Link to launch portlet

I'm just a beginner at this and need a link to launch a portlet. So far the best I've come up with is for it to launch in the portlet preview. I would prefer it to appear as a community page (without there actually being a page), so we can maintain the navigation, or in a plain window. I've hunted for a parameter to do this, but no luck so far.

there are no tags to include a portlet.
with that said there is a PortletServlet used for floating a portlet or running a portlet on it's own
you may want to try getting a hold of the request dispatcher and including the content of this servlet inside your JSP.

  • Pages Launcher Portlet - overriding header css

So I got Pages installed and I added the Launcher Portlet to one of our community pages.
When I click the "Dashboard" link I get booted out of a community object and redirected to something else which ends up swapping style sheets (apparently) which is totally destroying our custom portlet header since it heavily relies on the style sheet.
    Has anyone else encountered this?
Any feedback on a way to make this more usable without reverting back to the out-of-the-box style sheet?
(I admit I haven't read the admin guide yet! It must be covered in there!)

  • Click on link in one portlet and open in another portlet

how do you click on link in one portlet and open in another portlet?

Hrmm... This is a IBM Question..
Officially this is a meaningless buzzword promoted by IBM. Portals are some sort of Servlet but IBM incapable of explaining how they differ from ordinary Servlets. Some speculate they are used to present a webpage with many services on it such as a search engine, and news that come from diverse sources. The user is able to dynamically configure the contents and layout of the page much like Netscape home pages
I don't understand what yhour asking..
I am assuming you want to call another servlet (portlet)? That would be absurd to do .. You let the HTTP request and XML file to deal with the response of the portlet

  • Links to launch Script Editor no longer work

Links to launch Script Editor no longer work.

I don't know, I just use a very simple Applescript to enclose the clipboard in tags that allow the user to launch Script Editor from the browser:
set the clipboard to "<a href=applescript://com.apple.scripteditor?action=new>Click here to launch Script Editor</a>.
    <pre class=COMMAND>" & return & (the clipboard) & return & "</pre>"
And it wraps the script on the clipboard on PRE tags so the structure is preserved. Neither of those work now.

  • How to change the color of the links inside a portlet ?

    Hi,
I have to apply a css into one of the portlets of my page. Since I thought it would not be easy I figured out that the only thing the client cares is the color of the links inside the portlet. The portlet has a bunch of links and these link should be blue and 12pt. Does somebody know how to do that ?
    Thanks,
    Rafael.

    Change hyperlink color:
There are about 50 predefined styles with each template. They are modifiable. Hyperlink is one of the styles.
    Follow this process:
    • In your document select a word of text, any word will do.
    • Style it the way you want your hyperlinks to look.
    • Show Styles Drawer from the View menu.
    • Find the Hyperlink style in the drawer and right-click on it.
    • Select - Redefine Style from Selection - in the pop-up menu.
That's it. You've changed the hyperlink style for this book.

  • Link to another portlet  with a different layout

    Hello
Can somebody point me how to create a link in one portlet which opens
another portlet with a different layout.
I have portlet one in a 3 column layout, I want to open portlet 2 in a
    single column layout.
    TIA
    Gowtham.

Do you sync to the same computer which has both your and her purchases on ? If you do then she should be able to sync them to her phone from it.
If you use different computers then you could copy them from your computer to her computer (if they are not on your computer then you could re-download them on it). You can find where they are stored on your computer by right-clicking (control-click on a Mac) one of them in the Apps part of your iTunes library and selecting 'show in explorer' ('finder' on a Mac). You can then copy them to, for example, a flashdrive and then add them (you will need to authorise your account via the Store > Authorise This Computer menu option) to her computer's iTunes via File > Add To Library and she can then sync them.
If you log into your account on her phone or her computer and re-download those apps on it then you risk tying the phone or computer to your account for 90 days : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627

  • Links inside a portlet

    Hi,
I've got 4 links inside a portlet, i woulld like to target each link to the same portlet.
Basically,i want this links to open inside a portlet.
    <netui:anchor action="Week">|Week</netui:anchor>
    <netui:anchor action="DayofWeek" >|Day of Week</netui:anchor>
    <netui:anchor action="TimeOfDay" >|Time Of Day</netui:anchor>
    <netui:anchor action="AccidentType">|Accident Type</netui:anchor>

    Hi Caroline
You should install and use the "Url Services". I have the same need. But I can't succesffuly install the URLServices, I then get a lot of timeout errors when browsing the portal. I don't know when I'll have time to work on that, but that's the way you should work around.

  • Link for Launching Collaboration Launch Pad

    Hello,
At the moment I configure the Minimal Basic Configuration for Collaboration. I want to activate the link for launching the Collaboration Launch Pad. I did all steps but I don't find the link. I know that a link have to be in masthead.
Does this mean that there should be "Collaboration" near "Content Administration", "Content Management" and so on? I don't see a link "Collaboration". What I could do?
Kind regards and thanks in advance
    Susanne Baumann

    Hi Susanne,
If you have changed your framework page, then you should make that
change there also.Because as per the master rules, you will be using
a specific framework page for your id. That can be verified in ur master rules.
So if that is the framework which  you have customised , then this change will have to be made there also.
    Hope its fine now.
    Regards
    Vineeth

  • Link to another portlet

Hello, how can I make a link to another portlet? Both portlets resides in the same project. We run 9iAS 9.0.2.3.

    Ok, I will try it.
    <br><br>
Nx = Link in the navigation
    <br>Px = Portlet
    <br><br>
The first site (with active link N2, that means this site will display by clicking N2):
    <br><br>
    N1 P1 P2 P3
    <br><b>N2</b> P4 P5 P6
    <br>N3
    <br>N4
    <br><br>
The second site (with active link N3):
    <br><br>
    N1 P7 P8 P9
    <br>N2 P10 P11 P12
    <br><b>N3</b>
    <br>N4
    <br><br>
Now, will be set a link in a portlet (eg. P2) in the first site to forward to the second site, that means by clicking P2 of the first site it will be display the second site.<br>
I hope this explanation is a little bit better.
    <br><br>Bye Oliver

IE if my link i want to open is www.google.com when i cllick on the link in the new bowser I get http://localhost:7001/wepApp/www.google.com
Does anyone know how to stop the http://localhost:7001/wepApp/ being added, before i throw myself out of the window.
    Thanks Chris

    Hi Chris
I have same scenario on my side. I have Navigations Link Portlet that shows all our Corporate Web Sites links. This is stored in CMS System with one type. This is Pageflow based portlet. In Pageflow I get all Content for this links and store in request object. Then in JSP retrieve from request object and show them as links. Here is the jsp code snippet. Values are like http://www.msn.com, http://www.yahoo.com etc. I do have portlet for this pageflow that uses this jsp code snippet. So its from a Portlet.

  • IFrames keeping the links inside the portlet frame

    Hi All,
I have installed the iFrame portlet, and tested with the technet.oracle.com portlet. Why do the links on this portlet open up in the whole window rather than stay within the boundaries of the portlet? Isn't that the point of iFrame? I tried to add in
    <convertTarget>false</convertTarget>
    and
    <inlineRendering>true</inlineRendering>
to the provider.xml, but I got errors each time saying there is no set or add method for them in
    Class oracle.portal.provider.v1.RenderManager
is there any way I can keep the links inside the frame, or do I have to create a html portlet and manually put in an iframe tag?
    Thanks, Sarah

It simply does not work! We have tried using iFrames and URLservices with inline rendering and the links always open in the same browser window but outside the portlet. This is getting very frustrating as every post we read has a different solution but none work.
And yes we have specified inlineRendering and convertTarget in the provider and yes the samples work but they don't open in the portlet. According to 2 threads in the forums, it should work now but it does not.

Textboxes, widget, layers can be used to be anchors :
a textbox: eg "Get in touch" http://web.me.com/julianneef/Testsite/Home.html#id15 (The textbox with "Get in touch" had an identification number in source: id15)
a widget: eg your "Google Maps" widget http://web.me.com/julianneef/Testsite/Home.html#widget0
    a layer:
    -> 1. back to the top ([#bodycontent|http://web.me.com/julianneef/Testsite/Home.html#bodycontent])
    -> 2. header (#header_layer)
    -> 3. menu (#nav_layer)

  • Link about Content Portlet Suite 11g Release installation guide

    Hi All,
Does anyone know the link to get the installation guide for Content Portlet Suite 11g release.

    Hi
I too had this issue initially but in my case I had missed out on the following steps :
    1.
From a command-line, launch the WebLogic Scripting Tool (WLST), for example:
    WLS-HOME/as11r1wc/common/bin/wlst.sh
    Note:
The WebLogic Scripting Tool (WLST) is a command-line scripting environment that you can use to create, manage, and monitor WebLogic Server domains. Refer to the Oracle Fusion Middleware Oracle WebLogic Scripting Tool document for more information.
    2.
After the WebLogic Scripting Tool initializes, type connect() and press Enter.
    3.
You are prompted to enter the username, password and Admin server URL. Enter these values and press Enter.
    4.
Once connected to the server, run the following command to register your WSDL:
    registerWSRPProducer('webcenter','Provide_Any_Name_for_WSDL_Handle','Your_WSDL>',timeout=500)
    For example:
    registerWSRPProducer('webcenter','StellentWSRP','http://Host_Name:Port/cps/portlets/wsrp1?WSDL',timeout=500)
    Referencing Your Content Server
The following WLST commands should be used to create, delete, and reset an Oracle Content Server connection:
    Note:
The custom managed server on which CPS is deployed and the WLS_Spaces server must be restarted after executing the following commands for the changes to take effect.
Run the following WLST command to create an Oracle Content Server connection:
    createJCRContentServerConnection('CPS_Application_Name', 'CSConnection', socketType='socket', serverHost='Content_Server_Host', serverPort='Content_Server_Port')
For example (if the CPS application name is StellentPortlets):
    createJCRContentServerConnection('StellentPortlets', 'CSConnection', socketType='socket', serverHost='192.0.2.250', serverPort='4444')
Run the following WLST command to delete an Oracle Content Server connection:
    deleteConnection(appName='CPS_Application_Name', name='CSConnection')
Run the following WLST command to reset an existing Oracle Content Server connection:
    setJCRContentServerConnection('CPS_Application_Name', 'CSConnection', socketType='socket', serverHost='New_Content_Server_Host', serverPort='New_Content_Server_Port')
Run the following WLST command to list the existing Oracle Content Server connections:
    listJCRContentServerConnections(appName='CPS_Application_Name')
See if you too have missed to follow the above mentioned steps and if so then complete it to see if the issue still persists .
    Hope this helps
    Thanks
    Srinath

  • With no Firefox window open, I can't launch a new one. Or click on an email link and launch a window. This started when I upgraded to 5. Now I downgraded to 4 again and problem persists

I upgraded to Firefox 5, then noticed when a window was open I couldn't launch another one. Or launch into Firefox off an email link. Or open a new window if there was none open.
So I downgraded back to 4. Problem persists.

Uninstall the ones you know about, yes.
As regards the others, it's difficult to say. All you can do is to disable them all via Safe Mode (checkmark "Disable all add-ons", then "Make changes and restart") and then re-enable them one by one checking each time until the problem recurs. Laborious I know, but the only sound way of doing it I'm afraid.
