Loading uploaded Extracts

I understand that we can load the extracts from local desktop file systems and use them for loading into the destination tables.
Questions:
1.Is the file format always Zip file?
2.What should be the content of zip file? Areselection set xml and prevalidator xml files must?
3. If I have to leverage iSetup for custom uploads, how can I define the selection sets? Is it is just insert into the the base tables using the database packages?
Basically trying to use this load information from desktop into the tables in the local instance itself? Is it feasible?

Dear,
You can upload your own created / modified iSetup Data through iSetup Extract & Load option. Following Data files are required to UPload extract data into Target instance
#1. Driver.xml file must contaned with list of all XML api's being used, formatted in XML tag
#2. Selection Set .Xml file mentains all selection set name along with their sequences and occurance during Load.
#3. Validator XML file is standard XML validation file for varify the XML version and standard validation. We can use same file.
#4. Apart from above all set of files now you can place your own customized or modified iSetup XML data file, actully this file containts DATA to be loaded into Target instance.

Defautl user has no rights to load or extract data

Hi,
i just provisioned a new user with default and other rights. In windows client he can load or extract data etc. But it doesn't work in workspace. There's no drop down list under "Task", like load Task or extract Task etc. According to the HFM admin guide, user with default right should have standard rights like load or extract task. Did I something wrong?
Has anyone some idea?

Loading custom Generic Loader type extracts broken after patch 7616161

Before applying 7616161, we could perform full ETL operations within iSetup using custom apis for a seeded .lct file. After applying this patch, extracts still work using the same custom apis, but loads fail with the following error:

In an instance that was cloned with 12.0.6 after applying 7616161, then upgrading the instance to 12.1.1, still getting this problem, specifically the nullpointerexception error in the APISorter class. Will the patch 8871713 work under this upgraded instance as well? Or do I need different code to patch up iSetup to get the Generic Loader type extensions working in 12.1.1?

ODI and Loading to/Extracting from Hyperion Planning **?

All,
first--I am not a Hyperion expert.
Clients have 2 requirements:
#1. Loading data ( flat file format residing in Windows environment) ''to'' Hyperion Planning 9.3.1
#2. Extracting Data 'From' Hyperion Planning 9.3.1 to a flat file ( residing in Windows environment)
Questions:
#1 I have looked at materials at OBE > ( http://ias.us.oracle.com/portal/page?_pageid=33,1704614&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL)
I have been able to reverse engineer a Hyperion application in ODI. but apparently that's not all, and there is additional work to be done in Hyperion itself
namely---'preparing' dimensional members, before loading any data.
Let's say the input data is comprised of: Product_code, Account_num, Period, Amount
Can someone explain how the following recommended steps by Hyperion example can plays out to load this data?
1) Loading Metadata? ( what needs to be added/changed in Hyperion diemnsion)
2) Loading Data?
#2 do we have to use ODI to create interface and extract/write data from Hyperion to a flat file? isn't there any Hyperion 'Facility' which does that?

Hello,
Unfortunately there is no SSO option from "Planning to FDM" via Tasks.
The URL you should tell Planning to launch in a new window is 'http://<ServerName>/HyperionFDM'
If Planning can not execute that in a fresh IE window; then there isn't much that can be done.
It might also be advantageous to post this to the Planning group as well; since this isn't necessarily an FDM discussion.

I'm trying to do INIT for Generic Extractor using Function module, but i'm getting error as "Error occurred in the source system"

Webutil file load/upload problem

Hi,
When i upload/download file from DB or AS and filename contains only english letters there is no problem. But when i wanna upload file which filename contains baltic leters webutil demo showing thah all ok,no errors, but blob column is empty.
I try to debug code and found that after this code clientFileInfo always = '0|0'

The BW job starts the R/3 job and this R/3 job keep failing with the dump.TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOC_FAILED.
the job is currently running with package size = 2.000 records.

Hi Anita,
This error msg has nothing to do with the Hard Disk space. So, it doesn't matter if you are loading thru PSA or directly into Target. Please check the OSS notes suggested and check if you are using any Huge Internal tables.
Also, in the Shortdump you will get infomation abt the Source Code where it failed. It might give you information abt the Internal Tables that are used, if in case the dump occurred in the custom code.

How to load/import/extract Axon Instrument .abf file 2.0.4 version?

Hi all,
We recently set up a low current measuring system using Axon Instrument's devices, and the data recorded are in .abf format 2.0.4 version. I know there's an example VI about abf file format here: http://www.ni.com/example/30979/en/, but it only supports up to 2.0 version. Is there any support for loading/importing/analysing .abf version 2.0.4 file format?

Have you tried the example VI to see if it works? I wouldn't expect a version number 3 places out to make too much of a difference.
Are the differences documented anywhere?

DW Extract error: could not load Extract panel

How do I get my extract panel to work? I get and error message in the extract panel that reads, "Couldn't load the Extract panel. Try reloading the panel after sometime (Flyout menu>Creative Cloud Assets).

and then try re launch of Dreamweaver and again sign in using your Adobe Id.

I am new to SAP.
As part of data conversion planning from legacy mainframe to SAP CRM and ECC systems, I need to know the different tools available for loading the data and comparative analysis of the tools by showing the features. Please also describe the process to evaluate the tools (prototyping, technical discussions etc) and make the recommendations.
I would also appreciate any information on testing tools like (eCATT) and any third party tools (like Informatica)
I know I am asking for lot of things here. But, I really appreciate any information reagrding this.

Is it possible to load rt.jar?

Hi! I need some classes found in JDK 1.3.1, is it possible to load rt.jar into Oracle 9i? I've tried with but there are lots of errors (I've even decompressed and zipped it again since I was told it could help). Any ideas?

Which classes are you looking for inside rt.jar?
Oracle 9i is shipped with JDK 1.3.1 complaint JVM, so the standard JDK is already loaded into SYS's schema.
Before uploading any class in SYS first check if doesn't exist.
You can find any particular class by using (logged as SYS):
SELECT dbms_java.longname(object_name) cName
FROM user_objects
WHERE object_type = 'JAVA CLASS' AND status = 'VALID'
AND dbms_java.longname(object_name) like 'javax/sql/%';
If you upload classes which where created during OJVM installation may be you can break the DB or get inconsistent results.
Missing classes can be uploaded extracting the rt.jar in an empty directory, copying only the missing classes and creating a new rt-missing.jar file.

Load performance - how to read 0BWTC_C05

Right now I'm trying to gather statistics (for last two months) regarding upload (extraction) times on our BW system (SAP BW 3.5).
What I need is the entire time for a infopackage run. This must be corresponding to monitor entries.
In addition to this I need number of records.
I would like to compare on daily basis the number of records and runtime per InfoPAckage.
I have tried with Techincal Business Content: 0BWTC_C05.
Report: Utilizing WHM per InfoSource (0BWTC_C10_Q314). But I can not find the link between monitor entries and report results.
For number of records - it is fine. It is one to one
But for i.e. infosource 2lis_11_vaitm - no idea how to read the runtimes.
Any idea how to read this report?

Hi Parag!
You could put the RData file into zip package, upload it, and pass it to the right input port (Script Bundle). The zip will then get unpacked and you can load it from within your R script, the local folder where it's unpacked is called .\Script

Data not loading from R/3 to BW

Hello
I am a new user in SAP BW, but i am quite familiar with it now. I am trying to load or extract data from the SAP r/3 system to the BW system. When i check the value of my extractor in rsa3 , i can see the records. But when i try to load into the cube in BW , it shows in my monitor " Not yet completed/warning" and "0 from 0 records" . My status is yellow in my details tab(though "REquests" message is green) I am using BW 3.x. It remains like that for a day and then the status changes to red without the data being loaded.
Can anyone help me out with this? I tried a lot of things, but still not able to find a solutions to this?

Well i know it doesnot even come to the PSA.. ! because I had tried that earlier, it still says the same.
I had tried activating also again , but with no success
The error message in the "Status" Tab is as follows

Error messages in the "details" tab is as follows.

   -->Requests (messages):Everything OK (green)
   -->Data Request Arranged(green)
   -->confirmed with :Ok (green)
-> Extaction (messages) missing messages
   -->Missing Messages: Request Received (yellow)
   -->Missing Messages: Number of sent records(yellow)
   -->Missing Messages:Selection completed(yellow)
->Transfer (IDocs and TRFC): Missing messages(yellow)
->Processing (DataPacket): no DAta(yelloW)
These were the errors

Issue when doing Delta loads from PSA to DSO using DTP - Pls help Urgent

Hi All,
I have done 3 data loads into PSA and from PSA, iam loading the data into DSO - by splitting that load into 3 using 3 DTPs. (Split that by Fiscal Period).
2 of the DTP loads are extracting the data from 3 PSA requests.
But, one of the DTP load is filtering on ONE PSA request.
So, we are not getting the full data into DSO.
Can some one pls help me why the DTP load is beheaving like this ???
Even though i have not given any filters for Request id, still , for one load its picking up the data by filtering on One Req ID.
