Laser Sensor Voltage Does Not Settle At Zero

Hello wise ladies and (mostly) gentlemen. Have a problem for you that has got me quite frustrated.
My current setup:
Wenglor Reflex Laser Sensor: http://www.wenglor.com/index.php?id=346&L=0%27&tx_wsproductlister_pi1%5BArtikelNR%5D=YR24PCT2&tx_wsp...
SCC-A10
SC-2345
DAQ 6036E
Labview (can't remember what version).
The sensor is connected to a 24V power supply, with the output of the sensor to the positive terminal of the SCC-A10, and the neutral of the power supply to negative terminal. Theoretically, (I measured these voltages with a multimeter) it jumps from around 23.2V to 0V, depending on if it is in NO (Normally Open) or NC mode. When everything above is hooked up, and my VI running, I get the output of the sensor going crazy when it is supposed to be sitting at 0V. The 23.2V side of things is fine however.
The left side of the graph is for output of 23.2V, right side is the theoretical zero. But instead it seems to be going crazy between 2.32V and -1.5V (SCC-A10 is a voltage divider by 10). WHY??????
Block diagram of VI:
Input mode is referenced single ended, sensor range is -10 to 10 V. Connected on ACH6 or 14.
HELP PLEASE!!

So finally managed to get the resistors and get everything setup. When I attached the positive terminal through the resistor to ground, I didn't actually get any change. Still looked like the above graph. I of course said, well lets try the other way. This worked better with the 10k resistor now going from the neutral (negative) terminal to ground, but the signal (when it was supposed to be zero) would float around 0.5 by +- 0.3. Would connecting both to ground fix this? The sensor is NC, so all I really need to see is the delta, but it would be nice if the open case sat at a constant voltage.
Turns out my sensor is not sensitive enough for what I want it to do, so waiting on getting another one sent to me...will have the same setup once it gets here however.
Thanks for all the help so far, has gotten me farther than the hammer approach would have.

  • Counter does not start at zero sometimes

    Hi,
I wonder if someone would be able to give me a little advice, with a counter I am having trouble with.
First, about my application. I am (trying to) control a point on wave switch from labview. The switch turns on when it receives a digital 1 and off again when that signal returns to a 0. While the switch is on it sends out a signal which is constantly 5V but has a zero pulse when it's 'input' waveform passes through zero. Additionally the switch has a hardware setting that allows you to set at which point in the waveform the switch will turn on. (i.e. if you set 0 the switch turns on at the begining of the next voltage cycle after receiving the on signal, if you put 90degrees it waits until 90degrees into the voltage cycle to turn on).  I want to control the number of waveform cycles the switch 'lets through' and the point at which it turns on.
In labview I send a digital 1 to turn the switch on and use a counter to count the number of pulses coming back from the switch, when the number of pulses corresponds to the number of voltage cycles I want I send a 0 to turn the switch off. This works fine when I have the switch hardware setting set to turn on at 0 degrees, but when I increase this angle setting past about 10 degrees the counter which I am using to count the pulses goes a bit awry and seems to start at anything from 6 to 78 or more, causing my application to fail.
Does anyone have an idea why this might be happening. I have looked at the signals coming from the switch on a scope and they look the same in both cases, i.e. the signal does not appear to be more noisy when I increase the angle setting. Is there some setting I should be using in labview when starting counters that I am not aware of (I am new to labview)?
Thanks for any help! (I code post my code if it helps when I get back to the lab tomorrow)

  • Purchase Order Carryforward Does Not Net to Zero

We are working in a year-end test client, copy of Production, in preparation for fiscal year end closing.
For purchase order carryforwards, we find a number of documents which do not net to zero in the sender year. This seems to occur most often for the case where a line item has split account assignments. In these cases, only one account assignment line is carried forward. The other account assignment lines are ignored.
This does not occur for all cases where we have split assignments. We have been unable to determine what is unique about the instances where the carryforward does not work properly.
Our system is R/3, 4.7, support stack 27.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, can you give me any guidance as to how to address it?
    Thank you.

Hello all. Since i didn't get any replies, I don't know if there is any interest in this. However, for future reference, in case any else encounters this issue and searches the forum, here is the answer which we found:
FMJ2 and FMJ3 process the carryforwards and reversals in blocks of 2000 lines. At the end of a block, the PO may be split up across blocks, with one or more assignment items processed in the first block, and the remaining items in the next block.
If you have selected "Block Documents" on the initial screen, when the first item is processed, it locks the PO. When the second block attempts to process the remaining items, there is an error that the PO is locked, and these items are not processed.
The developer is working on a correction to the code to handle this. In the meantime, there are two workarounds:
    1) Uncheck "Block Documents"
    or
    2) After processing, use FMJ3 to reverse the carryforwards which received the error. Use FMJ2 to carry them forward again, in smaller groups which are not large enough to fill up a 2000 line block, and which therefore do not encounter the problem.

  • Clearing document does not balance to zero

    Hello to the community,
maybe someone ever been through this issue before:
We had to regenerate documents (via RFSEPA01 program) for a GL account which was switched to open items incorrectly years ago and for which account balance and drilldown did not tie. After running the program all tables seemed to be aligned as FAGLB03, FAGLL03, FBL3N and F-03 were all in sync.
The issue comes when a clearing document was created for one of these documents and now it is still sitting in BSIS table although it was cleared. The clearing document does not balance out to zero but the user was able to post it through F-03 but cannot reverse it through FBRA we get message:
Balance of the line items is not zero F5136.
The solution would be to delete this record from the BSIS table as account balance and details match but not FAGLL03, FBL3N and F-03. I ran report TFC_COMPARE_VZ for the company code and nothing was found.
    Any idea?
PS- I have been through a bunch of OSS notes and could not find anything as this is not related to payment card neither to + or - signs.
    Kindest regards,
    Gen

  • Rejection of the contract item does not make it zero

    Hi,
I have a contract item linked to a subsequent order item.
When I reject the order item, its value becomes zero.
But when I reject the contract item, its value does not become zero.
    Please help.

I tested your concern in my system and the following is what I see:
Contract with rejected item computes a net value for the item, but it does not get included in the contract header net value.
Order with rejected item computes a net value for the item, but it does not get included in the order header net value.
I suggest checking that the price condition is the same for both documents. Also check if user exit is modifying how the document behaves.
This is based on interpretting the question that contract document and order document behave differently when the line item is rejected.

  • SID table /BIC/SUSITMSTR does not contain a zero record

When checking my cube using RSRV, I get the error message above. I went to SE11 and confirmed that in our production system, the record with a SID = 0 is missing while it does exist in our development system. When I try to activate the master data, I get a message saying that it is already active.
The only way that I know of to fix this is inserting the zero record into the table directly using ABAP like so:
    DATA WA_SUSITMSTR TYPE /BIC/SUSITMSTR.
    WA_SUSITMSTR-SID = 0.
    WA_SUSITMSTR-CHCKFL = 'X'.
    WA_SUSITMSTR-DATAFL = 'X'.
    WA_SUSITMSTR-INCFL = 'X'.
    INSERT INTO /BIC/SUSITMSTR VALUES WA_SUSITMSTR.
    COMMIT WORK.
Does anyone know of a better / safer way to fix this? I do not like messing with SID tables directly unless absolutely necessary. Btw, reloading master data did not fix this issue.
    Thank you,
    Dennis

    Code fixed

I did execute the ABAP code to manually create the zero SID and now things seem to be working fine. RSRV does also come up in green now.

  • Number field does not display trailing zero after decimal

    Hi,
I have a Text Item of type number with size set to 6.
if the database value = 19.10, the
    number field displays 19.1
I want to display the complete 19.10 in the field.
    How do I do it?

SET FORMAT MASK property of text item to 990D00.
If the value is just "10" ie without decimal, displayed will be "10.00".

  • Deletion of plannable values in a cell does not result in zero value

    Hi,
In a planning report when I wanted to set the values in a plannable cell to '0', I just deleted the value in that cell without actually setting a '0' expecting a '0' to appear in that cell after I refresh my report. But instead I get my original value back in the cell. Is this standard behaviour or a bug or do I need to change some setting to get a '0'.
I run my planning reports on the portal.
    Thanks.

  • Why "Acq&Graph Voltage-Int Clk.vi" does not get constant voltage for constant voltage input?

    Dear All
    Labview 7.1/XP/NI6221
I try to use NI 6221 to read analog input by using "Acq&Graph Voltage-Int Clk.vi".
The reading voltage does not constant and not correct value, when I put constant voltage.
How should I solve this problem?  Thank you.
When I use "DAQ Assistant" to read analog input it work well.
    Thongchai

    Thongchai,
As I recall from an earlier discussion exchange with you, you are performing Reference Single Ended (RSE) measurements on channels 0-3, is that correct?  In the example, there is no selection for the input terminal configuration on the DAQmx Create Task -- for M-Series boards on channels 0-8 the default configuration is differential.  If you right click on this input and select "Create Constant", you can choose RSE and it should measure the correct values.  Let me know how that works for you.

  • UAC runs in the background, does not black out screen and prompt user

    This is my layout:
I have a script in the start-up folder that calls a .exe upon first login after the system comes out of sysprep.  In one account (Account A), when that .exe is called, the screen darkness and admin approval is asked for.  If I
choose to do my first time login on the other account (Account B) the exe will get called, but I will just get a flashing shield on the task bar which i have to click to get the black out and the prompt for admin approval.
Why is that happening?  I want the automatic blackout and prompt on
Account B also. Can anybody suggest some security settings i can check?
UAC is all the way up on both accounts, FYI.
    Thanks

Hello, and thank you for replying.
I have restored it, but i backed it up before I did, once i restored it, I restored it from the back up, that i had done previously. I do not have warrenty under this iPhone which is quite fustrating.
Sadly this did not solve my problem; the proximity sensor still does not respond to my face during calls.
I think my only option (last choice) is to restore it completely and start afresh, which is annoying since i'll lose all my game data from Jetpack Joyride .
Thank you for your response though, it was certainly helpful.
