Linux Error: 113: No route to host
After completeing 3.1 in the installation guide I jump down to chapter 4, but I can't get the web interface to work.
It doesn't matter how I access the URL, I've tried both http://localhost:8080/htmldb and http://realhostname:8080/htmldb/ with same result, no data at all, the connection is closed directly.
I've checked listener.log and found this:

Problem located (as usual after the 3 hours it took me to find the forum and post about it).
Using netstat and lsof I found that XE not only binds to 1521 and 8080, but also to port 33172 and since iptables blocks everything it got "No route to host".
The question is if 33172 is static or just a randomly chosen port number.

GoldenGate extract issue - TCP/IP error 113 (No route to host)
Hi All,
I have created a new replicat process on a new server. The old server is to be de-commissioned. after I created the replicat process on the new server (I copied the replicat prm file from the existing server - which is to be de-commissioned to new server and changed old encrypted password with new one and DISCARDFILE location), I modified the extract parameter file on source server. I changed RMTHOST and RMTTRAIL from older server name to new server name and old location to new location. once done , I stopped the extract and ran below command:
ADD RMTTRAIL /u01/app/ggs/dirdat/db, EXTRACT Ext1
and then started the extract process after which I am getting this error:
*2012-03-16 02:24:39 GGS ERROR 150 TCP/IP error 113 (No route to host).*
*2012-03-16 02:24:39 GGS ERROR 190 PROCESS ABENDING.*
I can very well ping both servers from both source and target. Any thoughts?
-Onkargot the answer. It was firewall issue. When i turned the firewall down "service iptables stop", everything was smooth. I have raised request with the proper team to add the source ip in the target system firewall.

on vmware , we have z box call rman.blobin.biz
I have installed RMNDB on it on port 1571 . listener is also running on this.
I am able to do sqlplus rman/rman@RMNDB.
rman.blobin.biz tnsnames.ora for this DB has following entries.
RMNDB =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = rman.blobin.biz)(PORT = 1571))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = RMNDB)
MODEV =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = moprddb01.blobin.biz)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = MODEV)
from this box I am able to do tnsping RMNDB as well as tnsping MODEV
there is a box moprddb01.blobin.biz which has MODEV
from that box I cna do tnsping MODEV but noy tnsping RMNDB and sqlplus rman/rman@RMNDB.
It gives me error as
ERROR:
ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
I worked with Oracle and generated Trace.
sqlnet.log is showingLinux 113 error.
Oracle is saying :
You will need to work with your local network admin and sys admin to find out what the problem
is with accessing the rman.blobin.biz node. The restrcition is occurring at the TCP layer as i
ndicated by the Linux 113 error.
we dont have onsite any Linux export or support. I set with network guy we checked port, firewall. it didnt show any issue.
I am really stuck very badly. as there is no Linux guy .
I need to do tnsping RMNDB from MODEV database box.
Any help will be appreciated.Script started on Thu 24 Apr 2008 08:19:31 AM EDT

UDPWritePacket error 65 No route to host for -64.168.0.104
Hi,
When ARD 3 is active I see a continuous stream of the above message in Console.
The IP belongs to VeriSign. Does anyone know what ARD is doing with VeriSign?
I hope this isn't a snoop.I am seeing this as well, but it is for numerous addresses. The -64 appears to be an artifact somehow appearing instead of 192 (as in 192.168). So I would guess that the computer you're seeing issues with is 192.168.0.104.
On mine, I'm seeing it with lots of computers, which is why I know the above. They all start with "-64.168.1." which, if the -64 were a 192, would be my subnet scheme.
I just did a count, and in the past 10 minutes, I has 30 entries in my log... from six distinct IPs. I just went to look up what computers were at those IPs, and... they don't appear in my ARD scanner. So, I looked them up in my All Computers list, and it turns out that they are all laptops which are in "All Computers" but which are currently not on my LAN.
So I would hazard a guess that this is an innocuous log entry that is informing you that ARD is attempting to see if various computers in your list have shown up on the LAN since last time it looked for them.
To validate... is 192.168.0.104 on your LAN a laptop or otherwise unconnected machine?

Hi,
I needed to add vlans on the bladecenter, So added to ports on the bladecenter and then to the main trunk port of BC as well as i created the vlan on BC.
This BC connects to two main NEXUS 7010 core switch, I added to trunk port of these switches as well and vlan was already created in the nexus core switch.
but i was unable to ping the subnet gateway from the nexus core switch and gets the error as "no route to host"
Is this something there is no routing define for this subnet. As OSPF is running on the core switch.
Thanks
SagarThanks Alex
VLAN was allowed on the trunk, everything related vlan is fine.
but there was no static route defined on the switch as the routing for the subnet was done on the firewall
so what i thought is to give a static route for network with next hop as firewall interface and guess what it started to work
Thanks

No route to host:connect -- error in the struts-config.xml file
hi all,
acutally am doing a struts application in that i have written everything properly
but getting this kinda no route to host:connect error
my struts-config.xml file is like this...
<struts-config>
<form-beans>
<form-bean name="myForm" type="MyForm">
</form-beans>
<action-mappings>
<action path="/action"
name="myForm"
type="MyAction"
scope="request"
validate="true" >
<forward name="success" path="/success.jsp" />
<forward name="failure" path="/failure.jsp" />
</action>
</action-mappings>
</struts-config>
sikandarHi Lee,
I am working on Oracle ADF 10.1.2 and getting the same problem. The lines in my struts-config.xml are as below:
<action path="/unitsView" className="oracle.adf.controller.struts.actions.DataActionMapping" type="view.UnitsViewAction" name="DataForm" parameter="/unitsView.uix" unknown="false">
<set-property property="modelReference" value="unitsViewUIModel"/>
<forward name="unitsEditLink" path="/unitsEdit.do"/>
</action>
<action path="/unitsView" className="oracle.adf.controller.struts.actions.DataActionMapping" type="view.UnitsViewAction" name="DataForm" parameter="/unitsView.uix" unknown="false">
<set-property property="modelReference" value="unitsViewUIModel"/>
<forward name="unitsCreateLink" path="/unitsCreate.do"/>
</action>
I have two lines with [action path="/unitsView"]. The reason why is that I want the user to go to the form create screen for the create button and form edit screen for the edit button. If this does not work, it seems to mean that only a single screen can be used for create/edit functions. However, the ADF editor diagram looks perfectly to point to create.uix and edit.uix respectively.
Please shed some light.
Thanks,
Regards,

FTP receiver channel error: No route to host
Hello,
I am using a ftp receiver channel and got the following error:
java.lang.Exception: ftp access error: java.net.NoRouteToHostException: No route to host.
The following steps are processed right:
- Connection to FTP-Server "XXXX", Folder "/public_html/external/eh/"
- Write to FTP-Server "XXXX", Folder "/public_html/external/eh/", file "xyz.xml"
- Sending: Modus "TXT", Size XXX, Codepage UTF-8
And then the error occurs.
It seems that the channel could connect to the server and start sending the data, but then the error occurs.
Did anybody know this problem?
Thank you very much
ThomasHi Thomas -
Is your FTP server configured for active or passive data connections? If active, you need SP15. Before SP15, only passive data connections are supported.

NAT error: UDP OK but TCP = no route to host
I recently did a firmware update on my Airport Express and I think something has changed which is affecting file transfer speed. A NAT test shows UDP listen port 6881 is OK but when testing TCP listen port 6881 I get the following message:
NAT error: No route to host (173.19.148.196:6881)
I have Mediacom Cable and their provided modem is Touchstone Telephony Modem and my Airport Express is plugged into it to provide me a wireless connection (it has an IP address of 10.0.1.1).
I have a MacBook 4,1 Intel Core 2 Duo and run OS X v. 10.5.6. In Security settings my Firewall is OFF.
Can someone explain to me what I need to do to open the TCP port? Also, what is a UDP connection?
Thank youi had the same problem.
and i did the following steps
on vuze program
1) vuze -> preferences -> incoming tcp listen port (example 50123)
2) set the same port on UDP
after that you have to open tcp protocol (NAT -> virtual server) ... on your router and set start port as the same port as you already set in vuze (ex. 50123)... and an end port (ex. 50124)
be careful as local ip address, you have to set the same ip in the tcp protocol settings with the ip that your macbook uses to connect to the internet. you can find the ip on system preferences --> web--> and get the information.
I hope to help you and others with the same problem! -

Both the computers use j2sdk1.4.2_03
But when the client runs it gives the following error:

In this scenario we are just retrieving a String from the server. this
works well on One PC using localhost.
we found that you have encountered such problem earlier and might have
resolved it.
if you have any idea how to correct this problem please help us.

Remote RSS Feed consumption - no route to host
Hi all, I tried to embed an external RSS feed but always get the error that Service SS_GET_PAGE and Function getRssFeedForUrl cannot be performed due to System Error : No route to host. I guess that the server needs a proxy setting in order to connect to the external proxy. I cannot figure out how to configure the content server to retrieve those external URLs. Is there a specific config file to set the proxy value or do I have to set the proper environment variable on Linux (that was my first guess but I did not succeed). Thanks for any hint.
That could mean one of two things: either the default route is not set on the host giving this error message or IP packets destined to the target host can not be routed due to network misconfiguration.

External services moved, but SOA suite still gives "no route to host"
We have a SOA Suite integrating towards external services. The external service provider moved the services to a different server, and updated dns entries to reflect this move. But our SOA Suite gave "no route to host" errors when this move was performed, clearly not reloading the changes done in DNS, but still using the old address.
How and where can the SOA Suite be configured to actually time out domain name resolutions, when external services are moved this way. Can we ask it to use hostname instead of ip address.
Bouncing the servers is of course working, but there must be a configuraiton way around this.
bouncing production servers is the final resort.
