LIC-CMBE-ESS missing in GPL

Hello,
we are missing the LIC-CMBE-ESS in the GPL,
Is there any reason for that or do anybody know why this item is not in there?

Integrated ESS: Missing PZM3

Hi,
in the moment we are using ESS with SAP Enterprise (4.7).
Now we are doing the Upgrade to ERP2005.
We decided to use the Integrated ITS. I heard the PZM3 will not run on ERP2005.
Do we really programme this application which simulates the PZM3 on our own? Or there is already a solution from SAP or someone else?

We have several customers who has outsourced their HR Processes to us. We maintain their ESS on our SAP Servers.
If we change to ERP2005 the problem is, that our customers have their own Portal which is often no SAP portal. The Portal is a very strategic IT part of our customers, so we have no access to the Portal. On the other hand our customers has no HR know-how to maintain the ESS om their own.
We heard about the internal ESS. May be this could be the solution in our situation. Where can we get more information about the internal ESS. Who has tested this software already.

Thomas you are right about PZM3 usage... SP is encouraging to move to SAP portal to use these solutions.. so you will not be able to use standalone ESS.. unless you decide to call ESS services directly on the Portal(one you are using).
You can build your own menu(simulating PZM3 logic) and give links to these individual services.. but you have to take care of Single sign on.
There are some limitations in Integrated ITS, please refer note 852235.

ESS missing roles

Hi,
I have deployed the following packages:
- ESS14_0-10002965.sca
- PCUIGP014_0-20000568.sca
- MSS14_0-10002964.sca
I´ve deployed them with SDM with no problems.
After the deployment I went to the portal and starting looking for the roles and they are not there so I went to webdynpro console to see if the jco were there to be created and they were there and the packages too.
If I log into the SDM i can find in the repository the packages and it do not let me install it again because it shows that i have it already installed.
Any idea about this? How do I find the XSS roles?

While i´m waiting the docs, i´ll try the steps you described.
But i think this is not the problem because the roles there i´m talking about is the portal roles and one doc that i have says to me that after i deploy with SDM i should be able to see the files in the portal content -> Content Provided by SAP -> End user, and there is no package there only "Standard Portal Users".
Any idea?

So you are saying both "R-UNIFIED-CMBE5K" and "L-CM-DL-100=" part codes are valid if we have to order addon licenses for Business Edition server running call manager version 7.1.2 ?
I am confirming this beacuse my local Cisco SE told me that "L-CM-DL-100=" part code will not work and aksed us to go with other one.
Can you also clarify how the licenses work in the backend for BE servers, I beleive it should be same as call manager where you associate license mac with the file and the uploaded license gets converted into DLUs for phones to use?
I am really confused here, please help.

In ESS portal employee photo is missing.
Config ESS in R3 system
1.Table T77S0 ADMIN PHOTO HRICOLFOTO.
2.Maitain ESS Setting, Display Employee photograph is flagged.
under change who who data, both option is flagged.
Please guide me ,i'm i missing any configuration.

Normally there might be many reasons for pics not getting displayed, as u have said that the photo is already visible in R/3 then u need to check the following things
1) check S_WFAR_OBJ authorization object has been maintained or not.
2) Access T-code PZUSWHO & check whether the following settings are maintained or not.

SDK is missing GPL component

I am using Flash Builder 4.7 and today I upgraded to the AIR 3.6 SDK which I got from here:

And then replaced the existing AIR 3.5 SDK by following the instructions here:

My application (which is almost complete) runs fine in the AIR simulator but when I try to run it in debug mode on my iPhone I get this error:
Error occurred while packaging the application:
SDK is missing GPL component /Applications/Adobe Flash Builder 4.7/eclipse/plugins/com.adobe.flash.compiler_4.7.0.349722/AIRSDK/lib/ aot/bin/as/as-arm
What am I missing? I have worked hard core on this app over the last couple months and have installed and ran it many many times.

I solved my own issue and it was caused by the confusing instructions here:

Firstly the link says overlay yet the instructions are for "update" which is consistent with the instructions because no overlay occurs. The user is instructed to delete all the contents in AIRSDK directory and run a command line that unpacks the new files in place. Then there are instructions to copy the contents of the AOT from the old folder over. This was where I made my mistake. I simply replaced this directory which replaced the contents and suddenly some key files were missing.
To fix this, I reinstalled the old AIRSDK directory and ran the command line which OVERLAID the new SDK files over the old ones which replaces the necessary files with upgraded ones and leaves the rest intact. Now my project compiles without error.
Adobe, this is a problem. I realize that "overlaying" in this manner is not clean and can leave garbage behind, but your instructions on this page are problematic. Can you please devise a cleaner, easier and less problematic way of updating the SDK that does not require the command line?

New ESS config - Homepage Framework (area group, etc) seems to be missing

Hi,
I am installing the new ESS 1.0 for ECC6 (ERP5).
I succsessfully imported with SDM he new:
ESS BP
PCUI_GP
I then created all systems in the portal and all JCo's.
When I try and open Employee Self-Service (any pages) in the Portal I get the following error:
Area group SAPDEFAULTESSERP2005 does not exist._
It seems like the Homepage Framework has not been imported for some reason as there are no default area groups or anything else in homepage framework.
Have I missed something? Is there something else I also had to import?

it seems that you are trying to use an ERP2005 ESS package with an
ERP2004 backendsystem. Unfortuanetly this is not working.
You can use
ERP2004 - ECC5 - NW2004 - ESS 100 - ESS BP ERP2004
or
ERP2005 - ECC6 - NW2004s - ESS 600 - ESS1.0 BP ERP2005
However it should be possible to connect the ESS 100 application which
are running on a NW2004 to an EP7.

IOS Simulator build: SDK is missing GPL component X:\sdk_path\lib\aot/bin/as/as-386.exe

Trying to build a simulator build with air 16 or 17 and iPhoneSimulator8.2.sdk I get the following error:
SDK is missing GPL component X:\sdk_path\lib\aot/bin/as/as-386.exe
igmake: *** [../bin/project.ipa] Error 16
igmake: Leaving directory `X:/project/'
I've checked various sdk versions. Some of them have an "as-386" file, but never a "as-386.exe" file. I tried just renaming the file (hoping for the best) but that results in this error:
ld: in `)Ωtm♣Z, unsupported address encoding (08) of personality function in CIE
for architecture i386
Compilation failed while executing : ld64
igmake: *** [../bin/project.ipa] Error 12
Any help would be appreciated!

In fact the Release notes that you point to state:
Platform SDK support for iOS on Windows
Now, a developer can copy the iOS SDK folder on a Windows® machine and use the platformsdk option of adt on Windows® too.
adt –package –target (ipa-app-store|ipa-ad-hoc|ipa-debug|ipa-debug-interpreter|ipa-test|ipa-test-interpreter) -platformsdk
This feature is not yet available in Flash Builder. The SDK should be copied properly, i.e. the symbolic links in the iOS SDK should be converted to actual files on Windows® , else, packaging will fail.

Standard ESS components missing!!!

Hi Experts,
I am working on ESS components in WD ABAP. But there is a problem the standard ESS componets for travel and expense which strats with prefix FITE are missing in Sandbox system and production system. But these components are available in development system. What could be the reason for it and the preffered solution in this case. Please help.

Make sure the FITE* and FITV* services are activated in transaction "SICF" under the path: default_host --> sap --> bc --> webdynpro --> sap.

SAP ESS 600 Web Dynpros Missing After Install

Hi,
We are running EP 7.0 SP11 on a linux platform. We deployed the following
components in the given order-
SAP PCUI_GP 600
IS-HER 600
SAP ASR 600
SAP PSS 600
SAP MSS 600
Each of the above components was at Support Package 08.
In Content Administraton -> Web Dynpros -> sap.com, we expected to find web dynpros
that start with "sap.com/ess~" but found none.
Any ideas what is going on?

Even though note 761266 is primary for ERP 2004, we were able to extract the necessary information to apply to our ERP 2005 system. After we deployed SAPESS08_0-20000512.SCA, the missing ess web dynpros show up in the Portal. Thank you very much for your help.
However, I do have one additional question. We noticed that the base ESS Business Package (BPERP5ESS08_0-10003288.sca) downloaded from SDN is only about 3MB and the SAP ESS 600 patch (SAPESS08_0-20000512.SCA) is about 270MB. Are these two different components of the "ESS"? This is very different from MSS.

ESS - NWBC - Benefits Service Missing

Hi Experts,
We are on ECC 6.0, EHP 6. We are using NWBC for ESS/MSS.
We have assigned standard SAP roles for ESS.
We don't see Benefits Service under Benefits and Payment. We do have assigned required roles for Canada.
Any idea, what is missing on the role side?

Also make sure you're using the correct role. SAP_EMPLOYEE_XX_ESS_WDA_3 is delivered with EHP6 and it includes the required menu setup. We're in the U.S. and it included country grouping 10 and 99 versions of the new Benefit services for us.
Also, the HRESS_A_BENEFITS_ENROLLMENT web dynpro application is driven based on system configuration and benefit adjustment reasons. For example, Open Enrollment is only available in the ESS menu if the Open Enrollment period is open in the Benefit IMG configuration. Otherwise it's not available in menu when an employee logs in.

ESS - Create Expense Report Link is missing for few users

We are on ECC 6.0 Ehp 3 with EP 7.0.
We are using the ESS and in that Standard SAP provided Travel and Expenses Module.
For few of the users, the Create Expense Report link is missing eventhough the user is assigned with the Traveller Role

Request you to let me know if any setting needs to be done in the back end/infotype to make the Create Expense Report link visible in the portal.

Hello,
Same happened on our side. User is already set with the proper roles, with the correct info types but when logging in the Portal- she, too, could not view the link for Create Expense Report (which is supposed to Create an expense report for a trip without a travel plan).
When i use my userid, and just switch personnel number to her number, I could create an expense report on her behalf.
That made me conclude that her traveller roles are fine.
Pls help.

ESS Internet Service missing PZ02

Hello,
I'm implementing PORTAL EP6 SP9 with an 46C backend and an ITS.
ESS is working fine for most transactions except for
PZ02, PZ12. They do not appear in the portal with the html design but with a SAP GUI design.
In R/3, transaction SE80, Internet Services, those transactions are missing. I have PZ03 but there is no PZ02.
Could you plse tell me if we have lost something or if we have to update our R/3 46C system. (patch 48 and HRSAPKE46C90)

I recently noticed this with the ESS Personal Information workset. Seems the Personal Data, Family / related persons / previous employees etc don't have a service. They all use WEB GUI. Originally the Bank information iView looks also to be WEB GUI until you publish it. Then IAC templates are used and the thing sticks out like a sore thumb in comparison.
I have since deleted the service file from the wgate to force it to revert back to WEB GUI for consistency.
All these transactions are associated with program SAPMPZ02 which then determines what the county key for the user then though config table T77WWW_SC the function module that retrieves the data and controls the screen is determined. I'm sure they will be replaced it soon with Java based iViews like MSS, or web dynpro.
I have recently had problems with the ITS copying PZ03, can't get the search help to work though the ITS properly, which is another story.

ESS ERP2004 - pictures missing

we are starting to use ESS on Portal 6.0. We have configered ess with the guide "Configuring the buisness packages for employee self-serverice (ess) - mysap ERP2004."
If we logon with an ESS-User under Employess Self-Service the pictures (gifs?) are missing. Instead we have an red X. Someone an idea?

Missing Area Description (long text) in ESS EhP5

Our company heavily uses the ESS Area Description (long text) to communicate FAQ's, tips, and other help information on ESS. We like how this information is directly visible to users on the area pages.
We are in the process of upgrading to EhP5 and it appears this field no longer exists in the new LaunchPad. Instead, is the intention to use the portal Help Center instead? I would like to get a definitive answer before I communicate back to the business of the change.
