--------listner issue.....

i am facing a strange problem these. We have an oracle database version 10g release 2. there is a web application which are beign used by around 30 users.
Now the issue is that database is up and running, web application is up and running and is connected to datavase whenever a query is made, but i cannot connect to database using TOAD from another machine to my DB Server.
The database sid is orcl, and here is the entry on my laptop , tnsnames.ora file which toad used to connect to server but it is not connecting at all. instead it gives me an error
ORA-12154 TNS: could not resolve service name....
ORCLS =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 10.16.103.109)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = orcl)
i dont understand why this issue is there , because my webapplication is accessing the same database and has connected fine without error.
Urgen help required.

  • Listner issues in Oracle 11g server installation

    Hi,
    I am facing problem while connecting to Oracle 11g server on 'Windows 7 Enterprise edition - 32 bit OS'.
    I have successfully installed Oracle 11g server on Windows & enterprise machine.
    Listener and TNSnames.ora files are fine. But I am not able to connect through Oracle client machine. it shows 'TNS: Could not resolve the service name'.
    When I check the listener status on the server, it shows the service ABBPROD is READY, but still not able to connect through client machine. I have gone through many similar threads and tried out the solutions provided but the problem still exists. Few of the things I tried are as below.
    1. I have tried changing the ORACLE_SID and setting the $ORACLE_HOME parameter.
    2. Tried replacing the HOST as 'localhost' to system IP address/computer name
    3. Listener stop and start
    4. Service stop and start
    5. Checked the firewall settings of the server machine
    I shall paste the listener.ora and tnsnames.ora files below.

  • Having issue with Listner component in web.xml

    I have created a application listner class and mentioned it in web.xml file also.
    My idea is to connect to the database, get some information and display the same in login page. since we are using form based authenticaiton.
    I have put the code in listner class, when I run the app its not coming to this class at all. Do I have to do any other setting for this.
    when I run the app in debug mode its not stopping at the breakpoint which I have put in listner class.
    Please help me to solve this issue.

  • Issue with treetable selection listner in ADF

    Hi Experts,
    we are working on JDEV 11.1.1.2.
    here we have a tree table.
    Inorder to get the selected row data in a tree table we are using following code in backing bean.
    public void qaTableSelectList(SelectionEvent selectionEvent) {
    String selectedQaCode ="";
    RichTreeTable treeTable = (RichTreeTable)getQaReasontreeTable();
    RowKeySet _selectedRowData = treeTable.getSelectedRowKeys();
    Iterator rksIterator = _selectedRowData.iterator();
    while (rksIterator.hasNext()) {
    List key = (List)rksIterator.next();
    JUCtrlHierBinding treeTableBinding =
    (JUCtrlHierBinding)((CollectionModel)treeTable.getValue()).getWrappedData();
    JUCtrlHierNodeBinding nodeBinding =
    treeTableBinding.findNodeByKeyPath(key);
    selectedQaCode = nodeBinding.getAttribute(0);
    //use this var "selectedQaCode".
    Initailly this code are working fine for a long time
    Now suddenly its stopped working.
    some time its returning the selected value some times not.
    What will be the issue can any one suggest alternate solution.
    regards
    Gayaz

    It changed about 2-3 weeks ago.
    I haven't done anything to it at all. I just drag an mp3/wav, chop it, save it and I'm done, so I'm not sure why it would all of the sudden change
    It's also noteworth that I reinstalled it several times and it hasn't fixed it. Could it be left-over files from the initial install that weren't unistalled and remained, which affected the reinstall? If so, where would I find them?

    Hello;
    Script has to be run from auxiliary.
    Great details, but what I don't see is how you connect in RMAN.
    Example
    Start RMAN
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/rman target=sys/@recover2 auxiliary=sys/@reclone
    Recovery Manager: Release 11.2.0.2.0 - Production on Wed Feb 22 14:50:31 2012
    Copyright (c) 1982, 2009, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved.
    connected to target database: RECOVER2 (DBID=3806912436)
    connected to auxiliary database: RECLONE (not mounted)Nothing in your tnsnames or listener jumps out as wrong. I copied them into my text editor and compared against my working ones.
    Generally for active duplication I start the future standby on a pfile NOMOUNT.
    Auxiliary Instance Initialization Parameters Needed :
    DB_NAME
    CONTROL_FILES
    DB_BLOCK_SIZE
    ( add extra parameters like DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT and LOG_FILE_NAME_CONVERT instead of using the SET command - clean up standby spfile right after duplication )
    Then start RMAN and finally run a single line duplication command.
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/rman target=sys/@primary auxiliary=sys/@standby
    RMAN>duplicate target database for standby from active database NOFILENAMECHECK;Best Regards

    Hi
    Check this out.
    TNS-12560: "protocol adapter error"
    Cause: A generic protocol adapter error occurred.
    Action: Check addresses used for proper protocol specification.
    For further details, turn on tracing and reexecute the operation. Turn off tracing when the operation is complete.
    TNS-00530: "protocol adapter error"
    Cause: A generic protocol adapter error occurred.
    Action: For further details, turn on tracing and reexecute the operation.
    Proposed Solution on metalink.
    Solution Description:
    =====================
    Delete the protocols in your "listener.ora" file that you do not use.
    Edit the "listener.ora" file and look at the protocol section. Make sure that
    only the protocols that you use on your system are there (i.e., TCP, IPC, ...)
    and that there are no entries listed for SPX or NMP (named pipes).
    Regards
    Adnan
    Since you are only using TCP I don't think that is the issue. You should turn on tracing to get more details.

  • TNS-12541: No listner on Windows VISTA (oracle 10g client)

    Hi all,
    After installing an Oracle 10g Client for Windows Vista, when trying to connect to the database, i got the error No listner (TNS-12541). I checked the database listner but it's running and i can connect there from XP OS client. Does anybody have an idea about that.
    tnsping give the same error also but when i ping the server it gives response.
    Any body has experioenced the same problem, if yes could you help please it's very urgent.
    Thanks regards
    raitsarevo

    raitsarevo,
    First of all: it's not very urgent. Very urgent requests end up in a SR at http://metalink.oracle.com.
    Oracle doesn't support all editions of Vista and 10g may not even support Vista at all. Please refer to the download page for 10g at http://otn.oracle.com for further details.
    A non-supported edition of Mickeysoft usually results in Oracle Net issues.

  • Not able to resolve ORA-12154 issue

    Hi,
    have installed a Oracle 11g on a 64-bit Windows 2008R2 server. Installation based on logs was success full, however I do have some issues with getting TNS to work. I am able to TNSPING the server and it returns expected result, but when i try to connect via SQLPLUS (sqlpuls ora/ @srv1) it results in "ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified".
    We are in contact with the sid by bypassing TNSNAMES.ORA , but that does not resolve my issue since i need this to work.
    I have attempted some suggested changes to tnsnames.ora, sqlnet.ora and listner.ora with out success sofar.
    Hope some one has some suggestions on how to overcome this issue

    It looks like a kind of hardware damage, on the CCD or somewhere in the camera unit. Have you ever dropped it on the floor?
    Better go to your local Nokia Care for services if it is still under warranty, or buy a spare camera unit from eBay or Amazon then DIY to replace it.

    Are you talking about the Enterprise Manager Console provided by the oracle or some other enterprise software? If it is enterprise software then you need to the do the proper setting for network connection to database. Probably you will have to configure tnsname.ora and sqlnet.ora. Can you connect through SQL*Plus utility? Go to Run-->SQLPLUSW type in the username password and tnsnames entry for the database. See if you can connect. If not post us the error message.

  • OSB 10gR3 Performance Issue

    Hi Guys,
    I having some performance issue in OSB but i not sure where to tune the setting kindly provide me some ideas. Current project having 3 proxy services, 2 jms proxy, 4 business services and 2 jms business services.
    Scenario
    when one of the proxy having high loads, others request did not get the responses in other proxy as well. Why will this happens? Is it because the threads is occupied? the proxy that having high load is a asynchronous process. Proxy>>JMS Business (input Q) || (pickup Q)JMS proxy>>business service.
    Behavior
    1. When having lots of incoming request others services cannot be accessed.
    2. Server did not shows out of memory.
    3. When browsing the sbconsole and admin console, navigation is very slow it might time out as well.

    Hi there, before going to the workmanager, can anyone explain about the socket listner? It seems like my socket listner is fully occupied when load comming in.
    Basically it seems like not releasing the socket. Can i know by defult how the socket works in WLS? I am lost, because from my understanding, each socket is base on one connection means when it reach the JMS it will ends the process and close the listner. Then when JMS proxy picking the message in the queue will perform one by one means consume the socket one by one.
    For e.g:
    1. JMS proxy pick up message>"one socket consumed">send to business service > wait for respone > respone return >"socket close"
    2. JMS proxy pick up message>"one socket consumed">send to business service > wait for respone > respone return >"socket close"
    so each time will used only one socket per transaction am i rite?
    and i received below message from the domain log
    ####<Jul 20, 2010 3:50:25 PM SGT> <Warning> <Socket> <selbgixb50ut002> <CGISOSB_MS1> <[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '21' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <> <1279612225183> <BEA-000449> <Closing socket as no data read from it during the configured idle timeout of 5 secs>

    I am really lost. Recommanded setting for basic Ascync process needed, and i am using the default connection factory, will this cause the problem?
