Limit number of replies to a thread?

Has this ever been discussed? Is it even possible?
I was thinking of a maximum of 100 replies to a thread.

Feel free to report this post, on the bottom right corner of the post, and note in the explanation that you feel a thread is too long, or post here a copy/pasted link of a thread if you feel it has run its course. I tend to avoid long threads anyway, because it is virtually impossible to tell whom is responding to whom, and leave threads once they are threadjacked.

When I receive and answer e-mail, the correspondence is usually "nested" "behind" the original message, and the number of replies, etc. are indicated with a number next to the original message in the inbox. How can I change the mail settings so that every reply is listed individually in the inbox instead of having them "stacked" behind the original message. I'm afraid I might accidentially overlook messages the way they are handled now.

Somebody here will correct me if I'm wrong, but what you have to do is go into Settings, Mail/Contacts/Calendars and under Mail, turn off "Organize by Thread". I think that will make each message show individually.

Limit number of recipients send out external once

Hi all,
I have Exchange server 2013 CU7, I want to limit number of recipients when my users send email to external/internet.
For example:
If my users send email to more than 50 external recipients once, they will receive error "bla bla"
Limitation is not apply when my users send email to internal recipients"
or external sender send email to internal recipients
How can I do it ? (which send connector , receive connector , transport config , transport service , transport server)

I agree with Bruce.
I am sorry that we could not meet your requirement that the limit of recipient is just for external/Internet.
When we configure those setting, it will be worked for all recipient(including internal or external). It was referred by the following link:

hello all,
please find below a small program to demonstrate how to limit number of charcaters in a textarea.
i searchedthe forum and i actually got the technique from the forum. but when i put together a sa program it does not work.
could anyone point out what is the problem in the small piece of code below.

Limit Number of Rows on a Page

I am unable to succeed with the following.
I have an XML data source which looks like this:

And I want to define a template which only allows 5 rows on a page.
What I did:
I should insert a page break after the limit number of rows on a page is reached. This means that, after each group of 5 rows, a page break should be inserted.
To accomplish this goal, I followed these steps:
1. Define a field which will contain and initialize the Counter variable before the table which will show the list of employees, by using the syntax:
Field1: <?xdoxslt:set_variable($_XDOCTX, ’Counter’, 0)?>
2. Define the table which list all employees in the data source:
2.1. Use a 2 columns table. In the first column, define 2 fields as follows:
2.2. In the second column, define 6 fields containing the following code:

Field1: Declare and init Counter variable to value = 0
Field2: This fetches through all employees - start a for-each cycle
Field3: This prints the employee number
Field4: This increments the Counter variable
Field5: This prints the employee name
Field6: This tests whether Counter variable is divided by 5
Field7: This generates a page break
Field8: End of condition
Field9: End of for-each cycle
Result:
The first page has just the header and the second page has the header and only record and it goes the same
for the rest of the pages. Any help is greatly appreciated.

How to limit number of logins per day?

We have a custom web application (WebAS 6.20) used by people and automated systems. Each user has his own login, and some of these automated systems sometimes produce heavy load because they log into system too often.
Is there an easy way to:
1) limit number of logins to, say, 1000 per day and when this limit is reached - do not allow this user to login till midnight
OR
2) dedicate one of the processes to the specific user

Submit submit a large number of task to a thread pool (more than 10,000)

i want to submit a large number of task to a thread pool (more than 10,000).
Since a thread pool take runnable as input i have to create as many objects of Runnable as the number of task, but since the number of task is very large it causes the memory overflow and my application crashes.
Can you suggest me some way to overcome this problem?

i had created a large number of runnables and future objects and they remain in memory until
user terminates the operation might be the cause of the memory overflow.It could be the size of the resources each runnable holds. Have you tried increasing your maximum memory? e.g. -Xmx512m

How do you get the maximum number of logfiles for each thread and the max thread?

If you are running RAC you can, in theory, be running with a diferent count
of Online Redo Logs in each thread (instance).
However, normally, you would have the same number of Redo Logs in each
thread.
The theoretical max is prescribed at the CREATE DATABASE and can be
changed with a CREATE CONTROLFILE. If you do an
ALTER DATABASE BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO TRACE
the sql script in the tracefile shows the maximum number of logs and members.

How to show number of replies, views, likes, bookmarks

Is there a way to show the number of replies, number of bookmarks, number of views, number of likes for an individual forum (like Yosemite OS X) like when you click on one of the main categories (Content, Discussions, etc).
Have not found any way to set these "attributes" when viewing the individual forums - only when viewing the "global" type collections of things.

Unable to view number of messages in a thread

Frustrated user here who opens Mail to find that the View bar (don't know what to call it - it is that blue dot) no longer shows the number of messages in a thread. This would be bad enough - but Mail will NOT let me expand the (Read Status?) (Thread Status?) to show the number of unread threads. I can hover the mouse over the divider bar in the "To" field to make it larger or smaller. I can hover the mouse over the divider in the "Subject" field to make it larger or smaller. Same with most (but not all) of the fields. Normally, I can expand the "blue dot" (what the heck is it called????) field, but today I can't. Last time I had this problem - maybe a year ago - I could do nothing to solve it, until about a month later when in just started working again. Help anyone? OS X 10.5.2 on an iMac (20-inch Mid 2007).

The problem mysteriously went away - just like it did the last time it happened. I can now expand the field to reveal how many messages there are in the threads. I suspect a problem with .mac mail. Maybe there are times when it doesn't know the message count (hard to say why). Anyway - the problem is not solved, but it is not (currently) present.

Limit number of concurrent connection

is there a way for me to limit the number of concurrent
connections to the media server. my upload bandwitdh is about a meg
so having too many connections just kills the whole thing. i would
like to put a limit at 5 connections. is there a way to do
this?

well i am only using flash media server to displaying videos
and just that. the reason i went with media server vs. progressive
was fullscreen method. since flash doesn't natively support
fullscreen you have to open another browser in fullscreen with
javascript. the problem with that is it start loading from
beginning so i decided to go server that way it only has to buffer
and get to the same point without having to load the whole video up
to that point. Now i want to limit number people that can be
watching the video. if i get more that 5 connection the whole thing
slows down. i am not too familiar with server based connections so
i don't know how to limit the number concurrent connections.

When I configure a Standby Redo Log, to determine the appropriate number of standby redo log file groups, I should use the following formula:

My question is: how can I determine the maximum number of logfiles for each thread ? Is it the online redo log file per group? or total of redo log files in all groups?

Limit number of subfolders

Hi Experts,
Is there a way to limit number of subfolders created on a InfoView folder?
We want out application to limit external admin users not to create more than 3 level of subfolders in InfoView Folder.

Not from within InfoView or the CMC. You would have to write your own InfoView replacement that would handle this limitation.
