Logging in to read  documentation??

Before I registered to become a developer I could simply Command-Option- dbl click on a string of interest and bingo! there it was the info I needed to know. Now when I do that I have to sign in with I dev credentials then I get a message saying the my "Request is being forwarded ...".
Bottom line: I now cannot use the documentation.
The info I requested is in the upper left of the doc window, but if I select it I am taken to some Intro junk that I do not want to see.
Anyone know how I can over this obstacle??
Thanks.

I did as you suggested and this is what I see:
In Xcode > Prefs > Documentation Sets:
the 'Check for and install updates automatically was checked. I clicked on the 'Get' of
iOS 4.1 Library and the iPhone OS 3.2 Library.
The 'Get' buttons now show 'Getting'.
I have never had to do this before. I was doing great accessing the Dev Doc's before I registered, so all of this is strange to say the least. Initially I thought that perhaps these files were down for maintenance or something. Now, I'm not so sure. I was under the impression that the doc's were only available on-line, but perhaps that makes no sense really.
I just went back into my code and Command-Option(ed) a string of interest and I am now good to go. Was this because of what I just did in the Xc Pref's or is something else at play here.
One other question: Have you ever just Command double-clicked on a string? Interesting was comes up.
I appreciate the help.

Happily Windows is still running OK. Is there a way to get my usb back working? And is there a way to navigate in Windows to the file I installed and remove it? Any help appreciated.

    Yes, it does. Right to where I am supposed to log in, but since the USB is not working (either mouse or keyboard), I'm stuck. I have to shut down and restart and boot into windows.

  • Log file sequential read  and RFS ping/write - among Top 5 event

    I have situation here to discuss. In a 3-node RAC setup which is Logical standby DB; one node is showing high CPU utilization around 40~50%. The CPU utilization was less than 20% 10 days back but from 9th oldest day it jumped and consistently shows the double figure. I ran AWR reports on all three nodes and found one node with high CPU utilization and shows below tops events-
    EVENT WAITS TIME(S) AVG WAIT(MS) %TOTAL CALL TIME WAIT CLASS
    CPU time 5,802 34.9
    RFS ping 15 5,118 33,671 30.8 Other
    Log file sequential read 234,831 5,036 21 30.3 System I/O
    Sql*Net more data from
    client 24,171 1,087 45 6.5 Network
    Db file sequential read 130,939 453 3 2.7 User I/O
    Findings:-
    On AWR report(file attached) for node= sipd207; we can see that "RFS PING" wait event takes 30% of the waits and "log file sequential read" wait event takes 30% of the waits that occurs in database.
    Environment :- (Oracle- 10.2.0.4.0, O/S - AIX .3)
    1)other node awr shows "log file sync" - is it due to oversized log buffer?
    2)Network wait events can be reduced by tweaking SDU & TDU values based on MDU.
    3) Why ARCH processes taking much to archives filled redo logs; is it issue with slow disk I/O?

    We only apply on one node in a cluster so I would expect that the node running SQL Apply would have much higher usage and waits. Is this what you are asking?

  • Very high log file sequential read and control file sequential read waits?

    I have a 10.2.0.4 database and have 5 streams capture processes running to replicate data to another database. However I am seeing very high
    log file sequential read and control file sequential read by the capture procesess. This is causing slowness in the database as the databass is wasting so much time on these wait events. From AWR report

    Oracle support hasn't been of much help, other than wasting my 10 days and telling me to try this and try that.
    Do you have streams running in your environment, are you experiencing this wait. Have you done anything to resolve these waits..
    Thanks

    Welcome to the forums.
    There is insufficient information in what you have posted to know that your analysis of the situation is correct or anything about your Streams environment.
    We don't know what you are replicating. Not size, not volume, not type of capture, not rules, etc.
    We don't know the distance over which it is being replicated ... 10 ft. or 10 light years.
    We don't have any AWR or ASH data to look at.
    etc. etc. etc. If this is what you provided Oracle Support it is no wonder they were unable to help you.
    To diagnose this problem, if one exists, requires someone on-site or with a very substantial body of data which you have not provided. The first step is to fill in the answers to all of the obvious first level questions. Then we will likely come back with a second level of questioning.
    But when you do ... do not post here. Your questions are not "Database General" they are specific to Streams and there is a Streams forum specifically for them.
    Thank you.

  • Log for Meter Reading Reversal

    Hi Experts,
    Can any one suggest me is there any option in standard SAP to store the logs of meter reading reversals from EL37. Some of the billed meter readings are getting reversed in our system. I need to track the reversals that are carried out.
    Regards,
    Bala

    Hi Ganesan,
        Check SLG1 transaction. In the Transaction parameter give EL37  or  in the program give  RELEABL8. Give the from date and to date. Provide * in all the other fields. click Execute .The system will give the details of all the meter reads reversed during the inputted period.

    I cannot log into Adobe Reader through my iphone using the Adobe ID and password which work on the website.

    Hi Will,
    That's great that you could sign in now.
    I think issue you faced in signing was because email verification was not done before. And when you signed from web client, you might have received a note asking you to do verification. It solved the logging issues you were facing on iPhone as well.

    Mark,
    I would be interested in knowing how you can decouple the obpmlogviewer.exe app from the OBPM Enterprise installation.
    How can I send a simple .zip file to others and tell them: "hey, unzip (or install) this only and you will be able to read OBPM engine logs files on your local machine" ?
    The logViewer executable can't be run without an enterprise install (at least not easily decoupled), however, an alternative, would be to pass someone the .jnlp and some log files.... To do this, open up the process admin, and in the top right, is a link for 'Launch Log Viewer'. Open that, and then go to 'File - Save As', and this will save a java executable to your computer.
    I'm pretty sure you can pass that, and either an admin user and password to view 'live' logs, or just have them cancel the remote log, and open a local file....
    Adam,
    PS: I don't see any opbmlogreader.exe or .sh or .bet in the OBPM_HOME\bin directory. I am looking at OBPM standalone, and the only relevant files I can see are obpmlogviewer.exe , obpmlogviewer.lax , lax.jar. Am I missing something?
    MaxI too don't have the log reader, however I do remember it... I'm thinking the .sh might only be included in the linux distribution of enterprise, so I'm downloading that now to verify... I will let you know what I find...

  • [SOLVED] Log hard drive read/writes

    Is it possible to monitor everytime a file on the hard drive is read from or written to and to add that information to a log?
    Last edited by Chris Denton (2010-07-25 10:32:57)

    Thanks. That seems to be working quite well.
    One problem though, I notice I have to exclude /dev (otherwise it seems to get stuck in a loop like fukawi2 mentioned). This does raise a question though, I notice that it isn't actually accessing the physical disk when this happens, so I wonder, is there a way to tell it to only include events that occur on the disk?

  • Is there any workaround for log LNs in read-only env. UNEXPECTED_STATE

    I'm at 5.0.43 and encounter the same problem mentioned in The Berkeley DB Java Edition Package: BDB JE Library Version  11.2.5.0 (Release 5.0.55) Change Log
    Fixed a bug that caused an exception such as the following, when opening an Environment in read-only mode. This occurred under certain circumstances when a clean shutdown (final checkpoint) was not performed when the Environment was last used by a read-write process.
    I have below 2 questions:
    1) I want to know if there's any workaround to this problem without having to upgrade BDB-JE.
    2) Just want to make sure we will not have data compatible issue if we have to upgrade to the latest version
    Thanks for your help.

    This is a transient problem when opening in read-only mode.  It does not cause corruption or a compatibility issue.
    If you open the environment read-write and perform a normal shutdown (Environment.close), then it should be possible to open the environment read-only again.
    However, it is possible that it could happen again if the read-write process exits without calling Environment.close.  The only way to guarantee it won't happen again is to always call Environment.close in the read-write process before opening it read-only, or upgrade to the latest version of JE 5.

  • Why not use Redo log for consistent read

    Oracle 11.1.0.7:
    This might be a stupid question.
    As I understand if a select was issued at 7:00 AM and the data that select is going to read has changed at 7:10 AM even then Oracle will return the data that existed at 7:00 AM. And for this Oracle needs the data in Undo segments.
    My question is since redo also has past and current information why can't redo logs be used to retreive that information? Why is undo required when redo already has all that information.

    user628400 wrote:
    Thanks. I get that piece but isn't it the same problem with UNDO? It's written as it expires and there is no guranteee until we specifically ask oracle to gurantee the UNDO retention? I guess I am trying to understand that UNDO was created for effeciency purposes so that there is less performance overhead as compared to reading and writing from redo.And this also you said,
    >
    If data was changed to 100 to 200 wouldn't both the values be there in redo logs. As I understand:
    1. Insert row with value 100 at 7:00 AM and commit. 100 will be writen to redo log
    2. update row to 200 at 8:00 AM and commit. 200 will be written to redo log
    So in essence 100 and 200 both are there in the redo logs and if select was issued at 7:00 data can be read from redo log too. Please correct me if I am understanding it incorrectly.I guess you didnt understand the explaination that I did. Its not the old data that is kept. Its the changed vector of Undo that is kept which is useful to "recover" it when its gone but not useful as such for a select statement. Whereas in an Undo block, the actual value is kept. You must remember that its still a block only which can contain data just like your normal block which may contain a table like EMP. So its not 100,200 but the change vectors of these things which is useful to recover the transaction based on their SCN numbers and would be read in that order as well. And to read the data from Undo, its quite simple for oracle to do so using an Undo block as the transaction table which holds the entry for the transaction, knows where the old data is kept in the Undo Segment. You may have seen XIDSEQ, XIDUSN, XIDSLOT in the tranaction id which are nothing but the information that where the undo data is kept. And to read it, unlke redo, undo plays a good role.
    About the expiry of Undo, you must know that only INACTIVE Undo extents are marked for expiry. The Active Extents which are having an ongoing tranaction records, are never marked for it. You can come back after a lifetime and if undo is there, your old data would be kept safe by oracle since its useful for the multiversioning. Undo Retention is to keep the old data after commit, something which you need not to do if you are on 11g and using Total Recall feature!

    You can generally not conclude the reason for a system crash by analyzing errors that are most likely follow up symptoms. If the history of the /var/log/messages syslog file does not provide any real clues and the machine has reset instantaneously, then the machine most likely reset due to an external problem. External problems can be associated with power failure, hardware, firmware or heat issue, or problem with your VM solution. The kernel provides mechanism to further analyze a system crash, e.g. Kdump, but then it depends on the source of the issue. I'm afraid the possibilities and options to troubleshoot are far to complex to be discussed here. As far as I'm aware, there is no usable information in your post that can pinpoint the problem.

  • Console logs: Couldn't read user-specified computer name

    Last night I was experiencing frozen apps, was unable to open web pages and could not open the Apple menu to Restart computer. Somehow I eventually managed to Restart and everything seemed OK.
    When I checked in Console logs tonight, I saw this message:
    Couldn't read user-specified Computer name; using default using default "Macintosh 00145112d484. local instead"
    I found BDAqua"s reply to a similar problem dated 4/14/08 - "Try editing it in both places in Sharing Pref pane." However, I could not find what I exactly had to edit!
    I would greatly appreciate some help. Thanks.

    Hi there,
    However, I could not find what I exactly had to edit!
    In System Preferences>Sharing Pref pane...
    Then click on the edit button to verify, it'll have the .local after it here.

  • Evaluation of change logs - how to read it in ABAP ?

    Hi,
    i have a logging on a table in SAP.
    You can use report RSVTPROT for reporting the changes.
    BUT: i have to look for changes in my own ABAP. How can i use the table log ? I found some function modules
    like DBLOG_READ, but they seem to be very complex, and
    the output is a 'log data' with unreadable 255-byte-strings ???
    Is there a simply way to read the logging information in a own abap ?

    Take a look at program :
    RSTBCOUNT
    RSTBHIST
    RSTBZAHL
    and Fms
    DBLOG_CVRT_C_TO_D
    DBLOG_CVRT_C_TO_T
    DBLOG_EVAL_CALL_FOR_BC_SET
    DBLOG_EVAL_CALL_FOR_SEL_CHAP
    DBLOG_EVAL_CALL_FOR_SEL_OBJECT
    DBLOG_GET_ARCHIVES_FOR_PERIOD
    DBLOG_READ_WITH_STATISTIC
    <b> call function 'DBLOG_READ_TABLE'</b>
             exporting
                  from_day  = from_day
                  from_time = from_time
                  to_day    = to_day
                  to_time   = to_time
                  obj_list  = obj_list
                  user_list = user_list
                  log_keys  = log_keys
             changing
                  log_list  = log_list[].
    Hope this’ll give you idea!!
    <b>P.S award the points.</b>
    Good luck

  • Finding quick log in and reading the cbox on a website.

    I originally thought that this problem was a voice over problem but when I got someone to look at the screen, it is not this is a mac problem that I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with. When I goto http://z15.invisionfree.com/thealterworld/index.php? The quick loging and the cbox are not there on the mac but when I goto it with windows with Jaws for windows the quick log in is there. Why does windows show it and the mac does not? I need this to log into another website with in the website. I'm using safari on the mac.

    Hi,
    Why does windows show it and the mac does not?
    At a guess, the authors of the site only tested the site while using a Windows computer. Are you using Firefox on Windows, or Internet Explorer? If Firefox, you can also use Firefox on OS X and it can be downloaded from www.mozilla.com.
    The code on the site has [quite a lot of errors|http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fz15.invisionfree.com%2Fth ealterworld%2Findex.php%3F&charset=(detect+automatically)&doctype=Inline&group=0]. If the web site has a feedback link, you might want to point them towards this to correct their code (and mention it doesn't work on a Mac .
