Linetime chart with area functionality

I'm using timeline charts when I want to display graph over time and I have few missing samples.
Not like simple line graph, the timeline compensate on the holes.
No I want to use area chart and, again, I have the problem with missing samples.
Is there a way to combine area chart and timeline functionality?
Is there a way to transform the linetime's lines to areas?

Did you mean a Trendline? If that is the case, right click on any of the areas in the area chart and select Trendlines from the context menu.

  • Scatter chart with two series?

    I have a table showing my cat's weight each day. (He's on a much needed diet and it's important to make sure he's losing weight, but not more that about 1% per week, as I experiment with his diet.) I created a scatter chart with the date on the X axis and his weight on the Y axis, and I made a 7 day moving average trendline to show his progress with most of the random daily fluctuations evened out. So far so good.
    I added a column to the chart with a function showing what his weight would be each day if it decreased 1% per week from the average of the previous week. I would like to add this column of data as a second series on the scatter chart so I can make sure he's not losing weight too fast. But I can find no way to do this.
    I had no trouble showing both series on a line chart. But no luck with the scatter chart. I tried creating a new scatter chart using all three columns of data, and I tried dragging the third column of data to the original scatter chart.
    Is it really possible that Numbers '09 cannot show two data series on a scatter chart? Or is there a way to do it?
    Thanks for any assistance.
    Bill

    Hi Bill,
    Maybe this will help. A Scatter Chart displays data pairs, such as a date and a weight. A single column of data would be only one half of the data-pair set. Select both the X and Y value columns for the second set and then add to the Scatter chart.

    I would only mention that your definition is incomplete for this -
    Contextual selector A type of Style Sheet Selector that
    and that it's most often referred to now as a Descendent selector, not a contextual selector.  It's basically the same as the Compound selector that you have already defined....

  • 3D Area chart with incremental sum

    Hi all,
    I am quite new to Numbers, but I found it to be extremely powerful in keeping control of my activity, especially if used with iCloud.
    In this case I have a spreadsheet with all my recorded invoices.
    This is, roughly, the structure:
    invoice id
    amount
    sent
    payed
    201301
    1000
    12/06/2013
    11/11/2013
    201302
    1500
    14/07/2013
    09/10/2013
    201303
    2000
    15/08/2013
    201304
    3000
    20/08/2013
    28/11/2013
    I would like to have a 3D area chart, composed by two areas.
    For first area there should be 4 momentum on x-axis (but I can add invoices anytime) representing 'sent'.
    At each point I need to have the incremental sum which is 1000, 2500, 4500, 7500.
    The other area has the real payed amount, an in this case on x-axis it would be 3 momentum representing 'payed'.
    And the same apply for the sum: 1500, 2500, 5000.
    Of course I have full control on this spreadsheet, therefore if necessary, I can add tables, rows, columns to achieve my need.
    I hope I made myself clear.

    I think this is what you want:
    Add two columns as shown (columns E and F).  I titled them "Amount Due" and "Amount Paid"
    E2=IF(ISBLANK(D2), SUM(E1), SUM(E1,B2))
    F2=SUM($B$2:B2)
    the notation "F2=SUM($B$2:B2)" means in cell F2 type (or paste from here) the formula:
    "=SUM($B$2:B2)" without the double quotes.
    select E2 and F2, copy, select E2 thru the end of column F (F5 in this example), paste
    make the first row a header and
    make the first column a header and
    now select columns A, E and F, now add a chart using the menu item "Insert > Chart > 2D Area"

  • Line chart with different "colors": Values not available are displayed as 0

    Hello,
    I defined a line chart with more than one lines (aka "colors" in the chart wizzard) - each line representing the (monthly) values of a year. x axis are the 12 months of the year; y axis are the values.
    When one defines such a line chart in BIP client there is a choice between sum, average and count for the data values.
    This is no problem for my template as there is only one value per month/year - so I used sum.
    The problem: for the actual year there are no values for future months . But bip nevertheless shows 0 for this month/year... Can one prevent this?
    Regards
    Peter

    Solved it finally - unavailable values must explicitly be passed to the report with nothing contained in the value tag.

  • Average on chart with Region Area

    Hello,
    I have a Line chart with time periods as X Axis, Count of Incidents as Y Axis, and Resolution Code as Region.
    Now I want to make one more line on chart - average count of incidents, despite the Resolution code (over all codes).
    But when I insert measure like =Average(Count([Number])) on chart, it applies resolution codes to it.
    Is there a way to insert a line independent from Region?

    A step is a dimension, which represents date.
    User is prompted to choose possible period from such:
    25 months with step of 6 months
    13 months with step of 1 month
    1 day with step of 1 hour
    I have a special view in DB, which calculates each step, e.g. for period "1 month with step 1 day":
    Name              StartDate           EndDate                 Step                    Number
    1 month         2014-06-11         2014-07-11          2014-06-12            IM1000000
    1 month         2014-06-11         2014-07-11          2014-06-13            IM1000001
    1 month         2014-06-11         2014-07-11          2014-06-13            IM1000002
    So what I am doing, is calculating Count of Number ForEach step.
    Then I add field Resolution Code from another table, and thus I get my chart.
    Basically, what I need to have as trend line is Average Count for Each Step despite Resolution Code.
    Hope, this makes my issue clearer.
    P.S. =Average(Count(Number) foreach([Step])) in Report isn't helping, the issue is the same.

  • Slicer Time Dimension Issue with Cube Functions

    Hi,
    Hoping someone can help me figure out right approach here.
    Summary:
    Using Excel 2013 connected to a SSAS cube as data source, and cube functions with slicers to create a dashboard.
    Have following time dimension slicers; Fiscal Year, Fiscal Quarter, Fiscal Month, Fiscal Week & Date, that are used to slice data based on user selection, along
    with a sales measure.
    Below is example of Slicer name and CubeMember function for each:
    Slicer_Fiscal_Year:
    =CUBEMEMBER("Cube","[Date].[Fiscal Year].&[2015]")
    Slicer_Fiscal_Quarter:
    =CUBEMEMBER("Cube","[Date].[Fiscal Quarter].[All]")
    Slicer_Fiscal_Month:
    =CUBEMEMBER("Cube","[Date].[Fiscal Month].&[201408]")
    Slicer_Fiscal_Week:
    =CUBEMEMBER("Cube","[Date].[Fiscal Week].&[201509]")
    Slicer_Date:
    =CUBEMEMBER("Cube","[Date].[Date].[All]")
    Problem:
    What I am trying to do is to build a table with cube functions that takes the lowest grain of the slicer time dimension selected, shows the current member, plus
    the prior 7 so I can have an 8 period trending view table that I will build a chart from. In the above example that would mean that it would look at Slicer_Fiscal_Week since that is lowest grain that has an attribute other than All, and then show me the prior
    7 periods. In this case 201509 means Week 9, so I would want to show in table Week 9 back to Week 2. But if Slicer_Fiscal_Week was set to All, along with Slicer_Date, then Fiscal Month would be lowest grain, so I would want to show Fiscal Months from August
    (201408) back to January 2014. I know how to use CubeRankedMember to pull the value from what is selected in the slicer, the problem is figuring out how to pass the lowest grain time dimension so that I can use lag or some other MDX function to get the previous
    periods.
    Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

  • Pie Chart with Legend

    Hey Experts,
    I have a small issue but cannot seem to find the solution. I have a pie chart with legends which I want to show side by side (horizontally). First pie chart and then legends. My requirement is that when the window is resized, the pie chart should also resize. I am able to show the chart and legends horizontally but when the legends list is long, the pie chart is always aligned in the center vertically. I tried setting all properties such as verticalAlign = "top", verticalCenter = "false", tried putting pie chart and legends in a separate VBox but nothing seems to work. Below is the code snippet.
    I believe others would have faced this problem. Can someone help?
    <mx:HBox width="100%" height="100%" verticalAlign="top" verticalCenter="false">
         <mx:VBox width="100%" verticalAlign="top" verticalCenter="false">
              <mx:PieChart id="pieChart" width="100%" height="100%" showDataTips="true" minWidth="200" minHeight="200" verticalCenter="false"/>
         </mx:VBox>
         <mx:VBox width="100%" verticalAlign="top" verticalCenter="false">
              <mx:Legend width="100%" height="100%" dataProvider="{pieChart}"/>
         </mx:VBox>
    </mx:HBox>

    Hi Dajji,
    Here is the code which resolves the problem...
    Note: In the code below I have removed the percentage width and height for PieChart.....that resolves the problem.....but the thing here is as you resize
    your browser window the piechart width and height will not change accordingly...? Do you need PieChart to change its dimensions as your browser window
    resizes...???
    However if you specify width="100%" and height="100%" for PieChart you never gonna acheive the PieChart to be vertically alined to top.....why because
    as you specified width="100%" and height="100%" for PieChart it occupies the total dimensions of the VBox but the actual visible portion dimensions are
    less... because within the VBox you also have the legends so Flex will assign the sizes proportionately....for PieChart and Legends..
    Hope you got my point...So you should remove the width="100%" and height="100%" for PieChart then you can acheive what you needed...

  • Chart with parameters in SSRS 2012

    Hello,
      I want to do a chart (line chart particularly, but I will take an answer for any chart as they all probably work similarly) with one parameter passed (hospitalid) and two values returned (BedDays and MonthYear).  MonthYear is how the horizontal
    line is divided, by each month, and the BedDays should be the number of patient stays in beds in that month.  Doesn't matter if it's sum of bed days or bed days, because a sum is made in the stored procedure, and MonthYear is unique.
      I have spend a few days on this problem, working a lot on it, and I keep running into errors, trying various methods.  I don't know where all my errors could be coming from, it could be in the aspx, it could be in the report design, or it could
    be in the code behind, so I am hoping someone can give me a step by step solution to this problem which should be simple, but apparently is not because there is no worthwhile help that I can find on the internet.  It should work for SSRS 2012, I do not
    have a choice of using an earlier version for this project.  Please include everything I need to do in the report GUI, in the aspx file, and in the code behind, as any little error in any of these could keep this from working and make it very difficult
    for me to pinpoint what is going wrong.
      Please help!

    I'm using Visual Studio 2013.  According to what I read, there is no report preview in newer versions?
    I created a report and then added a line chart.
    I used my connection and under Data Set Name I put: AllevantReportDataSetB
    Under Choose the Dataset, I selected AllevantReportDataSetB as the data source.
    For "Name" I chose DataSetB
    The stored procedure works (that is all you need to know, because the inner detail shouldn't make a difference), and when a parameter @facilityid is passed to it, it returns a table with the first column named MonthYear which is a date of all of the months,
    years, and the first of each month from the beginning to end of the data - and the second column is BedDays, the number of total stays in a bed for all of the patients at the facility.
    In Category groups, I have MonthYear, and in Values I have BedDays (actually [Sum(BedDays)], but the sum shouldn't matter, because the MonthYears are unique so there is only one MonthYear, there is not more than one of the same month in the whole data set)

    And my VB code behind is the following:
    Protected Function GetReportDataTable() As DataTable
    Dim Conn As New SqlConnection(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("sql").ToString)
    Dim Command As New SqlCommand("BedDays", Conn)
    Dim BedDaysDataTable As New DataTable()
    BedDaysDataTable.Columns.Add("MonthYear", GetType(DateTime))
    BedDaysDataTable.Columns.Add("BedDays", GetType(Int32))
    Command.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure
    Command.Parameters.Add("@facID", SqlDbType.Int).Value = 20
    Command.Connection = Conn
    Conn.Open()
    Dim DataReader As SqlDataReader = Command.ExecuteReader()
    BedDaysDataTable.Load(DataReader)
    Conn.Close()
    Return BedDaysDataTable
    End Function
    Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
    If Not IsPostBack Then
    FillMetricsDDL()
    FillFacilityDDL()
    Dim rds As ReportDataSource
    rds = New ReportDataSource("Report1DataSource", GetReportDataTable)
    Dim ReportParameters As New List(Of ReportParameter)
    ReportParameters.Add(New ReportParameter("@facID", 20))
    ReportViewer1.LocalReport.DataSources.Add(rds)
    ReportViewer1.LocalReport.ReportPath = "Report5.rdlc"
    ReportViewer1.LocalReport.Refresh()
    End If
    Common.Chosen(Me)
    End Sub
      I am getting the error where the report should be
    Unable to connect to the remote server, no connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
    But I suppose once this error is resolved, there will be more, because I really do not quite know exactly how SSRS charts with parameters in SSRS 2012 are suppossed to work, in code behind, in aspx, and in the charting, and how it all ties together.  So
    some complete guidance to show ALL the places where I am going wrong here would be much appreciated, not just an attempt to solve the one error I have above, which may not be the sum total of all of my problems here.
    Unless, of course, it IS the only error which would be GREAT.

  • How to create a Power Pivot Chart with Dynamic X-Axis (date time) similar to that in Performance monitor (Start-- Run-- Perfmon)?

    Hi,
    I want to create a Power Pivot Chart and a Power View chart in Power BI where the x-axis should be the current system date time axis and it's functionality should be similar to that in Perfmon.exe tool (Start-->Run-->Perfmon)?

    Hi Manjunath,
    Do you mean you want to programmatically create such a dynamic chart which has a X axis of time? If you just want to do this manually, please take a look at this document which is talking about how to create charts with Power BI:

  • Documaker Charts - design and functionality

    Hello, Documaker users!
    We have faced interesting requirements from client - to insert a chart with a trend into a printout. All the data will be variable, but i have more questions about Documaker Chart functionality and design:
    1. As you see i need grey horizontal gridlines, but if i tick "Axis grid marks" option, they will overlay columns and i can't find any option to bring them backward. Can you please suggest me how to move gridlines backward?
    2. I need to name columns after months in Latvian language. As I understand in "Point Axis Labels" i need to select a Custom "Format", but I don't see any options where I can manually enter necessary characteristics. Can someone please advice me how to manually entitle columns?
    3. Client wants to display the amount of each column, but I can't find this functionality at all. What is the best way how to do it?
    Thank you for your reaction and answers!
    We are using Documaker Studio 12.1.1.19133, Documaker Standard Edition

    Hi,
    We have a potential workaround\solution to item 1.
    3D charts place the gridlines in the background; 2D charts place the gridlines in the foreground.
    Based on your picture, your chart type is set to 2D vertical Bar.
    Change the chart type to 3D Vertical Bar.
    Then go to the 3-Dimension group in your Graph options.
    change the X-Axis rotation and y-Axis rotation to 0.
    Your chart should now resemble a 2D vertical bar with the grid lines will be in the background.
    thanks
