Lookup Column name

Hi All
I am new to OIM.
Can anyone tell me what is the difference between Lookup Column Name and Column Name property of a lookup field while writing lookup query?

Hi,
Lets take an example here in the post given below.
Re: Conditional forms
Column Captions = Codigo,Descripcion
Column Names = CDG_UNDD_ADM,DSCRPCN_UNDD_ADM
Column Widths = 10,200
Lookup Query = SELECT CDG_UNDD_ADM, DSCRPCN_UNDD_ADM FROM OIM_V_SAS_UNIDAD_ADM WHERE OIM_V_SAS_UNIDAD_ADM.CDG_CMPN = '$Form data.UD_SAS_01_CD_COMPANIA$'
Lookup Column Name = CDG_UNDD_ADM
Lookup Column Name will be the value which will get populated in database after you submit the form.
Column Names is the name of column you selecting.It will be also used when you are try to filter the value in lookup.
Please let me know if you have any more questions.
Regards
Nitesh

  • Lookup column names with Power Query

    Hi,
    before I go ahead and change source files, I was wondering if I can use Power Query to get a model with the following data. To simplify the example, I have the following dataset in an Excel sheet:
    In another Excel sheet, the column names are defined, for example:
    What would like to have in Power Query is one table with the column names from the second screenshot in column B. Is there a way to link these two tables together in Power Query in order to use these names as column headers in the dataset?
    Thanks!

    You can filter the list of renames against the list of actual column names with something like
        FilteredColumns = Table.SelectRows(Columns, each List.Contains(Table.ColumnNames(Source), [Name])),
    Again, the working end-to-end:
    let
    Source = Table.FromRows({{"New York", 23, 51, 732}, {"Chicago", 25, 421, 23}, {"Los Angeles", 632, 22, 423}}, {"City", "Col 1", "Col 2", "Col 3"}),
    Columns = Table.FromRows({{"Col 1", "Column 1"}, {"Col 2", "Column 2"}, {"Col 3", "Column 3"}, {"Col 4", "Column 4"}}, {"Name", "Value"}),
    FilteredColumns = Table.SelectRows(Columns, each List.Contains(Table.ColumnNames(Source), [Name])),
    ColumnsAsRenames = Table.TransformRows(FilteredColumns, Record.FieldValues),
    RenamedColumns = Table.RenameColumns(Source, ColumnsAsRenames)
    in
    RenamedColumns

  • Stored procedure to identify column names from a lookup table

    I have a working PL/SQL stored proc as below:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE PROC_TEST IS
    CURSOR GET_TEST_VALUES IS
    SELECT
    MF_master.comp_service_b,MF_master.normal_form_amount_b, MF_master.plan_id_b, MF_master.plan_percentage_b, MF_master.plan_service_b,MF_master.autoid,     ORA_master.comp_service_v, ORA_master.normal_form_amount_v,
    ORA_master.plan_id_v, ORA_master.plan_percentage_v,
    ORA_master.plan_service_v, ORA_master.autoid,     ORA_master.test_var     FROM MF_master, ORA_master
    WHERE ((MF_master.autoid = ORA_master.autoid));
    BEGIN
    FOR REC IN GET_TEST_VALUES LOOP
    begin
    if rec.test_var='SVC' then
    if (to_number(rec.plan_service_b) = to_number(rec.plan_service_v) ) and
    (to_number(rec.comp_service_b) = to_number(rec.comp_service_v) ) then
    update ORA_master set status_v = 'COMPLETE',last_updt_user_v = 'PROCEDURE',last_updt_date_v = SYSTIMESTAMP where autoid = rec.autoid;
    else
    update ORA_master set status_v = 'INCOMPLETE',last_updt_user_v = 'PROCEDURE',last_updt_date_v = SYSTIMESTAMP where autoid = rec.autoid;
    end if;
    end if;
    if rec.test_var = 'TERM' then
    if (to_number(rec.plan_percentage_b) = to_number(rec.plan_percentage_v) ) and
    (to_number(rec.normal_form_amount_b) = to_number(rec.normal_form_amount_v) )
    then
    update ORA_master set status_v = 'COMPLETE',last_updt_user_v = 'PROCEDURE',last_updt_date_v = SYSTIMESTAMP where autoid = rec.autoid;
    else
    update ORA_master set status_v = 'INCOMPLETE',last_updt_user_v = 'PROCEDURE',last_updt_date_v = SYSTIMESTAMP where autoid = rec.autoid;
    end if;
    end if;
         end;
         END LOOP;
         COMMIT;
    END;
    What I am doing here is, if test_var = 'SVC', I am comparing 2 columns, plan_service_b and comp_service_b(with plan_service_v and
    comp_service_v)
    Similarly, for test_var = 'TERM', it is plan_percentage_b and normal_form_amount_b(with plan_percentage_v and normal_form_amount_v)
    The above works fine as of now, but I am looking for a way to make this design more dynamic. In other words, these comparison columns may change from time
    to time and each time something changes, I will have to change this code. Rather, I am looking for a way to have the comparison columns in a
    lookup table that I can query to get what needs to be compared.
    My thought is :
    CREATE TABLE COMPARISON_COL_LOOKUP
    (test_var VARCHAR2(10),
    MF_column VARCHAR2(30),
    ORA_column VARCHAR2(30) );
    And then, insert
    INSERT INTO COMPARISON_COL_LOOKUP ('SVC','PLAN_SERVICE_B','PLAN_SERVICE_V');
    INSERT INTO COMPARISON_COL_LOOKUP ('SVC','COMP_SERVICE_B','COMP_SERVICE_V');
    INSERT INTO COMPARISON_COL_LOOKUP ('TERM','PLAN_PERCENTAGE_B','PLAN_PERCENTAGE_V');
    INSERT INTO COMPARISON_COL_LOOKUP ('TERM','NORMAL_FORM_AMOUNT_B','NORMAL_FORM_AMOUNT_V');
    commit;
    In this way, when tomorrow, when something changes - like new columns need to be compared for SVC or TERM, OR, if any comparisons need to
    be removed, all I need to do is to change the data in this lookup table !
    Now here's my question --- If I have this lookup table, how best can I update my above stored procedure to use this lookup table so that I don't need to
    hard-code the column names for comparison ?
    Any thoughts/suggestions are appreciated.

    While it is certainly technically possible to use dynamic SQL here, I would suggest that you make absolutely certain that you're not making things unnecessarily complicated...
    Dynamic SQL is generally substantially harder to write, debug, and maintain than equivalent static SQL. In addition, it takes a lot more work to ensure that dynamic SQL performs as well as static SQL (i.e. you now have to explicitly use bind variables) and that you're not introducing security holes via SQL injection.
    If your comparisons are likely to change infrequently, and particularly as those changes would imply changes to the underlying requirements, I would tend to be biased toward keeping the working procedure and just planning on making code changes periodically.
    Of course, not knowing your particular requirements, I certainly can't be certain that dynamic SQL would be inappropriate here, but I have seen lots of folks unnecessarily complicate their systems by building overly flexible systems that were painful to support and extend.

  • Lookup Column Library Name

    I want to create a lookup column that grabs the name of the document library.
    Can I grab the document library's name through SPD Workflow?  Or any idea how to get this?
    thanks!

    check if this helps you in achieving your goal?
    http://spdwfstringactions.codeplex.com/
    http://spdwfextensions.codeplex.com/
    if you are using list workflow then why don't you set a static variable set as document library name?
    or create a column in list having default name set as its own document library, set this column hidden in all views and get this field value in workflow

  • How to create a view based on Lookup Column?

    Hi All,
    I am working as a SharePoint developer 2013.
    When i tried to create a view based on look up column it is not showing lookup column.
    How to fix this problem?
    Please help me out here.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Santhoshi

    can you elaborate the issue? Do you mean you cannot view the column name in the filter section when creating a new view for the list or the column is not getting displayed in the view created?

  • Updating a title column in list that is a lookup column to document library in sharepoint designer workflow 2010

    Hi I have a requirement to create a list item in Contracts List when a document is uploaded in Contracts Vendor library.
    Contracts List will
    have  columns - Contract Name ( title column), Contract Number, Contract Start date and end date.
    Contracts Vendor library will have Contract
    Name,Contract NUmber.
    User will select the Contract Name from drop down ( this is look up column linked to Contract Name in Contract
    List).When user uploads document in Contract Vendor library then item should be created in Contract List with selected Contract Name and
    Contract number .
    Contracts and Contracts Vendor are related by look up Contract Name. Contract Name is internally a title column in
    Contracts List.
    Issue1 :
    Since Contract number is look up column, while I am creating item the Contract name is not getting updated in
    Contracts List. I have to use sharepoint designer workflow to achieve this task. Title colum or Contract Name shows no title.
    Issue 2:
    One
    more issue I am facing is that Contracts List has Section and Division cascaded drop downs when i select values from section and division
    dropdowns and save item in Contracts list the values are getting saved in Contract List.
    Could anyone suggest me how to handle this ? I am
    attaching the screenshots of the list and library structure. TRuly appreciate your help.
    Below are screenshots of the list structure

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to update a title column in list that is a lookup column to document library in sharepoint designer workflow 2010.
    I try to reproduce the issues as follows:
    Create a custom list named Contracts List, add columns: Contract Name ( title column), Contract Number(Number), Contract Start date(Data and Time) and Contract End date (Data and Time).
    Create a document library named Contracts Vendor library, add columns: Contract Name(Lookup), Contract NUmber(Lookup).
    Create a workflow associated to the Contracts Vendor library.
    Add action: Create List Item.
       5. Start the workflow automatically when an item is created.
       6. Upload a document, select the Contract Name and Contract NUmber, the workflow will be started automatically.
       7. Open the Contracts List, an item will be added with the Contract Name and Contract Number in the Contracts Vendor library.
    Thank you for your understanding.

  • Lookup Table Name for Sale Order Types

    Hello,
    What's the Lookup table name that contains the "meaning" for the column ORDER_TYPE_ID in the OE_ORDER_HEADERS_ALL table?

    Thank you Srikanth!

  • Title and description for lookup column

    Hopefully this can be simple.  I am working on development in SharePoint 2010 but I do NOT think that it is specific to 2013 or 2010, I am migrating to 2013 in a month or so (hopefully!)
    Requirement:
    Display lookup list for Server Name (Title) and Server Description (Description)
    Problem:
    I have a custom list with 2 columns, title and description, both text fields.  I am using that list as a lookup to my other custom list.
    The graphic below has 2 windows squished into it.  The middle window is the list pulling the data from, the lookup list.
    The graphic to the right is the issue that I am running into.  I create the column and hopefully I can use the lookup column with the title column AND THEN the additional fields for the Description!  It DOES appear, but AFTER I fill out the form.
    The form is on the left part of the graphic below.
    I see the server names or "Title" but I can't even "hover" over it and see the description!  I don't know how to present the description lookup in the form when I do "new item."  Is this something that 2010 / 2013
    can do and OOTB or do I need designer? I don't code so I can't use VS.
    Thank you!
    Matt

    Thank you, I created a calculated column, using Microsoft's recommendations below, and Scott's!
    Calculated Field Formulas -
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb862071.aspx
    The result shows below.  the 3rd column is the Server and Description, with the calculated column, "merging" the two text into one, with a space and a dash in the middle to separate them.  The list is below and the "look up".  The black section
    is my new form or add new item, where I would select multiple servers based on their server name and their description.

  • Setting Column Names in Dynamic Pivot Query

    Hi all,
    I'm having trouble setting column names in a dynamic pivot query and was wondering if someone could please help me figure out what I need to do.
    To help you help me, I've setup an example scenario in my hosted account. Here's the login info for my hosted site at [http://apex.oracle.com]
    Workspace: MYHOSTACCT
    Username : DEVUSER1
    Password : MYDEVACCTAnd, here is my test application info:
    ID     : 42804
    Name   : dynamic query test
    Page   : 1
    Table 1: PROJECT_LIST         (Alias = PL...  Listing of Projects)
    Table 2: FISCAL_YEAR          (Alias = FY...  Lookup table for Fiscal Years)
    Table 3: PROJECT_FY           (Alias = PF...  Intersection table containing project fiscal years)
    Table 4: PROJECT_FY_HEADCOUNT (Alias = PFH... Intersection table containing headcount per project and fiscal year)Please forgive the excessive normalization for this example, as I wanted to keep the table structure similar to my real application, which has much more going on.
    In my sample, I have the "Select Criteria" region, where the user specifies the project and fiscal year range that he or she would like to report. Click the Search button, and the report returns the project headcount in a pivoted fashion for the fiscal year range specified.
    I've got it working using a hard-coded query, which is displayed in the "Hardcoded Query" region. In this query, I basically return all years, and set conditions on each column which determines whether that column should be displayed or not based on the range selected by the user. While this works, it is not ideal, as there could be many more fiscal years to account for, and this is not very dynamic at all. Anytime a fiscal year is added to the FISCAL_YEAR table, I'd have to update this page.
    So, after reading all of the OTN SQL pivot forums and "Ask Tom" pivot thread, I've been able to create a second region labeled "Dynamic Query" in which I've created a dynamic query to return the same results. This is a much more savvy solution and works great; however, the column names are generic in the report.
    I had to set the query to parse at runtime since the column selection list is dynamic, which violates SQL rules. Can anyone please help me figure out how I can specify my column names in the dynamic query region to get the same column values I'm getting in the hardcoded region?
    Please let me know if you need anymore information, and many thanks in advance!
    Mark

    Hi Tony,
    Thanks so much for your response. I've had to study up on the dbms_sql package to understand your function... first time I've used it. I've fed my dynamic query to your function and see that it returns a colon delimited list of the column names; however, I think I need a little more schooling on how and where exactly to apply the function to actually set the column names in APEX.
    From my test app, here is the code for my dynamic query. I've got it in a "PL/SQL function body returning sql query" region:
    DECLARE
      v_query      VARCHAR2(4000);
      v_as         VARCHAR2(4);
      v_range_from NUMBER;
      v_range_to   NUMBER;
    BEGIN
      v_range_from := :P1_FY_FROM;
      v_range_to   := :P1_FY_TO;
      v_query      := 'SELECT ';
      -- build the dynamic column selections by looping through the fiscal year range.
      -- v_as is meant to specify the column name as (FY10, FY11, etc.), but it's not working.
      FOR i IN v_range_from.. v_range_to  LOOP
        v_as    := 'FY' || SUBSTR(i, 3, 4);
        v_query := v_query || 'MAX(DECODE(FY_NB,' || i || ',PFH_HEADCOUNT,0)) '
          || v_as || ',';
      END LOOP;
      -- add the rest of the query to the dynamic column selection
      v_query := rtrim(v_query,',') || ' FROM ('
        || 'SELECT FY_NB, PFH_HEADCOUNT FROM ('
        || 'SELECT FY_ID, FY_NB FROM FISCAL_YEAR) A '
        || 'LEFT OUTER JOIN ('
        || 'SELECT FY_ID, PFH_HEADCOUNT '
        || 'FROM PROJECT_FY_HEADCOUNT '
        || 'JOIN PROJECT_FY USING (PF_ID) '
        || 'WHERE PL_ID = ' || :P1_PROJECT || ') B '
        || 'ON A.FY_ID = B.FY_ID)';
      RETURN v_query;
    END;I need to invoke GET_QUERY_COLS(v_query) somewhere to get the column names, but I'm not sure where I need to call it and how to actually set the column names after getting the returned colon-delimited list.
    Can you (or anyone else) please help me get a little further? Once again, feel free to login to my host account to see it first hand.
    Thanks again!
    Mark

  • Lookup Column in Same List

    Hi all,
    I know that this goes against all the laws of circular references, but is there an out of the box method to lookup a column value in the same list (ex. have a field for sub project that pulls from project name)?
    Regards,
    Kelly
    Personal Blog: http://thebitsthatbyte.com

    That's a good idea, but I have had problems with the Calculated Columns losing their formula. Instead, I will create a separate list that a workflow writes a value to post creation of a parent item. Then using a lookup column, I will have the values
    I need.

    Hi
    I am doing DataBase Lookup in XI
    First i have created a  Table in Database( CheckUser) which has two fields UserName and PhoneNumber and then i have created
    I have created one Communication Channel For Reciever Adapter .
    I have given the parameters like this
    JDBC Driver : com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
    Connection : jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://10.7.1.43:1433;DatabaseName=Ravi;
    UserName.... sa
    password.... sa
    persistence : Database
    Database Table Name : CheckUser
    Key column name and Value column name i left blank and activated
    and then
    I have created
    Data Types : Source ...... UserName
                      Destination.... PhoneNumber
    Message Types
    Message Interfaces
    In Message Mapping
                  I have created one User Defined function DBProcessing_SpecialAPI().This method will get the data from the database....
    In this function i have written the following code
       //write your code here
    String query = " ";
    Channel channel = null;
    DataBaseAccessor accessor = null;
    DataBaseResult resultSet = null;
    query = "select Password from CheckUser where UserName = ' " +UserName[0]+ " '  ";
    try {
         channel = LookupService.getChannel("Ravi","CC_JDBC");
         accessor = LookupService.getDataBaseAccessor(channel);
         resultSet = accessor.execute(query);
         for(Iterator rows = resultSet.getRows();rows.hasNext();){
              Map  rowMap = (Map)rows.next();
              result.addValue((String)rowMap.get("Password"));
    catch(Exception e){
         result.addValue(e.getMessage());
    finally{
         try{
              if(accessor != null)
                   accessor.close();
         }catch(Exception e){
              result.addValue(e.getMessage());
    And the i have mapped like this
    UserName -
    > DBProcessing_SpecialAPI----
    >PhoneNumber
    when i am testing this mapping i am getting the following error

  • How to Prevent duplicates on Combination of Lookup columns in sharepoint 2010 using infopath 2010 form.

    Hi All,
    I have list with some Lookup columns like  City, Pin, and Text Column Name. All these are required columns.
    Now I want to prevent duplicates while submitting InfoPath form if a Combination of  City,Pin & Name. (like a Composite primary in Database is used.)
    Can some one help me on how to achieve this using InfoPath  2010 Rules, writing  rule in Xpath.
    Thanks in Advance.

    1. Add a secondary data connection to the list where the form will be submitted.
    2. Prior to submit via rules, set the query fields in the above connection: City, Pin & Name with values entered in the form. Query the data source and check if the result has values.
    3. Show error messages accordingly if exists else continue with Submit.
    This post is my own opinion and does not necessarily reflect the opinion or view of Slalom.

    meet the lookup column threshold.
    If I run the query below it all works as expected:
    _api/web/Lists/MyList/items/?$Filter=Created gt '2015-03-10T05:00:00.000Z' and Created lt '2015-03-17T18:25:00.712Z'&$select=Lookup1/Id&$expand=Lookup1
    If I run this query it does not work:
    _api/web/Lists/MyList/items/?$Filter=Created gt '2015-03-10T05:00:00.000Z' and Created lt '2015-03-17T18:25:00.712Z'&$select=Lookup1/Title&$expand=Lookup1

    The lookup column "Lookup1" is using Title as the column's information and this should be working.  What is interesting is that changing the lookup threshold has no effect on this but raising the list item view limit does make it work.  The
    date range is selecting less than 5000 items.  So what am I missing here? I just want the Title for the lookup column and my query has about 10 items in it.

    Looking through the logs the error is thrown due to the following error messages:

    The very first message states that it is unable to add join related fields, what could be the possible cause of this?  As you can see rather than specifying a date range which I know contains less than 5000 items, even filtering based on ID gives the
    same result.

  • Batch Operation for LookUp Column in SharePoint

    Hi
    I am trying insert bulk data into list.
    For that I am using Batch Process .But the problem i am facing is if the column of type is "LookUp" I am not able to apply batch
    Can you please help me like "What is the column format in Batch Operation for "LookUp column.
    Thanks
    Siddartha

    Hi Siddartha,
    The structure of the look column is id;#Value, so you can set the lookup column like this:
     <Method ID='2' Cmd='New'><Field Name='CustomerID'>1;#Cust_1</Field></Method>.
    You can refer to the link below:

    Best regards.

  • Can't get lookup column filter to work

    I have a backlog list (list 1) that is essentially a backlog of reqs.  I also have a task list (list 2) that is tasks tied those reqs.  In this second list,  I have a lookup column where user can select from the list of reqs.  I then
    pull in two additional fields associated with that req - release date and team.    In list 2, I can filter on req - no problem. I can filter on release date - no problem.  Filtering on team though seems to have issues that i can't figure
    out for the life of me.  In the filter drop down, it does show the team names that have are  "in use" in the view, but when I select on 2 of 3, nothing shows up - even though I clearly see rows with that team when no filter is on.
    (the third team does work though shows up twice in column filter choice which I can't figure out why either). I've tried changing the team for an item, etc and still doesn't work.   See attached image - you can clearly see a row and filter have "product
    migration" team...but when i select it - nada!

    Anyone have any thoughts on this?
