Manual Planning with MS Analysis (BO 4.0) and BW 7.3

Hi,
I am working with MS Analysis (BO 4.0), I want an Analysis Grid.  I create a Real Time Infocube, a query with an input - ready key figure.  When I insert this query in MS Analysis, the planning ribbon is not activated. I need to do something else?
If I want to create a ready to input Query for my First Version of the year, I don´t have Actual data, so I don´t have combination of characteristics. I need a blank template, I know the GL Accounts that the user needs to planning, and the user only has to select the Cost Center. How I do that? In BPS when I created the planning layout I selected the option "Key figure in data columns, rows defined individually".
Thanks for your help.

Hi,
its part of your strategy. When you want to report directly of your HR System, CR would be your choice, so you dont need a BW. Some customer dont want to report of their transactional systems due to performance reasons. So they choose to ETL their Data into BW, change them in the way they want, and than report of the BW. In this case you could also choose WebI as your reporting tool.
Maybe the best solution would be when you contact your Sales Rep. for BI 4.0 Ramp- up. You could thest both solution than in a PoC.

There are on-line places that let me upgrade to a droid X for free but they do not sell apple iphones.  Any ideas? I need 4 phone two droid X and 2  iphones.  I know the iphone is 200 everywhere.

  • Trouble with Differences between iPod 5th Gen and "Classic"

I have the 30 GB 5th Gen iPod. The iTunes software was easy to use in creating playlists and viewing my music on my device. I recently bought an 80 GB Classic and cannot create a playlist on my device. It always creates it in my library. I also cannot get the browser view to show up when on my 80 GB device. Everything was easy with the 5th Gen but I am finding the differences in navigating the software very tough. Please help.
P.S. The new iPod always wants to sync when I connect even though I am pretty sure I told the program not to auto sync. I cannot get past the syncing screen without clicking on the sync button.

It sounds like you need to adjust your settings.
    1. Open iTunes on your computer.
    2. Connect your iPod to the computer.
    3. As soon as the iPod shows on the sidebar, look at the summary tab options to make sure that the Manually manage music and videos is checked if you want to manually load the iPod. A window should open to ask if you are sure you want to change the setting to manual. Answer Yes. If you want to auto sync, leave this item unchecked.
If you have unchecked items in the main library (duplicate songs, etc) and do not want them to load into the iPod, make sure the item Sync only checked songs and videos is marked. If you change this setting, look for the Sync button at the lower right corner to change to two buttons Cancel and Apply. Click on Apply. It is always important to click apply after you finish making changes to the iPod settings.
    4. If you manually Sync, with your mouse you can drag and drop the playlists you want to load in the iPod from the sidebar. Highlight the playlist you want. Hold the left mouse button down as it is highlighted and move the mouse to cover the iPod device and release the mouse button. The playlist and songs should begin loading.
    5. Alternately, when looking at the device, switch to the music tab. Change the setting to Sync Music - Selected Playlists. Then check off the playlists you want to load. If you do this, and have the default AutoSync set on the Summary Tab, the playlists will automatically be updated when the iPod is connected. Depending on your personal preferences or space needs, uncheck Include Music Videos or Display Album Artwork on iPod.
    6. Make sure that you click APPLY to apply the settings to the iPod after making changes to the various menus. If you do not apply the settings, the iPod will retain the default settings.
    7. Note that you will have to re-enter all your settings and apply if you have Restored the iPod (delete all content and reinstall operating software). In a Restore, the iPod settings are also reset to the Apple factory defaults.
    Hope this helps!

  • Variable with range- only 1st value used in manual planning ?

    Hi,
We're trying to define a column in a manual planning layout that will represent a YTD total.  We have defined a variable  for 0fiscper that contains the range of periods we require in the YTD total.  When we execute that manual planning area with this variable used as a restriction on the data column we want, the key figure values displayed only represent those for the 1st period in the range - not  all periods in the range !
I'm hoping someone can tell me if manual planning layouts can use variables in this manner.  If not, how can this best be done ?
    Many thanks,
    Blair

    Hi Blair,
Create a total column using the dynamic column, as a result you would have the individual period columns and the total column in the layout. Now make the individual period columns hidden using any of the options below.
You could achieve the same, by making the column hidden in the transaction UPX_MNTN
    > Enhance Planning Layout
      > Select the relevant layout
         > Select the enhanced button for the key figure
           column
           > Mark the hidden check box there.
Alternatively if you are using Excel GUI, you could set the column width of the columns preceeding the total column as 0 (in the third screen of the layout) to make them hidden.
    Hope it helps

  • IP - Various problems with BEX Analyser - help would be nice

    Hi,
we use IP in combination with BEX analyser. We experience certain problems. Does anyone experienced the same issues mentioned below:
    1) if a planning function is executed, it is executed twice when your cursor is within the query itself. If it is outside the query when clicking on the button, it is executed once (like it should).
    2) Locking: we don't have locking problems, but from the moment two people lock each other once, they need to close their analyser and re-open it (so logon again) in order to be able to start planning again in a non-locked part. If they just change their selection (to the not-lock part) they remain locked!!!
    3) planning function with multiple variables: system cannot retrieve values of all variables.
    details of function:
    CMD                                               1       EXECUTE_PLANNING_FUNCTION
    PLANNING FUNCTION NAME           1      AG10_COPY01
    DATA PROVIDER_FILTER                 1     DATA_PROVIDER_1
    VAR_NAME                                     1       PROF_CTR
    VAR_VALUE                                    1       510
    VAR_NAME                                     2     PERIOD
    VAR_VALUE                                    2        012
    VAR_NAME                                     3       CUSTOMER
    VAR_VALUE                                    3     1000
-> following the instruction of the SAP course, in case of multiplle variables they should start from 0 and have an incremental increase. But the system only recognizes the variable with index = 1
    regards
    D

    Dear Dries,
could it be that the variable type you use require a different set of commands?
In general the parameters of the BEx Analyzer follow the rules of the SAp BW 3.5 Webruntime. When reading this detailed documentation you find that depending on the type of variable other names have to be used, e.g. when using a selection option variable you need something line varname_low, varname_high, ...
The documentation can be found in the online-help:

  • Error while creating manual planned order in apo

    Dear expert
While I am creating manual planned order i am getting error as message /sapapo/rrp251
Every thing is correct BOM and PV's no error after consistency check and it getting succesfully transffered to APO and it is also visible in APO
But while creating manual planned orders planned order are not getting generated  I am using BLock planning with PPDS
Please help How to resolve it
    Regards
    Virender

    Hi
The error message /SAPAPO/RRP251 - Error occurred while creating order means While creating an order, the system encountered problems, such as, for example, no available components or components that are available late, orders that could not be scheduled, and so on.
I think system attempted to solve the availability problems by using alternative procurement options. This was not successful. The order could not be created. Check the exceptional situations in the planning protocol, under Goto -> Planning log, and deal with the causes of the exceptional situations if this is possible or necessary.
    Thanks

  • Clarification on Manual Planning

    Hello
Would appreciate clarification on the following query.
Is it possible to write zero key figures into the infocube:
The context is I have paytype as a characteristic
when the characteristic is BONUS the rates (read All Key Figures )are zero, while there are specific rates when the value of the paytype characteristic is PAID
While I maintain these values in the planning layout , I find that the system recognizes only those entries which has atleast one non-zero value
The work around for me would be to try and introduce a key-figure which would have a value in all instances
Just wanted to know whether there is an alternative
    Thanks for your time
    Regards

    appreciate your response on this query;
I also felt like sharing SAP's perspective on this.......
    <b>My query to SAP</b>
I have created a planning layout for manual planning; Set of entries were entered in the planning layout
The scenario demands the key figures for certain characteristics combinations to be zero ; this means that for these combinations, all the key figures assumes zero values The systems generates entries only in the cases where atleast one key figures has a non zero value; Why is this so? Is the BPS design/ Loading
into t cubes designed such that key figure should have non zero values
    to be loaded into the data target Appreciate help on this Regards;
    Ramesh
    <b>SAP Reply</b>    28.11.2005 20:46:07      SAP AG
    Dear Ramesh,
yes, the system is designed this way. The BPS could not discern betweenvalues of zero and values not yet planned. Data sets have to have at least one key figure diverse to zero, otherwise these data sets will be
deleted from the internal buffer and will be not written to the cube. This is the standard behaviour of the BPS system.
A possible workaround is to set dummy key figure (like "planned") with value 1 for "yes" and 0 for "no".
    thanks and regards

  • How to allow only new combinations when adding lines in manual planning?

    Hello Xperts.
in manual planning (input ready query called over web-template) the user wishes to plan (change the key figure values) for already existing combinations and to add new lines (which has been enabled in the web-template through a button group).
The crux of the matter is that the user is supposed to be able to enter only new unique combinations of data. Hence the user may not enter already existing characteristic combinations as a new line.
I have noticed that the system default is that if the user enters an already existing combination when "adding a new line", the value entered for the key figures is simply added to the existing value (summation) of that characteristic combination. This is unacceptable to the business requirements!
I thought about solving with a check combination exit (CL_RSPLS_CR_EXIT_BASE), but the problem is that all already existing combinations would be invalid, hence it would not work I think.
I would appreciate any suggestions out there how this could be accomplished. Thank you.

    Hi,
The best option that satisfies your requirement is to create a custom planning function to accept only new combinations.
For this check the following link,
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/43/0c033316cd2bc4e10000000a114cbd/frameset.htm
In the above go to BI Integrated Planning -> BI Integrated Planning -> Implementing Planning Function Types
After this, in your "Save" button on the workbook insert this custom function also before the "Save".
So once you click "Save" button first check is performed and error is thrown if the records entered by the user are not as per your requirement.

  • BPS - possibility of Manual Planning Functions

    Hi guys,
I need some technical advice. Please advice if this task can be "EASILY" accomplished via BPS Manual Planning Function ?
My client need to input certain data into BW and generate a report displaying all the below mentioned data into a simple BW query.
Type of data that need to be inputted manually (key-in) :-
      Market Velocity
      AVG Daily Trading Value
      Mkt CAP of New Listing
      No. of new Listing
      No. of Derivative Instructions
      Please assist soonest possible

    Hi John,
Should work. If you have an InfoCube (type transactional) with the chars & keyfigs, you could do a manual planning. However, for demo purposes, you could also use transaction RSINPUT for this cube. If you have defined your correct InfoObjects, you have these several options.
If you want to report on this transactional InfoCube, make sure you include the variable for "most current data" in your BEx report.
    Good luck,
    Laurens.

  • Help reqd for determining header char combination in Manual Planning

    Hi,
I have created a manual planning layout which has 3 chars in lead col, 5 KF in data col and all remaining chars in the header. Now when I display plan data for this layout at time it displays me records only for one combination of header chars. And so I have hit next combination button to navigate thru remaining records. Is there a way by which I can have all the records with all possible header char combination at once?
If hit the other combination button and empty all the header fields and then execute it says me no records found for this combination coz then in this case it searches for the records with all the fields blank.
    Thank you,
    sam

    Multiple options:
    1. dependent characteristics (like profit centre / comp code) wont be modelled in the layout. You will have to derive them as chararacteristics relationship. If you wish to keep the dependent characteristics in the layout, then you need to write a exit variable which will populate comp code by reading profit center. Reg cost element, you can have it in loead column. With this setting, if you chose a profit centre in the header and the company code will be populated and for a given profit centre, you cna view the plan data.
    2. Create a report and this is a better approach. You dont need a exit or anything. From report, build a jump to UPSPL for entering plan data.

Edited by: Vyas on Apr 8, 2012 12:52 AM

Here are some instructions - please let me know if this is what you are looking for.
    Kind Regards,
    Emily
-> In what top shd i upload my files using help Upload ?
Create Upload and Download Directories on Middle Tier.
The download path must be a location on the machine that hosts the Application Server - ie, the "middle tier". Directories for the upload (for example, /u01/tutor/upload) and download (for example, /u01/tutor/download) functions must be created on the middle tier.
***These directories, as well as any future subdirectories, must have full read/write/execute permissions. The Help Utility will automatically create subdirectories, so the permissions must be set correctly before the Help Utility is used.
Verify that the HELP_UTIL_DOWNLOAD_DIR directory points to a directory that can be accessed from both the JServ tier and the Concurrent Manager tier.
    From the EBS
EBS R12 System Administrator > Profile > System > Find System Profile Values
    - Verify Site is checked
    - Verify Profiles with No Values is checked
    - In the profile field, enter %help%
    - Click Find button
Update system profile values with the correct paths. For example:
         Help Utility Download Path > /u01/tutor/download OR /dbfiles/applcsf/outbound
         Help Utility Upload Path > /u01/tutor/upload OR /dbfiles/applcsf/inbound
         Help System Root > FND:LIBRARY
         TCF:Host > http://<hostname.domainname>
         TCF:Port > <port number>
-> How do i integrate the desk manual index HTML file with my applications help?
Use Help Builder to add the DESK_MANUAL_INDEX to the Help Tree
To learn all the features about customizing Help Navigation Trees, refer to the Oracle Applications System Administration User Guide.
EBS R12 System Administration > Help Administration > Help Builder
When Help Builder first opens it may appear as a tiny screen in the upper left corner, if this happens, maximize the screen. You may also have to resize the screen as you may see the entire screen at first.
    - Enter FND in the Node Application field.
    - Press the Find button on the Find Trees Window.
This should bring the Trees tab region forward with a list of available trees.
    - Scroll down and find FND | US | Applications Help Library in the Trees tab
    - Select and double click on it.
This will open the Applications Help Library tree in the left frame
    - Expand the Application Help Library by clicking on the + next to it.
    - Click the New Node icon on the toolbar.
    - Enter the following information in Properties window.
The next items assume the default Desk Manual Index terminology is used.
If your organization uses or plans to use different terms, adjust the entries in the various properties field accordingly.
         Prompt: Desk Manual Index
         Description: Desk Manual Index
         Data: @DESK_MANUAL_INDEX
Or enter the exact Desk Manual Index file name if it is different than the example.
    - Click the View button to verify the link works.
You may have to experiment with using the @ sign. It may not be required.
         Click the Apply button.
The Desk Manual Index will now appear as a Node under the Application Help Library. If the name is NOT fully displayed, click on the - (minus) sign to expand it.
    Link does not work
    - Change the information in the Data field.
    - Delete the @ and add .htm extension
    Example: DESK_MANUAL_INDEX.htm
    - Click the View button to verify the link works.
    - Click on the Save icon.
