and send e-mails to those not intended.  Maybe, something is gumming up the keyboard. Is there a way to remove cover and clean?
Or is it a heat up problem. I can't keep buying a new computer every five years. Have had Macs since 94'. But, wallet thinner, must go to PC if can't fix this one. I have 5 others upstairs that can't find anyone that can fix.

    Hello,
It could be  stuck key. (or keys)
You can try cleaning the keys, here is how you can do that.
    http://mij.oltrelinux.com/ibook/cleaning_keyboard/
Pop the caps off and clean around them.
If that doesn't work then you may require a new keyboard.
Here is how to remove and replace an iBook keyboard.
    http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Replacing+iBook+G4+12-Inch+800+MHz-1.2+GHz+Keyboard/ 155/1
Should it require a new keyboard, they can be replaced very cheaply.
Remember to get the right one for your iBook (i.e 14" or 12" models differ)

  • Adobe Reader: Jumping pages

    Hi,
As there does not exist a newspaper app for BlackBerry OS10 for my daily newspaper I have to download the newspaper as PDF-file, the size is between 10 and 90MB. The preinstalled Adobe Reader would be great, but when scrolling within the document and zooming into the PDF file resp. the text, the Adobe Reader often jumps to another page, e.g. from page 5 to page 20. This is not a good user experience!
With my older BlackBerry devices I never had such an issue!
Is BlackBerry aware of this "Jumping-pages-problem" and is there a software solution on the way to solve it?

Can you please do the following in Reader:
    Click Edit, Preferences.
    Choose Documents.
Check the box marked, Restore last view settings when reopening documents.
    This should do the trick.

  • Jumping pages problem in IE

    Here's the link: http://www.barristercopy.com
I have two of my pages that are deeper with content than the others, Case Studies and Management Team. These are the two pages that seemingly jump slightly when viewed with IE. No problem in FF.
    Generally to fix the problem I add this code to the top of the style sheet:         html, :root { overflow-y:scroll; }
This time, it doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions?

    Unable to replicate in IE6

  • Jumping pages in InDesign CS 5.5?

Working in InDesign CS 5.5 with a 12 or 16 pages tabloid newsletter. Very often when I click  for instance in a menu choice or Enter for implementing a change or new stuff, the pages jump uppwards very fast and I end up at page 3 or so without the change at page 8 is done properly. This happen very often, more often now than one year ago. It is only happening i InDesign, not in Phoytoshop or Open Org. I am working with a Mac OS X vers 10.7.5 How can I stop this annoying events?

  • SAFARI KEEPING JUMPING PAGES

  • Magic mouse causes jumping pages in browser?

Whilst I am browsing, from time to time, the page jumps either backward or forward wile I am holding the magic mouse. It seems to be when I have a thumb and finger on the outside metal edges of the mouse. It really is frustrating when I am trying to read something and my concentration gets broken by this action.
Is anyone having a similar occurrence or does someone know how to do a fix for this?

Uncheck The option in System Preferences > Mouse > More Gestures tab > Swipe between pages with one finger.
This will prevent the back or forward actions.

  • Randomly jumping pages

I'm trying to study from a huge 600 page document, and can't figure out why Pages every now and then decides to jump ahead like 45 pages. It seems to jump to the end of the section each time. It's getting annoying because in a document that big, it takes a few minutes to find my spot again. Any ideas?

Yes, it is a table with a billion rows and just a couple of columns... organized like flashcards with a question in one column and the answer in the next, then another row with another question, etc.. I did try splitting it into a bunch of smaller documents but for whatever reason, the formatting gets messed up each time because it was created in landscape layout in Word, so when I try splitting for whatever reason it kept putting it into portrait layout and cutting off a bunch of text from one of the columns. I tried a couple times but got frustrated because as slow as it scrolls on a document that big, it takes forever to select a chunk of text to copy it to a new document. Also it tends to make Pages crash cutting and pasting that much. Or is there an easier way to do this?

  • JUMPING PAGE POSITION

I am having a problem with my layers, I think. When you go to
    this page:
    http://webdemo.camba.org/pages/humanresources.htm
and click on the "management training" section, and then
click on the "how to register" link on the "management training"
section, the page jumps from one position to scroll down to
another, it's kind of annoying and I am not sure why it is
happening. It happens to jump to a place where one of the layers
starts, so I am thinking that has something to do with it.
Also, the page is specifically built for Internet Explorer,
so it will look funny if you look at it in Firefox or another
    browser program.
    Thanks!

Since this makup is showing as being on two lines (i.e.,
    separated by a
carriage return/line feed) it would constitute an
    unterminated string
constant - the 'https:... is not closed with the missing
    "eviewingovertheinternet.htm','','"
That's why I said to make sure it's all on one line in DW's
    code view.

Either way - the former gives you control over the appearance
    and size of
the window that is opened, while the latter does not.

  • How to insert a whole page of figure into text

    software: Pages 09' 4.2
    For example,
I have three pages of text with page number 1, 2, 3. Now I need to insert a page of figure between page 1 and 2 and give the figure a page number 2 while the original text in page 2 and 3 are changed to 3 and 4. After insertion, the text in page 1 and page 3 are still continous. Any one knows the proper solution?
    Hoping I explained clearly.
P.S. I am in hurry to find out the solution if anyone know please tell me thank you very much.

    "Hoping I explained clearly."
    No you haven't.
It sounds like you want a page 2 with a Figure/Graphic of some sort and have that labelled page 2. Pages does that.
The next page will be numbered page 3 and the one after that page 4. All things Pages does.
If what you want is text to flow from page 1 jumping page 2 to continue flowing on page 3, just make the figure on page 2 floating and fill the page with text wrap on. Text will then be pushed off page 2 and continue on page 3.
Which is what I think you were asking for.

  • I don't want them to go through all my pages...interactive pdf

I want to create an interactive pdf, that is only "controllable" by clicking certain buttons on the pdf. I mean i don't want the viewer to simply go through all my pages by clicking the arrow keys on the keyboard (etc...) To make things clear, i have a front page that's like a menu, from which the viewer has to decide every time what subject he wants to see. So the viewer clicks the right button and the correct page show up. next, they return to the front page by clicking the 'return to the front page' button. Now the user can select another topic he wants to view, and so on....I don't want the user to go through all my pages by simple clicking or pressing the arrow keys. I want them to interact with my pdf, the way i made it . Can something like this be done in Indesign? I've searched a lot but wasn't able to find the information a needed. I hope you guys understand my problem and that someone knows the solution.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Formatting a newspaper using Pages

Our school is an all-Mac school.  I would like to produce an 8-page school newspaper using Pages.  Has anyone else done this successfully? or should I give up and use InDesign instead?  We don't need advanced features, just simple textboxes and some wrapping around drawings or photos--no extended textboxes or jump-pages, and no fancy photo cropping or effects.   I would like for Pages to figure out the imposition for me so it will automatically produce the PDF to print 2 large sheets, duplex.
And while I'm on the topic of producing a newspaper, any suggestions about copy flow among multiple student writers and editors?  We are also a GoogleAppsForEducation school, so there might well be some google tools to help the early stages of copy preparation.

How do you intend to print the newspaper?
Inposition could be done manually in Pages but is usually done with the exported pdf file at the end of the job.
When I managed a large weekly color real estate magazine, I set up a simple system of nested folders containing all the editorial files, photos, graphics and ads which was held on a Server in a folder labelled Current Edition.
At the completion of the job the files were moved into the Archived Editions folder, along with pdf previews and notes on published material, in a Job folder labelled with the Edition date eg 2013 10 22 (NB the descending order left to right).
The Current Edition folder was then cleared out ready for the new edition. A permanent set of aliases were used to point from each workstation to the Current Edition & Archived Editions folders and hence their subfolders.
Artists and journalists could readily fish out older material and ads and duplicate them into the current folder as needed.
Writers should write in a basic TextEditor, eg TextEdit, not Pages as this encourages them to stick to the text and not formatting. Artists can use whatever they are comfortable with prepping the graphics for print.
If need be you can control access to folders using permissions.
The Layout Artist's role is to take the text, photos, graphics etc and import them into a prepared template for layout. The Editor offers directions as simple notes scribbled on a single thumbnail plan sheet, as to preferred placement of the articles and images and then reviews first rough layouts then more polished layouts as the edition is assembled.
Use signed, dated, printed copies to manage approvals. Digital copies have a habit of being duplicated and used to cross purposes out of approval order.
The system works because it is simple, organised and disciplined. Your school is unlikely to pay for the heavy publications management software used by Publishing Houses, because it doesn't need them.

  • Horizontal swipe making some pages appear twice

I'm having trouble with a biggish app--about 350 mb--a lot of pictures. Each of 4 sections of 12 gallery images is followed by three "features," all separate articles. The Features have a non-interactive first screen, followed by a MSO slideshow, and in some cases, another screen that is a video, or a pan and zoom.
The problem I'm having is that when set to a horizontal swipe, the first page of the features isn't appearing, but the slideshow is appearing twice! When set to a vertical swipe, it all appears properly and works fine.
    what to do about this??

Hi Lisa, I had some strange things occur when set to horizontal swipe. Turns out there were bleed issues. If anything, anything is bleeding off the left or right and that goes for fx styles like outer glow then your swipe order gets contaminated and things start appearing where they shouldn't and in my case MSO jumping pages.
