Leave Taken on weekly off through ESS
Hi experts.
I have an issue related to ESS. In SAP, when an employee applies for a leave on weekly off, it shows an error and doesnt allow to take leave. But, when he applies for leave in ESS, it just gives a warning message, but allows to apply for a leave. How to get a warning message, so tha he cant apply for leave on sunday/weekly off. Any help

Hi Kumar,
I think all time configuration we need to in R/3 side.
Go to SPRO > Time management > Time data recording and administration > Absences > Define absence types > select your absence type > go to overview > 1st day is day off and last day is day off should be E (Error) not W (warning).
Then in counting rule uncheck Saturaday a7 Sunday.

Hi All
I have a leave type 'Hourly Leave' in hours. I want to find out the number of hours an employees has taken this leave in a week. I don't have OTL installed so dont have a holiday calender. I dont want to consider leaves other than weekly off.
Is it possible to find out this using Fast Formula and if yes then what is the high level definition of this formula?

On the original question. Are you looking to report on this information or are you looking to prepopulate the 'duration' field in the Leave of Absence screen.
If you are looking to report on it you could do this just through SQL and I'm trying to understand why you need a formula.
Maybe we can take a step back and understand your business requirement and then advise on the best way to approach using the tools at your disposal. -
Employee is trying to apply leave through ESS
When an employee is trying to apply leave through ESS he is getting a error message. below is the error " employee 00000000 has no valid organization assignment for 27.08.2010". we have checked all the configurations in SAP back end.
Navigate to t.code HRUSER and see the assignment.
This should resolve the issue.

Error in Form16 taken through ESS.
Experts,
While accessing Form16 through ESS, system shows an error. The error key is as follows:
Screen output without connection to user. , error key: RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE
I check the Java connections and its working fine and there is no problem with the display of salary statement in ESS.

can anybody help me configuring for a weekly off that can be taken by the employee when ever he wants to take. since there is no fixed weekly off. working days are 6 days for the workers and can take a weekly off any day during a week.

I understand that you have to write custom rule for this.
You could make all 7 days working days.
You could define a new absence type and try defining this quota 1 leave per week.And every Monday it should set to zero...
Sothing in this direction hopefully should work.I am sure other experts will add some value...

ALV Report to display the status of the requests raised through ESS

We have to develop a ALV report to display the status of the requests raised through ESS
for Leave, Travel & Event Management, Travel and Appraisal workflows.
ESS Travel, ESS TEM, ESS Apraisal workflows are associted with SAP Business Objects.
we are using the function module SWI_WORKITEMS_OF_OBJTYPE_GET to get
the top level work item id's by passing the object type like PDRELA_025, BUS2089.
By using SWP_WORKFLOW_LOG_READ function we are getting the workflow log
by passing top level work item id's as imort parameter.
The report output should have the following fields
Initiator, Initiator Personal No, Request Type( Leave, Travel etc.. )
Date of application of the request, Status ( Approved by RM, Rejected etc )
Name of the Approver, Approved / Rejected Date.
The logic should be work for all the above ESS workflows and should be generalized.
Can any one please let me know the procedure to get the required information from the workflow log.
It would be great if any one suggest on the same how to proceed further to get the information as mentioned above.

We are doing Negative Time Management where we record only deviations
But customer has third party time machine which required to be integrated with SAP system
As I know, from the time recording terminal, i should map SAP number to all employees and then get a text mail the details with employee attendance for the respective dates and times. Then, have to create a ABAP report which will read the text file and update clock in/out with date into SAP system. After this we can check employee attendance infotype 2011.
But, Before going for above, time administrator wants to set IT0007 as 7- time evaluation without payroll integration, then maintain data in IT0050 & IT2011
Then run Time Evaluation then the out put will be according to the data maintained in IT 2011. Now the requirement is, time administrator wants to change eg. the day is suppose to be working day for any employee but based on adjustments that day became weekly off, another employee suppose to work but again due to some adjustments that day became weekly off, so how this time administrator can change this and where. This is like, time administrator need to see the total work schedule for an employee and needs to change whichever data and whenever or after time evaluation, he could see the total work schedule as desired.
And also, time administrator wants to change schedule manually for any of the employee during that particular period and view the same.
Please note that, ESS/MSS haven't implemented yet.

I have created a workschedule on wednesday In a year there can be weekly off 5 or 6 times on Saturday or Sunday So in that case there is no need to create three workschedules we can create one workschedule and change the days Again we need to regenerate the workschedules inorder to take 'off's" in to account. that is what iam thinkinng at the moment. Yes there is no need to do anything in IT 007 If there is any change in Shift in that Case User has to change workschedule in IT 007.
If there is weekly off he can select the dates on which day it is falling and generate the workschedule.
for changing shifts he should change work schedule in IT 007
Is this is right approach please throw some light on this
My client requirement was Sometimes there can be weekly off in the company It can be either wednesday off or saturday off or
unday off or it can be any day.

I have a Requirement as mentioned below
Sunday is weekly Off , Monday is Working Day , Tuesday is Holiday .
If a Employee takes Leave on Monday then it has to deduct 2 days from the quota .
PLS let me know how to configure this in a Counting Rule in details .

Say for example. As per workschedule 22nd april 2011(Sunday) is weekly off. Company can declare 22nd as normal working day and 24th (Tuesday) as weekly off.
What kind of changes to be in system to meet this requirement.

Create an infotype for weekly offs
Dear all,
our client has not implemented time management , they have a requirement that some employees do not have a weekly off as others have they work on weekly offs and have weekly offs on other days , simple solution could be to generate another workschedule for those employee , but the work schedule were configured in such a way tht it would take a whole lot of a time to do the configuration. So i just want to create an infotype in which we can mailtain that which person has weekly off on which day , so as only for reporting purpose.
i know the process of defining infotype but which fields should i define.

The immediate solution that flashes in my mind is create an absence type in IT2001 (eg. weekly off).
The employee then can apply for weekly off absence type through portal for the days that they want to take off.
If you dont have portal configured then u can update the input manually through backend in IT2001 for those employees.

in ESS, ITS version, Portal 6.0, SAP 4.6c ... For leave workflow, can we add the recent leaves taken by the employee? So that when the leave approval / leader received it he/she will be aware about these leaves before approving / rejecting it? lets say last 5 leaves as example ..

Populating the Weekly Off's and Loss of Pay days in Remuneration Statement
Hi Experts:
I'm trying to Populate the Following information on the Remuneration Statement for the Payroll Period:
1. Total Calender days.(used TKSOLL from WPBP)
2. Total Actual Working days (used ADIVI)
3. Total Weekly Off's
4. Employee Worked days
5. Loss of Pay days. ( I need AAUxx here)
6. Holidays
The first two fields i could able to populate, Please help me how to populate the rest of the fields.
I'm using SAP standard remuneration statement and it has only few tables from which we have to pick the single fields. Can we assign any more tables for the Single fields.

Error while updating bank details through ESS
Hi All,
While updating banks details through ESS, " change in the payroll past not possible".
I have checked IT0003 and noticed that accounted to 31.08.2014.
I assume this might be causing the error. Could you please advice with your expertise.Let me explain how it happens and why we don't allow change of bank records in past 1959820 - ESS: Wrong delimit of TC3 records For other scenarios where ESS behavior is similar to PA30 :

When the infotype 0009 is modified, the system is regrouping data for the infotypes which are checked releavnt according to the table T582G. Retroactivity is checked via V_T582A In view V_T582A for infotype 0009 you will see, I guess, that the field 'Past entry all.' is maintained with an 'E'. This means that it is not allowed to maintain any infotype 0009 record for the payroll past. The important day for this check is the last day of the last accounted period. Retroactive change of infotype 0009 is not permitted as the bank transfer is already done. This is the reason why this infotype can not be changed retroactively. For bank records end user must not be allowed to maintain past date records and should not be allowed to change any other detail of record when payroll for that period is already run. for e.g. if current date is 26/11/2013. Then end user must not be allowed to edit other bank record effective from 25/11/2013. We should not allow end user to edit record effective from 27/11/2013 because payroll is already run for that period. If user is allowed to change then data maintained in infotype 9 and information send to payroll may be different. You can use BAdi HRXSS_PER_BEGDA,to default the next payroll period -
