Location and notification issues.

Location and notification services have become unstable since updating iPAD 2 to iOS 5.  They seem to just go away for email and apps and then start working intermittently.  I don't know if it has anything to do with weak wifi after updating or what but never had this happen so often before iOS 5.

Well, before beginning a hard reset, I would love someone to be able to answer me if these are genuine issues introduced with the new software or something gone wrong. I should be able to get an answer on the location issue at bare minimum. Did this update change how location reporting works? It seems the location button in the notification panel no longer simply toggles GPS like it used to but somehow turns on/off all location reporting for the entire device. Thus just tapping on it to turn it on pops up the "Location Consent Agreement" page (every time by the way...you would think it would remember my preference) and forces me to go to the Location settings page to set my desired location settings (high accuracy GPS or low power mobile network approximation). If at any point I turn this off, all location reporting is disabled and the phone thinks I'm in another state. Thus I either have to keep the high accuracy (but battery killing) GPS on all the time which is even worse since I can't get a GPS signal at my work locaion, or I have to enter the Location settings page and change my location mode to GPS every time I want to navigate or find a more accurate location on a map (such as searching for a local business).
You should be able to answer me that question.

  • Iphone 4s siri and notifications issue? Maybe a problem with one of my processors??

    Okay, so let me try to lay this out. Bottom line is, I am pretty sure it's an issue with something in my phone, but it isn't consistant enough to show to someone at the apple store, I've already tried haha.
    So it's a relativly new phone, I got it late June of this year, 32 GB black (if those matter for anything) 4s. Before we continue, YES, I am exiting all my apps fully, quite often (nearly every hour or two). And I restart my phone every 3 or 4 days, I sync it with i-tunes pretty regularly, etc.
    Some of the issues I'm having
    1. Notifications
         When I get notifications (almost always texts, and I think I may have figgured this one out but it's ****** if I'm right) and I swipe THE NOTIFICATION in my lock screen, to open the message thread or call someone back, it will swipe, but it's like I only swipe it halfway, even when it show it being swiped all the way, and it just flys back to the left and doesn't react (doesn't go to the message). i'll swipe a few times and sometimes it will finally work. As it's gone on (for 2 months or so now) it's gotten so that it drops the message halfway throgh, even though I'm sure I didn't let go of the screen. I thought maybe my touch overlay there might be going bad or somehting but it happens all over the screen (top, middle, bottom, etc) when the notification is in a different location because of how many notifications i have.
         It doesn't seem to be related to the amount of notifications I have, or how long I've had them, or battery life, etc.
         It does seem to happen most with my girlfriends texts, I'd imagine the only corolation here is either that she texts me more often so just overall I do it more often to her, or that our text thread is really long. But it still happens even with short threads, or when there are no previous messages from that person. Just an idea.
    2. Siri.
         I'll give siri a command. Very simple commands, and very complex alike, she (well i changed it to he, but it happens on both) won't react. "Call Laura" and the little circle orbiting the microphone will just spin. and spin. and spin. No "I didn't catch that" or "calling laura" or "calling craig". Just spinning. I hit the home button, try again, same story. Close all my apps. Same story. It used to be that I could re-start my phone and that would help, but even that doesn't work probably 80% of the time anymore.
    Both of these problems happened in both IOS 5 and 6... So I'm lead to believe it's some sort of hardware problem. The reason I'm guessing processor is simply because I feel like my phone is not a LOT slower than other 4s', but noticably slower, It doesn't just react, it takes a second.
    Also, this happened for the first time today, but with my Iphone luck i feel like it might happen again, I had something opened and needed to get to my home screen, so obviously I pushed the home button, nothing happened instantly, so I waited a second or so, nothing still so I pushed home again and the popup for open apps came up. So OBVIOUSLY it registered my first home button push, if it counded the second as a second push, but I am sure I waited long enough for it to have gone home after the first push. I pushed home for a third time, the menu went away and my home screen came up. No other crazy stuff going on.
    and finaly, the reason I was prompted to finaly ask this. Back to the notification thing, I had a text (not my girlfriend so like i said, this happens with all texts). Swiped the notification over, phone shuts off. Not imedatly, it shows the apple surounded by black. then it turned itsself back on.
    I love apple products, simply because they are simple and work. Androids always seem to slow down, they freeze up with age, etc. But this is very un-apple product-like. And I'm sure there's some fix for it.

    Thank you for the sugestion, but it was working fine both on the lock screen and on my home screen. I check all my settings and it is how it was from Friday, when I got the iPhone 5s. It just stop working.  The only way I can fix it is by shutting down the phone. It will work for a while, then it won't.

    What would the issue be?  Does it say your phone is offline?  IF so that means your phone is powered off.
    Your phone would need to powered on and connected to internet in order for find my iphone to work.

  • With the 7.2 update, neither NHL or MLB recognize my location and are not allowing me to access content. Worked through troubleshooting with MLB for an hour with no resolution. They have elevated the issue. Is this an error in the 7.2 update?

  • CDP and DeltaCRL locations expiring on Issuing CA

    This has been a crash course in PKI and I am taking over for a previous sysadmin which has made it even more interesting. I'm hoping that you smart folks can help me
    to better understand my configuration so that I can correct an issue with expiring/expired locations. Otherwise, I fear I might bugger it up even more.
    Overview:
    Offline Root CA - 2008 R2 SP1 - Not joined to the domain.
    Online Issuing CA #1 - 2003 R2 SP2 - Joined to the domain (was supposed to be retired, I believe). I don't see any issues with this server.
    Online Issuing CA #2 - 2007 R2 SP1 - Joined to the domain (was supposed to replace #1, I believe). This one has items that are expired/expiring.
    I had a call that a user was receiving a certificate error when trying to connect to our MS Lync server, and when I checked the Online Issuing CA
    #2 server, I notice a pile of expired/expiring locations. I did a bunch of searching/reading and came to the conclusion that I would have export a new Root CA cert from my offline Root CA (Right-click Revoked Certificates, All Tasks, Publish the .CRL), manually
    copy it over to the online Issuing CA (C:\Windows\System32\CertSRV\CertEnroll), restart the ADCS service and then use the command Certutil -addstore -f CA cert.crl and
    then update AD with Certutil -f -dspublish cert.crl.
    That seemed to clear the expiry notices for the "Issuing CA 2 (V0.0)", but the following scrubbed screen shots are what I'm left with.
    On the first, when the Root CA branch is selected, you can see "CDP Location #2 Expired". It expired last month. This is a HTTP location
    (one of 2 HTTP locations that are present):
    In the second, when the "Issuing CA (V7.0)" branch is selected, you can see a bunch of items expiring:
    The AIA locations and CA Certs themselves won't expire for 19 more years.
    I'm uncertain as to why we have 2 Issuing CA branches under the Root CA (V0.0 and V7.0?), and very curious as to what I am missing or what I may have
    done incorrectly to have expired/expiring items remaining.  I realize that the MMC snapin isn't totally reliable, so I'm looking for ways to verify the integrity of PKI across the domain and be sure that I haven't messed anything up. I would also like
    to retire the old CA, but want to make sure I decommission it in such a way that there is no impact to the production environment.
    Any insight would be more than appreciated.

    Can you check again which physical directory is associated specifically with CDP #2 and if you copied the new CRLs there? Any directory could theoretically be used as a CDP - so you need to check the virtual dir in pkiview.msc or the Issuing CA's cert.,
    and then find the corresponding dir in IIS Manager.
    One thing to note: A CA creates more than one CRL if it had been renewed once with a new key. I f you run certutil -crl at the Root more than one file is created in the local CertEnroll directory (CA.crl, CA(1).crl etc.) How many
    CRL files have been created at the same time are in the Root's CertEnroll directory?
    You need to publish all those files to all CDPs (also holds for ldap). In case you copied a single CRL file to the web server - is one of the others maybe missing? Compare the file suffix of local files and the URL referred to in pkiview.msc
    - is it CA.crl, CA(1).crl in both cases?
    If it is really the same web server and same file and OK in the local directory but expired when retrieved over HTTP I can only imagine it is an odd DNS / caching / proxy etc. issue.

  • IOS 5 ACTIVATION AND SIM ISSUES

    Good morning all from England!
    Im on O2 (UK) and last night upgraded my iPhone from 4.3.3 to 5.0. The update went smoothly until it came to activating the phone.
    All of the activation steps seemed to go smoothly, Language select, country select, location services, WiFi...then it switched to the "your iphone is being activated...this may take up to three minutes to complete"
    All through this, the signal area was static on Searching... then eventually went to no service. iTunes also popped up at this point saying that there was no SIM card installed. Then i am greeted with the "unable to activate iPhone" and states that the activation server is temporarily unavailable. and asks to try again. I have done this countless times but im now under the impression that the issue of no signal is causing the issue.
    From reading other posts on the interweb, there is speak of baseband upgrade issues where signals are no longer being registered.
    I have tried my O2 sim in another phone and works fine, so i know it is not the sim.
    Apple, are you aware of this issue? If so, how quickly do you plan to fix it.
    Otherwise, has anyone else out there experienced the same issues as me? And has anyone found a fix for it?
    I have the iPhone 3GS and i have been told its the new bootrom type - if that helps??
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Prior to the iOS 5 update, I could get 2.5 days out of a single charge based on my normal usage. Today I received one call and used the map to check traffic, once, and I went from 100% at 7am to ZERO by 7pm - auto shut off.
    Can someone please explain to me what is running in the iOS 5 backround that is sucking this thing dry?
    I have alread turned off PING, most of the location settings, and notifications to conserve battery. This is INSANE. I don't need trouble shooting on the device. 24 hours ago, with iOS 4.3.5 none of this was happening. The only change between now and then, is the installation of iOS 5.
    Any other suggestions out there?
    Maybe I should shut the phone off entirely until I actually need it - that should save the charge.
    Does anyone at APPLE monitor these blogs? This is a SERIOUS issue - and I'm not the only one. There is dialog already bubbling up elsewhere regarding the same issue.

    I had major issues with the iPhone 4s battery, however it’s resolved.
    The tech who set the phone up at the Apple store did so with little training.
    if you have a mobile me account. First go and move all your data to the cloud by going on your computer and logging in at me.com/move. The cloud has replaced mobile me, so there is no need for those two accounts
    Also make sure that for any of your email accounts you set them up to fetch, not push. My tech person set them all to have the email servers push data to the phone. The new iphone4s antenna is extremely strong so it will continually try to access stuff that is pushed–***** a lot of battery life doing this. It makes it worse if you have exchange 2010 accounts. Something about changes made to exchange really suck battery life from devices that access such accounts.

  • Stock on posting date -storage location and batch wise

    I need to developa report exactly same as MB5B but with storage location and batch wise.
    We need  storage location wise opening stock, total receipts, total issues and closing stock, and values for given time period.
    I have gone through some history tables like MCHBH and MBEWH.
    But all the history tables are having fileds for period wise but not date wise.
    Any focus on this?

    You have to read the coding of MB5B to see how SAP is doing it.
    The stock per date is calculated, starting from a month end, adding or reducing quantities based on movements until the date in question is reached.

  • IQ826t Restart and Heating Issue

    One thing I definitely do not like the HP's support especially when they will not allow us to buy a 7 Upgrade from Vista nor will they support something (even when I find their glitches and they admit after telling me it was just the OS).. On Repair work, I had to ship it out and this will be my 2-3 time to do repair on this PC in the past 3 years (and I have to wait a week for the repair to be done...)
    Besides that, IQ826t, Win 7 Ultimate SP1
    All Drivers are up to date with HP website (utilizing Win 7 64 bit drivers and Firmware is up to date). AVG update/scan (no issue - confirmed even rootkit).. Malwarebyte - Scan and no issue
    Disk Cleanup, Disk Defragmentation done on a monthly and quarterly schedule
    Biggest Issue:
    I am getting a crash with Win 7 0x124 Stop Error Message (happens periodically and even after a reboot)
    Never had this issue until May and the upgrade to Win 7 was done last year with SP1 update done on March (so it is not an issue with the OS as HP support personnel seems to think... I proved them the issue with Windows Update History, The  Bluescreen error code on my error code reader)..  This machine under warranty and I had issues with it constant (even in Vista)
    They state that it is the OS.. Again, if that was the case, I would think it would happen right away like my Toshiba on SP1 upgrade... That was not the case in the matter.  I have a firmware reset (default settings) and the issue persist..
    The Error Code relates always HAL.dll or ntoskrnl.exe
    One if hardware compatiblity and the other is an OS kernel exe file.. And this usually checking knowledge base relates to hardware failing due to 1) Compatibility (which HP website confirms is not the case) 2) OS corruption (which is not the case checking on safe mode and this happening STILL 3) Heat Issue (which I believe is the issue and was been documented on the Internet
    What I am noticing is the unit is extremely HOT (vent is almost burning when it has been off and just turned on).. I wonder if the hardware pieces are literally melting to destruction since I can't just open it up (they state it will void my warranty)
    The Symptoms before the Crash (happens any time.. Even right after a power up)
    If you are playing audio or video, you will start to hear jitters and sound seems to echo itself .. Video would start to lag and become choppy..  Systems start to slow down and things seem to run very slow.. I have seen the power light on the PC start on but the touchscreen just go black (will not restart sometimes)..
    Minor Issues (but could be related)
    1) When running PC Hardware Diagnostic, they will come up with an error code in the past and that was warranted for a motherboard replacement (of course, they ship the box to the wrong location and I was in the middle of my wedding so I get to it now).. It was pertaining to PCI Express Status ICH9 PCI Express Root Port  where it will generate an error code... Now, running the diagnostic... I will not get any error but PCI Express Root Port 3 & 5 do not show up on the diagnostic... Wouldn't that obvious show something that is a problem when there are 6 ports (which on the previous diagnostic that I can't grab past logs shows that). That is not warranted for a warranty work? Just a note, I got the fail test code (which was intermittent but keep happening and the tech support would not look at previous case.. Port 4 failed and a fatal device code)
    2) Blu-Ray player will not run and their answer is that it is your Blu-Ray until they realize that I ran it on 3 different Blu-Ray player standalone, different Blu-Ray, and confirm DVD will work.. They still think it is a software issue until they can't deny my point when it will not read the Blu-Ray no matter what (they took control and confirmed it).. They believe the HP SmartDVD software was failing because of Win 7 and not Vista (even when I downgrade and confirm it works, I stated the software is the issue...  Lone and behold, 2 months later they had an update that they refuse to admit I was RIGHT on the matter and done 15 hours of troubleshooting that they were wrong about)
    3) Wireless Keyboard and Mouse lost connectivity even if the battery is not low... Just stop typing or omit letters.. This is considering the keyboard is literally in front of the touchscreen
    4) Touchscreen is sensitive when it wants to be but won't in other... Constant issues there
    This is why I have so much issue with support.. They seem to show that they will do anything to deny the issue.. Heck, I am a computer technian calling on the issue.. It ain't like I didn't troubleshoot on the matter... But they think we are all morons and when I prove them wrong, they will use any excuse to honor warranty... That is why it is amazing..

    ALSO, in setting up your new Z30, are you syncing many contacts or calendar data from a connected email account?

  • Material/Serial Nbr is "Stuck" in a storage location and can not be moved

    We have a situation created by my customers which has lead to a situation I have never seen before.  A material/serial nbr. that is in our Returns location that can not be transfered, issued, removed, or anything via ANY MIGO movement type combination.
    This is what happend:
    - Customer return processed.  Material ABC, Batch XYZ with Serial Nbr. 123 brought into our "RT" StoreLoc.
    - Clerk processed MIGO to do a Stock Transfer of this material to another StoreLoc. (PS).  He entered in the material ABC, batch XYZ, and a bad serial number 1233.  He used a 453 Movement type.
    - After realizing his mistake, he processed MIGO again and processed a GI Xfer posting with a 972 movement type to get rid of the bad material/serial nbr. he had just moved to the PS StoreLoc.
    - Then he tried to redo the Stock Transfer using a 453 Movement type for the material ABC, batch XYZ, and the good serial nbr. 123, but, he gets a "Deficit of BA Ret.blocked prev. 1.000 EA " error message.
    - At this point, he contacts me to ask what can be done.
    No matter what we try to do, we can not access this part/serial nbr. combo to move it or issue it or whatever.  It is like a ghost now.  You can see the serial number via IQ03, but you can not do anything with this part/serial nbr.
    Help!  Do I need to write an ABAP to physically delete this material/serial nbr from its batch?

    Hi,
    First of all, I would assume you used customized movement type 972 to 'get rid of' your material ID with wrong serial number 1233 at PS storage location.  If this is the case, then this posting did not return the stock quantity from PS to your RT storage location and that why when you tried to make another posting (with correct serial number 123), an error message was popped up as you simply do not have available stock.  The solution in this case are -
    1)   Cancel the posting that you made previously with movement type 972.  This cancellation will help return your stock (though with wrong serial number 1233) to PS storage location;
    2)   Cancel the posting that you have posted to move your stock back from PS to RT (again with wrong serial number).  This steps ensure the stock quantity '1' is available at RT storage location;
    3)   Make another stock transfer (with correct movement type 453 and serial number 123) from RT;
    4)   Delete the serial master record 1233 so that it can no longer be used.

    Please guide me to configure automatic creation of storage location and batch during stock count through mi09.  Eg : I got material A in storage location 1000 and got batch 123 for this material. Then when i want to do the stock count, if i enter the storage location 2000 and batch 122 for this material, then system will auto create this storage location and batch in the master data.
    I tried to configure it in OMJJ for storage location but it is not working. Please anyone guide me step by step how to configure it. Storage location and Batch.

    Create Storage Location Automatically
    In this step, you specify whether the automatic creation of storage location data is allowed for goods issues and transfer postings.
    This is advisable if you work with negative stocks and a material's first movement may be an outward movement.
    Note that the reversal movement for a goods issue, for example, movement type 202 or 262, is not considered as an issue but as a receipt. If you only use the automatic creation of storage location data for reversals of goods issues, you do not have to allow negative stocks.
    You have to allow automatic creation per plant first of all. You then have to explicitly allow the creation of storage location data for each movement type.
    The storage location data is only created if the quantity is posted to 'standard' storage location stock. It is not created for receipts into a special stock (for example, into sales order stock).
    Default settings
    The standard system is set in such a way that the storage location data is created automatically for all types of receipts (goods receipt with/ without reference, stock transfers, intial entry of stock balances, reversal of goods issues, etc.).
    Activities
    1. Enter for each plant whether the automatic creation of storage location data is generally allowed.
    2. Specify the movement types for which storage location data is created automatically.

    is still an issue that I haven't been able to get working correctly.
    As it turns out the 'New from Template' interface Word 2013 has developed is very bulky with large thumbnails and is not very customizable nor practical for an office
    that has a large number of templates.   Because I am unsatisfied with the display and performance of the 'New' template chooser I sought after a solution to change the way word creates a document from a template in another thread:
