Leadtec v1.07 Nforce driver query

Hi all,
I recently installed the Leadtec v1.07 drivers as I believe they are the newest Nforce drivers around and they are all WHQL'd. However, now in Device Manager under the System Devices section, all the Nvidia items (Memory controllers, AGP to PCI bridge and PCI system management) are listed as using v1.0.0.0 drivers - the original release drivers as far as I'm aware. This seems wrong since the new Leadtec drivers should include updates for these.
I was wondering if anyone with the same drivers installed could let me know what their driver versions are listed as for these devices?
Thanks for any help.

Surprisingly, the very same query is working fine on the same model loaded in 10g database. So, is this a bug in 11g?

I have the below network setup:-
    1. Its a simple network at my father's office at a small town called Ichalkaranji (District - Kolhapur, Maharashtra).
    2. We are using private network range 192.168.1.xxx with two Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition with SP2 licensed copies and 15 local Windows 7 clients who are only using Server A.
    3. The network is having a TP-Link Braodband Router Connected to internet with the IP 192.168.1.1.
    4. Both there Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition with SP2 are running separate SQL Server 2005 Express with Advanced Services, you can treat them as Server A (Problematic Server with IP of 192.168.1.2)
and Server B (this is not having any issue with IP of 192.168.1.3).
    5. Server A is also being used by 6 Remote users from our Kolkata office using DDNS facility through the NO IP client software which installed separately on both the servers. Kolkata remote users
do not use OR access the Server B.
    6. Server B is being used by only 2 Remote users from our Erode office (Under Salem District, Tamilnadu) using DDNS facility through the NO IP client software which installed separately on both
the servers. Erode remote users do not use OR access the Server A.
    7. The front end application which running separately on both the servers have been developed in VB by a local vendor at Ichalkaranji (District - Kolhapur, Maharashtra).
    8. Both Servers are having the same database structure in terms of design and tables format. Only difference is that both the servers are being used separately.
    9. This error OR problem is only related to Server A, where on the clients we get the message "error [hyt00] [microsoft][odbc sql server driver] query timeout expired" every now and then.
    10. We have to frequently reboot the server whenever we get this message on the client machines. May be after rebooting every thing works perfectly for 2 hours / 5 Hours / may be one full day but
the the error will come back for sure.
    11. Current Database back up size on Server A is around 35 GB and take around 1 hour 15 minutes daily to take the back up.
    12. Current Database back up size on Server B is around 3 GB and take around 5 to 10 minutes daily to take the back up.
    13. One thing I have noticed is that when ever we reboot Server A, for some time sqlsrvr.exe file will show memory usage of 200 to 300 MBs but it will start using slowly, what i understand is that
this is the way SQL Server works.
    14. Both the Servers are also running Quick heal Antivirus Server Edition separate licensed copies also.
    15. Server B is also running Tally ERP 9 Licenses copy which is being used locally by 15 users of Ichalkaranji (District - Kolhapur, Maharashtra) same users
Can any one help to resolve this issue. Any help will be highly appreciated.

The error message "query timeout expired" occurs, because by default many APIs, including ODBC only waits for 30 seconds for SQL Server to send any output. If no data has been seen for this period of time, they tell SQL Server to cancel execution
and return this error to the caller.
This timeout could be seen as a token that the query is taking too long time to execute and this needs to be fixed. But it can also be a pain in the rear parts, if you are content with a report taking five minutes, because you only run it once a day.
The simplest way to get rid of the error is to set the timeout to zero, which means "wait forever". This is something your vendor would have to do. This may, however, not resolve the problem, as the users may just find that the application is hanging.
To wit, there are two reasons why the query takes more than 30 seconds to complete. One is that there is simply that much work to do. This can be reduced by adding indexes or by doing other tuning, if the execution time is not acceptable. The other possibility
is blocking. That is, there is a process blocking this query from completing. This is much more likely to require attention.
It is not clear to me, whether the vendor has developed the database part as well. In this case, you should probably call the vendor's support desk to have them to sort this out.
Finally, I am little puzzled. You say that you are using Express Edition, but one of the databases is 35 GB in size. 35 GB is far above the limit for Express Edition.

  • Event 123 - The DSM service was delayed by nn seconds for a driver query/download/install on device then screen freezes

The reader's digest version of the saga is I received a Dell Vostro 460 with a wiped disk. The PC emitted beep code indicating PSU or RAM issue when turned on.  After resolving the marginal power supply with a new replacement, I installed Windows 7
but as soon as I would launch IE the system would freeze.  All of the BIOS & device drivers are current.  I tried upgrading to Windows 8 but kept getting the black screen right after the install process finished installing the devices. I had
to resort to a clean install.  Having successfully install Windows 8.1 I have been able to a get to the desktop, however every time I launched IE my system freezes in the same way as with Windows 7.  I installed a different browser and used that
to research the event log errors.  As the system freezes, I see warning log entries with event id 123 entries:
Event 123 - The DSM service was delayed by 125 seconds for a driver query/download/install on device  'ACPI\GENUINEINTEL_-_INTEL64_FAMILY_6_MODEL_42_-_________INTEL(R)_CORE(TM)_I7-2600_CPU_@_3.40GHZ\_8'

There are more but these warnings are stacked in groups of two or three then the error & critical entries indicating I did a hard reboot.
When I use Firefox browser to open several tabs everything is fine until I stream audio/video then the same freeze screen happens and i have to reboot. Anything you can offer will be very much appreciated.

    Hi,
'PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0423 is a graphic card driver from the vendor’s official webpage.
Besides as you mentioned in the post, it happened when you launch Internet Explorer, there is an accelerated  Graphics item in the Internet Explorer, the settings should be changed, please follow this way:
Go to the control panel, then select the Internet Option, go to advance, just like the screenshot below:
select the checkbox if it is empty, anyhow make it different from the previous settings, then restart your computer to see the result.

  • Kernel forcedeth and intel audio or nforce driver modules?

I recently discovered Nvidia makes nforce driver modules thanks to the recent packages listed on the Arch website. I have long since been using the Vanilla kernel drivers built in (which are reversed engineered or similar chipsets) without any problems.
My question is, are there any reasons I should switch over to Nvidia modules other than the fact that they are native to the manufactuer (performance, stability gains etc.)? I've noticed some posts have touched on this issue but they don't explain anything other than what looks like users preference.
    Thanks for any info,

Before the forcedeth module was available, I would always go here for help:
    http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=29
One version, some people were having problems with the forcedeth module, but that was long ago.  I also remember some bandwith tests, but I have not been to the site in ages.
I quickly looked around and it appears nvidia is contributiong to the forcedeth module anyway.  I don't know about the sound.

    Spray,
Just by the very nature of a CD, it makes it useless.
The Hardware Manufacturer gets the Drivers from the Chipset Manufacturer and then edits them to add their logo etc. Then they put the Drivers on a CD. Then they package it with the hardware. Then it is sent to a distributer where they warehouse it until it is sent to a reseller. Then finally the reseller has it in the shelf until you come in and buy it.
Those Drivers are anywhere from 6 month to 1 year or more old.
As I look at it, even the software on the Manufacturer's website is out of date.
If you want Drivers, you go right to the Chipset Manufacturer.
    Take Care,
    Richard
P.S. Just remember, just because a piece of Hardware or Software is new to you, it does not mean it is New! It could have been on the shelf for years.

    Bye ...

I had to manually install the drivers on my existing xp installation.  aside from that I have not gotton the black screen playing aaops with surround turned on which is when it was occuring.  The installer did however extract the drivers to the c drive nicely.  On a seperate partition and a clean install of xp the drivers did successfully install the agp driver but I had to manually install the soundstorm, memory, sound, and network.  For anyone wondering how to install the soundstorm drivers manually I did mine by goijng to the directory where the files for the audio utilities were extracted finding the inf file right clicking and selecting install.  I noticed one thing that might be a problem and that was the part where the microsoft sound files get installed didn't come up.  however the soundstorm control panel and tray icon both function normally.  On the existing XP installation I first removed all of items for nforce which were in the add remove programs control panel and then updating the drivers listed in the device manager again when  I installed the sound drivers and utility the microsoft installer did not come up either, but the tray icon and control panel seem to work finem

  • Hung queries, and Oracle thin driver query timeout implementation

We are seeing occasional instances of stuck threads, where the code is in Oracle thin XA driver code waiting for a socket read for a response from the database. Usually only one thread at a time. The connection never terminates and we have to shut down WebLogic to clear it. The DBAs tell us that all connections to the 11g RAC cluster members from our hosts are idle, with no hung or long-running transactions.
This happens every few days across two WebLogic 10.3.5 clustered instances in our QA environment, usually not the same time on two servers (one had four incidents, the other had only one, in the last 15 or so days). Sometimes it has resulted in a hung server, as the driver is holding a lock that blocks other threads (today we had numerous threads block in a TX rollback).
I'm guessing our WebLogic instance somehow is not getting the connection close from the remote host. BTW, there is no firewall between us and the DB. I have not got any strong suspect for the cause (although we are running Linux on a VMWare 4.0 VM, which always worries me).
Ordinarily I'd either ask the application to set a query timeout, or set the query timeout parameter for the connection pools as a workaround (we are using a MultiDatasource), so the transaction would at least abort and the application can handle it. However, while the Oracle driver does support java.sql.Statement.setQueryTimeout(), some brief investigation on my part leads me to believe the timeout is implemented on the server side and not the client side - so that if it is indeed the case that WebLogic does not see the close on the connection, it also would never see the timeout.
    Two questions:
    1. Is my suspicion about server-side implementation of timeout for Oracle 11g correct?
    2. If so, is there some property I can set for the driver that will implement a socket timeout? Is this "safe"?
    Thanks for any help!
[ Oracle WebLogic 10.3.5, HotSpot 64 bit JVM 1.6.0_29 on RHEL 5.6 on VMWare; Oracle Thin XA driver bundled with WebLogic; Oracle RAC 11g (three-node cluster)]

    Thanks, Joe.
My investigations were heading in this direction (e.g., http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/java.111/b31224/apxtblsh.htm#CHDBBDDA). However, for WebLogic, is it as simple as adding the following property in the Datasource Connection properties edit box in the WebLogic console?
    oracle.net.READ_TIMEOUT=300000
or do I have to edit the connection URL?
I've tried this, and the Datasource restarts OK after the change, but I have no way right now to check whether it actually "works".
(we have some long-running queries; five minutes seems to be a "safe" limita for now)

  • NForce Driver Installation Procedure

What are the official steps to installing new nForce drivers?  I have read everything from install over the existing drivers to uninstall the existing drivers --> boot into safe mode --> Uninstall the NVidia Video drivers --> Use Drive Cleaner to wipe everything out (nForce and ForceWare related) --> boot into normal mode and install new nForce drivers --> reboot and install new ForceWare (video) drivers.
Which way is correct or is there another 'preferred' way?
    Thanks gang,
    Jopopsy

There really shouldn't be any need to uninstall drivers before updating them.
The whole idea of an install is that it should take care of this for you. I generally just run the setup and let it run through, followed by a reboot, and have never had any problems. Why make things more difficult for yourself?

  • Nvidia nforce driver Vs Standard Kernel driver modules

Has anyone compared the drivers for nforce chips?
im currently using the in-kernel drivers and am not having in trouble.. with the exception of the crappy onboard sound chip that doesnt have a hardware mixer..
im wondering if switching to the nforce drivers might help with the sound.. or provide any benefits at all, be it speed / stability / etc.

I had problems with the kernel audio driver giving me static filled output, plus the software-only mixing problem. Word is that nvidia won't share enough of their hardware secrets with the ALSA devs to allow proper hardware mixing. I also never was able to pin down the static problem but it did not occur with the nvidia OSS modules, so I must assume it was a problem with the ALSA driver. I finally switched to a Via chipset because I needed ALSA and had a spare Via KT880 sitting around. Everything works greats on this board with included ALSA modules, including hardware mixing.

  • Mac Pro, Creative Suites and extra hard drive query

I am seriously looking at purchasing a 15" Mac Pro this year - I know what specs I want, but I am curious as to what Mac users do re the extra hard drives? I am used to having a second hard drive on my PC for scratch discs for the Creative Suites including CS4. What do Mac users use for extra scratch discs? Do you use a removable drive? Apple tells me that I can't have any second hard drive in the Mac Pro or iMac, hence my query. (I will also be attaching my Wacom Cintiq 21UX to it as well.) Thank you.

Thank you Steve - however I use the scratch disc in both Illustrator and Photoshop and Premiere, hence it becomes a more general question.
In moving to a Mac I am trying to understand whether the drives work differently, or can you partition the main drive on a Mac and use those partitions for scratch discs?

  • NForce driver install problem

I downloaded the nForce XP 2.45 drivers. When I double click on setup, the nVidia logo pops up with the progress bar reading "NVIDIA nForce Drivers Setup is preparing the InstallShield Wizard, which will guide you through the rest of the setup process. Please wait." When the blue bar goes to the right and finishes, it just stops. The nVidia logo and the progress bar disappear and nothing else happens. No install, nothing. Any insight as to how this can be fixed will be greatly appreciated. Here are the specs of my computer:
    AMD Athlon XP 1700+
    MSI K7N2 Motherboard
    Envision 910e 19" Color Monitor
    Windows XP Professional Edition
    128 MB DDR GeForce4 Ti4200 Video Card
    1024 MB PC2100 DDR SDRAM
40 GB 7200 RPM Western Digital HD
    Lite-On 16X DVD ROM
    Lite-On 24X10X40X CD-RW Drive
    VIA AC'97 Audio Card
    Teac 1.44MB Floppy Drive
    NVIDIA nForce MCP Networking Adapter
Toshiba Cable Modem with AT&T Broadband Internet

Thanks for your responses. You brought some things to my attention that I forgot to include in my original post. 1) This is not a new build. I just want to update my drivers 2) I am reluctant to delete my old drivers for fear that I might not be able to reinstall them. And now, the driver CD that came with the motherboard is experiencing the same problem. 3) Restarting the computer did not help. I don't think the file is corrupt since now I am experiencing the same problem with the CD. Are there any programs/services/etc. that could cause this problem if disabled? And the Detonator drivers install fine. I'm really stumped.
