KCFErrorDomainCFNetwork error 302

Yes -- the dreaded kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork error 302 message rears it's ugly head again. I've done searches and I've seen the posts in the Apple Discussions, but they are all in iPhone related forums, and quite frankly I think this is a Mac OS X Leopard problem, perhaps introduced with the iPhone 3G.
In my case: I have the problem from time to time, but most recently when requesting http://www.mmo-champion.com from both Safari 3.1.2 and Firefox 3.0.1 on Mac OS X 10.5.5. This worked fine before, but not sure what changed (and when) that caused it not to work any more. I can access other sites just fine.
I'm set up with O2 Broadband in the UK, and am using a double-NAT network solution to get to the internet (Public -> O2 Router -> AirPort Extreme -> laptop) and I don't have problems with other sites. I've tried restarting the network router (both soft and hard restarts) but it makes no difference. Could it be the web site? Maybe. I mean, I also have a Windows PC that can access the sites just fine on the same network... but perhaps the web site is doing something to offend Mac OS X, because other web sites work just fine.
Google search yields little help, which surprises me given the incredible number of folks that have this problem with blog-related sites, both on the iPhone and in laptops/desktops. With this much reporting, Apple should have at least recognized there's an issue.
So, to recap: I use Leopard, own an iPhone 3G and have iTunes 8 and iPhone 2.1 software installed. I cannot get to certain sites, with mmo-champion.com being the latest exhibit. The error I get, after a long time waiting (~120 seconds) is:
"Safari can’t open the page “http://mmo-champion.com/”. The error was: “Operation could not be completed. (kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork error 302.)” (kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork:302) Please choose Report Bugs to Apple from the Safari menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message."
Firefox reports something similar, but not the same exact error.
Any opinions would be well received.
Thanks,
Daniel
Edit: I didn't mean to sound arrogant or condescending; if I came across that way, my apologies. I'm more interested in the details of the problem, as opposed to seeking its solution. I just want to understand what's happening. And I think the PDF that explains these errors is lacking of the kind of details I seek. If someone knows what's going on, I'd love to read about it. While I have my Windows PC I'll be able to get my WoW news just fine

This is definitely a problem with the operating system. There are 2 macs in my house and 2 PCs. The problem never manifests on the PCs, so that validates it is not a problem with the network. Of the 2 macs in the house, the laptop is at the latest level and the desktop at an earlier version of OS X (my appologies here - I'm a UNIX/PC guy and just throwing info up that I've noticed to help my girlfriend). Both of the macs are wireless, but only the laptop exhibits the issue. This indicates that is is specific to the system.
The commonality between the laptop showing the problem here and other users is the operating system. This isn't a problem with any specific website, router, or hardware (that I'm aware of).
I dropped down to the command line and threw out a quick test. A simple ping to www.google.com form the affected mac laptop and a PC laptop. The PC had no issues, but the mac showed not only large return times for the packets, but packet loss. So, the error that is popping up would be shown by busy servers but, in this case it is an "incorrect" error code. They symptom and error code together make sense, but it is wrong.
The source of the long return times and significant packet loss is beyond me at this point. Rebooting the system seems to resolve the problem for a while but the problem creeps back up.
These are my observations. I don't have a solution yet and likely won't, but I'll continue to research and post any findings here. This is a software bug (as upgraded systems suddenly have the problem) and I'm hope the proper resolution is provided soon.

  • KCFErrorDomainCFNetwork error 302 - Meaning and fix?

    Hi everybody,
    I am getting random error messages called "kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork error 302" in Safari every now and then.
    To me, this looks like a problem either resolving the URL or a timeout while waiting for a page (since it takes time for Safari to come back with the error after a page was requested). The message is not related to a specific domain or page. Hitting reload eventually brings up the page.
    I have searched the forum but was not able to find a definite answer. Does this have something to do with HTTP Error 302? Any ideas?
    Best Regards, Matthias

    I get them toooooooo.
    And it's not Safari only issue. Firefox gives me some different message but refuses to open a page also.
    Restart helps sometimes but not for long. It seems there're a lot of people running Leopard getting these errors for some time already!!!
    What I can't understand is why Apple doing nothing about it... Looks like downgrading to Tiger is the only option at the moment If it's true...
    More upsetting is that this problem doesn't exist in windoze world.

  • KCFErrorDomainCFNetwork error 302 Solutions

    Hi,
    Has anyone found a solution to kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork error 302 error message.

    I'm also having this problem trying to access http://www.mmo-chamption.com from both Safari 3.1.2 and Firefox 3.0.1 on Mac OS X 10.5.5. This worked fine before, but not sure what changed (and when) that caused it not to work any more. I can access other sites just fine.

    Google search yields little help. I'm surprised Apple hasn't pin-pointed the problem. It's clearly with Mac OS X and some variable on the host site. I also have a Windows PC that can access the sites just fine on the same network. So I don't think it's my network. I have some complex port forwarding that works on my network, so it's design should not be a factor.
    Edit: I use Leopard, own an iPhone 3G and have iTunes 8 and iPhone 2.1 software installed. Could this be the common denominator beyond 'Mac OS X' ?

    Hi,
    I am working on a similar scenario where I my consuming an external web service using https protocol from PI.
    I have configured a soap receiver channel to call the target url of this web service as https://portal.xyz.org.uk/webservice_alt.
    I am getting an error HTTP 302 suggesting that PI is not able to follow the re-direction to the target URL as the service resides not on that URL but on https://portal1.xyz.org.uk/webservice_alt or https://portal2.xyz.org.uk/webservice_alt.
    This is their server fail over handling mechanism which is very common. But PI 7.0 is not able to handle this.
    So if I change the target URL on the SOAP receiver channel to  https://portal1.xyz.org.uk/web service  or  https://portal2.xyz.org.uk/webservice_alt , PI works fine without errors . But this is not the right approach because, every time the web service provider takes one of these systems down for upgrade/patching etc, they inform us and then I manually go and change the target URL to the available server on my production PI system config.
    My problem is I want to resolve this redirection error in PI. I have tried raising a call with SAP itself and they pointed out to use Axis adapter which is still not working.
    So I am here asking for help. any suggestions please from the experts?
    Thanks
    Jhansi.

  • Error -302

    When I try to get onto Itunes I get the following message:  Error -302 when loading url itmss://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewRoom?fcId=555468562  and cannot sign on.

    You give your feed URL at

    which at a quick look seems to be OK. However the URL iTunes is looking for is
    http://www.telerama.fr/rss/services/podcast_musiques.xml
    There is a 302 redirect on the server from this to the URL you give, which works in a browser but does not work when subscribing manually. (In fact though it's difficult to analyze it looks as if it is a double redirect - in other words there is an intermediate URL, which may be the problem. This intermediate URL appears to be

  • HTTP error 302: response.sendRedirect()

    Hi everybody,
    I have a first servlet (AGSenderServlet) sending a file to a second one (AGReceiverServlet). This second servlet I'm receiving a file and then redirect to a JSP page. But I'm getting the following exception:
    13-Sep-2010 13:20:42 org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve invoke
    SEVERE: Servlet.service() for servlet AGSenderServlet threw exception

            at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.doFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:206)
    ....I've looked on internet and apparently the error 302 is linked to response.sendRedirect().
    Here is my code:
    public class AGReceiverServlet extends HttpServlet {
         public void doGet(HttpServletRequest request,
                HttpServletResponse response)
         throws ServletException, IOException {
             // Create a factory for disk-based file items
              DiskFileItemFactory factory = new DiskFileItemFactory();
             // Create a new file upload handler
              ServletFileUpload upload = new ServletFileUpload(factory);
              String realPath = this.getServletContext().getRealPath("sync/in");
              List items = null;
                        try {
                             items = upload.parseRequest(request);
                        } catch (FileUploadException e) {
                             e.printStackTrace();
                        // Process the uploaded items
                        Iterator iter = items.iterator();
                        try {
                             String fileName = "blabla";
                             while (iter.hasNext()) {
                                  FileItem item = (FileItem) iter.next();
                                  // Process a file upload
                                  if (!item.isFormField()) {
                                       fileName = item.getName();
                                       long sizeInBytes = item.getSize();
                                       //Write to File

                                       File uploadedFile = new File(realPath);
                                       if (!uploadedFile.exists())
                                            uploadedFile.mkdirs();
                                       uploadedFile = new File(realPath+"/"+fileName);
                                       item.write(uploadedFile);
                             System.out.println("http://"+request.getServerName()+':'+request.getServerPort()+"/upTool/filereceived.jsp?filename="+fileName);
                             String redirectURL = "http://"+request.getServerName()+':'+request.getServerPort()+"/upTool/filereceived.jsp?filename="+fileName;
                             response.sendRedirect(redirectURL);
                        } catch (Exception e) {
                             e.printStackTrace();
         public void doPost(HttpServletRequest request,
                HttpServletResponse response)
         throws ServletException, IOException {
                   doGet(request, response);
    }The file received is saved properly and is ok.
    Using print out I have discovered that it was the running the whole code but not the code in filereceived.jsp (the JSP of the sendRedirect() ).
    I have tried the url used in the sendRedirect() and it works ok.
    Any idea?
    Cheers.

    The AGSenderServlet is sending a file to the AGReceiverServlet using multipart and Postmethod object. Here is the code.
    public class AGSenderServlet extends HttpServlet {
         public void doGet(HttpServletRequest request,
                HttpServletResponse response)
         throws ServletException, IOException {
              String filename = request.getParameter("filename");
              String ext = request.getParameter("ext");
              String serverName = request.getParameter("serverName");
              String port = request.getParameter("port");
              String path = null;
              String uri = "http://"+serverName+":"+port+"/AGReceiverServlet";
              File file = new File((this.getServletContext().getRealPath("/sync/out"))+"\\"+filename+'.'+ext);
              System.out.println("Test = "+file.getAbsolutePath());
              PostMethod post = new PostMethod(uri);
            Part[] parts = new Part[] {
                new FilePart(file.getName(), file) // File you want to upload
            post.setRequestEntity(new MultipartRequestEntity(parts, post.getParams()));
            // Now perform the POST and check for errors
            HttpClient http = new HttpClient();
            int status = http.executeMethod(post);
            if (status != HttpStatus.SC_OK) {
                throw new IOException("Received HTTP status code " + status);
         public void doPost(HttpServletRequest request,
                HttpServletResponse response)
         throws ServletException, IOException {
                   doGet(request, response);
    }Line 43 is just throw new IOException("Received HTTP status code " + status);What do you mean by " then you should handle it." ? I think I handle it. It redirects to the JSP filereceived.jsp which is hosted and available on the server (tried to access it directly by entering the url and it works).

  • Constantly getting error 302 when trying to export release build

    As the title says, I can't export a release build (any more) with Flash Builder 4.7 using AIR 3.5 (or 3.6 beta for that matter).
    The compilation process is immediately interrupted with error 302: Root content ... is missing from package.
    What can I do about this?
    BTW: @Adobe support, please check the forum login! I also constantly get an error 413 wich cancels the login process. Had to go to a computer where my cookie has been saved to get here.
    Edit: Using the debugger (iOS Simulator or ADT) works, though. Could someone please shed some light into this? I really have to test a release build.

    So, even after setting up a new project, the problem didn't go away. Seems as if the problem sits within the libraries I'm using, though none of them do show any errors or problems.
    Edit:
    I was wrong accusing Flash Builder on this one! I've had two asset source paths that overlapped and apparently, Flash Builder can't handle that when you try to make a release build. Again, debugging always worked fine. I didn't get any warnings either, so it took me quite some time to even think that that might be an issue.
    Still, the pletheora of Flash Builder bugs remains!
    Found a new one with is also rather annoying recently;
    Open the local history of a file and try to copy some text from that file, you'll instantly get a java nullpointer, resulting in the fact that the text isn't copied to the clipboard.
    Edit2:
    That last edit was actually based on a premature thought of success. Unfortunately, the project still doesn't compile. There are no errors or problems whatsoever in neither of the library projects or the main project.
    Edit3: - Finally solved it!
    After re-installing FB4.7, thus overwriting the old installation with all it's SDKs, I figured that the merged SDKs might have been causing this issue.
    I've merged SDKs several times before using FB4.7 and it worked fine all the time, the absolutely ridiculous way Adobe forces us to update the AIR SDK with 4.7 is so prone to error, that I might have made a mistake this time though.
    So for everyone who struggles with this issue as well, make sure your SDKs are in order! Also check the version numbers in air-sdk-description.xml which is located in the AIRSDK folder.

  • KCF Error Domain CF Network error 302

    Just migrated from a first generation iPhone to the new iPhone 3G yesterday and so far the 3G service is spotty at best. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It took the AT&T store 2.5 hours to get my phone activated. When they were done the internet service did not work.
    The 3G finally started working about an hour later and has been terrible. Most of the time it takes twice as long (not shorter) to load a page on the 3G than on Edge, if it works at all. I also keep getting network errors:
    "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding"
    and my new friend:
    "Safari can't open the page. The error was: "Operation could not be completed. (kCF Error Domain CF Network error 302.)"
    I also have the screen shots to prove it. Looks like Apple told someone in a Canadian thread, the reason for this error was due to a service provider, Rodgers in Canada? Well guess what Apple, I'm not in Canada, I'm in NJ and I'm having the same problem so I think you can throw that theory out the window. And by the way the cell tower is directly across the street from me so I can't see why there would be any issues.
    I've restarted the phone and reset the network preferences more times than I'd like to mention, which by the way, I never had to do on my first generation iPhone. I also have had the problems others are mentioning regarding iTunes not syncing my music back. I created a playlist and manually sync'd it back. I also noticed some TV shows I purchased from iTunes were not syncing over either.
    So far my 3G experience has been horrible and at this point, I will highly recommend to everyone I know that they DO NOT purchase this device until the issues are resolved. Just finished advising my co-worker of all the issues and he stated he is going to hold off.

    Hello, Perhaps you could clarify what's happening?
    - When does the error appear
    - What application are you using
    - What are you doing in the application
    - Does there seem to be any similarity between the errors? i.e. does it only happen at one o'clock in the afternoon or when you doing the same thing every time?
    - Have you tried rebooting or restoring the iPhone
    - You say it's only happened since you upgraded you iPhone. Do you mean you've upgraded to a 3G iPhone or you've just upgraded an original iPhone to v2.0?
    Howevre, given your error message, from the site:
    http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Networking/Reference/CFNetworkErrors/Re ference/reference.html#//appleref/doc/cref/kCFErrorHTTPConnectionLostError 302 is:
    kCFErrorHTTPConnectionLost
    *The connection to the server was dropped. This usually indicates a highly overloaded server.*
    I'm not sure what this error message specifically identifies the cause being on your iPhone but hopefully if you provide a bit more info we'll be able to work through it.

    Problably it's a google login problem from third party applications. ( I have the same issue with fantastical )

    Hi, how are you syncing  iCal to Google agenda after error (302). Is there any other app to use while google fix it? (Lion 10.72)

    No, it´s not a Lion issue, it is a issue with ical. Google has stopped the hability to erase appointments from ical in order to correct a bug. Meanwhile I´m looking for alternatives to bypass this with another software. Do you have any idea?
