Loading .class files for reflection

I'm trying to write a program that lets the user select thier .class files to gather
information about those classes with reflection.
I can't figure out how to get ClassLoader to load .class files outside the program
directory.

I've tried both these options, and spent some time on it too,
but failed. If can't find a class that can load clases form a URL
how can I write my own ClassLoader that does it.
The ClassLoaders all seem to assume that they already know where
to look for the class files. Perhaps if I could tell them where to look,
but I don't see how.

  • Finding loaded Class file from particular Jar

    Hi,
    I have multiple jars containing same class file.
    How can I find out that the loaded Class file belongs to particular jar?
    Thanks
    madan

    In most cases it's possible with ProtectionDomain and CodeSource:ProtectionDomain pd = YourClass.class.getProtectionDomain();
    CodeSource cs = pd.getCodeSource();
    if (cs != null) {
        System.out.println("It came from " + cd.getLocation());
    } else {
        System.out.println("Location unknown.");

  • For WebLogic 5.1, where should I put my class files for my JavaBeans?

    With JBuilder4, I have built an application with JSP and a few Java Beans (Those JavaBeans are instantiated in those JSP files). There are no EJBs. The package name is called 'onlinetrade'. I have tested the application on JBuilder's web server, it works pretty well.
    Now I am moving this application to WegLogic 5.1. I have encountered a problem with WebLogic 5.1
    and do not know where I should place my JavaBean class files --
    Originally, the JSP files for my application are in package path-- ..onlinetrade\jsp
    and the class files for my beans are in the package path -- ..onlinetrade\jsp\bean\*.class
    Now, with WebLogic 5.1,
    1) I have put my JSP files in
    C:\weblogic\myserver\public_html\onlinetrade\jsp
    2) I have created subdirectory and put my bean class files in
    C:\weblogic\myserver\classfiles\onlinetrade\jsp\bean
    When I started weblogic and the first page - login.jsp page can be up and accessed. But when I login and forward to another JSP page called 'controller.jsp', where a bean is instantiated, I got the following error
    Compilation of 'C:\weblogic\myserver\classfiles\jsp_servlet\_onlinetrade\_jsp\__controller.java' failed:
    C:\weblogic\myserver\classfiles\jsp_servlet\_onlinetrade\_jsp\__controller.java:210: cannot access jsp_servlet._onlinetrade._jsp.registerBean
    probably occurred due to an error in /onlinetrade/jsp/controller.jsp line 53:
    registerBean registerBeanInstance = new registerBean();
    I know the javac is working, and a java file is created upon the JSP page, but the problem is -- the bean class files cannot be found!!!
    Where should I create the package path and put my bean class file so that my JSP pages can pick them up?
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks.

  • How to get the .class file for the extended Controller .java file

    Hi,
    I did the below steps.
    1. Created New OAWorkspace
    2. Created New project
    3. Imported the page .xml file
    4. Added new .java file by extending the controller class
    5. Added code in the .java file.
    6. Ran the .xml file
    As I copied all the folders from Unix box, the page was opened.
    But My question was where can I see the .class file the extended controller. It's a .java file. How to compile and get the .class file for this .java file. If I get this .class file, I can go to the page and click the personlize page. and change the Controller name to the new path by ftp ing the new class to the cust.oracle.apps.pos.changeorder.webiui.
    Please let me know how to create the .class file.
    Thanks,
    HP

    All are Java files are stored in JDEV_INSTALL_DIR:\jdevhome\jdev\myprojects\
    In your case the path java would be
    JDEV_INSTALL_DIR:\jdevhome\jdev\ myprojects \cust\oracle\apps\pos\changeorder\webui\
    AND
    Once you compile the java file in Jdeveloper, Class files get generated @ below path
    In your case the path of class would be
    JDEV_INSTALL_DIR:\jdevhome\jdev\ myclasses \cust\oracle\apps\pos\changeorder\webui\

  • Failed to load configuration file for the workflow

    There are two of us who have full control on our Sharepoint 2013 site. I'm able to create workflows and publish them fine. The other user is able to create workflows, but he gets an error when trying to run them. I  tried opening his workflow and got
    the error "Failed to load configuration file for the workflow."
    Any ideas?

    Hi Carltonw1,
    Based on your description, I recommend to verify the things below:
    Clear the SharePoint Designer cache and then open the workflow.
    Ask the user to open the workflow in SharePoint Designer and check if the workflow contains error.
    Ask the user to create the same workflow and associated with another list to see how it works.
    Check the ULS log for more detailed error message.
    To reproduce this issue, could you please provide the detailed steps in the workflow for further research?
    Thanks,

    How many records can I load through apex load utility?
    I am loading csv files.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    You download the report that is displayed in APEX which is limited to 65k. There may be some way of creating a custom file based off the table rather than using APEX's built in export to csv option but I don't know of any being released. Denes produced an export to .xls option but I don't know how many rows that caters too: http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:108:1512181285516724::NO:: -- I assume 65k too though.

    For your other point, I don't want rename the subdirectory since we have other extensions dependent on the path name.

  • Loading class file stored in BLOB field

    - I am able to store and retrieve Java files and XML files in and from a BLOB field, but when I store a class file and try and load it using Class Loader, it us unable to load the class. The size of the class file increases by 1 byte when I retrieve it from the database. Is this some security feature by the JVM? Is it not possible to store, retrieve and load a class file from a database table?

    First, I would suggest you use fiddler (http://www.telerik.com/fiddler) to compare these two different client requests, second, please try to use Azure Storage Explorer (http://azurestorageexplorer.codeplex.com/) to do
    this instead of the Azure Web Storage Explorer.

  • Tomcat6 does not load class files from WEB-INF/lib/myjarfile.jar  WHY???

    I have placed my jar file in c:\tomcat6\webapps\my-application\WEB-INF\lib\myjarfile.jar
    But, after restarting tomcat6, when i try to import the class file contained in the myjarfile.jar in a servlet, it says
    ProcessFileUpload.java:4: package test.test1 does not exist
    import test.test1.*;
    ^It clearly tomcat's class loading problem.
    As i unzipped my jar and placed the packagefolder structure to
    c:\tomcat6\webapps\my-application\WEB-INF\classes\testand it works perfectly.
    Anyone knows its workaround? please suggest if any configuration changes is required in tomcat or so.

  • Plz help load class files

    hai forum,
    Plz help me out regarding this trouble.
    I have extracted class files of a jar file into a local directory D:\myClass.
    Now i need to access these class files.I loaded the path D:\myClass using URL ClassLoader.
                                  File file = new File("D:myClass");
                          URL url = file.toURL();
                          URL[] urls = new URL[]{url};
                          ClassLoader cl = new URLClassLoader(urls);
                          Class c = cl.loadClass(classname);The rest of the code is for listing the methods of the class file.But the class file is not getting loaded and thus the methods are not listed.
    Has it got anything to do with the way i have extracted and stored the class files?
    Plz help me identify my mistake.
    Thank you.

    Hi, I will borrow this thread to discuss my problem with loading a class file.
    How do you use the class when you have loaded it?
    I'm using this code:
    File file = new File("C:\\Foo\\Foo.class");
    URL url = file.toURL();
    URL[] urls = new URL[]url;
    ClassLoader cl = new URLClassLoader(urls);
    Class c = cl.loadClass(cl.getClass().getName());
    Object o = c.newInstance(); <-- This can't be done, my applet just stops and starts to wait or something. I don't get any exception or anything.
    The class Foo.class has a constructor that's prints some text and a function that can print some other text. Is it possible to call that function in some way?

  • How to reload class file for java objects in CF MX7

    I'm trying to create a simple java object for use in a CFML
    page. According to the topic "About ColdFusion and Java objects" in
    the CF developer's guide, I can compile my java module and put the
    .class file in the CFusionMX7/wwwroot/WEB-INF/classes directory and
    it'll be dynamically reloaded any time CF sees a new .class file
    there. But the dynamic reload isn't happening; I have to restart
    the CF server to get it to pick up a new version.
    I don't believe this directory is in the "general JVM
    classpath"; I don't find "classes" in the Java Class Path in the CF
    Administrator's System Information page. And I have all the caching
    options turned off on the "Server Settings > Caching" page, if
    that has any bearing on it.
    Are there any known issues around this dynamic reload
    capability, or maybe a more definitive way to make sure the
    WEB-INF/classes directory isn't in the classpath?
    Thanks,
    James

    Yes, I understand. But if I'm reading it correctly, what
    you're saying seems to contradict the documentation
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/coldfusion/7/htmldocs/00001561.htm
    ColdFusion dynamically loads classes that are either .class
    files in the web_root/WEB-INF/classes directory or in JAR files in
    the web_root/WEB-INF/lib directory. ColdFusion checks the time
    stamp on the file when it creates an object that is defined in
    either directory, even when the class is already in memory. If the
    file that contains the class is newer than the class in memory,
    ColdFusion loads the class from that directory.
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_18228&sliceId=1
    Dynamic class reloading for Java servlets classes and
    forcfobject (sic) Java classes is disabled by default in
    ColdFusion MX. To enable dynamic class reloading, do the following:
    Also, I seem to recall that setting worked in a prior
    version. Though I would have to test it again on another machine to
    be certain.

  • Loading class files

    I've been having a problem with something I have been making and I need some help.
    I want to have a user use a file chooser to choose a class file and my program will run it for them in an internal frame. I can do it if I write the class into the code like:
    SomeClass Share = new SomeClass();
              JInternalFrame j = new JInternalFrame(Share.getTitle(), true, true, true, true);
              Toolkit theKit = j.getToolkit();
              Dimension wndSize = theKit.getScreenSize();
              j.setLocation(wndSize.width/4, (wndSize.height/4)-50);
              j.setSize(wndSize.width/2, (wndSize.height/2)+100);
              j.setContentPane(Share.getContentPane());
              j.setJMenuBar(Share.getJMenuBar());
              Share.dispose();
              j.setVisible(true);
              deskTop.add(jif);
    But I want the user to be able to select what class goes in instead of SomeClass (as in the example)
    I hope this made sense, but I really need the help! Thanks

    If it's in the classpath & you remember to slice off the ".class" ending then buckman1's code should work well. However you may not be able to guarantee that the class is in the classpath! To do this use java.io to load the class file into a byte[] one way or another. Then use an instance of a subclass of ClassLoader (or SecureClassLoader) to load the class. This subclass must expose the method defineClass(String name, byte[] b, int off, int len) or equivalent so that you can load the class out of the byte array. Note that each instance of a class loader has it's own "namespace" for loaded classes! This may make it more tedious for you or be very useful if you need to load in two different classes called foo.class! (You will still have to use a common base class or interface.)

    Hi java/jsp experts,
    I want to convert a .jsp to a .java/.class file. is there a tool available, please let me know if you have any pointers....
    or can i do it manually:
    these are a few lines that the .jsp contains, and i would like to translate this to be in .java/.class format:

    how can i translate the above import statements and html elements from jsp to java, please let me know.
    Once i have the .java file created from the .jsp, I will compile .java to create the .class file and invoke the .class in peoplecode by using java apis available in peopletools.
    Thanks in advance.

    Is there a way convert a binary .exe file( compiled by
    another compiler) into Java .class/.jar file ? Anyone
    know of a free program that can do this?It's not possible. There are many decompilers and disassemblers for Java but nothing will take you from ANY binary to Java source. It would be the end of computing as we know it and the beginning of a new era -:)
