hey guys...
I just started learning ZLM. installed ZLM72 server and agent on two SLES 10sp1 servers. then im trying to follow ZLM72 Lab Guide v1.1_0 and also zlm documentation (zlm_72_scenarios guide -- sections3).
i created a bundle with one rpm in Zenworks control center. after that it says Bundles were successfully installed in the event log on both server and agent. I checked on servers by issuing rug bl command and i see something there.

but when i check with rpm -qa command i dont see anything there. so that rpm is not actuvally installed. am i missing something.

ZLM supports two different types of bundles.
1. RPM bundles
This bundles contain one or more rpm packages. When you upload a rpm into a rpm bundle you need to select the target platform like sles-10-i586 for it. Once you have that bundle assigned to a device it is a mandatory bundle and therefor will be installed when the device refreshes the next time or when you initiate a refresh. Once the client refreshes, it connects to the zlm server and queries for the assigned bundles. If there is a new one, it will download the bundle information (like the bundle scripts) and will also download the rpm packages from the bundle that matches its own distribution. You can upload in a bundle packages for sles 9 and sles 10, the device will download just the one that matches its own platform. If there are bundle scripts configured, they will be executed depending on your configuration. You can add some scripts to the bundle that get executed before the rpm package download starts, after they have succeeded, before the installation and so on. Once that has happened it will install the rpm package using the normal rpm installation method. The rpm package is then added to the rpm database and you can query for the rpm package with the rpm commands.
2. file bundles
File bundles are just a single collection of one or more files, They are not part of a rpm package. Therefor they are not stored in the rpm database. In case of a file bundle, the zlm client is the only instance on the server that knows those bundles. File bundles can be a easy way to deploy a single file without needing all the overheads to build a rpm out of it and deploy it as a rpm bundle.
In case of your rug bundle list output you see in the last row the type "file" which indicates it is a file bundle and therefor you do not see it in the rpm database.

Its a good track. For start you should know the PL/sql and sql very well and you can start it like ORacle developer if not directly DBa and then taking kknowledge of administrationand other modules like Backup and REcovery and Performance tuning you can shift to the DBA side.
job prospects are very good but you need to be very confident and very alert in this job plus llittle clever as well.
But for now stop thinking so far and just start learning it and start doing it. Doing it means perform every thing practically.

I have just started to use Muse for our design agency and learning how to build ourselves a new site, I have managed to create a basic lightbox which contains sliding images, what I need to do now is have a pop up window which goes into detail about the projects, what I would like is a piece of text or icon that when you roll over it and then click a separate window pops up with additional information in, once finished reading the info you can then click to close the box, any advice on how to do this?

The best way to do what you're asking is with the Composition widget. Start with the Tooltip preset, which, by default shows the info on rollover. You can change the option to show on click, which is what you're after. You can also add the close button or have the info disappear on rollout.

if u know java very well, then u can take up EP. ABAP is also very easy one to read and understand, as ur basically from prgming background.
To start with go thro the classical abap and then come to abapoo.

I watched all the video tutorials, but I'm not clear on these parts.
1. How to do a fade in / fade out title intro over the moving scene of the video?
2. How to adjust the color to saturate / brighten / darken video scenes?
3. How to make a credits page at end of video?
4. Also, confused because I have only 2 image / audio clips for my very short video. The first video clip has the audio track with one sound graph displayed when enlarged. The second video clip has audio with 2 sound graph images stacked on top of each other saying R and L, right and left. The first audio clip does not have this, does not look like this. This is confusing. I thought both audio clips should look the same. What's up with this? Do I have something duplicated?
5. Is there anyone here from South Orange County, California, USA, who would like to be of help to me via email, phone, Skype?

Watch online videos and practice doing what they show you.
Keep in mind there is no easy way to learn Photoshop, simply because it's so compex and powerful. But be patient, it will come.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Is it worth to start learning Java

Today I saw a post in JavaRanch (http://saloon.javaranch.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=33&t=017317). A guy asked a question for his friend about STARTING to learn Java NOW. Actually, I heard quite same question from people around myself.
For myself, I've been working on Java more than 7 years(already SCEA, hehe). However, the Java passion is getting away ;-((, I am looking around for other stuff like Ruby.
I have same confusion as that guy, and I'd like to learn from you guys for same question - for the current market situation, it is late/okay to touch Java?

application development comparing with other emerging
language like Ruby/Python, conversely, Java's powser
is going to server side(business/integration layer).Don't be so sure about that.
Java's not losing powder [sic] in web app development. It's mature and considered a standard for enterprise scale problems. Ruby and Python are gaining traction for smaller CRUD-like Web apps, but neither is up to snuff in the areas of security and transactions. Ruby is gaining popularity because of Rails, which makes creating simpler web apps easy.
Criticism of Java for complexity and a dearth of tools is fair. But are Trails, Grail, and AppFuse strong enough answers to Rails such that Java EE can be more agile for smaller apps? Time will tell. I think Spring and Hibernate are helping a great deal, more than EJB 3.0 will.
everybody knows it is hard thing to learn java,It's hard to learn anything, period. Programming in any language is a long learning curve, because it's so much more than just language syntax. You don't do enterprise apps just by learning Java, even if you stick to the EE platform. You have to know SQL and relational databases, messaging, XML, HTML, JavaScript, HTTP...the list is pretty long. All those technologies carry over to .NET and Ruby and anything else, so it's not just Java that's complex. Enterprise problems are complex.
And once you know all that, there's the problem of designing elegantly. It's a long climb no matter which language is on top.

however, the job market (java) is still hot, and
seems to keep hot. and people still wanna jump in.It's still good, just not crazy like it was at the end of the 90's. There is the problem of competition from China, India, Vietnam, etc. that won't go away. But what field hasn't been affected by global competition? Only those areas where you have to touch the client, like auto mechanics. Even medicine has been affected - x-rays can be read anywhere in the world.
So, still confused to tell people whether or not to START java...;-((If you like programming, jump in. Learn Java, but it's more important to learn those bedrock technologies (e.g., data structures, compilers, parsers, finite automata, decomposition, relational databases, etc.) and learn how to learn. Languages will come and go. When I jumped into this field ten years ago C++ and Corba were the rage and Java didn't exist. Now I make a living writing Java. I'm reading about Ruby and Rails now, just dipping my toes into the water.
None of us are any better prophets than you are. I don't know what will happen or if Java will still be here ten years from now. COBOL and FORTRAN were born in the 50s, and both are very much with us today.
Just stop whining about it. Do what makes you happy, and stop worrying about what other people think.

Can anyone suggest a good recent book or online resource to start learning scripting for Indesign?
I'm loving what we can do with scripts, but I want to start understanding what exactly I'm doing, not just how to do it.

I just landed in US and need to learn Basic JAVA programming , fundamentals, concepts of swing, JSP, JDBC connectivity............it might sound wierd seeing the above list but all i need to do at my work in future is all about DOCUMENTUM and i have very little time say 40 days to learn core java and its concepts coz that wuld come to play when i work on documentum.......even if come across something which i havent learnt in java, i guess i culd manage looking up some reference books, learn and do the job.....so can someone guide me thru the learning process of core java........i have been using " JAVA 2 Fundamentals Cay S Horstmann and Gary Cornell" and the basic tutorials which is available at sun.com but i am finding difficulty in remembering the concepts although i have understood it earlier. Is there a comprehensive online tutorial which can guide me through the learning process of core java?

I want to program iPhone applications, want to start learning from scratch. Where do I start?

I have wanted to program for a long time and now I have a mac I want to begin on the wright track. Which language should I start learning and what others will I need in the future? I started learning c++ awhile back but wasn't sure if it was the right language for iPhone development so stopped till I could afford a mac as I couldn't be an iPhone programmer without a mac anyway. Any advice to put me on the right track would be brilliant and much appreciated. Also I heard learning design is a major aspect, when should I learn this or should it just be picked up through learning a language. And I should add I don't want to go to college or university as I am doing this as something ontop of my full time job. Thanks
