Logon to OMS server failed

Hi, I have 8.1.6 running on Linux, also containing the OEM repository. I'm trying to login to the OMS on my Windows XP Professional machine. Everything's configured correctly. OMS service is running fine. The repository is also fine. However, the last step of logging in from the OEM console screen failed.
The console screen prompts for username and password, for which I entered "sysman" and "oem_temp" as usual. But for the hostname, when I entered it, it automatically appends the domain name at the end. For example, {machinename}.stmnca.adelphia.net. And I'm suspecting that this is why the login failed.

My question is, does this how it has to be. Could OMS be written to run,
say, under 9iAS? Anyway, I look forward to Release 2 -- this has been
a challenge since I just have Linux here running. yow.

I didn't have to enter the host name for the first time either. But it showed {machinename}.stmnca.adelphia.net, and I couldn't log in. So I clicked on the icon next to the Management Server box, deleted the server, and re-created a new one by entering the machine name. But upon clicking okay, the name then has the domain name appended to it. So it's like automatic. What should I do?

Logon to SAP system failed

my system logon failed .
i am not able to logon to my ides system. server is starting but while logging into the system by using user name and passward
the following error is coming
user account not in validity date
some other information is also available
logon to SAP system failed
the system description "NEW" cannot be found in the system list.
Make sure that saplogon.ini exists and choose an existing system description in the system list.

Check with your Basis. Your account validity is expired. Ask them to increase the validity.
The INI also does not exist on your system. Take the file from Basis and paste it on your PC.

I have a web page that contains a ReportViewer control. I am trying to display a report, which is an .rdl file located on the SSRS server, in this ReportViewer control. I have set the ReportPath and ReportServerUrl correctly. I am
getting an error message.
Am I suppose to use an .rdlc file rather than a .rdl file? Does the web server configuration need to use a certain account?
I am getting the following error message:

The error "The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found." means the ReportServerURL configured in the ReportViewer control is invalid.
Please follow these steps to solve the issue:
Logon the Report Server machine.
Open the Reporting Services Configuration Manager.
Copy the Report Server URL from 'Web Services URL'.
Logon the application server(in this case, it is the server that host the web page), check if we can use the URL we got from step 3 to access the Report Server. If so, please replace the ReportServerURL in the ReportViewer control with this URL. If it is
not available, could you please post the error message.
Additionaly, we don't need to provide the extension for a server report. The ReportPath should be like: /<reports folder>/<report name>

Ovmapi_4004e server failed error while creating a PVM from FTP network pat

Hi,
I'm trying to create a PVM on OVM 3.0.3 using an ftp server to use an ISO for a Linux 5 installation.
In the create virtual machine wizard for the network path (in boot options) I am specifying:
ftp://oracle:[email protected]/home/oracle/iso/OEL56/
The above link opens up in a browser and I can see the mounted iso.
I mounted the iso as:
cd /home/oracle
mkdir /iso/OEL56/
mount -o ro,loop /ovm_iso/linux/Enterprise-R5-U6-Server-x86_64-dvd.iso /home/oracle/iso/OEL56/
But Starting the VM fails with "ovmapi_4004e server failed" and "Boot loader didn't return any data". I'm assuming it can't read from the iso during boot.
Is there anything wrong with the ftp path . Are non-anonymous ftp users (oracle in this case) allowed or do I need to use anonymous logon.

Hi ,
I went a step further by using anyonymous ftp in the network path . (rather than user : password) and the VM started .
The VM boots OK from the staged iso (also tried full DVD contents) and brings up linux installation in text mode only , but for ftp installation mode after asking for the ftp server and directory (which it doesn't take on first attempt) it gives an error "Unable to read package metadata . This may be due to a missing repository directory. Please ensure your install tree has been correctly generated" . It seems its not finding the ftp directory path , although initially it was able to boot from the same ftp path specified in the Network path of the VM configuration wizard.

Import Server fails to import if repository has password

Hi,
I am using MDM SP05 Patch2 on Windows Server.
I added a login password to my repository. Now what happens is the import server fails to import files for that repository giving the error :
"[MDS=MDM Repos=Repo]: CatMgrClientWorker.Connect() failed. RC: 0xffaa0200 Invalid logon credentials"
After changing the password, i restarted MDM Server and Import Server both.
But if i remove the password from my repository, the import runs successfully.
Someone pls suggest.

Hi Danish,
The process of changing the password in .ini files works till MDM 5.5 version.
From MDM 7.1 version, the password Must be Changed only at the Auxilliary level. Changing it in the .ini file directly will have no effect.
In MDM 7.1, configuration of some repository-specific MDIS/MDSS parameters moved from the repository sections of mdis.ini/mdss.ini to a new MDIS/MDSS-specific Repository Detail pane in MDM Console.
When you connect to the Auxilliary servers, you fill find both the configurations for MDIS and MDSS:
User: The user name MDSS uses to access the MDM repository.
Password: The password MDSS uses to access the MDM repository.
Use the same password that you have assigned to Admin in the Console.
You can refer to the Console Reference guide : page number 263.
If you have already done this, can you please check the log file and let us know if you find anything.

we formatted Database server and restored all the databases from the backup. but the sharepoint site is giving below error when i access the home page.
we have 3 application servers in that two are working fine, but only one server getting the below error.

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you failed to access sharepoint site with one application server.
It was due to the MOM/SCOM Agent that has a SharePoint management pack installed, the agents Windows Service runs as ‘Local System’ and thus causes this.
The workaround is to either kill the SCOM agent service, or set it to run as a dedicated service account.
In addtion, I recommend to add the logon account of the SharePoint Timer service as a user of the SharePoint_Config database. Give role membership to the account db_owner.
You also need to add the SharePoint accounts back into sql server.

Server fail to start aft changing password of SID ADM and SAPSERVICE SID

Please help, i change password of above 2 users on windows, then server fail to start.
Even after I change back to original password, the system still didn't start.
Please help as this is urgent.

sap service is not start in windows due to password change.
click on start -> run -> services.msc
navigate to service SAPSID_<instance_nr>
right click on that -> properties -> logon
provide the correct user password here.
proceed same for SAPOsCol service

I only experience this problem when connecting using any BEx component, but, I can successfully connect to the SAP BW system from SAP gui.

An answer:Check whether the TCP/IP port 33xx is open (where xx corresponds to the system number) and start the SAP gateway.
The TCP/IP port is also partially defined in the services file as an sapgw<SID> or sapgwxx entry (where xx corresponds to the system number). The services file is in the Windows directory or in WinNT/System32/drivers/etc.

Acording to me you are faceing this issue because the entry of your backend System is not in the SLD (System Landscape Directory ) of your server.
to make this work you have to make entry in the SLD of your server
fort that plesae acess this link.

CUUC: DB Export on clustered server fails

I am doing a CUUC - Combined Ugrade & Unicode Conversion. On a single server - DEV - this works fine. Now I'm doing it on a cluster and it is failing. SAPINST is not recognizing the database server name.
I am at the at the stage where I use SAPINST to do the database copy of the source system.
Error message is: "SQL Server does not exist or access denied"
Problem is that SQL is on a virtual name "serverdb" and sap is on a virtual name "serversap". SAPINST cannot authenticate against the server "serversap". If I change SAPINST to use the server "serverdb" then SAPINST does not run the db export steps.
I'm using SAPINST 701.06.3 - sql 2005 - win 2003 - going to ECC 6.0
Please help.

If you logon to the server "serversap" - this is the MSCS system that is the active node - logon as <SID>adm and then try opening sqlcmd.
The syntax will be something like sqlcmd -S serverdb -E
-E is for trusted logon - this is what SAPInst will try to do.
You may find you need to update the SQL client or adjust the permission on the database.
sqlcmd should give you some useful error message or output.

Unable to connect to SAP gateway to RFC server failed(hostname unknow)

I am trying to create a new Model(to connect to SAP R/3 server) using the following steps:
1.Selecting Import Adaptive RFC Model
2.Entering Model name,package,default logical system names
3.Selecting the single server option and giving the details of the SAP R/3 server.
When I try to connect it gives me the following error :
-Connect from SAP gateway to RFC server failed.
Also it mentions :
"ERROR hostname 'sapR3' unknown "
Where sapR3 is the entry corresponding to the IP address in the host file.
Further I am able to establish a telnet session using the same hostname in command prompt.
I have searched the Internet for solutions, but I haven't found any yet.Any ideas?

Hi,
Please check if the hostname that you specify in the "Reimport Model" GUI of NWDS matches with the application server name specified in your R/3 system.The same can be verified by following three simple steps:
1) Open the SAP LogOn.
2) Choose the server to which you wanted to connect and right click on it to get the "properties" in the context menu.
3) Look for the value entered in the field "Application Server" in the properties window.

What causes The Report Application Server failed exception?

My environment:
Windows Server 2008 R2 8 cores 6 gig of ram.
A Windows Service running:
Oracle 11g
Oracle 11.2 64 bit client
C# 4.0 Framwork
Crystal Reports Visual Studio 2010 13.0.2000
This window service needs to create 1100 pdf documents generated by crystal reports per hour for a minimum of 8 hours straight.
These pdf files are written on the local file system.
The Windows Service runs 3 threads per core. Each thread can run up to 5 individual CR .rpt files in a sequential order.
After 4000 pdf documents created, I get the following errors.
1) The Report Application Server failed
2) Server is out of memory.
3) Not enough memory for operation.
4) Invalid report file path.
Using Windows Task Manager Resource Monitor I noticed the following:
After running 3000 pdf report requests, I stopped the processing pdf reports and noticed hundreds of
\BaseNamedObjects\CrystalReportXalanInitizeMutex(Pid of my process)
Why are they there after a close and dispose of the ReportDocument object?
I ran Reggate ANTS Memory Profiler 7.2 to check for memory leaks in my code and my code that I have control over is clean.
Why am I getting the exceptions above?
My code calls ExportReportToSream. After persisting the stream to disk, I call Close and Dispose on the stream.
