Low Battery indicator issue

When my battery became low on my blackberry 8330, the amber LED began to blink, indicating the battery needs to be charged.  I turned off the device but didn't charge it.  When I turned the device on several hours later, the amber LED blinked only for a few moments then stopped, but the battery indicator on the screen still stated that the battery was low.  I turned the device off then back on again, and the same thing happened, the amber LED flashed only for a moment then stopped.  I then got a message on the e-mail the device is linked to, causing the red LED to flash, but when the red LED started flashing, the amber one started flashing too.  I've seen several messages about the inconsistancy of the LED indicators, but haven't heard anything about the battery indicator.  Anyone know what the issue is or how to resolve it?

Try a reset by pulling the battery leave it out for 30 sec and then re-install it.  If this does not correct your problem, I would go to the store where you bought it and ask to try another battery to see if this corrects the problem.  If not, swap the device out for a new one.  you get a one year mfg warranty aganist defects of this type.

  • Why can't apple put a simple audible low battery indicator on the iphone?

I get so tired of having my iphone shut down on me mid-conversation. My screen is black and up to my ear; my phone is in my purse while I'm talking on my blue tooth and also has a black screen; or my phone is on my hip with a black screen while I talk with my earphones. How in the heck I am going to READ a low batter indicator on my phone behind a black screen? That information would be very helpful if I weren't on my blue tooth. Actually, that 2% low battery notification would very helpful to me if my phone weren't up to my ear with a black screen. Why can't they put a simple audible low battery indicator on the phone?

" How in the heck I am going to READ a low batter indicator on my phone behind a black screen?"
    You cannot.
" Why can't they put a simple audible low battery indicator on the phone?"
They can.  They have simply chosen not to do so.

  • Apple Bluetooth / Wireless Keyboard Low-Battery Indicator?

    Hi All,
Does the iPad show a low-battery indicator when the Apple wireless keyboard is running out of juice? I know OS X is supposed to, but not sure about iOS. I plan to use my keyboard for meetings and depositions where I'd be in a tight spot if I ran out of juice unexpectedly.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
No, but, "The Apple Wireless Keyboard requires just two AA batteries — one less than the previous model. And its intelligent power management system conserves battery life. *So when you’re not using the keyboard, it automatically powers down. The instant you start typing, it turns back on*. Use the on/off switch when you're away from your computer for a long time."

Carry a spare set of AA batteries just in case.

  • Low Battery Indicator - Please Turn It Off

How do you turn off the on-screen low battery indicator (other than changing the batteries in my remote which is working fine)?
I have STD box.  I don't have an HD Box or a DVR (just like most FIOS subscribers).  How has this update benefited us?
    Thanks ,

After you press a button on the remote you use with the set top that shows the "low battery" indicator on screen; does the top red LED on the remote flash multiple times?  If so, this is the remote indicating to you that the batteries are low, both by flashing that LED and by sending a code to the set top so IMG displays that indicator.
Supposing you could disable the indicator in IMG, then you would just end up with a non functional remote in a couple days.

  • Mighty Mouse wireless: changing the setting of the low battery indicator

    Hi,
It seems that the low battery indicator for the wireless mighty mouse appears when the battery level goes under 30%. Is it possible to change this setting, e.g. make it occur when it passes the 5% of remaining battery?
    Thanks!

I fully agree with Tibo. I'd like to change this setting as well.
This low battery warning may be a good heads-up for someone who feeds their MM cheap batteries but, I got two Energizer AA Lithium batteries in mine and it literally "keeps going and going..." consistently for weeks while constantly receiving the annoying low battery warning.
Come on, users a perfectly capable of deciding what is fair-warning on the life of batteries we feed the MM.

  • Alternating blinking Apple icon and low battery indicator

My nano has been displaying an alternating blinking Apple icon and a low battery indicator. I have tried to reset it, but it doesn't change. I have connected it via USB to my computer for several hours, and I have connected it to an AC charger for a couple hours. Still no change.
    Any ideas?

    1. Reset iPad
    2. Try another wall socket
    3. Try another cable (make sure it's an original Apple cable)
    4. Try another charger (make sure it's an original Apple charger)

  • Annoying bluetooth low battery indicator

How do I turn off the Bluetooth flashing low battery indicator in the menu bar? My mouse batteries are not low, but the bluetooth indicator has been flashing for several days, and every once in a while, I get a popup warning me that the mouse will stop functioning (which it doesn't).
I have turned off the "show bluetooth status in menu bar" option, but the low battery warning overrides it. I do not have any other bluetooth peripherals connected.

By the way, no. The problem is not like world hunger.
But I put up with a blinking light on my Apple 17" lcd monitor for years. That one, thankfully, I could cover with a sticky note. Unsightly, yes. Distractingly annoying, less so than having a computer named Mr. Blinkey!
So, when I bought my beautiful new Mac Pro recently, I bought a whole new Cinema display just so I wouldn't have the problem of something on my screen constantly blinking at me! However, to my horror and eternal suffering, my beatiful new screen blinks at me from the annoyingly unwanted bluetooth menu bar. Worse, I can't even use a sticky note to cover it!
Ugh! Apple! So close, yet so close...

  • Wireless Keyboard Low Battery Indicator

I just purchased a new HP Touchsmart 300-1017 PC.  I got the "Low Battery Indicator" message for the wireless keyboard after taking it out of the box so I put new batteries in.   Now, two weeks later, I got the same message.  How long should the batteries last?

I get that keyboard batteries low warning on my screen sporatically.  I just click it away since I know the batteries are too new to need changing.

  • 3GS Battery indicator issue

    Hello,
I have been encountering a wierd issue with the battery indicator on my 3GS. I charged my phone from a completely depleted battery last week, but after I had left it to charge over night the battery percentage displayed 98% but the battery bar itself showed a completed charge (wall plug over the bar). I usually do a complete drain every other week. I figured oh it must just be a glitch so I pulled the charger out and started my day.
Last night however, I charged my phone from about 30% to what should have been full charge (about 7 hours). But this morning the phone read 100% charge on the percentage indicator and battery bar; as soon as I removed it from the charger it immediatly dropped to 98%.
My settings that drain the battery are below
    Wifi-off
    Bluetooth-off
    3g-On
    Auto-Brightness
Have any of you had similar experiences?
    Thanks in advance

i did see odd battery indicator issues before i did a restore and setup as new phone... but... i have also read that it might indicate a battery issue on your device as well...
if you have not and don't mind loosing sms logs, call logs, and app data you can try a restore and setup as new phone (remember to backup your contacts, calendar and move out any photos/videos you have stored)
if it still jumps around with a restore as new phone then it is most likely a hardware issue (battery issue connection issue etc)
you can just make an apointment with the apple store... they do have a diagnostic tool to see actual battery performance (it might let them see if its a software glitch or hardware) worst case they can restore it and setup as new phone for ya (remember to make sure your contacts, calendar and pics are synced before your trip to the store if you do go)

  • Very Low Battery / Resetting issue - lets make Apple fix this!!!

There appears to be a lot of posts within the last few weeks about the "Please wait, very low battery" message and constant resets EVEN ON A FULL BATTERY. I too have begun to experience this problem. I can only think that there is some kind of bug that has been introduced with the latest firmware and itunes combo. Can anyone that it experiencing this issue, PLEASE put your experiences in a reply to this thread. As an addition to my post below, I have also heard that using the prior version to the latest Itunes in conjunction with the latest may also be the root of this problem. I have been using two itunes, the latest at home and a slightly older one at work. Can anyone shed anymore light on this possibility?
This is from a reply post I made earlier tonight:
I noticed my ipod 5th gen 60 gig was strangely in the red on battery life, so I connected it to my macbook pro and answered a few emails. I then noticed out of the corner of my eye that the ipod resetting. Weird! I had never seen it do this while attached to the computer. So, I went back into itunes and it said something about not disconnecting the device physically - some how the pod had reset and disconnected itself. So, I re-attached it, and moments later, it reset again. Instead of attaching to the computer, I attached the pod to a wall powered usb charger (non-official). After a few minutes, the pod said it was fully charged (weird), so I disconnected it. I thought I should check to see if it was playing music ok and started playing a song. It seemed ok, so I skimmed through a few tracks. Soon the ipod reset itself and started to continuously reset as if in a loop. After several reset attempts (menu and select) I was presented with a "Please wait, very low battery" message screen...
Hmmmm. I thought I should attach it to the wall charger and leave it to re-charge, thinking that the battery must be just plain out of juice. I got past the very low battery message and into the menu with a reset. Strangely, the battery showed as being fully charged... Disconnecting the pod and playing several songs again, the unit reset and showed the low battery message... Leaving the pod attached to the wall charger, even though it said it was fully charged, didn't remedy the problem. More resets when playing a song or two.
Initially I thought that it was a faulty battery. But, before I jumped to conclusions, I googled the above message. This showed me that this is a reasonably common issue with several possible causes. Some of the suggestions to remedy the issue included:
    * Reset the ipod - nope, same problem
    * Restore the ipod - did this first up... No go
    * Put the unit into disk mode attach and restore - nope
    * Drain the battery completely and then re-charge on wall charger - nope
    * Open the unit, disconnect the battery, and re-attach - I really thought this would work, but nope.
    * Disconnect unit, insert wall powered usb, start unit to reset it - nope
    * Buy a new battery - NOPE, same thing keeps happening even with a FRESH battery!!!
    * Put the unit into diagnostic mode and then charge... This kind of worked in the fact that it actually charged the new battery...
It appears to me that the battery status is all out of whack. The OS seems to think that the battery is completely full, and hence, doesn't take a charge. Equally, even though it says there is a full charge, after the unit plays one or two tracks (requiring a few harddrive seeks I suppose) it will exclaim that there is no battery remaining, reset loop and eventually enter "very low battery" mode. It does the latter even if the battery is new and appears to have been charged (via the diag screen).
So, where to from here... Well not entirely sure, but I reckon that what I have to do is drain the fully charged battery WHILE the unit is active. Perhaps then, it will re-calibrate its internal battery meter... Right now, I have been able to put the pod into disk mode and it is actually showing a battery icon WITHOUT the fully charged symbol (the little plug icon). It also shows a slight depletion in battery remaining. My hope is that this depletion will get bigger over the next few days and, if it does, it may right the funny loop-like state it is in.
Has anyone got ANY other ideas as to how to fix this problem. As a side note, I updated the pod to firmware 1.3 recently. I am considering a restore using an older firmware. Where can I track down 1.2? Can I press the option key and click restore to choose an alternative restore image from the 1.3 already in itunes?
Any suggestions/help is EXTREMELY welcome as I am almost about to give up...

I think my problem actually might be the same ... the other day it was full battery one minute, and the next it was saying "Please connect to power, low battery". I wasn't near a power source, so i just left it. Then it started making this funny whirling sound and the screen went silvery blank, so i figured it was the hard drive crashing. I hooked it up to the computer overnight and the next day I could at least get the apple on the screen to show up and the computer would recognize it somewhat. When it's hooked up to the computer it goes from the apple screen, to please wait, very low battery, to the regular screen with a fully charged battery sign, to the "do not disconnect" screen with the battery charging.. When the "do not disconnect" screen appears, sometimes the computer recognizes it. But when it comes up it first says that an unknown error (-124)has occured and the ipod cannot be synced. And then it says the disk cannot be read or written to. After I press okay again, the screen goes to the apple and back to the please wait very low battery screen... and then in tunes it says the ipod cannot be synced because the required folder cannot be found. Then it comes up again and says iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPod. Go to the Summary tab in iPod preferences and click Restore to restore this iPod to factory settings. Now I would try to do that, but I don't have a summary tab in the preferences, if the preference tab they refer to is under the edit section. For the couple of seconds the my ipod settings appear on the screen, the files on it aren't even the same as before. It says I only have 7.78GB of only songs on my 30GB. Not only do I have more than 7.78 GB of songs normally on my ipod, I have videos and games that also should appear. Everytime it reconnects however, the GB go down? Now its at 6.07GB
It also makes this beeping sound randomly. Sometimes it when the ipod goes into the very low battery screen, but sometimes it beeps during the apple screen, or sometimes during the do not disconnect screen.
The most frustuating thing for me is that about mid-March I sent my iPod away to get a new battery before my warrantee was up. I got it back the first week of April, good turn around period, but instead of getting my old ipod back, I got a refurbished one. Now this is happening to it, and my warantee is already up. I know it can't be the battery that's wrong with it, there may be something wrong with it, but I'm sure they know better than to give me an ipod with a dead ipod.
    Now it's coming up as 5.77 GB . . .
When it first happened, I was hoping that I could simply hook it up to the computer and click the restore button. This is impossible however because I can never get to the restore button before the computer unrecognizes my ipod.

  • Another battery indicator issue-- not 1.1.1 related

Sorry if this is a repeat. I searched for this and didn't find it, though it seems like something that should have been reported before. Am both asking if others have the issue/how it was solved and offering my experience as possible help.
3 week old phone. Firmware 1.0.2 (never updated to 1.1.1, not a downgrade). Never hacked.
Phone has been working fine, was getting 100% charge, plug icon achieved w/ full green glowing icon when charged. Usage after my last full charge: probably 2-3 hours phone, frequent mail, some wi-fi, standby for 2.5 days.
Bluetooth on all the time, wi-fi only on during use, screen brightness turned down to ~30%, manual mail checking only, usually in excellent reception areas so phone not constantly searching for signal.
Put phone to sleep last night w/ battery indicator @ ~50%. When tried waking phone this morning it, for the first time, showed message saying phone needed to be plugged in and showed the large battery icon with a very thin red line representing charge remaining and turned itself off. So I plugged the phone into the wall adapter and the charging icon came on with a sliver of red (slightly wider than when not plugged in).
Did some reading online and unplugged the phone maybe 10 minutes after plugging it in-- with charge icon still showing thin red area, unchanged from initially. After unplugging the small menu icon had a red sliver of charge showing but the phone did not automatically turn off, though that was for only maybe 10 seconds or so.
Then I did a reset w/ menu-sleep buttons. After the phone rebooted there is maybe 40% of battery life on menu indicator. I replugged the phone into the wall charger for a better look and the large icon shows about the same-- 40%. I unplugged phone immediately and have been monitoring it for about an hour. Still at roughly 40% and phone function working normally as does everything else, including video-- though that drains battery indicator pretty quickly.
I know that there is rapid charge when first plugged in but I don't think that 10 minutes would take it from the 10% shutoff point to this degree of charge. My guess is that it's an intermittent problem with the phone's internal battery sensing abilities which gets reset with a phone reset.
The good news is that the phone is functional when it thinks it's not. The bad news is that a) a reset is a mild pain in the neck. (Could be that just fully turning the phone off and restarting it would have worked but I didn't try that. Other than losing usage data I don't know what else one loses with a reset.)
and b) it is unnerving to not be able to trust the battery indicator, especially when one isn't near a convenient charging option.
So, anyone else had this same issue? Thoughts, fixes?
    Thanks
    Steve

  • IPad 3rd gen battery indicator issue

    Hi.
My iPad 3rd gen started behaving odd not long after updating to iOS 6.1.3. While discharging, as soon as it hits around 30% mark the battery indicator makes an instant drop to around 20% mark. Every single time.
The time usage is still very good, almost 14 hours from 100% to 0. (I don't use games or push notifications)
I've already done a restore and set as new iPad and the issue dissapeared for only 1 charging cycle, then reappered again.
I've also done 3-4 'calibrations' for the battery, meaning completely running it down and then charging it to 100%. Nothing changed.
I've restarted it several times by holding both home and power buttons and still no good.
I also mention my iPad is in perfect shape, a mechanical issue is out of the question. Regarding the charging cycles, despite using it daily, I suppose I haven't passed 100 cycles, so it's not even near its life span.
Any answers that can help me understand this anomaly are welcomed.

I tested using two Battery Utilities (now battery says 98%) Boost Magic says 100% and Battery Magic says 96% so here is the summary none agree.
    iPad indicator 98%
    Battery Magic 99%
    Boost Magic 99%
Not sure which is correct or why it read 95% when I looked at it this morning then reverted to 100% after turning off and then on again.

  • How can I stop the low battery indicator from flashing!?!?!?

    Hi -
My mouse's batteries are low. But they take a week before they actually give up completely. During that time the bluetooth low batter indicator flashes. I've tried going into preferences and telling it not to show, but no luck.
Isn't there some way to tell it to shut up? I just don't see a reason to change the batteries a week early if it works just fine during that time...
    Thanks!

    Annoying huh?
What's worse is it takes a week for the batteries to actually die so the mouse is unusable...

  • N95 Battery Indicator Issue

    Hello,
It seems that my battery indicator for my new N95 has stoped indicating anything! Keeps showing a fully loaded battery until it completely drains from usage...
Has anyone else had this problem? I already upgraded the firmware and the problem remains...
    Any advice or comment?
    Thank you in advance,
    Ricardo

    No problem my friend.
If you have already flashed your phone to the V11 software that was released a few weeks ago, then just follow this procedure again and put the same software on the phone again. However, after you flash it, perform a factory reset.
Go: Tools --> Settings --> General --> Factory settings.
This should clean out and reset the phone back to the way it was first delivered.
You will have to re-install your maps again and put all of your software on again, but I did this and things seem to be working for me.
    Good luck.

  • Battery indicator issue.

Just got a new nano. Put it on the dock, syncd everything, downloaded new software, etc. Now the battery indicator on the ipod shows about half charge but when I put it back in the dock, itunes shows full charge and ipod isn't charging. What gives?

    Try this :-
    1. Make sure the hold switch is not operated (i.e. you can press and operate the iPod buttons).
    2. Press and hold the Centre and Menu buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen, then release the buttons. This will reset the iPod, it will not lose any of your content.
