Lines When Certain Things are on Screen

Hi! For some reason, when my screen saver or the iTunes visualizer comes on there are these pink lined boxes that show up. It looks like something you'd see on a video camera to show the over exposed whiteness.
Not sure if my 20 month old hit something but I can't seem to figuire it out.

Two things to peek at: Displays Preferences and Universal Access Preferences. I found that changing the color depth had interesting effects with my card on both visualizer and screen saver, so not having depth set to millions may be the answer. Universal Access Preferences in the "seeing" tab has some switches and a slider in the "Display" section. The slider should be all the way to the left.
Are the lines you are seeing irregular outlines of highlight areas?

Certain things are not displaying of pages

Certain things are not displaying that I know are there. For example, on one of my websites there are 3 banner ads and the bottom of the pages plus there is another line that has ads scrolling across the page, I can see it with IE or Chrome but on Firefox all I see are 2 banner ads and no scrolling ads. This is just one example but it seems 1that certain graphics or banner ads do not display. The site I mentioned is at http://www.ViralTrafficMania.com.
Other people with Firefox say it displays fine so it must be something in my settings but I can't find it, please help.

You don't happen to run any ad blockers or script blockers or privacy extensions, do you? To see whether any of your extensions could be responsible for the blocking, try the site in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)

Phone reboots when certain songs are played on the music app?

on my iphone 5c, if i try playing certain songs in my music app, they play for a few seconds and then my entire phone reboots. i have a lot of music on my phone and all of the songs that do this are from the same album. it also didn't start doing this until after i updates to ios 8. i've tried looking elsewhere to see if someone else has had this problem but i've come up empty. its really inconvenient because i can't even listen to those songs now. i've also noticed that its only when i have headphones or an auxiliary cord plugged into my phone.

If you are having issues with your restarting when certain songs are played through headphones, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Force an app to close in iOS
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPhone -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings

Mail.app crashes when certain messages are selected

I recently migrated a user from OS X 10.4 to 10.5. When we run Mail.app, it will crash when certain messages are clicked.
I've tried everything I could to get the mail in in a different way -- importing it in different ways, deleting ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist, and re-importing, etc.
It certainly seems that the problem is tied to the individual message, as clicking on a certain message, even if it is in different folders (because of the way it was imported) causes the crash.

My guess, the email(s) are from windos users?
I had this problem, until I switched to thunderbird. A few people, using a version (don't remember the version number) of outlook/outlook express, would send multimedia attachments.
As soon as I would select the email, Mail would crash.
I would copy the offending email to a folder with no other contents, and then open it up with TextEdit, to view the non-attachment portion.

Office 2010 Don't print blank lines when data fields are empty

How do you do this in office 2010? Where do we go now?
This used to be under the Tools menu in previous versions:
On the Tools menu, click Mail Merge.
In the Mail Merge Helper dialog box, click Merge.
NOTE: You must select the main document and data source for the merge before doing step 2.
In the Merge dialog box, under When Merging Records, click either:
Don't print blank lines when data fields are empty.

Print blank lines when data fields are empty.
Click Close in the Merge dialog box, and then click

Negotiation Phase is only for Quotes - it does not apply to Sales orders. You need to create a Defaulting Condition template similar to that called 'In Fulfilment Phase' for Sales orders.
Here are the details:
(1) Navigate to Setup >> Rules >> Search for Application='Order Management' and Entity = 'Order Header' >> Once the rules appear click on 'Defaulting Condition template' >> Under 'In Negotiation Phase' create another Validaton template named 'In Fulfillment Phase' >> Enter any Group# >>Under Validation Rules, Select Attribute as 'Transaction Phase' >> Mark it '=' 'Fulfillment' >> Save
(2) Click Tools (top menu option) >> Generate Defaulting Handler package (you can also run the conc program)
(3) Go to the Ordered Date defaulting rule and do as I had mentioned below.

Is it normal to see white lines when you press the home screen while it's charging?

Hi, I have a brand new ipad mini and I'm noticing that while I'm charging it and it's in sleep mode, if I press the home screen button whitish/grey lines will appear on the bottom of the screen for a few seconds then fade away. Is normal when charging your ipad mini?

Dropdown field - when certain entries are selected make another field unavailable for data input

Hi All,
Sorry one again I am very new to forms and have another question. I have a dropdown list which when selecting certain values I need another field to be unavailable so the user can't enter data.
Hope this example makes sense:

Here's a script that you can use for the custom Validate script of the dropdown. It resets the value of the corresponding text field whenever a change is made to the dropdown. You can get rid of the line that does this if you don't want this to happen. Change "text1" in the code to match the name of the text field you're using.

Certain things are meant to be played together...

Two questions:
1. I'd like the multi-disc sets that I have in iTunes to play continuously without my having to do anything. For example, I want to listen to disc 1 and then disc 2 of "Phish--A Live One" seamlessly. How do I do this?
2. There are certain songs that are meant to be played back to back. The most obvious example that comes to mind is Led Zeppelin's "Heartbreaker" and "Living Loving Maid." Is there any way I can have these songs linked to be played back-to-back, even when I'm in shuffle mode?

The way to link songs so they have no gap is by putting the original CD into you computer, then in iTunes you click on the two songs (must be in Track # order. 1-X), when they are both blue go to Advanced -> Join Tracks. This must be done when you have the CD in your drive. Then import the CD. Those songs you highlighted will be played with no gap.
i'm not sure if it stays this way in shuffle, but it's worth a try.

Flash Pro CC keeps crashing unexpectedly when certain tools are clicked

Flash Professional CC keeps crashing whenever I click on the pencil tool or the polystar tool. The ellipse tool is also acting strangely in that it only shows part of the circle or oval when I create a circle or oval. The line tool won't align properly with the cursor, either.
My system is a Windows 8.1 with an Intel Core i3 processor.
For some reason, I can't install the updates that I downloaded from the Adobe website.

I am having some of the same problems. The New Document option popup page is out of alignment (shifted to the right, so template descriptions and previews are cut off), the mouse alignment is off, I can't see all the menu options and the program is crashing all the time. This is my first day using the trial version I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling. No change. Extremely frustrating!

Quicktime almost dies when certain programs are open alongside it

I download video podcasts in iTunes. When I go to play them (either in iTunes itself or "in a new window"), they are ALWAYS choppy--both audio and video--to the point where they're just plain unwatchable.
HOWEVER, if I open that same file in the Quicktime standalone player itself, I HAVE NO PROBLEMS. So, my conclusion is that this is an iTunes/quicktime issue, not a Quicktime itself issue. It has something to do with iTunes
My whole system also freezes up during these 3 second bursts as well, with the exception of my trusty mouse.
The reason this is happening has to do with ANYTHING that has a FADE EFFECT. I do not know why, but if I right-click anywhere (producing a menu that fades in), or if I toggle my keyboard's volume up/down keys (producing a bezel that pops in but fades out), OR if I have Yahoo! Widget Engine open (which has transparency options for any widget), I seem to encounter this sputtering behavior with Quicktime.
It's frustrating to isolate the problem and have no idea why this is happening. I have reinstalled quicktime/iTunes but still the same thing happens.
Any assistance?

Nobody knows what's going on. I ditched the crappy PC, bought a Mac, haven't had a problem since.

Crash when certain folders are opened in media browser.

OPneing a project is fine but when I open that sequences folder in the media browser, premier crashes. I have roughly 20 projects working currently and roughly 5 or 6 do this. I did upgrade to Mavericks a few days ago which screwed up my AE and I fixed with a patch. Is there something for Premiere as well?
Slight panic going on here as a couple of them are due soon....and I can not acccess.

MacBook White lagging and hanging when certain applications are being run

My 9-month-old MacBook White (Core 2 Duo, 2.4 GHz) lags whenever I use SketchUp, and hangs sometimes when I use FlightGear or X-Plane (flight simulators). No other applications were running when these were being used. Is it a CPU problem, or a RAM shortage? Any answers and/or clarification would be much appreciated.

Can you go to Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor and check that all the processes you are running are Intel (you will find this info under the "Kind" column in the Activity Monitor window).
Also see (in the same window, under the "%CPU" column) if there appears to be any processes which are using an inordinate amount of CPU.

my safari quits when a tab i opened, and also quits upon opening for of certain websites, this just started several days ago for no apparent reason, why?

Post a crash report so we can try and help you.
If Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash information.
Copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your reply.
If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.

Can time machine be set to not back up when certain programs are open?

Yes, time machine can be turned off manually before playing games downloading a large file, etc. Is there any way for time machine to not back up while a specified game or program is open? Or is there an app that helps with this? Thanks!
