LELA Not Detecting an Internet Connection, yet is connected?

I use a WRT54GS wireless router, and recently it's been going slow. I went to go restart the router as we had to so many times before, and realized that the internet was not connected(or at least, that's what it said). So I figured, oh, that's why it's not working! After going through the restart process 3 times, I still couldn't connect. I looked down at my taskbar and it said that I had an internet connection. So I clicked on Internet Explorer and to my surprise I was indeed connected to the internet.
So now, I sit here typing this, on the computer which is supposed to have no internet, and cannot send an internet connection to any of my other wireless devices because LELA says I have none. I've tried reseting the modem and all that, but to no avail. Any help as to why this is?

Thank you very much jscell and Dr. Clap
No, because that is a conceptual rather than a realconcept<
I tend to disagree somewhat it is a conceptual as
well as a very real concept. I am using this concept
and it works(still in the trial phase though). The
only problem is the pop-up Windows dialog box.Yes but you computer doesn't connect to the "internet". It connects to another computer. That is all it can do because that is how IP works (tunneled or not.)

If you want to monitor traffic via java then youwould have to use JNI.<
Thanks for this. Ill have a look at this. A piece of
code to get me started on this would be appreciated.I am not sure it exists. But if you want you can look at http://netresearch.ics.uci.edu/kfujii/jpcap/doc/index.html
>
And you should be able to configure it so that itdoesn't ask you, but just automatically makes the
connection. How?<
Yes Dr. Clap, you may be right. I was hoping there was
somehow a way out without fiddling around with the
property settings. I am sure there is, but not in java. So doing it in java would require JNI (and a lot of digging to figure out how to do it using the windows C API.)

adobe creative cloud desktop is not detecting my internet connection?

i connected with the adobe people through 'contact an agent'.
very helpful, they remote managed my desktop to fix the issue.
apparently something to do with permissions not activated for adobe, not sure how and why this happens though, or why it was fine earlier and suddenly stoppped.
they insisted it was to do with being on a wifi connection but that's not possible because i have my laptop right next to my desktop and that was working fine.
it took about four hours to fix though, so be patient!

  • I have downloaded itunes, however everytime I open it up deos not detect my internet connection even though it is running?

I have downloaded itunes, however everytime I open it up deos not detect my internet connection even though it is running.  I can goto other sites when I open up explorer, but itunes just will not connect.  Could someone assist?  I have windows 7.

Set it up with SMB compliant names.. that means, short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
Set a different name for 2.4ghz and 5ghz..
Set security to WPA2 personal with pure alphanumeric password.. 10-20 characters is usually plenty.
Set wireless channel for 2.4ghz to manual and try channels 11, 6, 1 in that order.

  • Cannot get Lela to recognize my internet connection

I have tried and tried and tried to get Lela to recognize my internet  connection. I am connected to the internet through the WRT54G right now, but the easylink advisor will not "fix" the internet connection in my network. It just keeps telling me to make sure my cables are connected - they are, it tells me to plug and unplug my modem and router (done this at least 20 times). I'm guessing there is some setting on my computer that needs to change, but I have'nt a clue what it could be unless Lela tells me what needs changed. Like I stated I am typing this and have an internet connection right now. When I try to get through to support from easylink advisor it goes to a "the website cannot be found" site. Could someone help me I am about worn out with this issue?

Go to add/remove programs and remove LELA from your system.  It is not needed for anything.

  • How can I install Firefox on a server that does not have an internet connection?

I run Firefox on a server to display graphs for a program. I was able to save, upload and install Firefox version 21 on my server because it used the executable installation program. Versions 22 and 23 use a stub program that goes to the internet and installs the program. My server does not have an internet connection, so the stub program does not work. Can I get a copy of the executable program that installs the program without having an internet connection?

hello pkautzman, the full install packets that are capable of an offline installation are available at https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/.

  • Sony Vaio not recognising Wifi/Internet connections since System Refresh ... Help!

I'm using Windows 8.1 on a Sony Vaio SVE1512C6EW.  It was running really slow, so I did a System Refresh and deleted a few programmes. Now it is not recognising Wifi/Internet connections and Audio doesn't work.  I don't know if I deleted the driver or it was the refresh.  Please help!

    Hi nickisheps,
Thank you for visiting Sony Community!
Here in Sony Support USA for Vaio, we do not recommend System Refresh right away since your issue was slow performance. You could uninstall programs and check for viruses/malicious programs first, running Vaio or Windows update, etc. You are right about drivers. There is a possibility that some drivers and software are not properly installed or was deleted after the refresh. You may try this first: Go to Device manger -> Network adapter -> select the name of the adapter -> right click and select Uninstall (DO NOT DELETE). Restart the laptop. The default driver will be reinstalled. You may do the same process in Audio, just select Sound, video and game controllers. Check again if you the will connect to the internet.
If none of these work then you need to visit Sony's website (based on your location or from where you purchased the unit) and download the needed drivers.
Since your Vaio SVE1512C6EW is not a U.S. model and we have limited information about your unit and we do not have the drivers and software that support your computer. We kindly recommend visiting our Sony Global Web site for information on contacting the Sony Support Center in your region at http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/Support/.
    Hope these help.
    Best regards,
    Vincent

  • Does not see my internet connection

I have downloaded the trial of XI but still I cannot sign in to complete the downloaded
the installer does not see my internet connection
I have blocked the firewall and antivirus but still cannot sign in
it says my clock is not correct?

The path to this file on my Windows 8.1 computer is:
    C:\Users\Steve\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
    where my username is Steve.
Windows 7 will have the same sort of path.  Windows XP won't.
AppData is a hidden system folder so it may be invisible in Explorer.  Just go ahead and type in AppData in the Explorer address bar after you've clicked into your user folder and it should work.

  • Turbotax does not recognize my internet connection

I installed Turbotax 2010 from a CD and when I try to update it I get the following message: Error 42016: Unknown error
Further messages indicate that The Turbotax program does not recognize my internet connection. I do no t have this problem with other programs. Turbotax tells me it is a Comcast problem.
Comcast tells me my internet connection is fine.
    I am at a loss.

I might have found a solution, that works for me with windows XP. First restart the computer and don't start up itunes. Open Norton Internet Security and click on Status and Settings. Then click on personal firewall and then click on Configure, and click on the Programs tab. Scroll through the list of programs until you have goten to Apple itunes. Change the interntet Access to Permit All. Once you have saved these settings start up itunes. That worked for me. Please tell me if this helps anyone.

  • TS1398 wi-fi network not providing an internet connection

wi-fi network not providing an internet connection
I have done everything there is to do. Reset my netgear reset password etc and still no connection.  I use to have connection but got a new I pad and can not set it up.

You may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPad a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the "i" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address shown starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Do not reset your router. Next, reset network settings on your iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

  • Thinkpad Edge S430 - Windows does not detect external display connected via HDMI

On a Thinkpad S430 with HD4000 integrated graphics, an external display connected via a HDMI cable is not detected at all when using Windows. The system is fully updated as of the time of posting this message, both via the Lenovo Update tool as well as Windows update.
The Intel driver version is 8.15.10.2696. It appears that this is the latest version, since it does not offer an update when I try to auto-update it via Device Manager.
NB: I am running Ubuntu 12.04 with kernel 3.4.0 on the same machine, and the external display works perfectly fine with this software configuration.
Hence I think that it's very likely that this is a Windows-specific driver issue.
Would Lenovo happen to have a driver update in the works? Alternatively, I will be thankful for any suggestions about possible resolution of this problem.

  • Applescript to detect network/internet connection?

I created a simple app using Applecsript to mount my iDisk volume on startup.
    mount volume "https://idisk.me.com/username"
Works a treat and I use it on my iMac and Alu MacBook. However, there will always be a situation where I'm connected to a network, but not the internet - EG: My universities Wireless network, where I have to goto the student login page before internet access outside of the university system is granted.
So for the Applescript on my MacBook I want it to detect if it has an internet connection. I was thinking possibly sending a Ping to the idisk location. Anyone have any idea how to do this?
    Thanks
    ~Ben

Oh yes I am aware of the network icon rather than the iDisk icon. But I did it this way for security reasons.
If I had my username and password in the script then anyone who got hold of the script could just double click it and have full access to my iDisk. This way, the computer its running on must be connected to the corresponding MobileMe account for that iDisk.
I'm also not too fussed about the icon, I set a custom one (copy paste into the get info box) which thankfully remains persistant across all machines that connect to match the rest of the pack I downloaded. http://cavemanmac.deviantart.com/art/OLED-Drives-144076760?q=&qo= (if you're curious)
I also had no idea that Applescript automatically detected errors when doing a shell script. So on 100% packet loss it ended the script then and there.
    Thanks
    Works a treat

  • Detecting an internet connection

How can i detect whether an internet connection is active?

I am using JDK 1.3.1. This does not seem to be available. Any other ideas?

  • How to detect an Internet connection?

I want to create an application which calculate the time of a Internet connection but I don't know how to detect it! Help me, thanks.

Not surprising since there is no such thing.
Connections only go from computer to computer. When you send email your computer connects to a computer. And it sends the email to it.
When you try to connect to www.yahoo.com your computer connects to a computer. It gets an address. Then it tries to connect to that address.
And every time I said 'connect' about there are very likely other "computers" involved in the transaction.
And if any of those devices fail then you won't connect.
Notice in the above that there is no "internet". There are just computers and connections.
So now that you know what is happening you will now know how to code your own solution.
Or you can provide more detail as to exactly what you are trying to determine so that a more specific answer can be given.
