Limit on LC and Bank Guarantee - Noted Items

Dear SAP Gurus,
We have a requirement from client as below for Letter of Credit and Bank Guarantee.
Example: They have taken a combined limit for BG+LC today(10th June) they would like to track this separately.
Similarly they can take a combined limit later say 15th June or 20th June……
For each such iteration a separate tracking of limit maintenance and usage should be available.
How to achieve this?   Please guide.
Thanks in advance.
with best regards
Ramesh

Hello Ramesh,
You can track Bank gurantees and Letter of credit's ,if you implement risk management ,which is under Sales and ditribution module.
Transaction code :- VX11N / 12N / 13N .

  • Bank Guarantee - Noted item

    Dears
I need to define Special GL transaction for Bank Guarantee.
I have created an Alternate GL account (reconciliation account) for the vendors.
I have set it in FBKP for K-G combination for this bank guarantee.
Other than this, do I need to give an open-item managed balance Sheet account for 'automatic off-setting posting' in FBKP ?
I heard bank guarantee is a statistic posting.  Then why an off-sett account is required, if any ?

    Dear:
When a Bank Guarantee is received from bank then date is entered as noted item whihc does not have any financial impact . This amount should be shown as open in Bank Guarantee GL A/c ( hence it should be maintained on OIM basis). Use F-57 to record the transaction. Next upon realization of payment for which it was issued, we select the Special GL indicator G to clear the open items. F-52 is used to process the same .

  • Tracking of due dates in case of letter of credit and bank guarantee

    Hi
In case of letter of credit and bank guarantee can a track be kept in sap for bill negotiated and due (means the vendor has claimed payment but payment from us to our bank is not due) ,
negotiated and due(means our payment is due)
and bills negotiated and overdue (means payment from our side to our bank is overdue)
how is it possible plz explain in detail as i have never worked ob LC and BG.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
Thanks for the answer I will try to explain my requirement .
In case of import and exports Letter of credit and bank guarantee are opened with the bank. There can be amendments also after its creation in terms , amount or validity period. Then it is negotiated and retired.
An example : A letter of credit is opened on 1st Jan. The goods are shipped on 7th Jan .Credit term given by our bank (in case of import) is 1 month which is counted from the shipment date and it expires on 7th feb. The vendor negotiates the bill on 15th jan.
The requirement is to get a report of u2018negotiated and dueu2019 and u2018negotiated and overdueu2019category.
Like from 15th Jan to 7th Feb the bill negotiated by the vendor comes under u2018negotiated and dueu2019 category and after that it comes under u2018negotiated and overdueu2019category.
List of letter of credits established , negotiated , retired and balance if any.
Letter of credit wise u2013 Bank charges paid. i.e at the time of opening , amendment , negotiation and retirement.
Same in case of bank guarantee also.
Plz explain me how can this be tracked and how to configure this.

    Hi Srinivas,
Can you please tell me how the service tax will get calculated in rental conditions?
I've made the following configuration settings:
    Step1: RE-Fx>> Accounting>> Automatically Generated Accounting Documents>> Summarize Documents:
Under this node>> Set Item Summarization "Active" for the particular co. code.
Step 2: Defined service tax under "Tax Type" for country INDIA
    Step3: Under the IMG node:
    RE-Fx>> Accounting>> Integration FI-GL, FI-AR, FI-AP>> Assign Tax Code:
I've maintained Service Tax (tax type) to the country IN.
Also in the contract under posting parameters tab; i've maintained the Tax Type as Service Tax.
In conditions tab also, when I'm simulating the condition, I'm getting the correct entries, (as shown in the screen shot):
    Condition Amount: 20,0000 INR
Net Cnd Crrncy: 20,000 INR (for the month of July)
    Tax Cnd Crrncy: 2472 INR.
However, when I'm doing RERAPP; i'm unable to post the condition. Getting the 2 errors (screen shot attached):
    1) Tax code S2 does not exist in company code E500
    2) Taxes by item is activated; consequently, transfer by item is mandatory
Kindly pl. assist where I'm going worng or any configuration missing due to which I'm unable to execute RERAPP for a condition (with service tax calcultaion) for a commercial lease in contract.
    Thanks

  • Bank Guarantee and Cash Credit Limits in SAP

    Dear SAP Gurus,
How  Bank Guarantee or Cash credit limits are maintained in SAP? How to do configuiration of it?
    Thanxs
    Regards,
    Divyesh.

    Hi,
Credit limits are set for the Customers depending on the nature of business, their repayment pattern.
This comes under Credit Management which you configure through Credit Control Area and set
credit limits to monitor the customer credit worthiness and ageing analysis.  Regarding Bank Guarantee and letter of credits, they are normally for export customers which comes under Risk and Credit Management in Sales & Distribution Basic data.  You refer to SAP pdf searching through Google for SAP's SDBFCM pdf file which gives you total scenario regarding setting of credit limits and Bank Guarantee etc.

  • Profit center not appearing in Noted Items

    Hi
I created one noted item for customer bank guarantees. Now we give this bank guarantee profit center wise (location-wise).
Now i want to see profit center-wise bank guarantees given. How to see.
My issues: Profit center field is not appearing in F-49 (Post customer noted items).
I checked field status group for GL Account as well as posting key. In both the field status group, "profit center' is optional.
So please help me how to bring profit center field in customer noted items.

    Hi,
Your original document was a noted items for which PC is irrelevant. Documents with PC assignment and created as noted item can not be simulated.  Hence you can not update PC in it. For reference purpose other fields like reference or text can be used.

  • Partial clearing for noted item

    Hi
I have created a bank guarantee (BG) given to customers as  a noted item.
When receiving payaments from customer (after invoicing is done to customer), i need to clear this BG (noted item). This clearing of noted item needs to be done for partial amount. But in clearing screen, partial amount field and residual amount field is greyed out for noted item line. Let me know how to clear noted item partially.

    Hi,
The functionality you required is not available in SAP standard system.
Noted item is only a note, it is impossible to do partial payment or residual payment when you clearing it with an  invoice together, so the amount field is greyed out.
Recommend you to consider to use alternative reconciliation account functionality, but this is real FI document  with debit and credit , not noted item.
    With Best Regards,

  • Hi, Noted item-Bank Guarantees

    Hi Gurus,
I configured the noted item for bank guarantees and i am making postings also, and my doubt whether this bank Guarantee reconciliation a/c's, we are mapping in the balances or not. what's the procedure in case of preparation of balance sheet for noted items.  Please let me know,  i will assign points.
    sd/-
    Rajesh

    Hi Rajesh,
As you understood correctly there won't be any financial impact because of these Noted items..
All these are single line item documents....
Even though we assign the Recon a/c to these Spl GL a/c, there won't be any posting to these a/c and even if you assign them to the FSV, system will not show any balance on your Balance sheet or Trial Balance.
These are only useful for reporting...in FBL1N and FBL5N you can generate reports by selecting the Noted items in the selection given in the down.....
I hope it will clarify your doubt...otherwise please revert back
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi friends
Can u help me as to the actual business flows of Bank Guarantees and Letter of Credit? In SAP, they are treated as noted items, but what is the exact procedure regards the liability creation.
Any useful links wud be welcome.

    Dear Sanju MS,
please kindly run the transaction OBXY. You should already have the following entries:
    D          G          Guaran.         Guarantee
D          L          Letter          Letter of Credit
Then You can use F-38, F-49 to post.

  • Statistical and noted item

    Hi,
May I know if there is a difference between statistical posting (like F-38 statistical posting and F-19 for reversal statistical) and noted item (F-47).
I know that noted item only create 1 line and able to track in line item display whereas statistical like record guarantee. Both also no impact to fin statement.
I would like to know the PURPOSE or difference for statistical posting and noted item.
    Thanks
    Rgds

The company normally requires the customers to secure their
credit lines with bank guarantees, cash bonds, personal
guarantees and even letters of credit. Some of these
documents however require monitoring since they usually have
    expiration period.
The system provides monitoring of these noted items by
allowing the user to create noted items for a particular
customer. This would help the user monitor all these expiry
periods, special notes, and other information the user
deemed necessary to ensure full implementation of company
    controls.
These noted items given by customers will increase the
    credit exposure as well.
But BG/LC given to the customer by the company will not
    affect the credit exposure.
The document entry of Noted Items is created by using T-Code
F-49. Using Special G/L indicator u2018Gu2019 for Bank guarantee and
u2018Lu2019 for Letter of Credit when noted items are received from
    customers.
When BG is given to customers Special GL indicator u2018Yu2019 maybe
    given.

  • Statistical and noted item   difference?

Can any one tell me wht is the difference between Statistcal Postiing f-55  and Noted item posting  f-57
What activites we capture in stsisticalposting and in noted items

    Hi
Noted items are only one sided entries. They don't lead to the two sided postings in the FI.But an statistical items causes two sided postings in FI.Statistical postings are generally used for guarantees given.
Noted items are used in cases such as when down payment request is made to the customers. It is also considered during the dunning process and notices are send accordingly.

My requirement is to get system alerts when the the Letter of Credit(LOC) or Bank Guarantee (BG) is going to be expired.
We are using Third Party software for  master data and other information related to  Letter of credit.
In SAP ,I will  do special GL for LOC and assign to Reconciliation Account as  per standard.
What is the best practice to get system allert, when ever the date is going to get expired.
    Many Thanks In advance

    Hi,
In case you want to send the last record only, then you can use following qurey
    SELECT TOP 1 * FROM DBO.OVPM T0 WHERE T0.CashSum >= 10000 AND DATEDIFF(DD, T0.CreateDate, GetDate()) = 0 ORDER BY T0.CreateDate DESC
then in Alert u can set the frequency as 1 minute.
    Hope this helps...

  • Bank guarantee and Letter of Credit

How does one include Bank guarantee in SAP SD credit check.
What is the difference between bank guarantee and letter or credit?

    Dear Ravi
To my knowledge, Bank Guarantee is used only in Imports whereas, L/C is used in both (exports and imports) scenarios.  In both the cases, bank stand guarantee for payment to seller.
