Keyboard Bloq. Num. activated by default

Hi
I need to configure the Bloq. Num key power on when users try to connect to them virtual desktop.
We use thin clients Sun Ray 2, that connect with two Sun Ray Server 4.2 (in FOG Failover group) running on Solaris 10 x86 64 bits.
The users are calling to me always because they passwords don't work. If they have numbers in their passwords, and the bloq. num is desactivated, the number don't work. If the user activate the bloq. num manually, all works fine.
But I think that in some place I can configure the bloq. num activated before they login to their virtual desktop.
My servers:
2 Sun Ray 4.2 in FoG
Sun Ray Windows Connector 2.3
Sun Ray Connector for VMware View Manager 1.2
Solaris 10 10/09 x86 64 bits -
Thanks.

Hi larjona,
this is how I did it ...
1.) go to Sun Ray Server console and type
# uxconfig -a -k off
2.) Create Script
$ cat /etc/opt/SUNWut/xinitrc.d/1100.SUNWut
# Turn of screen blanking for kiosk sessions only
# Turn on numlock for kiosk sessions only
if [ "$SUN_SUNRAY_TOKEN" != "" ] && [ "$KIOSK_SESSIONS_DIR" != "" ]
then
/usr/openwin/bin/xset -dpms s off
/usr/openwin/bin/xset led 1
fi
chmod a+x etc/opt/SUNWut/xinitrc.d/1100.SUNWut
3.) ln -s /etc/opt/SUNWut/xinitrc.d/1100.SUNWut /usr/dt/config/Xsession.d/1100.SUNWut
4.) restart session (utsession -k ...)
regards, thomas
PS: This was on a plain Sun Ray Server, but at least the NumLock is on then ...

  • How to detect what keyboard is currently active on desktop?

Hi there, I'm working on a virtual keyboard (window with buttons as keys) for my swing application. When I show keyobard window I would like to adjust the layout of my virtual keyboard to system keyboard that is currently active on desktop. But I don't know how to detect what keyboard is currently active. How to detect this? Thank you.

I answered my own question - see
    http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Loading-and-Running-a-VI-on-a-cRIO-from-a-PC/td-p/796657
On the Real-Time CompactRIO Properties > VI Server, you must check the box for TCP/IP protocol, which by default is unchecked.
Also, when you make a Build Specification for a VI and set it to run on startup, you can still enter the VI name (not c:\ni-rt\startup\startup.rtexe) as the VI Path on the Open VI Reference.

    Hi Karthik,
Refer to this doc, ATM stands for Automatic table maintenance and as per below is explained a bit better. The attachment is the scn doc desbribing it in much more detail and should address all your queries.
DBA Cockpit: Automatic Table Maintenance for Sybase ASE
1835880 SYB: How to diagnose issues with Sybase ASE Job Scheduler, ATM, or Scheduled Jobs
The advantages as stated by document is automatic maintenance of objects as required to reduce workload of DBA and improve performance /DB of stability as well. It does lightweight scheduled maintenance activities. My wording to describe it may not be entirely correct you should read the DOC it is very helpful.

  • Wireless keyboard delay before active for Intel Mac Mini

I posted this many moons ago when I got my Intel Mac Mini. The issue was never resolved even though several users found it to be a problem. I am reposting the issue to see if there is any progress. I took my Intel Mini in to the Genius Bar at an Apple store. He thought it was a software issue related to the dual processor and thought it would be corrected by an update. This apparently has not happened yet.
When I start up my Mac Mini, the wireless keyboard is not active immediately. When the login screen appears, there is a delay of maybe 20 -30 seconds before a keystroke will show up even though the cursor is blinking on the screen. If I hit a key more than once during the end of this delay period, all the keystrokes eventually show up.
Mac Mini (Intel Core Duo)   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

I just bought new Mac mini w/ wireless keyboard and track pad. During initial setup it would not pair to keyboard but it di see trackpad. I could not complete setup, I have no control.  Brought home USB keyboard from work and resumed setup. I'm stuck again. In setup it's asking for a trackpad click to continue. The trackpad will scroll, but will not click. The whole system is two days old and nothing works  I tried to contact support through the lengthy online screening process and apple ultimately say the new system doesn't qualify for free support.
Totally ******. I'm back to using my old pc..  What to do with this expensive boat anchor from apple?
Really could use some help here
    Thanks

  • How can we keep "Preview" mode activated by default

Is there a way we can keep the "Preview" mode activated by default when applying new styles, etc.? I hate always having to click the "Preview" button. Of course I want to see what it looks like before applying the effect!!!

Basically and currently: No, assuming by styles you actually mean effects.
You could set up graphic style libraries and use them instead of applying effects through modal dialogs. That may or may not be practical in your environment …

Check your batteries in the wireless hardware.
For the wired hardware see KB Article & do the necessary:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379

  • Keyboard & trackpad not active when booted!

    Got a white 2.0GHz Intel Core2Duo 13" with 1GB RAM and OS 10.5.8.
The keyboard and trackpad are suddenly locked when the the machine is booted. The cursor is in the same place after restart - not movable - but not frozen either. Because when I insert a CD or DVD it autostart the respective item, and the cursor becomes the spinning beach ball for some seconds....iow. NOT frozen. None of the keyboard buttons will work except the on/off button. So I thought for a minute that the keyboard was physically shortcutted. But upon restart, I was able to run a PRAM reset (Alt-Cmd-R-P) - also ejecting a DVD, that would NOT eject when fully booted....
So it must be a software related problem. Or is it a "panel lock" or "key lock" function that I've activated accidentally???
Thanks for any input on this. I will in the meantime try to restart from the OS DVD.

    Some additional info:
System profile tells me it's a MacBook 1,1 with a Intel Core Duo (not a Core2) - if it makes any difference.
Well, I booted up from a Leopard install DVD, and everything related to keyboard and trackpad works. Run Repair Disk Permissions, and Verify Disk - just when I'm at it!
Restart from internal disk again....Nope. No keyboard or mouse action....
Time the reinstall the complete OS perhaps.

  • Keyboard input to change the default selection in a dialog box.

    Hello,
Let say I close a file that I had just edited without saving. I'll then have a dialog box "do you want to save?" with "yes" as default. If I do not want to save my changes, how can I select "no" or "cancel" with the keyboard?
I'm sure this is an easy one for a long time Mac user.
    Thanks

As a matter a fact there is. Just hit the first letter of the choice n = no, c=cancel etc. Edit. I tested this in Word for Mac and it worked but other programs don't so the method below is best.
An alternate method is to tab to the choice and hit enter.
    Cheers

  • How can I make the activity bar default to the right FF window bottom instead of the left?

The activity bar that pops up whenever a page or page item is loading defaults to the left bottom of the FF 4.0 window. It shifts over to the right bottom when I put the mouse pointer on it. But then it's back on the left the next time. Is there any way to make it default to the right side permanently? With most sites it's less in the way there.

Thanks. Rolling over it will force it to the right side, but just until it pops up again. Because it's forced to the opposite side anytime it's rolled over, I can't grab it to move it to the inactive Toolbar bin. If possible, I'd like to keep it but have it default to the right instead of the left.

  • Hotkeys do not work when non-english keyboard layout is active

I live in Russia and use Russian keyboard layout pretty frequently. Also, I am a big fan of using hotkeys. But the problem is that in any Aperture version, hotkeys only work when english/U.S. layout is active. It's pretty annoying to switch back and forth.

You can tell Apple how you want this fixed at

  • Firefox wont load/browse unless keyboard/mouse is active

Firefox last automatically updated for me the other day.
Since then when I open firefox, I can click on the desktop icon or the quick launch, in either case it seems like firefox never opens unless I click with my mouse or hit a key(s) on the keyboard, then it suddenly appears.
Firefox has a similar issue when browsing now, I can type in an address or click a link. But it sits their idle with the progress bar about half full like it has no connectivity, but the moment you move the mouse or push something on the keyboard, the web page starts loading properly.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to fix this? Will attempt to reinstall shortly and see if that resolves the issue.
    == This happened ==

    Hello....
(RE: Windows XP SP3, Firefox update 3.6.6)
This has gotten borderline ridiculous....no, wait.....it is absolutely bloody ridiculous.
A couple of days ago the Firefox "plugin-container.exe started eating a massive amount of CPU, somewhere in the range of 95%.
I was related to the Adobe Flash and Shockwave Flash Plug in....when disabled it would crash flash based videos while watching and then refuse to reload them until the plugin was enabled. They was a ton of feedback on the CPU difficulties as related to the plugin-container.exe and its conflict with flash.
Then last night I got back and once I opened up Firefox I was immediately prompted to load the Firefox Update 3.6.6 which I did. Now I have a new problem........
When I am watching or try to load up flash based videos the videos will not play unless either my mouse or keyboard is active, by that I mean I will press play for the video and it seems to load up but will not play or run sound unless I sit there making little circles with my mouse...
Now I don't need some door knob telling me I have an internal "conflict" and to uninstall and reinstall a dozen or so programs.....this is simply a continuation of the original "plugin container.exe" crash bug and now it is in the guise of 3.6.6
This needs to be looked at quickly...
    C'mon guys...get it together!!!!!!!

  • Activating SAP Default indexes

    Hi,
After a fresh SAP installation, our ABAP team request to activate an index on table VBFA
    On these fields ;
    MANDT

There is a default index on that VBFA table already. (switched off)
But. There it shows as  "Index does not exist in database system ORACLE"
    (check the attached screenshots)
When trying to activate this index, it gives some warnings and activation is not possible...
    How to activate this index?
Why these indexes are not activate automatically after the installation?

  • Wireless keyboard fn key on by default

I just got a new HP Omni-27 desktop (Windows 7 64-bit) which comes with a KG-1162 wireless keyboard.  The problem is that the fn status of the function keys is reversed from what it should be.  As an example, the f10 key dims the display instead of sending an f10 code to the application, and fn+f10 sends an f10 code instead of dimming the display.  This makes the keyboard extremely frustrating when trying to use applications that make heavy use of function keys, like MS Office products and developer IDEs.  Another example is interactive games which require use of the function keys, but you rarely have an extra finger free to also hold down the fn key.  This is analagous to trying to use a keyboard that doesn't have a Caps Lock key, but always acts as if Caps Lock were on.  Of the several keyboards I use in the course of a day, this is the only one that acts this way.  I'd really like to find a way to fix this before I throw this keyboard out and buy one that works as it should.  Here's what I've tried and learned so far:
The very few references I've been able to find in a Google search either suggest things that don't work, or suggest it's a vendor problem.
A chat with HP technical support did not help.
I verified that a non-HP wireless keyboard tethered to a non-HP laptop running Windows 7 acts properly.
I verified that a USB keyboard plugged into my PC works properly.
My previous HP PC running Vista with a different HP wireless keyboard worked properly while it lived.
My conclusion is that the problem is likely tied to the driver for this particular model of wireless keyboard.  Can anyone help with a fix (other than throw it out and use one that works properly)?
    This question was solved.

[Updated to add newer info from the keyboard manual.]
The f1 to f11 keys perform as either multimedia keys, or standard function keys. The default is multimedia.
To switch from multimedia to standard function, press the fn+esc keys simultaneously; this locks the keys to standard function. To switch back from standard function to multimedia, press the fn+esc keys simultaneously again.
Pressing the fn key simultaneously with an f1 to f11 key, performs the standard function.
Press fn+fx during system startup to use the function keys to access and utilize the BIOS functions (such as Boot Menu or System Recovery).
If the mouse and keyboard do not respond, refer to the wireless mouse and keyboard troubleshooting information located with your other product documentation.
For better mouse battery life and performance, avoid using your mouse on dark or high-gloss surface, and turn mouse power off when not in use.
Please let me know if this solves your problem!

By default to activate bluetooth and install its drivers you need to press Fn+F5(for first time use).
I'm looking for a way to have bluetooth already activated(and installed) by default.
