Live action between premiere and audition

when I edit video's I usually use premiere pro and audition (both cs6)
but is there a easy way to combine those programms?
for example, when I import a video in my premiere timeline, the audio (maybe video to) will directly show up in audition.
Is there a way to do this or would it be an idea for a next version?

R click on a clip or a sequence and select "Edit in Adobe Audition".  The audio in your clips or sequence will be replaced by a new clip(s) with "extracted" added to its/their  name(s).
Extracting a sequence is a much quicker way than extracting large numbers of separate clips - you can edit each clip's audio separately once you are in Audition.
Note that only that part of the clip which is used in the timeline will be extracted for editing, so you may need to add handles. I sometimes create a new sequence with entire original clips in it when I want to edit the audio of a number of my clips..

I apologize for not being able to find this answer on my own but can anybody please answer this:  Can Adobe Premiere and Audition "Royalty Free" music files be used for "commercial" projects?

Are you using any version of Premiere Elements? Or, is it that you are really asking about some version of Premiere Pro and Audition?
If the latter, please refer to
    Premiere Pro
    Audition CS5.5, CS6 & CC
In the Adobe Premiere Elements Forum in which your thread has been posted, it has always been written by others (Bill Hunt, Steve Grisetti) that
Premiere Elements users can use Premiere Elements assets for commercial projects. I do not use Audition, so I cannot speak to the Audition situation.
We are a user to user forum here and not Adobe. The ultimate answers on this would be from Adobe itself to avoid what is written and what is written between

  • Question about Workflow between Premiere and After Effects

Hey guys, I have Production Premium CS5 (Premiere and AE)
One thing that has always confused me was basic workflow between these 2 products.  Is it best to get your clips, but them into sequence, do the basic effects that Premiere supports and output into the  highest quality video in order to take into AE and apply effects to?
Or should I take video footage, do my After Effects work, export that as a clip that will then be used in the video composition in Premiere?  I know I don't want to move a project too many times between because of compression, so what would the most optimized workflow be?
FYI, I am doing a lot of video game frag movies, so I have a lot of effects I like to put into it.

    Really?
I'm always amazed at Photoshop's cold boot startup time. On my rig it takes 8 seconds.  From a warm boot, Photoshop will start in 2-4 seconds.
This isn't the case with my video editing software though...
Sony Vegas 8.1 (looking to learn Premiere so I don't need this anymore - Cold Boot : 8 seconds, Warm Boot : 3 seconds)
After Effects (Cold Boot : 22 seconds, Warm Boot : 8 seconds)
Premiere (Cold Boot : 48 seconds, Warm Boot : 16 seconds)
Premiere seems to be a beast of a program; I'm rather surprised, I thought AE would be the more intense one.  Sorry, I haven't yet overcome my fears of losing projects/data because I'm running on a Windows machine.
It's half the reason why I have a Mozy account to backup my files to an online resource.

  • Best workflow between Premiere and Encore for subtitling...

    Hello All,
I switched from FCP and DVDS Pro to Premiere and Encore but having trouble to get the same workflow for the type of work we do here,
We deal with lots of foreign films that will be distributed on DVDs and streamed via places like Xbox, PSN and such.
We tried by starting by laying the final edit of the film in Premiere and placing subs.  We found out that there was no easy way to export the video track as an stl or compatible format so we outputted the film and used subrip to create an srt which worked ok when we brought it over to DVDSP but subrip always generates lots of bad text which has to be manually fixed.  I than decided lets try Encore cause it must be more compatible with Premiere for transferring info between the two but have not found a good way to do this yet.
What would be the best work flow between the two programs so you can create a DVD with subs and also have movie with a sub track that can be outputted for VOD besides having to do the work twice?  I am sure many production houses have this need.
Thank you all for reading and look forward to some ideas.  We are using CS6.
    -john

To the best of my knowledge, you will have to use a non-Adobe app for creating the subtitle file.  Once created, you'd bring that into Encore for disk creation.  I'm not sure you can create a file for VOD with subtitles using Adobe tools.  Encore can create Flash output, but that's probably not the best choice here.

  • Round trip workflow with proxies between Premiere and AE / a more general question about how these programs work?

    Hi all,
I'm new to editing with proxies in Premiere and have some questions about how to handle the relationship with After Effects. Say I have a rough cut (with proxies) and I want to send it to AE to do some effects. The simplest thing to do seems to be to replace the proxies with the originals in Premiere, send the project to AE and do my thing. But if I then want to send the project back to Premiere, it will involve the original files, which are too machine-intensive for me to edit. In theory, it seems like there should be a way to send the project with original footage to AE, do effects, send it back to Premiere, and then replace it with proxies to do further editing while retaining the effects.
This leads to a confusion about how AE works. When I do an effect, am I correct in assuming that it does nothing to the original file? If that's the case, it seems like it shouldn't matter (in the editing stage) what file AE "applies" an effect to (proxy or original). But I feel like there's a hitch in this workflow. The same question could also be asked about going back and forth in Speed Grade.
Perhaps there is no real answer to this and the best option is to save effects and grading for after I have picture lock, but sometimes that's not entirely possible or convenient, etc.
Hopefully this makes some sense—It's a little hard to explain.
    Thanks.

  • TIMECODE Mismatch Premiere and Audition

I exported an Aiff file from Premiere.  23.976.  Brought it into Audition.  Did some work on it in the waveform editor (not the multitrack)  saved it and re-imported to Premiere Pro.  The audio is significantly longer and out of sync.
First… I know there is a way to send Audio over to Audition and round trip it back but it sends all the individual edited clips.  I needed to send 1 Audio track that I could clean up.
Apparently Audition is converting the frame rate… I assume to 29.97.  Can't figure out how to prevent this.
I tried it with a wav file export from Premiere as well.  Same issue.
Is there a workaround or better workflow I should be looking at?
    Thanks!
    TAK

    ROFL!
That would've helped to know.  But remember, Premiere will not be able to use the later WAV formats that support more than 4gb.  IF your audio is really big, start with an "Empty Movie" file (MOV or AVI with only audio), which of course is my usual second step (I do a log and transport outside of adobe first).  Once in that format I go to audition, and drop it to FLAC lossless.  Been trying that for a short time, and FLAC seems to handle what I need without extra overhead.  CAF, while a very accurate and useful, capable of splitting into cacheable chunks, and compatible with most software I use, it's not a popular format.  If you absolutely know you're not sending to an audio engineer, use it; otherwise, use FLAC or another popular format.
RED formats are compatible, and even have presets that you can utilize for conversion.  However, like the prores codecs, you need to either remain in that format by copying the presets for AME into the locations for premiere (in the program\app files there's a folder for preview settings that can point to new codecs), or use the AME presets to transport to a new format (Prelude works for this log and transport with formats that are single container based, i.e. that show up as a single file and not multiple transport streams).
I like prelude, but unfortunately I often get stuck using Quicktime or FCPX to log and transport.

  • Remote sharing between Premiere and AE (CS5)

I put together a short film in Premiere that requires special effects.  The guy that is doing it for me in After Effects lives several states away.  What is the most effecient way of having him do the effects?  Should I simply export the entire film and send it to him as a "flat file" or does he need the premiere files as well as the video files?  Final size for that would easily be 20 GB.
    Thanks!
    Will

You could send a Blu-ray disk (or two) with all the media, assets and project files on it.  Then he has everything you have, and all he'd need to send back is the AE project, which will easily fit in e-mail.

  • Broken Links between Premiere and Encore

OK, Here goes.  I'm running CS4 with all of the latest updates (no beta versions here).
I tranfer a video sequence from premiere to encore, which work just fine.
I build my dvd project and when done for the day, I shut down my system for startup the next day.
The next day when I startup the system and open both Premiere & encore, the files
are still linked (verified by the pink timeline in encore) but when I make a change to
the sequence in Premiere, none of the changes show up in Encore.  So in fact, the two
are no longer linked once you either shutdown the system system or exit the program
    (I tried both examples).
SO, does anyone know who to re-establish the links to be active and not passive?
If it's linked, it should stay linked!
    Jeff Bellume, any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Jeff,
Thanks and sorry for my typing.  After 20 straight hours at the computer both my sight and my typing is a little out of sync.
I ran a spell checker but it didn't pick up the error in the spelling of your last name.
But while we're here, why doesn't any of the chapter markers created in premiere show up in Encore when you use the
Adobe Media Encoder.  It worked perfectly in CS4 but doesn't seem to work in CS4.  Premiere creates the files (xmpes & xmp)
but nothing appears (chapter markets & metadata) upon importing them into Encore.
Is there some hidden switch that I haven't tuned on in premiere ?
    Please advise.

  • Organizer links between Premiere and Photoshop Elements 7.0

Has anyone experienced that Organizer in Premiere is using the data in the Organizer of Photoshop Elements?  I loaded over 15,000 photos in PSE and now they are showing up in Premiere where I don't want them and it is really gumming it up.  Very Slow and with memory issues.  Called Adobe and after the tech researched it he said the two programs are linked and there wasn't anything I could do about that and suggested I not use the Organizer, just go straight to Edit and New Project.  Anyone had problems from this lame Adobe programming?

I have a well maintained computer and I saw the same slugishness with the Organizer.
I always use a different catalog in PRE than I do in PSE.
You will need to create a new catalog in the PSE Organizer. Then when you open PRE, from the file menu you can choose to select a differnet catalog. Find the one you just created. PRE will need to restart and when it does you will have a blank organizer, which will get filed as you add media.

  • Frame count differs between Premiere and AE

    Hello,
I rendered a PNG Sequence in AE that put out 10,299 images (frames).
However, when I import that to Premiere, the sequence is only 8,591 frames long.
The AE project was 720p and 25 FPS, and the Premiere sequence settings are the same.
As far as I can tell, the entire render does play in Premiere; it just plays quicker...almost like it's actually in 30 FPS or something.
And considering 8,591/10,299 is nearly the same ratio as 25/30, I'm guessing this is the case.
So the question becomes, why is Premiere behaving like 30 FPS when its settings (below) are set to 25 FPS like the original AE project?

    Rick Gerard wrote:
Check the file interpretation settings in premier. Your footage is obviously being interpreted at 30 frames per second, that doesn't surprise me because premier defaults to 30 frames per second for image sequences.
Thanks as always, Rick! I was able to change the interpretation settings of the imported sequence from 29.997 to 25, and it functions as expected now.
I hope they pay you for your great forum work.

  • Keyframes sliding in the transition between PPro and Audition

Audition Sequence: (same area as above)
Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this?  User error, or a possible bug?  Thanks for the help!

Can you post the .prproj and the resulting .xml file somewhere?  Out of curiousity, is the offset the same as the offset of the clip from the start of the sequence (i.e. does the clip start 1 second in)?
Perhaps send them to [email protected]

  • Editing Footage between Premiere and FCP

If I gave a Premiere editor low quality small AVI files for him to edit then have him export and EDL and give me it, could I open the EDL and reconnect it with my high quality HDV or Pro-Res files? Thanks

    RichCamp,
    Forget about AVI files.
Give to your editor an exact copy of your HDV media (On a tape if they are going to start a project from scratch, otherwise a hard drive containing your media if they need to reconnect that to an existing project of yours sent as EDL).
After your editor completes his/her job he/she can send you back a new EDL and the drive with the media used. Simple and easy, done many times. It works just fine.

  • Problems with Dinamic Link between Premiere pro CC and After Effects CC

I'm having serious problems with dinamic link between premiere pro and after effects, really serious problems that have 2 big projects in trouble (a documentary and a video clip) and I had to redo all the work pipeline to the consumer.
The documentary for a spanish TV was made on CC 2014 and a video clip was made on CC. Both of them with a lot of after effects composition in the premiere pro timeline. Render freeze, a lot of playback issues, and many more problems... Until I decided to remove these links between premiere and after effects and render out all the after effects compositions one by one and insert as clips in premiere pro. 1 week working away with back and fourth.
    I've got a huge workstation:
    i7 4990
    32Gb ram
    GTX780 3gb
    256 gb system ssd
    2 Tb project storage
*All my hardware and software are update.
I know that a lot of folks are on the same huge problem and I want to ask everyone:
    How do you save this?
    What is your pipeline?
    Are there any solution?
Best practice to use dinamic link in a huge project?
    Thanks,

    Thank You, Jim -
Unfortunately that specifically did not work.
Based on another comment sent to me, here is what did.
    In PProCC
File > Adobe Dynamic Link > New After Effects Composition
    In AECC
From that composition created from PPro, I imported the project (aep) initially created in AECC from another team member. Saved the file.
    Back in PProCC
File > Adobe Dynamic Link > Import After Effects Composition
    Magic.

  • Premiere Pro CS4 and Audition 3 problem!

Please help! I have CS4 Premiere and Audition 3 I update Premiere to version 4.2 and I got to edit in Audition, but dark and I can not hit. When I push edit original, audition opened and the processed sound. When I want to save the file leaves me a window that can not be done because the file is open in another program. Thanks in advance reply.

    The solution is very simple,:
    This  update resolves the question.
This update install modification in  dynalic link to support adobe autition3 instead of soundbooth.
This updaye , also  adds support for AAF   import/export, Apple Final Cut Pro XML project import, and OMF export,   along with
numerous other stability and quality improvements. The  update  is recommended for all Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 users.
An important detail is that this feature only works in Windows. Sorry ´bout the poor MAC software.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4088
The home page of all updates for Premiere Pro CS4 is here :
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=98&platform=Windows
Reinstalling all the apllication and if  the aplication is standard  CS4 (4.0)  this acti0on will not resolve the issue.
My recomendation is to install  update 4.0.1 and 4.1.0
Others like 420, 421 is apllicable only if demand  use of large avc intra, red format and p2 with h264 and other improvments

  • Live/realtime connection between WebI and Xcelsius

    Hi,
is it possible to have some kind of a live connection between WebI and Xcelsius for the following scenario...
I need to have my WebI report made availabe as an Xcelsius Dashboard and when I filter a value in the dashboard it should also get filtered in the WebI report. Is this possible and if so then how?
    Pls help.
    Thanks,

Edited by: Sebastian D'Souza on Feb 22, 2011 11:39 AM

    Hi Sebastian,
Yes this is very possible. Of the three connection methods (QaaWS, Live Office, BI Services) I would recommend BI Services for flexibility, speed to set up, and speed for query refresh times.
Check out this post for a step-by-step guide http://blog.davidg.com.au/2011/03/drill-down-in-xcelsius-using-bi.html
And refer to the Webi Rich Client guide in the section "Sharing Web Intelligence content with other Web applications" for the full details of how this works.
    Hope this helps.
