Lock key figure with a query

Hi BW gurus,
I have created a calculate key figure 'CKF1' in the development system and added to a query 'Q1'. The same calculated key figure is presnt in the production system and is being used by some queries.
As we know that BW handles the duplicate calculate key figures on its own. However, to transport Q1 and CFK1, the system requires that SFK1 should be locked by/for Q1. I need help in doing that.
One liner: How to lock CKF1 with Q1?

this is my understanding :: u made ckf1 as global.if u make it as a local then other queries can't use this.

Vendor Due Date Analysis - which show due, not due
Vendor Overdue Analysis - show only due and analysis in time grid frame

Problem with virtual Key Figure in a query

Hi Experts,
I would like to share my problem with the virtual key figure in a query:
I have a query with a virtual key figure and when I eject the query by analyzer, the result sometimes is displayed and sometimes is not displayed (is equal to 0), with the same initials values. And when I eject the query by RSRT always display the result for the virtual key figure.
Why don't always display the result?

I think that the problem is the level of support package. We have BI AddOn 7.X (based on 7.20) support package 0.

Can not Sorting by Key Figure with Analyzer and Excel 2007

Hello experts,
We have recently changed to Office 2007, and the funcionality of Sorting by a Key Figure with BEx Analyzer is desactivated.
We have applied the patch 10 for BEx BI 7.10.
Has anybody had the same problem?

Have you got two structures in your query?
Please take a look at the following notes:
1378796 - Disabled Sorting when there is one struct. in the drilldown
1332267 - BExAnalyzer: changes in cell properties dialog / sorting
these should explain why the sort feature is no longer available in certain scenarios.

No values when using key figure with constant selection?

Hi experts,
I have built a Webi on top of a universe that is sitting on top of a Bex query.
In my Bex query I have a bunch of key figures defined that are restricted on time and category.
This Webi works fine.
Then I added an additional key figure that required a constant selection on time and on category.
When I first added this to my Webi report it was fine. But once I refreshed my report showed no values.
The report still seems to know that it is meant to retrieve values because it is bringing back the correct records - just no values. (ie I am showing time in my columns and it's showing the correct periods that are meant to have data)
I refreshed a number of times and sometimes it would bring "#TOREFRESH" in some cells but once I refreshed again the cells are blank. Sometimes it would even show me a value in a couple of cells and others would show the "#TOREFRESH"
I went back to my Bex query and removed the key figure with constant selection and the report is working again?
Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there a way to make this work?

#TOREFRESH error message appears for smart measures (measure object with aggregation type Database Delegated) when the context for the measure is changed. Refreshing data will solve the issue. Database delegated measures are used for some non-additive aggregation which webi is not able to handle properly. If you are not using such aggregation, then tou can change the aggregation type to something other than database delegated to avoid #TOREFRESH.

Add new key figure with characteristics in report painter

Hi expert,
I am create a new report painter in GRR2 under report group 8A2 (EC-PCA: Standard Reports) and i would like to create a report show on G/L amount with segment.
When i click on first column to assign "key figure with characteristics" i am not able to find characteristics "segment".
Please kindly advice how to create in new characteristics in report painter?

Hi,
"segment" is not a characteristic of classical profit-center accounting (libraries 8A*). Its a New GL characteristic, thus create a report painter report for New GL library.

Key figure with pre-calculated aggregation

Hello,
I have to model a key figure with a pre-calculated aggregation, that is, soruce flat files contain explicit values for months, quarters, halfyears and years. The key figure is a percentage (service quality) and the corresponding company department provides me with results for all aggregation levels.
I think that this case can be modeled with one InfoCube for each aggregation level and a Multicube but I have to create a high number of InfoCubes (aprox. 180).
I can get the formula that department uses, but it's possible on BW to change standard aggregation (SUM, MAX, MIN)?

Hi Alberto,
One of the ways of doing it could be -
add another field (char) to your cube called at "value Type" & assign different values to it depending upon the time value.
say Monthly - value type 1
Querter - value type 2
& so on ...
keep filling the same key figure.
at the time of reporting restrict your key figure accordingly with the value type. ( say need only montly key figure value restrict value type to "1")

Changing the formula to a key figure on a query

Hello All,
I do not have access to BEx. I would please like to know how to change the formula to a key figure "Total $" in a QD Promo Analysis query (technical name - N03_Q_D_N03_SD_502_0003). Will transaction RSRT take me to the query and eventually the formula so I can change it? If so please give me guidance as this is the first time I go into transaction RSRT. If there is another way please also give guidance.

Thank you for your response. Maybe access to BEx was the wrong word - I do have access although I was trying to avoid configuring the SAP logon to add this particular client onto because I have not done this before. My boss has helped me and I have now have "access".
Therefore from the query designer can you please guide me on how to change the formula to a key figure on a query? Input from all people is also be very much appreciated.

Key Figures With Hide can be shown showing wrong values when displayed in a query

I have a qiery with two structures in the column(cell Definition) three key figures are displayed and the rest are all hide can be displayed. However whenever i display one of the hidden key figures along with one displayed key figures it initially shoes incorrect values. Once i add another key figure (which has status always show) the hidden jey figure value gets corrected. Is it a problem with the structure? Kindly assist.For example when i display the actuals(always show) and actuals rate(hide can be shown) the values for actuals rate are wrong , however when i add the plan rate(always ahow) the values for actual rate gets corrected. Screenshots for structures below.

For this I would recommend you to check the Key figure definition in all 3 situations.
1. original display
2. display of hidden KF
3. Display of existing KF
I suspect that cell references may have some effect on the calculation as you are adding the hidden KF in analyzer directly. You can prove this only by checking Key figure definition.
Please let me know if you are facing any issue in getting the Key figure definition itself.
Also, as Cornelia suggested check if you have any constant selection applied to any of your KFs.

Currency Translation for Key Figures with Value More Than One Currency

Hi...
I have query which display key figure GL Account Balance. The currency that used for this key figure is USD and IDR. How we want display value based on selection screen? So if we input currency USD, all value that use currency IDR translated to USD and all value that use currency USD not changed. Otherwise if we input IDR, all value that use currency USD translated to IDR and all value that use currency IDR not changed.
How we do this in query designer? Thank you.
I have use currency translation :
1. (Right Click Key Figures >> Properties >> Currency Conversion Key)
2. Target Currency Using Variables Entry
but seems the result is not correct. Can anyone help me ?

Thanks for your help, but still I have problem. I have create one currency conversion type, ZXXX. This currency conversion type is using exchange rate type = "M",source curr from Data Rec, sel of targ currency with translation,
and fixed time ref = "Current Date".
Problem:
1. With this setting, i create currency translation in BEx, but the result is not same, it's like the exchange rate not using the same setting with data in ECC (I compare data with transaction fs10N). Is my setting for exchange rate not correct?
2. When I try to display GL Account Balance --> Calculated Key Figure (Total Debet - Total Credit) for period 0, the translation not working. Example if the value is IDR 1234 then the value in USD still USD 1234. Why this happen?

Sort Key Figure in a Query

I have a situation where I have to use a query (not possible to use a view - long story, but limitations on views make it so)
I have a simple query that has products on rows, and Month and Sales Value on the columns.
I want to sort the Sales value descending.
ie
product   Sales Value/8.2005
prod1      500
prod2      400
prod3      300
How do I tell the query to sort on the Key figure value descending as shown above???
I have managed to achieve this by putting a condition on that returns the top 100% of the query, however there must be a better way??? (although I am slowly losing confidence in SAP's thinking (or lack thereof))

Thanks for your response.
I am aware that you could sort by using the Properties on the context menu of the key figure, but this is no good for a default view without hacking the URL, which becomes quite tedious. (My users are not capable of entering even the simplest of variables, let alone using a context menu to sort every time they run a report.
You can also bookmark once it has been sorted, however have had problems with bookmarks disappearing in the past, and so I don't really consider this to be a solution either.
I guess I thought that this was such a fundamental requirement that it would be included, and that I was missing some setting somewhere when developing the query.

Exception color can not display at another key figure in BEx query desinger

I have a report requirement, the user want to display the average price on each month ,such as:
Jan.   Feb. Mar. Apr. etc.
100    105    104   95   ....
and the user want to compare each other months with Jan's price.
they want to display the exception color when the rise or down rate greater or less than 5%.
Now ,I can only change the output structure such as:
Jan. Feb. Rate2-1                 Mar. Rate3-1                 etc.
100   105   (105-100)/100=5% 104    (104-100)/100=4% ....
Now I can set Exception on the formula Rate2-1 Rate3-1....
But the Exception color can only display on Rate2-1,Rate3-1...
and Not the Keyfigure Feb. Mar...
I am using the BI 7.0 and the new Query Designer.
Who can help me to solve this question .

Hi,
its simply not supported for BEx Analyzer. Exception reporting on another key figure is only possible for Web Reporting.

Text elements and key figures with multiple restrictions

Hi,
I'd like to display text elements in my query according to the restricted key figures in it. There is a restricted key figure used multiple times with different base of restriction. (For exmple Sales in the past week and yesterday.)
KF restricted by <i>actual calendar week</i>, and
KF restricted by <i>actual calendar day</i>
When displaying text elements, only calendar week appears, however, if KF restricted by calendar week is removed from the query, calendar day is being displayed. (I suppose that both time characteristics are taken as filter values.)
Is that possible to display both filter values at once? Or at least calendar day meanwhile still having the week-based restriction in the query?

One option would be to not use the *MVAL keyword and load the amount and quantity in separate Data Manager package imports wherby you can easily assign the NA to the appropriate dimension. When you import amount -- assign NA to P_UNIT and when you import quantity -- assign NA to P_CURRENCY.
However I suppose you would prefer to have one import process. Unfortunately I think you will have to find an ABAP custom solution by calling the END_Routine BADI from the transformation file to deal with the currency and unit dimensions.

How to use Restricted or Calculated Key figure with Characteristics?

Hi,
Query has characteristics 'Indicator' which has values 'X' and 'Y' depending this value, the Key figure Quantity(which is always +ve) has to be shown on the report either as -ve or +ve.
Do I use Restricted Key figure if so, how? Or can I manage with a Calculated Key figure?

Hi Kamala,
You can create 2 RFKs each in which you are restricting the KF with char value X and Y. For the one that needs to be -ve, create a CKF with this RKF and multiply it by -1 in the formula. Then you can create a new CKF that will add this CKF and the other RKF.

Restricted key figure with operater symbol depending on characteristic v

We have a operating income report that shows actual, forecast and budget amounts, the variance and %variance in its columns and revenue and expense items (Hierarchy nodes, expandable) in its rows.
The %variance key figure for revenue and expenses is calculated the same way, except if it's a expense node it has to be multiplied by -1. We would like to show that key figure in one column only. What would be the easiest way to achieve that?

How do you identify the account as revenue or expense...if my understanding of your issue is correct....you must be having a GL Hierarchy (example) in the rows and you are tring to show the actual, plan by value type. To overcome with your issue, the best and definite solution that works (we did have the same approach) is to reverse the sign at the hierarchy level in rsh1 itself than worrying about it in the query.
