Link Behavior Question

Good Morning,
How do I ensure my current page values will be accessible thru the DataActionContext when a link is pressed?
Thanks

Can we clarify the scenario?
Do you have an input form which may (or may not) have changed data on it and you want to make sure that those updates are processed by the DataAction before you head off to where-ever the link points to?
If that's the case you'll need to use JavaScript to trigger a Form submit when the link is clicked, and then forward on in the findForward method of the DataAction

  • Wikiserver strips out links with question marks

    Since installing a fresh copy of yosemite and server 4, I've noticed the wiki server no longer allows links with question marks.
    This makes it impossible to create links that are based on tags
    eg https://myserver/wiki/find?tags=mytag
    I also use the wiki to share links to a auto login page with also needs a question mark.
    Is this something that can be added to the the whitelist ?

    Cheers Linc
    I have sort of got round it by using a link shortening service, not ideal but works for now

  • 3D repousse objects and linking / rotation question

    In Photoshop CS5 Ext, I have 4 layers, each with a 3D repousse object on them. I want to somehow link them, so that I can rotate the object as a whole (or the camera), but also want to still be able to manipulate the objects separately (like rotate and position). Is there a way to do this in PS, or does this need to be done in another program like Flash? Tried unsuccessfully using merge 3D, linking, grouping...
    Thanks,
    John

    Thanks Steve for the reply and screenshot.
    I see that 3D panel will let me rotate, etc., but it doesn't look like I will be able to rotate objects separately using animation from the timeline, will it? That is another thing I forgot to mention that I want to do, is be able to animate (rotate and move) the objects separately.
    Thanks,
    John

    Hi John,
    Merging 3D layers should be what you want. When you tried this what failed? If it was that you could only transform all of the objects instead of each separate object, then you'll need to make sure you are using the appropriate 3D tool. The UI needs some work to make this a bit easier to discover.
    There are 3D Mesh tools in the 3D panel that allow you to manipulate individual meshes, instead of the whole scene (3D Object tools).

  • Link Behavior Bug in Motion 5

    I've repeatedly defined a bevavior to two link colors together (a gradient colorize from one group links to the gradient colorize of another group.) I'll set it, it works just fine. When I close the project and open it up again, the "Apply To" is always reset and blank, but the Source Parameter will be intact.
    Is there a known bug for this?
    This in in Motion 5, which isn't available as a product option when submitting this discussion.

    The behavior is being applied to the RGB colors of a Gradient Colorize filter, not the gradient itself. Correct, the gradient is made of multiple values (RGB colors, locations, opacity) so applying a behavior to the entire gradient doesn't even make sense, and rightly so is impossible to do.
    So if you apply the Gradient Colorize filter to anything, select the first (or second) color in the gradient, then to the right of the color control (and dropper icon) you'll see the ability to apply a behavior. This color can be linked to any other RGB value in any other layer or group via a Link behavior.
    However, in my case, when I do it.. it never saves.
    I've run tests from scratch where it WILL save. There's something unique to this project that Motion doesn't like.. and for the life of me, I can't figure it out, other than to just call it a bug.
    Here's the test file that I set up that does work:
    http://www.mediafire.com/?qpxhdmjdlljns85
    There's a source group and two linked groups that follow the source group. Changing the colors of the source group changes the colors of the other two groups. This one, for some reason, saves.
    So, what the heck does that do for me? Nothing.. in fact it's worse. There's some sort of conflict going on that I need to find that keeps mine from saving properly.

  • Why are link behaviors working in my render but not my export?

    When I export my video, the link behaviors don't behave like they do when I preview the video in the player window. It's like the export feature doesn't even know they're there. What's going on?

    Hi Ben, thanks for helping.
    I set all of the Render settings as you said, both on the Preview Canvas as well on the Export settings.
    My export is still different than my preview. Here are the problems (all link behaviors):
    "Link Slit Scan"
    Source Parameter: Filters.Insect Eye.Refraction
    Apply To: Filters.Slit Scan.Glow
    Notes: In the preview, the slit scan is glowing bright white. In the export, it's completely dark.
    "Link Halftone"
    Source Parameter: Filters.Insect Eye.Refraction
    Apply To: Filters.Halftone.Mix
    Notes: In the preview, the halftone triggers along with the refraction. In the export, the halftone doesn't exist.
    Extra Note: This is the same behavior that keeps changing the target to "Filters.Bad TV.Mix" when I close and reopen the project.
    "Link Bad TV"
    Source Parameter: Filters.Insect Eye.Refraction
    Apply To: Filters.Bad TV.Waviness
    Notes: In the preview, the waviness triggers smoothly along with the refraction (when the Bad TV mix is up). In the export, the waviness is jittering out of control.
    By the way, Filters.Insect Eye.Refraction is controlled by an audio behavior, but the Refraction itself is working just fine.
    I'll check out Ripple Training too. Thanks!

  • How to link individual question boxes in a Muse website to respective sections of a PDF form

    Hello! I have got two questions in terms of using Acobat Form Central and Muse.
    Q1:I built a website using Adobe Muse. I want  to link individual question boxes in this website website to respective sections of a PDF form built in Adobe Form Central. Can you please let me know how to do this?
    Q2: I imported a PDF form into the Muse website  using HTML.  I want to know how to expand the size of the whole form in the website, or at least to increase the font size.
    Many thanks!

    Hi,
    The Adobe Muse forum would be a better target for your question:

  • Lag the link behavior....

    Let's say you have a square and its oscillating back and forth on the X axis. Then you create a circle and you use the link behavior to link the X parameter of the circle to the x parameter of the square, so now you have both shapes oscillating together back and forth on the x axis. Can anyone figure out a way that I could make that circle lag behind the square. So, the circle would be moving the same speed and distance during its oscillation, but it would just be a little behind the movement of the square.
    Any ideas? Thanks.

    Ok. Thanks for the mental exercise. It took me about 30 minutes to figure it out.
    The key is not to link the two rotations together, but to link behaviors. Here's how to do it.
    Apply the oscillate behavior to the X rotation of the rectangle. Set up as you like.
    Duplicate the behavior and apply it to the Circle.
    Add the Link behavior to the circle. Set the source object as the rectangle. Change the source parameter to the rectangle behavior's amplitude. Change the target parameter to the circle behavior's amplitude.
    Adjust the phase on the circle's oscillate behavior. This will change the timing of the oscillation but the link will ensure that any changes to the amplitude of the rectangle will be reflected in the circle.
    Animate the Custom Mix with keyframes from 0 to 1. This will allow you to control a "start up" if you will of the circle not moving, but rather reacting to the rectangle.
    You can also link the speed of the rectangle's oscillation if you like as well, but that requires another link behavior. It all depends on how much control you need.

  • Invert Link Behavior

    It doesn't seem you can write in the parameters fields even though they are shown. Dose anyone know how to invert a link behavior?
    (ex. one layer blinks on and off, linked layer blinks off and on)
    TOnyTOny

    Thank You,
    I also needed to set the Apply Mode to Add to Source, then this worked. It's one of those things where Apple has abstracted the function so much that it isn't discernable. I slided the slider to minus one but that was as far as it would drag. I assumed that is were I would have made the invertion but not being able to get there I didn't follow up on it. I knew that you can go outside the silder range but usally they go equally positive and negative.
    I would like to see the whole expression (and be able to edit it).

  • Link List question

    This is more of a development question rather than programming I hope its not wrong to post it here. I apologize if I did
    I am developing a Linked List class that handles a list however, there is a potential (in fact almost a certainty) that the nodes could call to itself and cause an endless loop if running through the it. Any suggestion on how to handle such a case ?

    It's kind of hard to say without more details, but the two general approaches that pop to mind are:
    1) Document it. If the user chooses to ignore the docs, they get bad--posisbly undefined--behavior, and that's their problem.
    2) On every relevant operation, do a search for cycles. Keep track of which nodes you've touched so far. Since the size of the list (and hence the length of a cycle) is theoretically unbounded, and searching every possible path for cycles in a large or complex list (which sounds more like a graph than a list) can take mucho time and/or memory, you'll have to set an upper bound on how deep you'll search. If there's a cycle whose path length is longer than this depth, then you're back to #1 anyway.

  • Link Cost Question

    Hello!
    apologies for my bad English
    Have read through different sites and services links and got stuck with few questions - I have recently taken over AD role from previous admin
    our setup below please :
    We have 4 physical sites
    Dusseldorf, cologne, Frankfurt and nuremberg . Each of these sites have 1 Domain controller each and each site has 500 users .
    ( Dusseldorf near site is Cologne )
    (Cologne near site is Frankfurt )
    (Frankfurt near site is Nuremberg)
    BASL is enabled and all 4 sites have netework connectivity.
    There is only one site link with all 4 sites into the site link with site link cost 100 , when we did a DR activity , we found that
    when Dusseldorf site was shutdown - No IP connectivity, clients were authenticating to Nuremberg rather cologne
    and when started analyzing the behavior , I read through Ace fekay blog post
    http://blogs.msmvps.com/acefekay/2013/02/24/ad-site-design-and-auto-site-link-bridging-or-bridge-all-site-links-basl/
    I have two questions
    ^^ DO I need to remove 4 sites from site link and configure , 3 site links ? assuming one site has complete AD replica and other sites replicate from main site ?
    ^^ clients DNS on dusseldorf is configured with itself as primary and cologne site as secondary , when client queries the DNS LDAP for site specific records, will DNS check for site link cost ?
    Eg: in the event of site failure
          - I restart the client
          - client in Dusseldorf queries primary DNS till the timeout and then it will query secondary DNS which is pointed to Cologne
          - Secondary DNS will return list of DC's from _LDAP._TCP.dc._msdcs.domainname
          - client sends the ping to dusseldorf DC and gets no result, but receives reply from all other 3 site DC's and one of the DC  will refer client to particular site based on its IP subnet
             < does DC checks site cost before assigning site to subnet or site cost is only considered during replication ?

    Just seeing this now. I agree with Paul's assessment and recommendations.
    Just to touch base on the issue, you stated:
    "( Dusseldorf near site is Cologne )
    (Cologne near site is Frankfurt )
    (Frankfurt near site is Nuremberg)"
    "[...] when Dusseldorf site was shutdown - No IP connectivity, clients were authenticating to Nuremberg rather cologne."
    I assume that you mean the DC in Dusseldorf was shutdown for the DR test. I see that you want the client to authenticate to Cologne. However, I'm not sure what you mean by "nearest" site, since AD can't tell how far a site is, whether a different subnet
    locally or in another town, but the clients will use a number of things to failover querying for another DCs. Part of it is that if an optimal DC can't be located in its own site (as you've already probably read in Paul's KB link), it will look elsewhere,
    but how does it do that? There are a number of mechanisms in place, and one of which is netmask ordering - using the longest subnet bits first. So the Dusseldorf and Nuremberg site subnets bits must be closest compared to Cologne. Here's a couple of good
    discussions that will explain this more:
    Good summary of Subnet Priortization, Netmask Ordering, and AD Sites, which is used first, etc.
    Using Round Robin and Netmask Ordering for load balancing

    And needless to say, there will be a period of time that the local machines in a site that have the DC cached. Now depending on the directory enabled apps installed (such as Outlook), will determine which ones are more tolerant than others. Outlook isn't
    too tolerant. Restarting Outlook will make it pickup another DC for its DSProxy.
    The operating system itself has its quirks with this, too.
    If one DC or DNS goes down, does a client logon to another DC or use the other DNS server in the NIC?

  • A linked list question.

    So, I believe I understand linked lists for the most part, except for two lines....
        boolean add(Transaction item)
            for (Transaction curr = first; curr != null; curr = curr.next)
                if (curr.part_num == item.part_num)
                    return false;
            Transaction newItem = new Transaction();
            newItem.transcode = item.transcode;
            newItem.description = item.description;
            newItem.part_num = item.part_num;
            newItem.quantity = item.quantity;
            newItem.next = first;
            first.next = newItem;
            return true;
        }first is null, so First.next would be the first available space for actual insertion, and this is why it then puts null as newItem.next (the end of the list), and sticks newItem in first.next?
    Im glad I read that pass by value thing earlier at the Java Ranch place...
    Heres my actual question: When newItem.next = first; is called, it just copies null as the next field, but leaves the null in first alone right? And then it takes first.next and makes newItem copy into that field, thus inserting the first real item in the list?
    Please tell me I made that connection right. :-D
    Thanks!!

    Pictures are worth a hundred words with linked lists. Did you even put a pencil and paper next to your computer while doing this program, so that you could draw what is happening when you get confused?
    If first is null, then the for loop is skipped--because first is assigned to curr and the loop only executes when curr is not equal to null.
    So, this happens:
    newItem = new Transaction()
    int Transcode = 0
    String description = null
    int partNumber = 0
    int quantity = 0
    Tranasaction next = nullThen values are assigned to each field:
    newItem
    int Transcode = 10
    String description = "screw"
    int partNumber = 46
    int quantity = 200
    //freeze execution here:
    Tranasaction next = null (what will happen here??)Your assumption was:
    Transaction first = null
    That means first does not refer to a Transaction object. Therefore, first does not have a description member, a quantity member, etc., and this is what things look like just before newItem.next = first; is executed:
    newItem ----> Transaction
                  int Transcode = 10
                  String description = "screw"
                  int partNumber = 46
                  int quantity = 200
                  Tranasaction next = null
    first ------> nullNow,
    When newItem.next = first; is calledthings change to this:
    newItem ----> Transaction
                  int Transcode = 10
                  String description = "screw"
                  int partNumber = 46
                  int quantity = 200
          /-------Tranasaction next
    first ------> null That isn't what you want. When you add() a Transaction object to the end of your linked list, it's next member should be null. It's the end of the chain, so there is no next.
    And then it takes first.next and makes newItem copy
    into that field, thus inserting the first real item in the
    list?No. first is null so it does not refer to a Transaction object, and therefore there is no next member variable and consequently no such thing as first.next. You need to understand that null and a Transaction object that has 0 for every member are not the same.
    But suppose for a minute that null and a Transaction object with zeros for every field were the same thing, so that first.next existed. If that was the case, then you could assign newItem to first.next. But, then you would be left with this:
    first
    int Transcode = 0
    String description = null
    int partNumber = 0
    int quantity = 0
    Tranasaction next = newItemWould you want the first Transaction object in your LinkedList to be almost entirely empty?
    Instead, if first is null, you want to make first refer to newItem, i.e. you want to do this:
    newItem ----> Transaction
                  int Transcode = 10
                  String description = "screw"
                  int partNumber = 46
                  int quantity = 200
                  Tranasaction next = null
    first ----/   nullThen when the add() method ends, since newItem is a local variable, it will be destroyed leaving you with this:
                  Transaction
                  int Transcode = 10
                  String description = "screw"
                  int partNumber = 46
                  int quantity = 200
                  Tranasaction next = null
    first ----/   null

  • Linked Lists Question

    this is kinda AP, so anyone who helps is really really appreciated. Its not hard if u already know the material.
    OK, add a middle node,
    remove the front, tail, and middle node
    use methods for adding and removing nodes
    here's what I already have
    public class link {
    public int value; //value of element
    public link next; //reference to next
    //contructor
    public link(int v, link n)
    value = v;
    next = n;
    public static void main(String args[])
    //prints out values
    link head = null;
    for(int i = 1; i<=10; i++){
    head = new link(i, head);
    link h = head;
    while (h!= null) {
    System.out.println(h.value);
    h = h.next;
    so u have to add a couple methods for adding and removing the nodes.

    so u have to add a couple methodNO! You have to add the methods because it is your assignment not ours. If you have a specific question then by all means, do ask.

  • MBP fan behavior question

    Hi,
    Looking to (finally) upgrade my Powerbook G4. This is a very quiet machine, and the fans only kick in when editing video, playing games, etc. So I am wondering...
    Is it true that the new Macbook Pro fans are on all the time? Are there any models which don't run fans constantly?
    Thanks.
    JP

    Logicboard failure may be more due to people not understanding how the cable ports are right on the logicboard.
    Blame it on user behavior? Hmmm. Given the discussion about all the heat the MBP can potentially produce, I'd be more inclined to think along the terms of it being a heat issue. One of the problems with the G5 logic board was a problem where an area of the board (solder connection?) became damaged from repeated expansion due to heating up and cooling down. (Multiple users confirmed this issue and even demonstrated how heating the area up with a hair dryer would temporarily restore the connection.)
    If there is a problem, I would put my money on the logic board not being built hardy enough to withstand the extreme conditions of life in a laptop computer (rapid heating and cooling cycles).
    But anyway, AFAIK, that's all speculation in regards to recent MBP models. I'd be curious to see some links to discussions regarding problems people may be having with logic boards in these computers.

  • Dynamic Link complicated question

    This is the story.....
    1. I shot & edited a training session (many sessions - over 40 hours)
    2. I did minor editing in Premiere, used Dynamic Link to send to Encore, set up a first run title page with 8 links to the 8 chapters.(all end actions going back to the main menu)
    3. Burned a DVD for the client
    4. The client made notes for additional changes for me to edit.
    5. I went back into Premiere, made the editing changes (mostly increases in volume from audience questions, removing some comments, etc.)
    Now... If I try and use Dynamic link again to "re-send" to Encore, my only choice is a new project... I cannot send using Dynamic link to an existing project (or if I can, I do not know how)
    I know one work around is to encode from Premiere, then open a Encore project, import as a timeline.... & author away....
    This way, If I go back to Premiere, make editing changes, export back out WITH THE SAME FILE NAME.... when I open the existing Encore project... everything is the same... except the timeline has the updated editing changes...
    The only problem is that on all 18 DVD's, I used dynamic link to send to Encore... so does that mean, (unless I use a work-around, like stated above), I have to re-author all 18 DVDs. I would think that even when using dynamic link, if you open the timeline again in Premiere, make editing changes, that the Encore project would reflect those changes (to make sure, I set the audio volume to 0 on the first 10 seconds in Premiere, saved the project & closed it, opened Encore, did a preview, the audio was still at the regular volume (no change).....
    Any suggestions...
    Or should I just once again use dynamic link, start a new Encore project, re-author (& basically do the same thing over)?
    Or should I do it the other way, encode from Premiere, (you know the rest), I do believe that all the editing changes have been made (according to the client)
    Or, is there some way from Premiere to use Dynamic link to send to an existing Encore project?
    David Kelley

    I didn't read all your note carefully.
    In your previous Encore project for DVD 1 (or whatever), right click on the "asset" for the timeline (the asset for a dynamic link is the Premiere sequece, not the Encore timeline that was created), and pick "revert to original." It should pick up your changes from Premiere.
    Note that to update markers, you must select the video in the Encore timeline itself, right click, "update markers from source." You will lose all previous markers. If you created the markers in Encore, you must update manually.

  • Default link behavior is rather annoying

    Safari seems to be the only browser that doesn't open links in a new tab and doesn't provide an option to set the behavior. I've been told its an option on the mac version but the only option is to control when you click links on the windows version. Why the **** is there no option to send links to a new tab? It gets rather annoying when using something like google reader in which you open a lot of links.
