Landed costs: actual duty proportioned on value not quantity

Hello experts,
When using the landed costs form, our client types in the value of their duty in the actual duty (actual customs) field. SAP Business One then says do you wish to spread the costs proportionately. They select YES and the duty is proportioned based on quantity. If they say NO it does not.
They say that duty needs to be spread across the items based on value and not quantity. They would like this functionality to be added to future versions if possible. I am therefore posting this thread as a suggestion.
Currently they are manually calculating the duty based on value and adding this in to SAP Business One.
Kind regards,
Andy

Hi,
Are you using the Projected Duty field which is just above the 'Actual Duty' field?
Actual Customs
Actual customs are calculated as follows:
Actual customs = (FOB + included for customs landed costs) x fixed customs rate %.
Note
The fixed customs rate is defined in the Customs Group field on the Purchasing Data tab of the item master data.
Specify the actual customs amount. If the data in SAP Business One is accurate, this amount equals the value in the Proj. Customs field. If the amounts are different, SAP Business One displays a window with an option to divide different amounts equally.
May be you can check that upon having the Proj. Duty field populated, you still have the issue or not. Check in Demo for its working.
Kind Regards,
Jitin

  • Free goods by header net value not Quantity

    Regards
My client wants to make a sales promotions as the free goods SD. The difference is that free goods should not be given by the bought quantity of certain material, they should be given from the header net value of an order.
    For example:
If a customer have an order with header net value of 100$ from only materials that has certain material pricin group, it should receive one free good.( All the materials in the order have the same material pricing group)
If a customer have an order with header net value of 200$ from only materials that has certain material pricin group, it should receive two free goods.
If there are ways to make this happen please let me know i would really appreciate it.
    Thanks

    Hi ronald,
The userexit option is very tough to do.
You are using a right userexit, but how are you coding it? Whats your design and flow?
The BDC are programmable recordings of a standard transaction. Hence you will be able to record the way in which you add a line item to sales order. Ths recording is automatically converted into lines of code by SAP. Then you insert your checks and balances between these lines of code to make it behave the way you want the sequence of transactions to work.
My thought was to make a recording of adding a new line item, in change sales order transaction(va02), with item category as Free of Charge(FOC). Then in the code, I wanted to check for material pricing group, if found correct, then would go finding the net value of sales document. If the value is above the limit, calculate the target quantity. Then follow the rest of the recording and add a new line with FOC as item category.
But this was a seperate transaction, which could be applied seperately and not to be done automatically in sales order. This was becuase say if you switch off the promotion tomorrow, then you will not have to worry abt removing the same functionality from sales order, you just need to de-activate the transaction.
Then there would be issues of doing hardcoding the net value limits, free good quantity in the user exit which is not at all recommended.
    Hope this helps.

  • Error Landed Cost - Customs rate not valid (SAP B1 9.0 PL10)

    Hello experts,
We would like your advise on the following issue.
We are currently using SAP Business One 9.0 (PL10) and we are trying to add a Landed Cost document, but the following error occurs:
Customs rate not valid.  [Landed Costs - Rows - Duty Rate]
The SAP Note: '1928862 - An Error occurs when adding Landed Costs', which describes the error, is listed in the References section of PL09 and PL10 upgrade. However, the error still occurs.
Any advise on how to solve this issue?

  • Landed Costs in R/3 - USA

    Hello SAP-experts,
we are dealing with a SAP implementation in the USA where the monitoring and handling of "landed costs" is a big issue. I could only find this expression in SAP Business One but not for R/3.
How are other companies in the US handling this issue ? By adding landed costs (freight, duty, etc...) directly to the standard price of the material in MM, using statistical conditions in SD for having the possibility to determine the correct contribution margin or other possibilities ?
I would appreciate to share your experiences for "landed costs" in R/3, especially for how this requirement is maintained for the USA.
    Thanks a lot and regards,
    Sebastian

    Hi erverybody,
this is a double posting. Anybody who can contribute please answer the in the "Landed Costs in R/3" thread in ERP Financials.

  • Create Invoice from multiple GRPOs with Landed Costs

    Hello all, again,
Sorry to bother again, but this one seems strange to me. Consider the following business process:
    1) One Purchase Order is created in SAP, and sent to provider (no journal entry)
    2) Several partial deliveries are received and posted to inventory (inventory @ invoices to be received)
    3) Partial deliveries are pulled into Landed Costs document (inventory @ invoices to be received)
    4) Steps 2) and 3) may be repeated several times
    5) Invoice of provider is received, with the total amount as per PO
Now in step 5, I have no possibility of "pulling" the PO from step 1), neither pulling the GRPOs created in step 2), because they were used in the Landed Costs document. It is also not possible to "push" the PO to Invoices (only the open amount would be pushed, not the delivered amount). It is only possible to push a single GRPO to Invoices, resulting in lots of manual work and incorrect representation of provider's invoices (1 PO is delivered in up to 100 different shipments of varying quantity).
The only reasonable solution I see at the moment, is to use a service invoice and post it directly to the "invoices to be received" account. Or do you have any other ideas/solutions?
    Thanks for your suggestions,
    Joerg.

I should is correct. Yet it is not possible. I am using 2007 SP00, PL 47.
Do you think I should send the issue to SAP? Do you know of any notes about this issue?
    Thanks,
    Joerg.

  • Landed costs and custom duty

    Hello
I have an issue with landed cost and customs duty
The actual customs duty when it is corrected is OK when you use one supplier and one good receipt
when it is with many suppliers and many goods receipts and when you want to correct the actualduty the split is wrong it brings the same value for every item and the split is wrong because it must be based on the item line value...
Did anyone experience the same issue is it corrected with an more recent patch or is there a workaround ?
    SAP BO1 2007A PL39

I am afraid if you need to correct a landed cost with many suppliers and many goods receipts, there may not have any available logic but reverse the entire transaction and redo it.  Line item correction for financial transaction may not be possible due to system restriction.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • Landed Costs - Not Enough Data Message

    Support,
When adding a Landed Cost into SAP 8.8 and using the 'Copy from' Goods Receipt PO, i insert an amount under the 'costs' tab and click on 'Add' I get the following message:
    Not enough Data [Message 173-1]
Would anyone be able to shed any light on this message?
    Juan

Solution found shortly after raising this thread. Problem was that the user had entered a zero valued PO and Goods Receipt PO.

  • Landed Cost not showing in Inventory Audit

I have a query that goes against the OIPF/IPF1 tables to locate all Landed Cost transactions for a particular item. To test/verify the query, I ran the Inventory Audit report for the item. There are transactions returned from the query that do not show in the Inventory Audit report. Is there any reason or circumstance under which a Landed Cost Transaction would not show in the Inventory Audit report. I checked against all warehouses. This does not seem to be a singular event in that I have found random occurences of this for different items yet the majority of the time the Audit Report returns all entries.

    Dear Cristian
    Please check the Following things.
1)First check audit report for a Single Product.
2)Select all warehouse in Audit report.
    3) Check you landed cost entry if your JV not pass in landed cost, so landed Cost not reflected in you audit report. (Auto JV not pass in SAP 2005 Version)
Please check and Let me Know.

  • Landed costs can not get Goods receipt PO when Goods return made

    Hi, everybody
I need to calculate landed costs and it seems that I can not use when I built a Goods return.
My procedure as follow ( ps: the same vendor number)
    1. created a PO then Goods receipt PO (docNum says 1111) which included 20 quanties for item no AAAA.
    2. created a Goods return which Copy from Goods receipt PO no: 1111, which included 5 quanties for item no AAAA.
    3. next, I try to caculate my Landed costs. I open a new Landed costs and click the button "Goods Receipt PO", but I can not find any Goods receipt PO no: 1111.
What can I do to caculate my exactly landed costs & Goods receipt PO no: 1111 that included 15 quanties?
    Thanks for your help

When you only Returned partial goods from your Receipt.  The Receipt should still be open and you should be able to process the Landed cost. I am not sure why the GR is not showing in the landed costs window.
Please check if the GR is closed by an AP Invoice / by itself.
Otherwise, you will need to process AP Goods Return for the remaining 15 and process a New Goods Receipt for 15.

  • Landed Cost error based Goods receipt note

I have the following scenario at a client trying to post landed cost in US dollar against a GRN also in US dollar for a supplier set to US$
The following message displays trying to post the landed cost: Transaction currency differs from BP or account currency:
    1) The supplier has been used numerous times before and is in UD$ currency
    2) The General ledger clearing accounts is also set to All currencies
    3) We also deleted all the lines on the landed cost document and with only one line on the document the message still appeared.
Some of the items has been sold in the meantime and part of the offset posting will be posted to Cost of sales. The Cost of sales accounts is set to South African Rand. I thought that will be a problem and I have set them to various currencies and still could not post the landed cost document in US$
I also upgraded from PL49 to SP1 PL05 and still the issue prevails.
Any assistance will be much appreciated.

Assuming no error can be found in the DB/CM log files, have you verified the scheduled settings for this program? Try to schedule it again and see if this helps.

  • Deemed export duty values not captured in ARE3 DOCUMENT

    HELLO
I am testing for deemed export scenario against CT3 form
As per requirement condition values JEX2 /JECS/JA1Y are amintained zero in sales document
hence zero duty is captured in excise invoice
while creating ARE3 document through tcode:J1A301 the base amount and duty rate is captured.
    but duty values are zero.
Pls guide how can we capture duty vales in ARE3 document.
    Rgds Mugdha
Edited by: Mugdha Patil on Feb 25, 2011 7:10 AM

    Dear Atul,
in Deemed export after doing commercial invoice - capture the excise details in j1iin and click whether you are doing are3 with Licence. the values has to be there it must not be zero. After that you have to capture ARE3 in j1ia301.
if the value is not flowing in j1iin then your customizing has some problem ie in TAX on goods movement the basic setting - determination on excise duty you must have not maintained the default conditions for excise in your TAXINN or TAXINJ procedure,
Try this and let us know

  • Landed Cost In Purchase

We are using ECC 6 version. We are creating Import Purchase Order on supplier of material in US$. After Import of material we want to load Custom Duty & Other CHA charges to material.Kindly suggest any way to add the Landed Cost for Import of material so that my value of material will show Actual Import Value + Landed Cost for correct consumtion value of material. Pls guide me.
    Thanks & Regards
    Mukesh

    Hi
Are you using the conditions of taxes for the Import duty. If the import duty is not recoverable then the NAVS is used to load the charge on the material. For the CHA charges you can use standard conditions relating to freight or you can create new ones and use that in the pricing procedure.
    Thanks
