I believe this is because the JWS is trying to download a new JRE. This is because it cannot find a JRE as specified in the JNLP file. Make sure you have added all your JRE's in the JWS application managers preferences and that you have the JRE specifed in the JNLP file. If you have added all your JRE's to the JWS preferences, you can circumvent the bug by setting proper <j2se version> tags. Add a tag for every major JRE that can run your app. For example, if your app needs minimum 1.3, but also works with 1.4, then write this in your JNLP file:
<resources>
  <j2se version="1.4"/>
  <j2se version="1.3"/>
  <jar href="MyApp.jar"/>
</resources>I encountered the same problem like you are having when I ommitted the <j2se version="1.4"/> and thought that <j2se version="1.3+"/> was enough.

    please help on this issue

    Hi,
    Somewhere the address is not getting resolved. I would suggest you to enter IP address instead of the hostname in the RFC (SM59).
    Hope this helps.

  • JWS Error MSG Inside

    Below are the error messages that are being returned to me upon opening a linke to a .jnlp file on my Tomcat server. The JWS will load everything perfectly fine by clicking on a local copy of the .jnlp file, however, if I click a URL from the server pointing to the file that resides on the server (identical to the local copy in every way), it will give me this slew of messages.
    Anybody have any clue?? This is my first deployed JWS application so it's possible I'm overlooking something obvious, but I've done some reading and haven't come up with anything so far.

  • DNS error for localhost:8080 with Tomcat

    jdk1.2.2 is up and running and then I installed Tomcat on my Windows2000 PC.
    Then in a DOS window I did this:
    C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Tomcat 4.1\bin>startup
    And this display resulted:
    Using CATALINA_BASE: C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Tomcat 4.1\
    Using CATALINA_HOME: C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Tomcat 4.1\
    Using CATALINA_TMPDIR: C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Tomcat 4.1\\temp
    Using JAVA_HOME: C:\jdk1.2.2
    But I get "Cannot find server or DNS error" when I try
    http://localhost:8080/ or http://127.0.0.1:8080/admin
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Apparently the problem was caused by incompatibility between jdk1.2.2 and Tomcat4 as discussed in another topic on this forum.
    When I switched to a Tomcat3 version, everything worked fine.

  • Apache can't start with " error resolving localhost ..."

    Hi,
    I have Oracle 9.2.0.4 installed on a White Box Linux. This installation for some reason shows an Apache problem:
    When I try to start Apache then I have an error message stating the following
    "date and time [error] OPM: PRIV: error resolving host name localhost"
    then a message saying that httpd could not be started.
    This error is not added to the log file but displayed instead on the screen. Morever, files with names mm.*.sem and mm.*.mem are created in $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/logs.
    When I try "ping localhost" on this machine I have no problem and the name is correctly resolved!
    Can any one please tell me what could it be?

    Michel -
    Any time. That's quite odd. And has your /etc/hosts
    file changed at all? Is the first line setup
    correctly to only include localhost and
    localhost.localdomain?Yes it is.
    Are you calling apachctl from
    $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/bin? Well, I copy the file to /etc/init.d and launch Apache from there at startup. The reason is that I have changed the ports on which Apaceh will listen to 80.
    You said you could
    ping localhost successfully, but have you been able
    to ping the localhost by name?Yes. I did. Note please that the name of the machine is lx_26_100.
    ping localhost
    ping 127.0.0.1
    ping lx_26_100
    ping 10.26.1.100
    All of that works fine!
    Have you tried
    changing the value of the ServerName parameter from
    the localhost's name to its IP address?
    Well I didn't try this. I'll try it. However, the error message doesn't speak about lx_26-100 but instead it speaks about localhost not beeing resolved.
    By the way, what are the files mm.*.mem and mm.*.sem in the logs of Appache?
    -shawnThanks Shawn.

  • Infrastructure.jws error

    HI OTN
    I encounter this error: C:\Infrastructure\DBSchema\build.xml:334: C:\Infrastructure\Ant\modules\oracle.javacache_11.1.1 not found.
    in my infrastructure.jws project. I have specify my jdeveloper home and I have also check that the file is in my jdeveloper home.
    Please help

    Timmie -
    Shay's correct, if you are using the Bulldog release of JDeveloper 11.1.1.0.0 (Help > About: JDEVADF_MAIN.BOXER_GENERIC_081002.2127.5156), use this version of FOD:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/samples/fod/fod_11.zip
    If you are using the R1 release of JDeveloper 11.1.1.1.0 (Help > About: JDEVADF_11.1.1.1.0_GENERIC_090615.0017.5407), use this version of FOD:
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/java/jdeveloper/111/extensions/FusionOrderDemo_R1.zip
    These versions of FOD are not interchangeable with different versions of JDev.
    Also, make sure that you specify the jdeveloper.home entry properly in the build.properties file, including the 'jdeveloper' entry. My jdeveloper.exe is located at:
    c:\jdev\r1\jdeveloper\jdeveloper.exe, so I specify the jdeveloper.home property as follows:
    jdeveloper.home=C:/jdev/r1/jdeveloper
    Hope this helps,

  • JWS error: 503 Service Unavailable

    Ifs is running, i can map it in Windows Explorer or acces it via ftp.
    But when trying to connect via WEB, i get the message: 503 Service Unavailable.
    I checked The Java Web Server administration on port 1717 and it reports that JWS is running.
    We have on the same machine Apache Web server which runs on port 80, so we use port 81 for JWS.
    Any idea?

    We've worked it out.

  • [SOLVED] Apache Access forbidden Error 403 localhost

    Hello,
    I believe this should be some thing very stupid, but I  can't find it... so here I am.
    I have just installed apache (# pacman -S apache)
    Configured httpd.comf, and created 2 virtual hosts with extra/httpd-vhosts.conf
    When I believed every thing was ok, I have started Apache as root (# apachectl start)
    Started ok, no errors (also tried start it as user with sudo, and /etc/init.d/httpd start)
    So when I go to http://localhos (or the virtual host) I allways get Access forbidden Error 403
    I have set 777 permissions to /srv/http and the virtual host (/home/username/local-web/site1.dev)
    I have tried every thing , changed dir owners to "http:http" ...
    At the Apache error log I get:
    "[Thu Oct 29 02:39:48 2009] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] (13)Permission denied: access to / denied"
    There is a very simple plain index.html file at /srv/http and the virtual host, all file/dir permissions very permisive... so that can't be the problem.
    Am I missing some thing? Do I need to manually create the "http" user and/or add it to some group?

    Ok, here's the code:
    # This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file. It contains the
    # configuration directives that give the server its instructions.
    # See <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2> for detailed information.
    # In particular, see
    # <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/directives.html>
    # for a discussion of each configuration directive.
    # Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding
    # what they do. They're here only as hints or reminders. If you are unsure
    # consult the online docs. You have been warned.
    # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many
    # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the
    # server will use that explicit path. If the filenames do *not* begin
    # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "/var/log/httpd/foo_log"
    # with ServerRoot set to "/etc/httpd" will be interpreted by the
    # server as "/etc/httpd//var/log/httpd/foo_log".
    # ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's
    # configuration, error, and log files are kept.
    # Do not add a slash at the end of the directory path. If you point
    # ServerRoot at a non-local disk, be sure to point the LockFile directive
    # at a local disk. If you wish to share the same ServerRoot for multiple
    # httpd daemons, you will need to change at least LockFile and PidFile.
    ServerRoot "/etc/httpd"
    # Listen: Allows you to bind Apache to specific IP addresses and/or
    # ports, instead of the default. See also the <VirtualHost>
    # directive.
    # Change this to Listen on specific IP addresses as shown below to
    # prevent Apache from glomming onto all bound IP addresses.
    #Listen 12.34.56.78:80
    Listen 80

  • MySQL error on localhost, but not remote!!

    I am getting an error of:
    Warning: mysql_free_result() expects parameter 1 to be resource, null given in /Users.... line 848
    But I am only getting this on my dev machine. It doesn't show on the remote site. I have taken the remote DB and put it inplace of my local one just in case I had inadvertantly deleted something, but still no joy.
    I have closed the recordset using:
    mysql_free_result($rs_reg_domain);
    But have had to use the following to hide the error:
    //if (is_resource($rs_reg_domain)) mysql_free_result($rs_reg_domain);
    and finally this is the recordset:
    mysql_select_db($database_conn_mrs, $conn_mrs);
    $query_rs_domain = "SELECT * FROM tbl_settings WHERE fld_settingsNAME = 'domain'";
    $rs_domain = mysql_query($query_rs_domain, $conn_mrs) or die(mysql_error());
    $row_rs_domain = mysql_fetch_assoc($rs_domain);
    $totalRows_rs_domain = mysql_num_rows($rs_domain);
    'domain' has a value.
    What's wrong?
    Thanks

    The reason you get an error locally, but not on the remote server is almost certainly because the remote server has the PHP display_errors configuration setting turned off. The error still occurs, but it's not displayed. Most hosting companies turn off the display of errors for security reasons.
    Looking at the code you have given here, it looks as though the error is caused by using the wrong variable name for the recordset. The recordset is $rs_domain, but you're passing $rs_reg_domain to mysql_free_result().

  • Customisation during Import failed due to com.bea.wli.sb.transports.ejb.Jws

    Hi All,
    *Environment:
    Weblogic Server: 10.0.1.0
    Workshop Studiio: 1.1.0.0
    Aqualogic Service Bus: 3.0.0.0.0
    Linux: 2.6.18-53.e15 x86_64
    ANT: org.apache.ant_1.6.5
    JDK: jdk150_11
    All my services are JMS based, so all the JMS destinations has already been created and tested using a different utlity written in java which sends a messages to the jms queues and recieve those messges, so i am sure my jms destinations are already there.
    *Problem:
    1 - I can use alsb console to import the config.jar without any problem, even though the jms destinations are reflecting older addresses i.e. jms:localhost:7001/connfact/queue (my dev)environment, where as my to be environment is different physical host with address like jms://abdhost:7099/connfact/queue.
    2 - When i try to apply customisation using a customisation file i generated from my dev environment and changes the jms locations according to the to be host. the customisation operation failed complaining about 'Failed to lookup connection factory <factory name>'.
    in the weblogic console the error is
    [JAM] Warning: failed to resolve class com.bea.wli.sb.transports.ejb.Jws
    <ERROR> <ConfigFwk> <BEA-390109> <Failed to notify session listener com.bea.wli.sb.transports.WLSArtifactDeployerImpl for operation beforeSessionActivate on session weblogic
    com.bea.wli.sb.transports.TransportException: Failed to lookup connection factory <factory name>
    *Same Problem using ANT on hudson:
    I am also running same process using ANT build script on hudson to kick off build which imports alsb configuration, using already created config.jar, into alsb 3.0.0.0 already running on linux. The ANT script runs WLST import.py and export.py script, copied from the weblogic tutorial, to import configuration into alsb 3.0.0.0, but failed with same error.
    I am not sure if this error is only related to missing jar which is missed during weblogic startup and in my ant script. If so, can someone tell which jar to use unless its a BUG and already been addressed as this is pretty old version i am using.
    PS: dev and tobe environments have same weblogic build so i had already checked that.
    Many thanks for your help!

  • While running servlets getting errors 404 or 505 resource not found

    Hi all,
    I'm novice to J2EE.
    I've encountered a problem while accessing the deployed module in weblogic 8.1 server.
    I'm sure that the webapplication module is deployed as i saw my module in administration console & also the status said that it is deployed.
    when i access my web application by specifying the proper server and port no and context root it is showing
    either 505 - resource not found error(http://localhost:7001/Suresh-2/Suresh) or 404 - not found error.( http://localhost:7001/Suresh-2/Suresh)
    Now let me elaborate what i've done till now.
    My webapplication folder structure is : C:\bea\user_projects\domains\mydomain\applications\Suresh\WEB-INF\classes\Sai\ServExamp.class
    My servlet is ServExamp.java
    I created a folder called "Suresh".  In that folder created another folder called "WEB-INF".  In WEB-INF created a folder called "Classes".
    Since my servlet is in package "Sai", the .class file reside in \Suresh\WEB-INF\Classes\Sai\ServExamp.class
    The source code is :
    package Sai;
    import javax.servlet.;*
    import javax.servlet.http.;*
    import java.io.;*
    public class ServExamp extends HttpServlet
    public void doPost(HttpServletRequest req,HttpServletResponse res)throws IOException
    PrintWriter out=res.getWriter();
    java.util.Date today=new java.util.Date();
    out.println("<html>"+"<body>"+
    *"<h1 align=center>HF\'s Chapter1 Servlet </h1>"*
    +"<br>"+today+"</body>"+"</html>");
    Now i'm almost done creating a web application.  Next, I constructed a simple web.xml descriptor that gives a web friendly name for my servlet, and points to the servlet. I constructed  web.xml descriptor file in the WEB-INF folder (C:\bea\user_projects\domains\mydomain\applications\Suresh\WEB-INF\).
    The web.xml file source is :
    *<!DOCTYPE web-app*
    PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN"
    *"http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-app_2_3.dtd">*
    *<web-app>*
    *<display-name>Hello World Web Application</display-name>*
    *<description>Test Servlet</description>*
    *<servlet>*
    *<servlet-name>ServExamp</servlet-name>*
    *<servlet-class>Sai.ServExamp</servlet-class>*
    *</servlet>*
    *<servlet-mapping>*
    *<servlet-name>ServExamp</servlet-name>*
    *<url-pattern>/Suresh</url-pattern>*
    *</servlet-mapping>*
    *</web-app>*
    Now I have told Weblogic that the URI /Suresh corresponds to my servlet "Sai.ServExamp".
    My Web Application is ready to be deployed at this point. I logged onto Weblogic's admin console,
    *1) clicked on deployments, then navigated to "Web Application Modules" .*
    *2) Clicked "Deploy new Web Application Module"*
    *3) Navigated to the location of your web application folder (Suresh). There was a radio button next to it indicating that I can select that folder as a valid web application.*
    *4) I Clicked that radio button and clicked "Target Module".*
    *5) It informed that my web application "Suresh" will be deployed to myServer.It asked a name for my web application deployment. By default it was "Suresh"*
    I clicked Deploy.
    *6) After deployment, my web application "Suresh" appeared in the "Web Application Modules" tree on the left.*
    I Clicked on "Suresh"( my web application) then clicked the testing tab, then clicked the link shown there(http://localhost:7001/Suresh-2).
    It was not showing  my servlet (showed a 403 error)
    Error - 403
    This status code is commonly used when the server does not wish to reveal exactly why the request has been refused, or when no other response is applicable.
    I think so it came b'coz I don't have an index.html or index.jsp page.
    *7)Instead,I added my servlet on to the URL it provided.*
    http://localhost:7001/Suresh-2/Suresh
    It is showing these error code: Http: 505 resource not allowed
    The page cannot be displayed
    The page you are looking for cannot be displayed because the address is incorrect.
    Please try the following:
    If you typed the page address in the Address bar, check that it is entered correctly.
    Open the localhost:7001 home page and then look for links to the information you want.
    Click  Search to look for information on the Internet.
    when i just type : http://localhost:7001/   -> Error 404 not found error
    it's showing
    Error 404--Not Found
    From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    *10.4.5 404 Not Found*
    The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
    If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.
    I want to run my web application & any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    with regards,
    S.SayeeNarayanan.
    Note: I even deployed my war file, which i got by execution of (jar cv0f webapp.war . ) command from the root directory of my web application i.e. Suresh
    Then executed my webapplication it is showing
    error-505 resource not allowed.

    Please could somebody help me out with this? Basically I am not able to understand how to deploy the EAR file created under the MyWork folder under jdeveloper\jdev to the applications folder of j2ee\home. I am new to both EAR deployment as well as web services and would like to get a good understanding of the working of a web service which includes SOAP components and the like.
    Any help with regards to building and deploying a web service on standalone OC4J would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

    Initially I followed the following steps to start up OC4J:-
    Settings :-
    1) Jdeveloper is setup under C:\Lester\Testing as Jdev10.1.3 folder
    2) I downloaded the extended oc4j zip folder and unzipped it under a new folder oc4j at the location C:\Lester\Testing\Jdev10.1.3
    Steps followed to run oc4j and deploy application
    1) Setup a standalone oc4j from the jdeveloper ide giving C:\Lester\Testing\Jdev10.1.3\oc4j as the root folder for oc4j.
    2) While doing step 1 added password and deployed it. Changed server.xml under C:\Lester/Testing/JDev10.1.3/oc4j/j2ee/home/config
    to include the following:-
    <shared-library name="global.libraries" version="1.0" library-compatible="true">
    <code-source path="C:\Lester/Testing/JDev10.1.3/oc4j/j2ee/home/applib"/>
    </shared-library>
    AND
    <java-compiler name="javac" in-process="false" options="-J-Xmx1024m -encoding UTF8" bindir="C:\Jdeveloper\jdk" extdirs="C:\Jdeveloper/jdk" />
    3) Opened a command prompt and went to the location C:\Lester\Testing\JDev10.1.3\oc4j\j2ee\home and ran the following command:-
    --> java -jar oc4j.jar
    4) Deployment: Then I deployed my primewebservice application from command prompt at C:\Lester\Smart Cylinder\Example code\prime\PrimeNumberService>
    using:-
    --> java -jar C:\Lester/Testing/JDev10.1.3/oc4j/j2ee/home/admin.jar ormi://172.20.13.164:8888 oc4jadmin welcome -deploy -file PrimeNumberService.ear -deploymentName DocStyleWebService
    5) Web Binding: Then I bound my primewebservice application from command prompt at C:\Lester\Smart Cylinder\Example code\prime\PrimeNumberService>
    using:-
    --> java -jar C:\Lester/Testing/JDev10.1.3/oc4j/j2ee/home/admin.jar ormi://172.20.13.164:8888 oc4jadmin welcome -bindWebApp DocStyleWebService PrimeNumberService_web http-web-site /docws
    6) Steps 4 and 5 went through without error.
    7) However when trying to access the web service using the following link I get the standard HTTP 404 (Page not found) error:-
    http://localhost:8888/docws/prime
    This was before I tried deploying the web service through jdeveloper IDE.
    I had tried the document web service given at the following link:-
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/java/codesnippet/webservices/docservice/index.html
    from the web services how to links
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/java/codesnippet/webservices/index.html
    Please could somebody help me out? Also periodically I recieve the ojc.exe not found error when trying to deploy an application using jdeveloper ide. There are two conflicting jdeveloper versions one comes with this exe and one without.
