Logs for UCxn/Exchange sync

Is there a log somewhere that I can verify that Unity Connection is handing voicemails off to Exchange?  I don't have access to the Exchange server and don't want to get their MS support guys involved yet.  I just want to see if Unity Connection thinks it's putting voicemails in the user's mailbox successfully each time.  The user states that they've never received voicemails in their inbox, though their account is set up just like all other users.  I have reset the UC account, but that didn't make a difference.
Thanks,
Kyle

I already had a look on EWS and it seems that most scenarios I have in mind are possible. I think Impersonation is the keyword I was looking for, since I assumed one would need to use a local C# API to bypass user management. Anyhow, for Impersonation
I need some user id, and I found I can use smtp, SID and some other thingy I forgot the name of. My assumption now was, that I can connect to the Server using the impersonation enabled user and do somethink like GetGlobalUserList() or GetImpersonableUsers().
Unfortunatly the only thing I found is PowerShell based, but how would I do that on a 365 Account?

    Hi Nicolas,
Why i am asking about DOS attack as i am facing some issues for the 2 VIPs configured in cisco CSS 11501.
Can you help me troubleshooting the issue?
I have coming across some Load Balancing issues for the 2 VIPS configured on Cisco CSS11501.
We  have cisco CSS 11501. We have 2 VIPs configured on it for FE and BE  servers. Now Client calls to FE VIP and LB forwarding it to server and  then FE server calls the BE VIP which goes through the same LB and  forward to BE server under the VIP.When we start load test, we have  observed after 2 hour test, application team getting HTTP timeout. As  this application is used by Call center so getting timeout is bad.
Need to troubleshoot this issue if there is any problem from LB End.
Please find the attached file for VIP configs.

  • Any ideas for how to sync to Exchange 2003 - contacts and calendar

    Hi
I am still searching for a mechanism to give me the sync solution I want, which is as follows:
At work I have a PC running Outlook 2003 via an Exchange Server 2003 setup.
At home I have an iMac running Snow Leopard
In the middle I have an iPhone 3G
I want to sync Calendar and Contacts across all three machines.
I want to sync work email between the Exchange server and the iphone, but do NOT need this to sync on my iMac at home
    That's it.
At the moment I can sync email, calendars and contacts successfully between the Exchange server and iPhone, using the over-the-air Exchange Sync on the iPhone. But sadly my iMac will not sync contacts and calendars to the exchange server 2003 as Snow Leopard only supports exchange 2007.
Ironically (because I don't need this bit to work) I have managed to get my iMac to sync with my Exchange server EMAIL, by selecting the Exchange IMAP option when setting up the mail account on my iMac (as opposed to the Exchange 2007 option). However, I cannot get iCal or Address book to sync with Exchange 2003, regardless of the options I select when setting up the new accounts in Address book or iCal. I guess these just do not work with Exchange 2003
I know that I cannot use mobileme as a solution, as you cannot have two over-the-air syncs going on, and I need to maintain my iphone link to the exchange server via activesync
I also know that using itunes to sync via the cable will not work, as this creates separate contacts and calendar files on the iphone and so does not provide the syncing solution I seek.
I have tried using google to act as the middle man between my iMac and Exchange server data - getting the iMac to sync to Google Calandar and Google Address Book, and then using a third party piece of software called gsyncit to sync from google to the .ost outlook file on my PC workstation. This works some of the time, but keeps crashing and leaving me with multiple duplicates to have to sort out - much too much hard work on a regular basis.
So I still do not have a solution. Unfortunately upgrading to Exchange server 2007 is not a solution.....
    Any new ideas out there
    Thanks

I don't think there will be a solution to this. Exchange 2003 just isn't supported.

I am trying to sync my iphone with a new itunes library.  The iphone is askin for an 'exchange' password.  I don't know what this is or where to find it.

Sounds like you do have an Exchange account setup on your phone. Have a Gmail or Hotmail account? They can both be setup as Exchange accounts. Have a work email account?

  • Need help regarding the location of Exchange 2013 Logs for parsing

Hi, I am trying to create reports based on the logs that are created on my exchange server. I am using
exchange 2013. My problem is that I cannot handle every log, and instead want specific types of logs.
I need help finding the specific locations of the following types of logs (If they even exist), so that I can parse them and use them effectively:
Audit Logs (Mailbox logons, Mailbox permission changes, Mailbox property changes,
    Exchange store changes)
Mail Report Logs (Mailbox size and growth, Mailbox storage growth, Enabled users, Expired and Soon-to-Expire Mailboxes)
Exchange Traffic Reports (Details on size and amount of messages sent and recieved, Internet traffic [to and from], Traffic between exchange users)
I understand this might sound like a huge undertaking, but any help that can be provided would be appreciated.
Again, I need information on the locations of these types of logs on the exchange server, so that I can parse them. Collecting them all and searching through them is not practical for my available resources.
    Thanks,
    Matt

Audit Logs (Mailbox logons, Mailbox permission
    changes, Mailbox property changes, Exchange
store changes) ---- these are two type of logs, 1. mailbox audit logs and that is stored in each mailbox under dumpster
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff461930(v=exchg.150).aspx however you need to
    enable
it for individual mailboxes... 2. admin audit log, this is stored into a system mailbox dumpster.... http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd335052(v=exchg.141).aspx
Mail Report Logs (Mailbox size and growth, Mailbox
storage growth, Enabled users, Expired and Soon-to-Expire Mailboxes) ---- there isn't any specific log for this, you would need to create some time of script to collect this every day for you and store it somewhere... This is a good start... http://www.stevieg.org/2011/06/exchange-environment-report/
Exchange Traffic Reports (Details on size and
amount of messages sent and recieved, Internet traffic [to and from], Traffic between exchange users) ----- This you can get from message tracking log... http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124375(v=exchg.150).aspx

Failed to sync with user provisioning. Check Planning log for details.
I can still login to shared services and workspace with the same application owner account.
i also tested and verified that I can login to Essbase via Excel using this application owner acct. after i changed the password, i have stop and restarted the weblogic web services after I updated the password.
because i kept getting the error, i have reverted back the password to the original one... but i am still getting the same error message.
btw, we are using a solaris server running WebLogic9, Hyperion System 9. any help or tips would be appreciated.. thx.

    Hi,
Have you updated the datasources for each of the planning applications, you will need to update the password and probably recycle planning app server.

    Hi,
I haven't tested myself but going to test the following:
WSUS is bit cranky for now but here is what I did to fix it:
    1) Uninstall SUP role
    2. Uninstall WSUS
    4. Delete SUSDB from SQL Server if any
    5. Restart Server
    6. Install WSUS (Chose to install DB not WID)
    7. Configured Updates to be stored locally
    8. Run Post Deployment Configuration from Server manager
    9. Started WSUS Admin Console and ran Wizard (also chose to connect for the catalog sync) up to the Point where you select the products. Here I canceled the wizard without choosing any products
    10. Install SUP role in SCCM and configure the right Settings (WSUS on Server 2012 Defaults to its own admin Website and ports 8530 and 8531) and select the products you required.
    11. Check following log file if WSUS does not sync with SCCM.
    Path: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\Logs

  • IOS 4.1 on iPhone 3G has broken corporate exchange sync (works on iPhone 4)

At work we use iPhone Configuration Utility to setup corporate exchange activesync account for VIP and IT users. Our configuration uses certificate.
The last iOS update (4.1) has broken the sync for iPhones 3G.
It still work with iPhone 4 (sorry we don't have 3GS for testing !) and it worked on iOS 4.02 on the 3G.
On the 3G iOS 4.1 Mail sync the folders of the mailbox but not the messages nor calendar and contacts.
We've tried recreating the certificate but nothing changes.
Google exchange sync still works fine.
Nothing has changed on the Exchange side (HTC phones are syncing well)
Does anybody has the same problem ? and howto fix it ?
The following log was captured on the iPhone Configuration Utility on a 3G iPhone :

Same problem here. While syncing Exchange e-mail & Contacts whether over wi-fi or 3G or Edge net, phone is basically unusable until the sync completes. I have phone set to sync e-mail every 15 minutes to save battery, but it seems that e-mail and contacts sync if you open them. So, if you open contacts to look up a phone number, scrolling becomes unresponsive, as does "selecting" a name or number, presumably until sync is complete (there are about 2,000 contacts in my directory). Seems to have started with 4.1. Likewise, the phone keypad is unresponsive until sync completes. Hit a number and nothing appears to happen, so I hit it again (only to have the number repeated several times in the display 10 or 15 seconds later once sync completes). Agree it's an apparent background priority issue. A pain in the neck.
My co-workers told me they thought quickest solution was to chuck it and get a Droid. I'm not quite to that point. Anybody know of a fix yet?

  • Address Book -- Exchange Sync

I'm not sure if this belongs here or in the iSync forum.
I have NEVER gotten Address Book <--> Exchange Sync working. Documentation is almost non-existent (yes i have read the ONE support document). Under what versions (and configurations) of MS Exchange does this work?
I have Small Business Server 2003 with Forms Based Authentication set up and available. I can verify via sniffer that my Mac connects to it, I see the connection on the firewall, and the IIS logs from OWA. Yet the Mac still gives me the Cannot connect to Exchange errors.
OWA is only available via SSL (real certificate installed).
Mail.app works perfectly (yet I still have no idea what the OWA field in the account settings does).

    Launch iSync in /Applications.
    Open iSync Preferences.
    Enable "Show status in menubar."
Select in menu and hit the "Sync Now" option.
This will force a sync with local Address Book against Exchange.
Also, in the preferences for Address Book's Exchange sync configuration section, be sure to have the "Synchronize ever hour" option enabled.
Just tried and works beautifully on 10.5 against our campus Exchange 2003 servers.
Your config will vary, but see our documentation for the basic setup:

  • IPhones using activesync causing excessive transaction log growth on Exchange 2010

    Hi there.
We have around 60 iPhone or iPad users who are retrieving their emails from our Exchange 2010 SP2 servers using activesync.
Back when everyone was using the 3GS this worked just fine but late in 2011 we noticed that the transaction logs on our exchange servers were growing out of control. They should be roughly two times the volume of emails sent or received but all of a sudden we were getting fourty times as many! We only send just over 1GB of emails per week but have 50GB of transaction logs in that time.
I've spent ages trying to track down the cause and have an open TAC case with Microsoft that's been dragging on for several months now. We have recently proved that it's activesync causing the log growth - disable it and everything returns to normal - but they don't seem to be in any rush to identify a fix and I suspect their answer will be "Stop using iPhones".
Has anyone else seen this behaviour before and if so did you find a fix?
I was hoping iOS 6 might provide a solution but I'm reluctant to get everyone to upgrade because of the well publicised problems with maps and now I see that there are different Activesync bugs involving cancellation of meeting requests.
Anyone who can provide me with a resolution will win a prize as I'm at my wits end here.
    Thanks

I have seen the issue twice in two weeks.  Two different users, the commonality is both an iphone, and an ipad.  In both cases the ipad was on wifi.  I was able to turn on device logging in the ECP and in 20 minutes captured over 1 MB log on i-pad.  I disabled the i-pad via the ecp and issue disipated.
When I reviewed the log the content that was being sync'd was over 5 months old.  I instructed the user to back off to 30 days.  Device is still stable, and the 30 days is just a temporary solution.  I have opened a case with Microsoft for further review of the session log.  What is interesting is that the log is consumed with a particular fetch and message class:  ipm.note.eas  <- EAS is the Exchange Archiving System stub created by Zantaz.  I confirmed with our admin that we did not do any sync on the EAS server.  I am looking into if the User initiated an Outlook resync of stubs.

  • Exchange sync issues

I'm having an issue where my Exchange email seems to stop working on a random basis.  I have to delete my account and then re-add it in order to start receiving emails again.  My gmail and google apps accounts sync just fine.  I've checked with our IT department, and other users aren't having the same issue.  My phone worked fine up until about a week ago.  I deleted the certificate and re-installed it, just to be certain.  Any thoughts?  Any known issues I should be aware of?  Anyone else experiencing this problem?
    Thanks

I'll have to check with the IT department.  Unless they have upgraded recently, we are using exchange 2003 SP1.  I'll also ask about the test account.
As far as I know, and as far as IT knows, I'm the only one using WebOS.  The IT department only "supports" Blackberries & iPhones.  I prefer the Pre, and as long as the exchange sync works, I'll stick with it.
I have had the issue happen again several more times.  It isn't an "8 am" exactly issue.  The other morning I received emails up until 9 or so, then stopped.
I have tried just re-entering my password and that didn't seem to work.  Maybe I need to give it a little more time.  Maybe I should change my network password and see if that makes any difference.  Perhpas that is where the sync "disconnects".  Since exchange email works for iPhone users, I have to think it is a WebOS specific issue, versus an exchange issue, or perhaps I should say a WebOS - Exchange connection issue, as opposed to an "exchange" issue.
I only asked about the logs because I was involved with a previous exchange sync issue and worked with the support techs several times, and they have asked for several logs.

  • The Microsoft Exchange Address Book was unable to log on to Exchange

I am currently migrating a exchange 2007 to exchange 2013.
Exchange 2013 is installed on a seperate Windows Server 2012 server.
Exhange 2007 is installed on a  seperate Windows Server 2003 R2 server.
I have moved some mailboxes from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013 and also created some new mailboxes on the exchange 2013 server itself.
OWA, ActiveSync , IMAP are all working correctly for those mailboxes , but I am not able to connect to outlook with the exchange option (local connection).
    Outlook 2013:
When I use autodiscover to connect to the exchange server step 1 & 2 are working correctly (establishing network connection & searching for mailbox settings) but on the 3th step (logging on to the mail server) I receive the following error
The name cannot be resolved. The Microsoft Exchange Address Book was unable to log on to Exchange. Contact you system administrator if the problem persists.
When I filll in the exchange server manually (using the normal servername server.hq.corp.domain.local not the guid version) the check name resolves correctly and the profile creation is finishing ok. But when I try to open outlook with that profile it gives
    me the following errors :

    Hi,
Please run the following command in Exchange server to get Exchange GUID:
    Get-Mailbox UserA | FL Identity,ExchangeGuid
Then open Outlook, click File > Account Settings > Account Settings > Change (If you can’t open Outlook, go to Control Pane > Mail to change it). In Server Settings, import the [email protected] into the Server box and click Check Name
    to have a try.
If the name is checked successfully but also can’t open the profile, please close Outlook. In the Start menu, Run command (Windows key + R), type or paste
outlook.exe /resetnavpane  (Note: Make sure there is a space between the words.)
Then press Enter (or OK button) to restart Outlook

  • How do I retrieve call history from my iPhone 4S? It only seems to log for about a month and I need an earlier date?

How do I retrieve call history from my iPhone 4S? It only seems to log for about a month and I need an earlier date?

If you have backup of your files, you can get your call history back as long as you sync iPhone with iTunes frequently.
OK, the first thing you are required to do is close the function of "prevent iPhone from syncing automatically." in iTunes, avoiding to sync iPhone again.
Now, connect your iPhone to pc and open iTunes.
    iTunes> preferences> devices
All the backup data in iTunes will be displayed.
Then, click the File menu and select Devices > Restore from Back up
your iPhone will restart and you can find them back.
This method only can find back the latest history, to get back the old, you should turn to a third party program for help.

  • Exchange sync causing iPhone to crash?

I've been using the 2.0 software since release date and it's been geat. I've had a random downloaded app or two crash, but that's about it. No problems with the main iPhone OS.
Just recently I pulled my iPhone (first gen) out of pocket only to see it stuck at a white apple icon on a black screen. Uh oh. Tried hard resetting it, and ended up getting the connect to iTunes message. Brought it back to my desk, and it told me it was in recovery mode.
I recovered and didn't do a restore from backup. I re-entered in my exchange information which went through fine, then tried to open my contacts, and BLAMMO, back to the apple icon again. I've since restored 7 more times or so, sometimes fresh, sometimes restoring from a backup, and every time it connects to exchange, my iPhone will reset again. It doesn't appear to be contact specific, mail specific, or any single function whatsoever. If I don't input my password, everything is fine. All functions on the iPhone work flawlessly. Then I'll get daring again, go into exchange, enter my password, and back to the logo it goes. Even tried disabling contacts, calendar, and mail sync prior to entering my exchange password and ran into the same problem.
Has anyone else seen this or something similar? I've dropped my iphone a few times but nothing that would make me flinch for it's safety, and all a long while ago. The screen is actually cracked because I knocked it off of an armrest onto stone tile and it fell just the right way ... but it's been like that for the better part of a year so I highly doubt that's the problem.
I brought the iPhone into an apple store and had a genius look at it. He couldn't tell me what was going on but since the iPhone is out of warranty, simply sending it in for troubleshooting on a hardware level would cost me, so I opted to hold out. Since this is a new software revision, he suggested waiting for the next update and seeing what happens. He didn't have an old iPhone I could test on so he let me try entering the information into a 3g phone and it didn't crash it so I don't think it's something incredibly special with what exchange is pushing to the phone, either that or the 3g isn't prone to the problem.
    What I know:
Everything exchange worked fine for a week or two before this started happening.
I didn't make any configuration changes or do anything that might deserve note that could cause something like this.
It didn't happen on an iPhone 3g. Haven't tested on another first gen iPhone yet.
It happens every time i re-enable exchange and input my password. Even with contacts, calendar, and mail push all disabled and not opening any of the apps.
I have gmail configured on the phone which works fine.
There is absolutely no other problem with the phone or any of the software on it. It has been rock solid since the day I bought it ... prior to this issue I could count the number of times it's locked up on me (and simply required a reset, not a restore!) on one hand.
I don't know what to do. I live off of exchange now. I need my fix! Has anyone else encountered anything like this? I can wait for a software update and hope it fixes my problem but honestly, getting exchange working for me is so important that if this is somehow a problem unique to my phone it'll be worth shelling out $200 for a 3g. I'd like to avoid it though since I'm quite happy with my old iPhone and don't really need the new features which is why I haven't already shelled out for it!

I don't have very many contacts, and yes, I'm also seeing this problem even if I have contacts and calendar disabled.
This started happening the same day our IT team had a discussion regarding iPhone support and it was determined they did not want to support it ... from the gossip I could gather from the local IT head here there was an offhand comment of "yeah we can prevent that" but they certainly didn't prevent all exchange sync because other phones, both supported and unsupported continue to work.
I know there's a remote wipe feature for the iPhone through exchange, but don't know much else past that. Is it possible to have an automatic remote wipe upon first connection to exchange? I found this video:
    http://video.aol.com/video-detail/iphone-20-remote-wipe-feature-in-exchange/5735 75531
I get the same screen the moment I connect to exchange. The only reason why I'm not sure if this really the cause is because I tested on a 3g phone and it worked fine, and I have no reason to believe the 3g is somehow impervious to remote wipe via some software glitch otherwise I think there would be a whole big blowup about it.
I'm going to have a hard time digging up further information from our internal support team ... I'm on hosting which reports to the same CIO and I don't want to get ratted out as doing unsupported stuff! I'm still digging though for more answers.
Are all of you impacted users connecting to WORK? Have any of your workplaces issued formal anti-iphone policies or at least confirmed they ARE or ARE NOT performing a remote wipe?
