Language translation of Condition text

Hi Friends,
I am working on an Implementation Project & would need your inputs on the following requirement:
Condition Texts are maintained in ECC at a Condition Record level. This is maintained in English and would be uploaded using a BDC / LSMW program. The client requires this Condition Text to be translated in the end user Log In language i.e, When we login to the SAP system with French language, we should be able to see text in french language and similarly for other languages too.
Is there any SAP OSS note / standard FM which can be used to address this Condition Text translation? Any help from your end would be most encouraging.
Thanks & regards
Manish tiwari

Hi Manish,
The required texts are stored in table TMC1T.
And here is the description how to maintain and transport the condition
table description:
1. Logon in language, where the description is missing (e.g. German).
2. Tranaction V/04, enter the table number
   ->ENTER
3. Either enter a text into the description field (next to the table
number) or you press the button 'Text vorschlagen/pflegen'
('Propose/maintain text') at the right-hand side. This proposes the
short text of the (variable) key fields as table descripiton.
4. Press the 'Generieren' ('Generate') button at the top left-hand side.
Now you can save your changes.
5. Transaction SE09: Here you can see the transport request with the
   transportation objects R3TR VKOI A*** and R3TR VKOS A***.
The TMC1T table entries are part of the VKOI transportation object.
So if you release the transport, the desciption will also be
   transported.
I hope this information is helpful.
Thanks,
Alex

    Hi poojith,
    thanks for your response,
how can I use this message pool in my code. I know the message pool has been used for warning messages and can be called in the application as wdcomponentAPI.getmessagemanager.reportWarning (.....)..
but in my case it is a checkbox group where fields will be fetched from a database dynamically when we run the application
    for (int i = 0; i < abcprp.length; i++) {
              ICheckboxGroupElement theElement =     wdContext.nodeCheckboxGroup().createCheckboxGroupElement();
              strName = abcprp<i>.getName().toString();
                    theElement.setFieldNames(strName);
    wdContext.nodeCheckboxGroup().addElement(theElement);
I have got more than 50 fields which I will get from the above code..

  • Sections and conditional text

    Hello.
I work with technical documents that are translated into 5 languages. This documents have 16 main sections. I would like to put, in the footpage of any page, the name of the section. I know that I can enclose this 16 sections with the Numbering and sections options, but just in one language. I would like to put in the section marker name some conditional text (1 label per language): Introduccíón (spanish) Introduction (english) and so on. Is it possible?
Another easy way to do it? I wouldn't like that the translators have to translate every section marker in every document. I want to make it automatic.
Another option is create 16 master pages (one per section) and put on it conditional text, but I don't want 16 master pages.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

Sorry but I can't explain it as clear as I would because english is not my mother tongue.
Yes, this sections have a title. For example, the point 1 is "Introducción" and I want that, in the footpage of the Introducción pages, put "Introducción" atutomatically. With the point 2, 3, 4, and so on, the same. Then, when I send it to our translators, they generate a new document in the target language based on the original. It would be nice if they translate those titles (Introduction, etc) automatically the footpage is updated.
This book documents are divided in 3 .indd files: 1 per front cover and index. 1 per the body of the document. 1 per the back cover. I want this footpage just in the second .indd file.
I use conditional text for some facts. For example, if you choose the label USA, you will see in the footpage "Instalation manual". If you choose Spain, you will see 'Manual de instalación'. In my first post I was talking about conditional text because I'm used to use it, but I can see other options.
    Thanks.

  • Problem in language Translation

    Hi Experts,
I am having problem in language translation of smart form.
I have include all text as text element and have done translation in SE63. But when I login in to translated language the output remains in English.
I have made the translation from English to Chinese in SE63.
Please suggest why the output does not come into translated language.

    Hi ,
I have been working on translations for 8 months now. I think i can resolve your issue.
Remember one thing in mind when you do translations firstly when you go to se 63 and make some changes make sure that you have not opened the smartform in Change mode. If you do so then you will face this sort of probelm. As per your messages i think you have already checked the language in the form
If not make sure you do it. Now try again in SE63 make changes in what ever langauage you are doing and then "saveactive" .
One more final thing if anytext in smartform say   &invoivce_no& is blank in smartform then it will not show up in se63 i think you know about this.

  • SMARTFORMS language translations are not stored

    Experts,
I am trying to translate a SMARTFORM from Language EN to Languages ES, PT & DE.
After maintaining translations using SE63 when I check the output it is giving the correct output with language translations but after changing the english version again, when I tried to give the output in language ES, PT & DE all my translations are gone. I dont know the reason why it happened, even I have created the transport using the program 'RS_LXE_RECORD_TORDER' as well.
Again I did the same thing second time i .e. translated the texts in different languages and again changed the form in language EN (base language) and activated it and after this, again I have tried to give the output in languages ES, PT and DE, again the same all my translations are gone and displaying only in English language.
Kindly give some ideas so that this problem get resolved.
    Thanks,
    Kalikonda.

    Jay,
Allotted points for your advice, but actually before asking this question I already searched in the forums and found the same program, but I thought that since my language translations are not getting stored, I may be using wrong program for the transport to be generated.
Thank you very much for your advice and help.
    Kalikonda.

    Amr,
do you mind explaining how one would translate the static text? I have imported my Webi report into Translation Manager but all I seem to be able to translate are Query names and Report Names. I can't find any reference to free cells in my reports.

  • Language translation problem

    Hi,
I would like to set the language to be the browser language, but i am having problem translating to language other than German.
I have the .xlf file Test.wdview.xlf (US English as default/Project language) Test.wdview_de.xlf (German translation) and Test.wdview_fr.xlf (French translation)
If i set my browser language to be German, it picks up the correct translation, but when I change the browser language to French, I get the US text instead of frech translation.
I even tried to rename the suffix of the file to be fr-fr and fr_fr.
    Any idea why that's happened?

There is a setting each user can make.
    Transaction SBWP
Menu item Settings => Workflow settings => Personal settings
In the lower part you find the option (in English) "Display work item texts in logon language".
For translation, I've seen other solutions, but one that also works is to log in to the system in the language you want to translate to and just translate and save the text.
    or
Use the transaction code SE63 to translate the workitem texts....

  • Language translation in java

i think u may have seen some site have a facility to translation there language in to other
    language.
    so what i want here
a component for translating one language to another.
how can i do that can any one help me pl
i want it as a component so that it can be embeded/integrated in to all existing websites
    like ASP , JSP
    & any applications.
so pl help me & tell me what can i do PL
    Thk for your time
    Bye
    Harsh

Making it so it can be called from different scripting languages is not really possible, you would need to port the code to the different languages or provide the component as some sort of SOAP service.
As for the translation, there are some online services that allow you to translate pieces of text, but they aren't perfect. Single words may work, but whole texts will look pretty much like a child wrote them. Websites that support multiple languages usually have their text in a database for all the languages they support.
Hope that answers at least part of your question.

  • Language Translation in Report

    hi all,
we are working on implementing SAP across 4 countries and server is central. Now my requirement is, in some of the reports which are developed for use in all these countries, in those reports user wants display in their own local language (user's Logon Language). I can convert the text elements for column headings etc. using menupath GOTO-->Translation also i can fetch data from some tables which has language field SPRAS in it (say MAKT table for Material Description) by passing SY-LANGU field in query. so far it is ok.
NOw I want to know that how can I translate the Value of the fields which are of type C in data dictionary table (e.g. BNAME field in VBAK table) ,b'coz VBAK doesn't have SPRAS or any language fields and still i have to translate it in 4 diff languages.
My Problem is i want to translate the value of table field at run-time i want to do this translation in my program after i fetch that table field vaule in Internal table of my program and before displaying that value in output.
hope my question is clear to u...

  • Graphics in Language Translation

Platform: WinXP 64-bit / Adobe CS5 Design Premium
    Hi,
Is there a preferred method for handling graphics (and leaders/callouts) in InDesign for language translation? And while I'm at it, ditto for content reuse.
I realize that translation & single-sourcing are two gigantic topics so I'll keep this question basic. In the screenshot I pasted below, the top graphic was done in Illustrator - including the leaders and callouts - and pasted as a whole into InDesign.
The bottom graphic was placed into InDesign minus the leaders & callouts, which were then added directly in InDesign.
We are looking into translating our manuals into four or five languages; being new to this, we'd like to know if one method of placing graphics/leaders/callouts is better than the other to facilitate language translation.
As far as single-sourcing goes, I'm at a loss as to which would work better. If I select a callout that was added in InDesign and view it in the story editor, obviously only that callout shows up. Any callouts are assigned a paragraph style; I've imported docbook & started creating a mapping of paragraph styles to basic xml tags. Ok the more I look at this babble I'm going to nix this part of the question...
If you've dealt with graphics & callouts in language translations (successfully or not) I would love to hear from you. Thanks!
    Dan

First off - as usual, Bob is dead right about XP64. InDesign isn't the only relevant application to be known to be wonky on XP64 - most of the the translation memory tools I've used have also been reported to behave in unpredictable ways on XP64. However, when InDesign drops the ball, you can tell - this is not always the case when your Chinese text (that you can't read) is slowly being corrupted by your TM tool.
Anyways, I am the nerd-of-all-trades in a language service provider, and I'd have to say that the answer to your question would require some serious investigation into your workflow - investigation that, to be completely frank, would only be worthwhile to someone who was going to get paid at the end. First you'd have to ask the question "Are we jobbing the whole deal out to a third party, or are we going to do some of the work in-house?" This has a sheaf of attendant questions ("Are we relying on our language service provider to maintain translation memories for us, or are we going to do it ourselves?" "To what extent do we already have the linguistic expertise in-house?" "To what extent are our layout jockeys going to want to learn to manage this stuff?") and each one of those answers leads to a decision-tree that requires still more answers in order to get to answers.
I deal with all kinds of files, some built with XML-driven content management in mind, others made by people who learned on Publisher and draw a separate text box for each paragraph. Each kind of document-construction strategy has advantages and drawbacks, and "where are the captions?" is surprisingly deep. You could use the Captions feature in ID - but that kind of in-ID automation has consequences for the translation team, depending on whether they're using a translation tool to process the IDML files, or if they're working directly in ID, or if they're threading stories and running text out in RTF format, or if they're checking out stories with InCopy or etc. etc. etc.
Big tech-translation firms have the resources to start answering these questions for you, because they want your money.   If you know how far you're going to go w/r/t outsourcing vs. in-house content management, start shopping around and their sales guys will happily promise you all kinds of impossible services. If you want an independent point of view, you actually want someone to sit down with you, closely examine your current monolingual workflow, discuss the linguistic resources you want to bring to bear on it, and then think about how you're doing your captions. Just don't do your images as TIFFs so the poor ol' DTP jockey has to open up 1000 tech diagrams in Photoshop and manually erase the rasterized captions and re-make 'em in Illy or ID; that way you won't rack up unnecessary DTP charges.
But, with all three paragraphs of disclaimer above, I can say this: You'll most likely (uhh, 80% chance?) be better off if you can keep all of your text in final layout format in a single application. That might be InDesign, or frankly, it might be FrameMaker.

  • Smartform language translation

    Hi all,
I am working with a Purchase Order smartform. My requirement is depending on the Vendor language the Smartform should be printed in that particular language. For example if the Vendor language is FI, the smartform should be printed in Finnish language. In the smartform I have several Hardcoded Lables and texts in English language. How can I go for the translation of the smartform.
    Waiting for replies. Thanks

    Hi,
<b>Now if the language of the Vendor to which this Purchase Order is to issued is Finnish</b>
at this time ,did you get language into any variable ?
if yes , as Ravi suggested , change the standard text language with variable like below
or capture the language into a variable and include it in standard text
    Example:
/: INCLUDE z_txt OBJECT TEXT ID txt LANGUAGE <b>&Variable&</b>
    Name: z_text
    Object: Text
Text id: Txt (Text id from SO10)
    Language: variable
In the smartform I got the language into a variable and according to what you have explained I need to go with standard texts in SO10 and use the required language standard text in the form depending on the langauge in the variable. Please correct me if I understood something wrong. - <b>yes you are correct</b>
And again my question is cant I use SE63 translated Finnish form instead of the standard texts
<b>No , use standard texts only .Translation will be used in case of different language logins, but standard text has to be created in different languages</b>

  • Language Translate in Transport Request

    Hello,

    What could be the reason.
    Thank You for your help.

    Hello Anil,
yes,  we can see only the report text and report name in transport request.
But when you assign a new request for the same report or report text  , and after that translating the text , then all the translations will move to the same request , Nowhere in SAP you are able to c the translation texts in a request.
So Assign a new request and translate them , Activate them and release.
