Linking files into a project

probably my last question..
i'm finishing my project..
i would know..if i start it in a standalone CD from my
EXE..then..how can i do to link and navigate by other files?? i
could link the CP files, the SWF files or the EXE files?
i linked the CP files and then...when i publish...the project
links the EXE files and so the XP title of the window is that of
the file linked and not more that of the project..could i change
it??
and then..
in my files there are FLV files included..when i publish my
work have i to leave in the root the FLV files??
thank a lot for your patience,
ivano

Hi, I've had this issue for a while but have finally cracked
the nut. I could link the files OK standalone, but when i uploaded
to an LMS - no joy. The secret is in the Javascript and the types
of links that call the files. They have to be universal links
otherwise, by default they will search in a local directory. Using
this method, you can produce a file of 20MB, break it up into say,
10 seperate 2MB modules, then voila! Course runs beautifully smooth
on any size network link.
Cheers

  • Importing Map Files into a Project

    Hello,
The programmers at my job create map files, and when map
files are sent to me, they're sent in a format that includes hex
values (e.g.: 0x1177E). I've noticed map files that were imported
in other help projects have this format:
    #define ID_Size 1001
Out of curiousity, do map files have to be in the above
format before importing them into a help project, or can RoboHelp
perform a conversion to the above format once map files are
    imported?
Since I receive map files from programmers, do they need to
convert the map files to the above format before sending them to
    me?
I found something in the Knowledge Base Guided Search on
this, but I want to know if anyone knows of a new process that may
be in the latest version (X5) of RoboHelp.
    Thanks,
    Felicia

    Hi John,
Thanks for your response. These are a few map IDs/map numbers
and how they appear in one of the map files given to me by a
    programmer:
    HID_SELECTION 0x10005
    HID_SNAPS_CANCEL 0x10006
    HID_TOOLBARS_PRINT 0x10007
    HID_T_FITTING_MANIFOLD 0x11AB2
I wonder, according to what's stated in the Help for
RoboHelp, if the map ID should appear like this before I import the
    map file into a project:
    #define HID_SELECTION 0x10005
    or:
    #define HID_SELECTION 65541
Does the "#define" have to be in front of the map ID and map
number before the import takes place?

  • How to add one poi jar file into webdynpro project

    Hi all:
We would like to add one poi jar file into one webdynpro project, however, what should we do ?
Its one external 3rd party jar file.

    Hi,
To add a jar file you need to have an external library DC.
Hope the below link will help you:

  • Exporting linked files into published .exec

I have a problem in exporting any linked files I have added
as click boxes into the published .exec file.
In my project I have linked HELP pages where relevant and
inserted the URL link into the click box. It all works great when I
am on my network, but once off, the linked files are not there.
When publishing the project, a popup box says that I need to
"copy all referenced files and projects with their
corresponding HTML files to the output folder". But I do
not know how to do this.

    Rick -
    Let's revisit this question, please?
In my scenario, I created a button linking to a PDF reference
file. I put the file in the same directory as the final Captivate
published .exe file. The problem is that Captivate is holding onto
the logical path to the file, which works great if everyone is on
    my network or computer.
No matter what you do, once you take those files off your
computer/network and hand them to a customer, any links to local
file contained on the delivery medium is broken.
For example, the .exe, reference PDF, and menu are burned to
a CD and delivered to the customer. and the customer is running the
.exe but when he attempts to open the PDF, nothing happens. Of
course, I pop the CD in and it works great for me - because I can
see the path to the published location, prior to burning the CD.
We notice that accomplishing the same action in the menu
builder doesn't produce the same result: The user can open the file
contained on the delivery medium just fine. That code seems to
recognize the virtual path rather than the logical one.
I think this is a bug in the software. Captivate is designed
to be able to publish standalone files. By definition, standalone
means that the links to external files should not be dependent on
    the hard path.

  • Problem when importing several (2,3 or 4) video files into one project.

Im creating a project video with several videos running at the same time in one screen.  Sort of like a surveillance with different videos but for some reason one of the video file seems to change from 45 seconds to 3 minutes.  When all of the video files are 45 seconds but after effects seems to put that video file into 3 minutes.  I even deleted the file and imported another video just like it and it works fine until I open the project again.  I am using AE CS4.

I hope I did this correct.  The first link shows the video length of the videos, this is how it is suppose to be.  Then the second link shows the problem in which one of the videos after (after effects) is closed and then opened again.  One of the video seems to malfunction and shows that it is longer then 45 seconds.  I tried to delete it and open up another one... and then another video seems to malfunction.

  • Importing .htm files into RoboHelp project

In my project in RoboHelp, when I go to File > Import > HTML File… to add a .htm file to my project, it locks up on me instead of providing a directory listing allowing me to select files to add to my project.  The only way to get out of it is to go to the Task Manager and killing the process.

    Hi there
Your use of "The Vault" would seem to most certainly describe some form of a Source Control system. Source Control systems offer a combination between a Librarian and a Traffic Cop. Typically you log into these systems with a user ID and a password. That way the system knows who you are.
Typically with these systems the data resides on a coroporate network. And also typically you will have a "working folder" on your hard drive where the files exist. When everything is checked into the Source Control system, the files on your hard drive are flagged as "Read Only".
When you need to work with a file, you perform a process of checking out. The Source Control system then changes the Read Only status of the file on your hard drive to Read/Write. But it also makes a note of the date/time stamp. If the file stored in Source Control is newer than the counterpart on your hard drive, it copies the newer file to your hard drive before allowing you to make changes.
I'd begin with a simple sanity check. Create a totally separate and new project. Add a topic or three. Add an image. Generate. Do things work okay? If not, you have some form of issue with RoboHelp that needs to be resolved before you attempt to troubleshoot what is happening with your project in Source Control.
Perhaps try copying the content from Source control to a different folder and see if you are then able to make edits.
Hopefully something here either helped directly or sparked a thought that does.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Can you place linked files into Photoshop CS4?

If you place a .psd or .tif file into an InDesign file, you are alerted if any changes are made to that file (as I'm sure most of you know). Is there any way to do this within Photoshop? I have several dozen carpet sample .tif files that are to be used in several hundred "montage" type "carpet sample groups" layered .psd files that will then be saved as images for the web (does that make sense?). Is there any way to do this so that if there's a change in the original .tif file it will automatically change any .psd file in which it's being used? I know the easiest way to do this is in InDesign, but I have two problems: 1) the conversion from InDesign to a web image is laborious, and 2) the person doing the work does not know InDesign at all. I can show him how to use it, but that's a small part of the battle.
Any suggestions? I'm using CS4 for Windows.
    Thanks,
    Lloyd

Thanks for your comments. The problem arises because we have to create that intermediate Photoshop step.
We have, say, a dozen individual carpet swatches that are used to create hundreds of combinations (which are all separate layered .psd files). If one swatch changes (color, for example), then we have to open every .psd file in which that swatch appears and change it (or place the changed one). I'd love to be able to change the original and have it update every layered file in which it appears, just like InDesign does with placed/linked files.
    Maybe there's a plug-in (wishful thinking)?
Also, I'd really like to have it changed in the web development end of things, but we're working with a company that is (obviously) using templates and we can only give them single images, hence the need to create the intermediate Photoshop files.

  • How can I import a .AVI file into my project?

I want to import a .AVI file into my video project but Final Cut Pro will not import it. Final Cut says the file is not recognized but it plays with Quicktime.

    DJ OZA,
Do you get the warning "Media files are not optimized for FCP. Either recapture the media or use Media Manager to crate new copies of the files to improve performance for multi-stream playback."?
    What does this mean?
I can import and edit the files no problem either, except for that waring, which concerns me.
It means you will not be able to use the multiclip feature with these files because your Macintosh is working very hard to decode them on the fly. More than one stream will choke your machine.
Your AVIs are visible in FCP because you happen to have acquired an AVI file that uses a codec you have available on your machine.
AVI isn't even supported by Microsoft; it's been a totally concatenated delivery wrapper for more than a decade. It only survives because of entrenchment.
Use Get INfo on one of your AVI clips, figure out what codec was used, use Google to find out what you can about the codec, and decide how you want to proceed. You want to determine what your output is going to be and work backwards from that decision. For instance, if you're going to distribute a standard MPEG2 DVD, you want to edit using conventional DV. Transcode you AVI files to DV using Compressor.
Your easiest solution will be to edit on a PC that does handles the AVI natively or to contact whoever gae you the files and demand they provide you with clips you can edit on a Macintosh.

  • How to import one project file into another project file

In previous versions I could take an 8 track project file and drag it into another project.  This doesn't work in version 10.  I am playing multi track stems for worship.  I create each song as it's own file then drag them together to create a set.  I don't mix down since I want to be able to add or subtract an instrument based on who may or may not be avaiable that day.  Has this feature been taken out of Version 10?  Can you do this in either Logic or Mainstage?

  • Adding the wrong file into your project.  How do i recover

Did you ever work on a project and for some reason store audio files in the wrong location or move so your project does not play back correctly.
    I just did that.
Basically I found the right files and where there located but one of the files I found and added back, seems to be the wrong file. The problem is now that I told logic were to locate the file it saves it automatically. How do I click on a different audio file from another location, and put it in place (same location) of where the change need to be made.
    Hope i didn't confuse anyone.

You are using 'Save As Project' aren't you? If not, you should, and set the copy options to taste, but certainly your unique files for that project. Also check out the manual about 'Consolidate' Projects.
Having done that, if you have a region in your arrangement with the wrong audio file, then delete it, and pencil tool-shift-click where you want it to be. A file dialog will open from which you can pick the correct file. It will load where you clicked.
Be careful when you clean up projects, or select-delete unused from the audio window, in case you delete a file used in another song. Always better to have too many copies than not enough…

  • Can't drag and drop iMovie files into iDVD project

I created a bunch of iMovie projects, went through the share/media browser process. They show up as icons in iDVD but when I try to drag and drop them, I don't get the green plus sign and they don't drop. I've tried both widescreen and standard settings, in both iMovie and iDVD, matching them up - still won't drop.

What's the path to the file? Is it on an external drive? A network drive? A mapped drive? Can you try copying the file to your desktop and dragging it from there?
It's on an external e-sata drive. No problem accessing the file from within Premiere.  Just can't drop it into Encoder. Doesn't work if I drag to desktop and try from there either.
Are you dragging it in from Windows Explorer? If not, then what app are you dragging from?
    Yes, from Explorer.
Are you dragging the actual clip or a shortcut to it?
    Actual clip.
Have you tried importing via File > Add Source...? [Double-clicking a blank spot in the Queue gets you to the same Open dialog.]
Yep, tried that.  No luck.  Double clicking and adding didn't work either.
Definitely only seems to be QT files.  Have tried H264 files from 7D camera and ProRes files.  No luck.  Files that are MP4 work fine.

  • In and out from FCP brings entire source file into audio project

In FCP I have created in and out in the Viewer from a source clip, done an overwrite edit into the timeline. When I "send to" Sound Track Pro from Final Cut Pro from the timeline, Sound Track Pro opens with markers at the beginning and end of the audio track. The markers are where the in and out points are in the timeline in Final Cut Pro. However, if I scroll left and right, the entire source clip is in Sound Track Pro, not just the in and out from the affiliated clip in the timeline. How can I make only the audio from between the in and out on the timeline only come over into Soundtrack Pro as opposed to the entire source clip? Is there a setting somewhere?

I'm not having that problem, exactly but something similar. I find that a multitrack project sent to STP from FCP opens find, but when I open an individual file in the waveform, I don't get just the part of the clip I had in FCP (and had in the multitrack), but rather the whole clip before I made in and out points.
Is anyone else having problems like we're having?

Does any body guide me what could be the possible problem? or how to resolve it?
