Lower Deduction TDS

Hello Experts
I have one scenario to be created for dedcution of TDS.
if the amount is below 50000/- TDS to be deducted at 5% rate and if it is above 50000/- TDS to be deducted at 10% rate.
can anyone explain me how to make this scenario.

Hi
Now In Withholding Tax Code i have maintained like this
withholding tax type :dd
withholding tax code : dd
off. w/tax key : 194c
under base amount --percentage subject to tax : 100%
under calculation
selected the check box w.tax form
In formulas for calculating withholding tax
To Base Amount : 70,000                  whld tax : 0.5%
To Base Amount : 9,999,999,999      whld tax : 10%
Tried to pay 1,00,000 and now system is calculating tds as (0.5% on 70,000 = 350) + (10% on 1,00,000 = 10,000) which is 10,350
Actually if Amount is less than or equal to 70,000 it have calculate 0.5% and if it is greater than 70,000 it have to calculate 10%.
Let me know help me how to proceed.

Please help me to solve the problem
How to make advance payment by deducting TDS?
SAP advised to follow Down Payment but problem is that If we use AP Down Payment Invoice ,
balance of advance payment never shown in Vendors Ledger .
If we make payment through AP Down Payment  Request we haven"t any provision for deducting TDS
    How to solve this problem...?
    Regards
    Janeesh

    Hi Gordon,
I also have the same Issue with my client. I agree with you Down payment request is not formal financial document at the same time I cannot use the Down Payment Invoice because the client don't want to pass the financial entries at the time of Down Payment Invoice. I am going with Down payment Request but, I need to deduct TDS in the Total request amount and I have to receive the payment on total Request Amount (after TDS) and the TDS financial entries should pass on at the time of final Invoice, I have one more question why the Withholding Tax field is available in Down payment Request document and row level?, I tried its not working and updating any value.
Please let me know you valuable solution

  • How to deduct tds on advance payment IN SAP

How to deduct tds on advance payment to vendors.

    Hi Kishore,
You need to define the Extended Withholding Tax type based on payment. Assign WHT code to WHT type and complete the relevant configuration. Below link will help you to config WHT in SAP.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_470/helpdata/en/e5/0781474acd11d182b90000e829fbfe/content.htm
Assign WHT type and code in vendor master data.
Standard SAP will start deducting WHT on downpayment.
    Hope it helps.
    Thanks,

  • How to deduct TDS while making an Outgoing Payment

Company wants to deduct TDS while making an outgoing payments to Contractors / Jobworkers / Transporters.... can anyobody guide me
Edited by: Marc Riar on Feb 19, 2008 10:23 AM

    Hi sanjay,
For deducting the with holding tax, First you have to define some withholding tax codes with the percentages of the amount.
For creating the with holding codes
    go to
    Administration>Setup>Financials>Tax>WithHolding Tax>
    There a create tax code
Now Go to A/P Invoice. Select a vendor and change Itrem/service type to Service
Then give the details of g/l and make WTax Liable to yes. There you can set the with holding tax code that was created. Based on that you can see the Wtax amount in the footer of the form..
When you make the payment to particular vendor it automatically creates ledger entry for with holding tax also..

    Hi,
    You can create the below:-
    (1) Setup the interest calculation indicator for customa arrear
    (2) Then post that interest calculated on the custom account itself (Customizing OBV1). (If the customer is assigned to the WHT code in customer master, system will deduct the WHT on interest to customer.)

    How can I manage this?
I cannot make that customer as Vendor because there are around 1000 customers.

You have to do it via Outgoing payment as Kamlesh Chauhan suggested....

  • Lower deduction of TDS for Vendors

    Dear Experts,
My client requirement is,when the vendor gets an exemption certificate from income tax authority for a certain percentage for a particular Threshold limit  after that the system has to calculate the normal TDS rate.
I have gone through the different thread but could not find the proper solution.
Please guide how to configure the system to calculate TDS for a lower percentage upto the threshold limit...after that normal TDS should apply.
    Regards,
    Venkat.

    Hi,
You can maintain exemption % in vendor master but there is no feature to define the limit and deduct tax as per the limit.
You can meet this requirement by defining formula in the path IMG - FA - FA Global settings - WHT - Extended WHT - Calculation - WHT codes - Define formulas for calculating WHT.
Here you can define the reduced tax rates and exempted amount to be deducted for the tax type & code combination.

  • TDS at lower rates for certian limit

    Hi experts,
Income Tax Department gives vendors certifcate for lower deduction of
tax u/s 197, which is a permission to a payer to deduct NIL Tax or tax
at a lower rate. This permission is generally given for a Financical
Year. However, recently it is seen that these certificates are for a
certain Limit. eg: a vendor is given a certificate u/s 197 upto a limit
of Rs.10,00,000/- for NIL deduction. This means that as soon as the
payment to this vendor crosses Rs.10,00,000/- TDS is to be deducted at
the normal rates. THIS NEEDS TO BE CONFIGURED IN THE SYSTEM so that the
correct TDS is deducted and paid.

    Dear Friend
In current Sap scenario it is not possible to have value cap on the withholding tax.
What we are doing is manually keeping tab on the value cap every month and The user is updated with the available limits. Once the cap is reached, the exemption validity date is changed from 31.03.2008 to the date on which  the last invoice was posted. Any subsequent invoice attracts WT at full rate.
Somewhat cumbersome particularly in year end when most of the limits are reached but cannot help it.
We had suggested some customisation wherein the exemption percentage would be checked with the accumulated tax base amount but the same was rejected based on cost benefit ratio.
Would appreciate if you could think of something new and share the same.

  • Deduction of TDS while clearing Advance payment through F-53

    Hi Gurus,
I deducted TDS on Advance payment of 10000 and then deducted TDS on Invoice of 50000 with base amount as 40000.
Now, when i am clearing this invoice and advance payment through F-53 to pay the remaining balance, system is again deducting TDS on Advance payment.
Please tell me how can i solve this issue.
    Thank You

    hii
here the steps u need to follow is
    1. while making the down payment TDS is deducted
u make down payment through f-48.
    2. post invoice through FB60. here when u r going to the withholding tax tab u need to delete the payment tax codes. if u do not delete than the tax will be deducted during the payment..
    3. now go to F-54 and transfer the advance payment to normal by clearing special G/L
here when u clear the down payment the TDS deducted at he time of down payment will also be reversed.
    4. now finally go to F-53 and make the outstanding payment to your vendor ..
so in this steps there wont be duplication of TDS pain.. u will be paying only once that is at the time of invoice.
    Hope u got ur answer
    assign points..
