Jumpy pictures

All right, now when I make movies, some pictures have a blip of static/snow. What might be causing this? and how might I resolve this? As well, when I go to the picture settings, sometimes all I get is snow. Weird.
I am using iLife 6 and have 1 gig of RAM with a 1.33 G4 iBook.
Thank you for the help.

Do you have HDR turned on in Camera and in Settings > Photos & Camera > Keep Normal Photo turned ON? If so the Camera wil save both the HDR version and normal version of each photo taken.

  • Jumpy picture with NX

    Hi,
Hoping someone can help me. I installed the NX webcam and it worked great for about 20 minutes. All of a sudden the bottom half of the pic became delayed and all "jumpy" (The bottom half seems to be flashing old shots and weird colors). The top half of the pic looks great and is in real time. Does anyone know why the bottom half of the pic is all screwed up? Or what could be causing this? I have the cam on top of my monitor and the weird thing is when I lift up my left hand and reach toward the camera the jumping stops and the pic is fine...for about 3 seconds, then the bottom half is all messed up again! Does anyone know what is going on?
Thanks so much for any help you can provide.
(Am using the cam on MSN messenger)
    Thanks!

There is no way your iphone camera takes better pictures than an SLR. Its impossible. It only appears that way on the Ipnone screen. The truth is in the printing of the picture. Remember, Pixels have nothing to do with quality.
My old 3 megapixel Nikon D90 takes way better pictures than my 8 mp phone camera. It is all in the quality of the lens and the size of the CCD.  MP's are a sales pitch to fool the consumer.  However, if your not printing or enlarging photos then this does not matter. Most young consumers don't print their pictures. They are used on wedsites and shared between cameras. Again, its is kind of a design flaw by apple. But only because of the type of camera. Because the flash is small on a phone and the lens is low quality, you have to get close to the subject for it to work. This in turn creats flashback which causes ghosting. The only way to fix this is to put a more powerfull flash on the camera at the opposite end from the lens, which will eat up your battery life.  Remember, Phone makers don't know squat about cameras and how the lens and flash work. They just throw something together for the consumer.

  • Stuttering, jumpy picture in podcasts

Hi, just a couple of days ago my iTunes video podcasts suddenly started playing in a stuttering, jumpy way, they always played perfectly before. Any ideas what could be causing this and how I can fix it ? I downloaded the latest version of iTunes and updates, but no change. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Sorry, I did not make it clear that the picture in picture problem is with the use of QuickTime Pro.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks

  • When I load movies into iDVD, the image is very "jumpy" and erratic.

This is driving me crazy. I have uploaded into my mac several videos from 3 different sources. The sources area Canon Camera Power Shot S5, a Sony Mini DVD recorded, and the third from a Samsung HD recorder HMX T10. So far, the video clips imported from the first two, work fine with Imovie and iDVD, the image is not HD but the quality works fines. But when I use the Samsung HD video clips, create projects and exported them into a Large and medium quality, the video is highly erratic, like freezing and jumping every second or so. I have tried to export the Imovie projects into lower qualities, but still the video does not improve. I will appreciate support to solve this. Imovie and iDVD looks great, but this problem is not nice.

    Hi
A very common origin to jumpy picture is
    • Recorded material in one frame rate e.g. 29.97fps (NTSC) and iDVD set to do a 25fps (PAL) project - OR the other way around.
It delivers a DVD but a very bad one.
I do convert all my material to same fps as the DVD I want to do (e.g. PAL) - before any editing etc.
I use JES_Deinterlacer or Compressor to do this and the result is so much better.
JES_Deinterlacer is free on Internet and makes a Great job - Professional alternatives comes at an astronomical cost and the quality is not hardly no better.

  • Performance 1080i, 720p, 480p

Just purchased Apple TV and downloaded a movie. Playback was "jumpy". Posted a question hear and learned that I missed choice to pick the AppleTV from the source to play direct from the box vice streaming. I did this and performacne was still poor (jumpy, picture freezes then runs fast to catch up, audio not in sync). I switched resolution to 720p and noticed some improvement. At 480p performance seems fine. Picture quality isn't that much different given downloaded movie isn't HD. Just doesn't seem that this should matter for direct playback. Why am I getting poor performance at 1080i?
Have played some other short videos and tehy seem fine.

I also experienced this when I first got apple tv.
When I unplugged and replugged to reboot, I could
play video at 1080i, 720p, and 480p without any
    problems.
You are dead correct about this. I was having the same issue with a video I put though VisualHub once I rebooted I never droopeed a frame.
    Thanks!

  • Video Jumps & Skips after Exporting...HELP!

    Hello All,
I am working with AVCHD footage in Premiere Pro & After Effects (using dynamic link).  All of the clips in the Premiere Pro sequence I have used the "Replace with After Effects Composition".  I am using After Effects mainly for keying out the green screen in my footage.  I "Export" the sequence from Premiere Pro (QuickTime:MPEG-4) and when I play the 3:37 video, the first 1:39 has 20 clips that are jumpy and skip.  There are also some clips in the beginning of the video that don't experience any sort of jumpy picture.
I am very confused & frustrated because the second half of the video is perfect.  I even use some of the same footage in the beginning of the video in the end so it doesn't make sense that it skips & jumps in the beginning and not in the end!?
It is tough for me to explain so here is a link to see the problem & hopefully some of  you have seen this and know how to fix it.
I am current with all updates for all my Adobe software (Adobe Production Premium CS4) so I don't believe this to be the issue.
    Thanks
In the clip, the beginning shows 2 different shots that are jumpy then you'll see the same shots (towards the end of the video) that don't jump.

Thanks Jeff...after some more investigation into this problem I was wondering if rendering it in AE with the the Field order set to either Upper or Lower has anything to do with it?  Especially because a majority of my footage rendered out fine without this option selected at all?

  • One channel jumping on only one box

I stated earlier about my problem with the box that won't activate, but I actually noticed something even more weird. One channel in my area, channel 3 (WSBK) has a very jumpy picture on the other new box that is active. It's on this box only. Has this ever happened before? Now I'm starting to see all the problems that come with FiOS. I'm wondering if I should go back to Comcast. How much is the cancellation fee?

Since you didn't have boxes installed at those locations they were never tested. Maybe something is wrong with the line. Your other box just needs to be hooked up and activated and it will work.

  • Uncompressed 10Bit Preset To DVD Problem

    Hi- Someone please help!
I'm working with 10Bit Uncompressed FCP files in a sequence. I then output as Quicktime Movie and bring into Compressor using the DVD best 2pass encoder setting. Then i bring this into DVD Studio Pro and burn. My end result is a DVD with a jumpy picture. I've gone back into FCP and used Media Manager to copy all files and the end result was the same. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance.

Hey- Thanks for your input. What I mean by jumpy is that the picture looks like it has a tremor, like a mild earthquake. I've seen interlacing problems before and that looks more streaky, not like this. It's weird. Ideally, I would like DVDSP to do all the encoding and I've tried using QT movies directly with DVDSP before but I always get "video bit rate too high" errors. Any idea what settings I should have for DVDSP to avoid that problem? Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

  • Resolution film

    Halo i have a film in 720 x 576 (25fps) and other 1280 x 720 (29.97 fps). Can i use together?
    Thank's

    Hi
To get a result I like - without jumpy pictures I
    • first I determine if I want a PAL or NTSC video - as in EU I chose PAL
    • then set up a sequence in FinalCut according to this e.g. DV-PAL
    • then I use JES_Deinterlacer to convert the 29.97fps clips to 25fps - as this application is free on internet and does the job very well
If just dropped into FinalCut - it can work but most often the result is jerky and jumpy
There are professional alternatives - at astronomical costs and with barely not visibly quality gain.
    • then adding the converted clips to my FC-project.

  • MPlayer enforcing software scaling on live DVB

    If I simply run
    $ mplayer dvb://ITV4
I get a frozen, jumpy picture, but if I dump the stream to disk first
    $ mplayer -dumpstream dvb://ITV4
it plays perfectly from there. I can even run two instances of mplayer simultaneously, one dumping, one playing, so it's not a case of inadequate hardware grunt (which would be pretty surprising these days, anyway). Turns out it's using software scaling for dvb:// (without being asked) but not for MPEG streams dumped from the same source. The -vf-clr option doesn't help.
Bug? Or is there a good reason for it? And can I stop it?
(To be honest, I don't really intend using my DVB card for live TV anyway, but it's annoying me.)
Edit: Okay, after a reboot or two, it's now playing smoothly. For some reason. But it's still using software scaling for live TV, and not for files on disk. Which still annoying me, so I'm not marking this [SOLVED] just yet.

The software downloads you linked to are for S60 3rd and 5th edition devices. The one for 5th edition should work with Symbian ^3 but might not work if you have updated to Anna.

  • Is anyone's IPhone 6 camera taking multiple pictures, or is my finger that jumpy?

Whenever I take a picture with IPhone 6, there are two of them.  Not talking about one in Camera Roll & one in My Photo Stream......I mean there are two exact pics.  Is this happening to anyone, or is my finger that jumpy that I take two pics without knowing it?  Thanks

Do you have HDR turned on in Camera and in Settings > Photos & Camera > Keep Normal Photo turned ON? If so the Camera wil save both the HDR version and normal version of each photo taken.

  • Picture is jumpy while playing iTunes videos on NB100

When I try to play movies or TV programmes on my NB100 N270 the picture is jumpy and does not run smoothly. I have upgraded to 2 GB RAM and this has made no difference although the additional RAM is seen by the Netbook.
Any ideas what is wrong please?

Well, I've disabled my AVG Free 8, turned of the Wireless, and selected "adjust for best performance" in the "Performance options" menu from the System icon in the control panel.
Video now just about acceptable although there's a slight 'wobble' occasionally in the screen about 75% up the screen. Watchable though.
With this all done CPU shows at around 65%.
I was having similar problems with BBCiPlayer and Windows Media Player. haven't tried them yet under the new settings.

  • VOX picture jumpy

MSI Vox picture is very poor quality in that the picture is jumpy.  There must be some setting that I am missing as nobody would buy a product that produces this awful quality picture.  It seems that every third or fourth frame shows on the screen making the motion like a 1920's silent picture.  Any help would be appreciated.

I purchased a VOX USB 2.0 a few days ago, definately have regrets.  I haven't been able to get WINDVR to run at all, every time I try to run it I get InterVideo ?WinDVR Application has encountered a problem and needs to close...  the file that seems to be causing it is libaci.dll .  Tech support at MSI tells me the problem is your USB 2 is probably underpowered and you need the external power supply this is a known issue.  Frankly that's bull, I downloaded the trial version of WINDVR 3 from Intervideo and it actually works but I'll be damned if I am going to purchase a program to make this thing work.  MSI has obviously sent out bad software and doesn't want to support it properly.
I also find it rediculous that you would need a power supply to make a complete package work, yet it doesn't say that anywhere on the box, nor does the place I purchased it from carry it, and the MSI web site doesn't even offer it (proprietory of course).  I am surpised that a company that many of my tech friends recommended to me has such poor support and markets a product in this, dare I say, shoddy manner.
If anyone else has encountered this problem getting MSIPVS running and has a solution, please share.
I am running windows XP on a P3 866 with 1 GB RAM.
