Lync 2013 conference call issue

Hi there.
Lync user, PC client... If he is logged on company VPN (soo he connects to LAN) or whether he is joining thru Edge server when we establish 1-to-1 video call it all Works fine, but the problem is when we are an Lync Online Meeting thru Outlook, he is able
to connect to it but he gets immediately disconnected after a couple of seconds (5-10 seconds). We are unable to find out the reason.
One more strange thing.
A collegue of mine have created a Lync Online Meeting on calendar on this day. And when this problematic lync user tries to connect to this conference meeting he gets disconnected (and no event errors... just some warnings with error code 0). Even if
we as presenters connected to that meeting thry to invite him thru lync invite people, the situation is the same.
But if I do a test lync online meeting and send it thru calendar, then on this test meeting he is able to connect.
It seems like this user is unable to connect to meeting which were organized "in the past". Very strange and dont know where to take a look for the root of the problem.
Our configuration:
We have 2 front end servers STD in pool pairing.
One edge pool with two edge serevrs.
And TMGproxy server for meet now links and mobile clients.

  • Lync 2013 Emergency Calling - Including Another User (Conference)

    Hi all
    I am trying to establish if when a user calls an emergency number, a conference call can be initiated from the client side to a security desk / user and include them into the call.
    I know we can initiate IM's and alerts but is it at all possible to get a user into the call?
    Thanks
    Ben

    Hi NeoburnerS,
    When a user makes an emergency call, Lync Server routes the call audio, along with the location and callback information, through a Mediation Server to an E9-1-1 service provider. The E9-1-1 service provider uses the civic address of the caller to route
    the call to the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) that serves the caller's location, and sends along an Emergency Service Query Key (ESQK) that the PSAP uses to look up the caller's ERL.
    In addition, you could post the question on MSDN Lync SDK forum and more developing experts will help to verify if this can be achieved using Lync SDK. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Skype to Join Lync 2013 Conference?

    Hello All
    We have a full Lync 2013 setup including edge services.   We have corporate restrictions against external federation.  We have a SA agreement with Microsoft.
    In the past we had what is now "Skype Connect" before it was a pay service integrated with our SBCs as a telephony provider.  I was quite disappointed to hear that Skype Connect just to satisfy ingress calls will cost me $7/mo per channel
    With all this new integration with Skype, is there a way to provide:
    -Inbound SIP connectivity to an autoattendant
    -Inbound Audio (possibly video in the future) to Conferences
    We have a need for international callers from APNIC who are having quality issues when using the Lync Web App to join conferences
    Thanks!

    Hi and welcome to the Skype Community,
    Best to discuss these questions directly with your Lync contact at Microsoft. Lync (the future "Skype for Business") is the right product for communications in a professional/business environment,

  • Lync 2013 Edge Server Issues

    Forgive me if this question sounds rather "entry level", I have never worked with Lync and this project was handed to me by my boss, who hasn't worked with Lync either.
    I have been reading various posts and forum messages until I went cross eyed about setting up Lync 2013 Edge server correctly.  I am still running into some questions and issues with the Access, Web, and A/V services starting.  Here is my main
    question, and below is my setup.
    Question:
    Is there a need for both an external and internal nic card IF all three external IP's for the external services are programmed at the firewall and router to go directly to 1 internal IP address?
    Setup:
    Currently I have 1 FE-Standard server that also acts as the Mediation Server, and 1 Edge Server both of which are virtual and running Server 2012.  Originally I did have 2 network cards setup, as all other documentation suggested, 1 external and 1 internal.
    However my boss, who setup the DNS/Firewall entries stated to remove the External Card since the external address that was setup for the 3 services was routed to 1 internal address. The Access Services, Web Services, and A/V services are all running on three
    separate ports with their own unique FQDN- 443, 444, and 445.  The cert that was deployed is a wild card cert from GoDaddy, this has been used by other servers that point inside and outside without issues.

    Please help, I am at a loss as to where to go from here.

    Thanks for the quick responses.
    I have re-enabled the external NIC.  All services are running now.  When I ran the Remote Connectivity tester this was the outcome.
    Testing remote connectivity for user: username@domain... to the Microsoft Lync server.
     Specified remote connectivity test(s) to Microsoft Lync server failed. See details below for specific failure reasons.
    Test Steps
    Attempting to resolve the host name lync.metisconnect.com in DNS.
     The host name resolved successfully.
    Additional Details

  • Lync 2013 PSTN calling not working with Sonus SBC 1000 over TLS and SRTP

    Dear All,
    We have recently installed Lync 2013 Enterprise Edition with a Pool of 3 FE Servers (MEDIATION COLLOCATED).
    We need to implement TLS and SRTP with Sonus SBC 1000. However calls are not routing b/w SBC and Lync.
    We are using wild card certificate with multiple SIP Domains as SAN(s), for internal FE servers as well SBC.
    Also i would like to mentioned here that inbound and outbound calls are routing properly when we tested it over TCP.
    When I move to TLS Only calls from Lync to SBC (outgoing) are working without encryption.
    Here are the OCS Logger traces for incoming calls which are not landing on lync:

    @Paul, Thanks for you response.
    All ports / IP Add / DNS are defined properly. Telenet on listening port is working.
    We are using Public Certificate for 3 Domains (wild card) and same is loaded and verified in SBC
    I've not reviewed the OCS logs properly posted above.

  • Alert rule - Lync 2013 MP - Call reliability alert

    We have SCOM 2012 and use Lync 2013 MP to monitor Lync environment. There is an alert in SCOM created by rule Call reliability alert rule from Lync MP. It is generated based on event ID 1122 from Operations Manager event log. In details there is a following
    info:
    The failure happens for the following modalities:
    Media Type = Audio
    Distinct Users Impacted = 2
    Total Calls = 156
    Failed Calls = 2
    Failure Percentage = 1.2820512820500
    This alert is generating quite often but everything is working ok, no problems with Lync. I am wondering how I can tune this rule to not generate alerts so often, only when there is a real problem. E.g. is it possible to generate alert based on the failure
    percentage value (this is a body of event id 1122)?
    I checked override options for this alert rule but not sure what I can do

    Hi
    bbelko
    There is one more collection rules is involved in this process, you can override the values to reduce calll reliability alerts.
    If the value changed then the alerts will reduce based on criteria.
    above mentioned values are default ,  you can set as per your organization.
    check and update the result  here that will useful to others to find.
    Hope you got some info.

  • Lync 2013 Outlook Integration Issues

    I have a client that is having Exchange Outlook Integration issues when trying to set up Lync 2013.
    The email address is [email protected] The sip address is
    [email protected] But the Lync server is lync.domain.local. Client is on Exchange 2010.
    The address book is not downloading and the outlook integration issue error icon appears on the bottom right.
    If the client is set manually to [email protected] the address book downloads.
    But can Lync work in the long run set up like this?

    Hi,
    Did you solve the issue with the help of Andrew provided?
    Which sip domain name did you use for default SIP domain ([email protected] or
    [email protected])?
    Did the issue happen internal or external?
    For the issue of cannot download address book, please check the External Base URL on Lync topology with the help of the link below:

  • Lync 2013 missed calls in outlook

    I have lync 2013 client and server and outlook 2010 , when I received a missed call it show the caller number ( Avaya extension ) not the caller name ( AD display name ) ,
    when I was on lync client 2010 the caller number is translated automatically to caller name .

    I think this is the information that comes via unified contact store from your Outlook contacts. Any
    contact stored in your outlook should display names if the calling number is matched. That is how it works on Lync 2013 client. So, check if that Avaya extension is matched to any of your Outlook contacts, if not enter it in the appropriate contact and make
    a test call, it should not show the name of that contact.

  • Note 4 - Calling waiting/conference call issues

    Is this a defect in the new note? I am in able to end calls when answering a call (i.e. call waiting/conference calls). The other person can hang up but my phone will still say they are on hold. Which on turns holds up my free line.
    I find this rather annoying. Will this problem be corrected in an update?

    Did you get a response on this from Skype?
    Regards
    Bill

  • Lync 2013 Sign in issue on iPhone

    Hi,
    So far I can sign in to the lync server 2013 from PCs . I have only one external ip in my lab environment so after reading about it I decided that the best practice is to assign it to the edge server and change the A/V Web conf ports. It works great from
    computers from outside the network. But whenever i sign in from a mobile device i get the "we can't connect to the server check your network connection and server address" Error. I enable mobile devices from the servers.
    What do you think the problem is ?
    Any help would be appreciated, Thanks :-)

    Have you deployed a reverse proxy server for web services to your front-end server?  The mobile client uses UCWA exclusively for login/signaling and not the edge server.  Mobile only uses the edge server for audio/video call only.
    Thanks,
    Richard

  • Conference call issue

    Not able to add calls while on another call. Anyone else facing the issue. Does anyone have solution for this?

    Hi sizsam.selva,
    Call conference is something that needs to be enabled on the network, I suggest you first give them a call and request that this be enabled on the account.
    Let us know how it goes.

  • Lync Response group call issues

    Hi all,
    I am trying to investigate an issue with incoming calls.
    I would like to know who ended the call. Was it the caller or the callee.
    How can I find this in Lync reports?
    Thanks,

    Here's a query that will need some work, but might help get you there.
    Note that it's currently locked to a date range.  You can modify that.  I'd make a couple of calls to your response group, one where you hang up, and one where you have them hang up on you.
    Run the query.  Find your calls, find the ReferredById number that matches your response group.  In my case it was 10091, so I added the line "and SessionDetails.ReferredById='10091'" just before the "order by".
    Now the query returns your response group calls.  The diagnosticID will help you determine who hung up, or you can just add the VoIPDetails record you found as the join is in the query already.
    select
    (Select UserUri from Users where UserId = SessionDetails.User2Id ) as Caller,
    SessionDetails.DiagnosticId,
    (SELECT PhoneUri FROM Phones WHERE PhoneId = VoipDetails.FromNumberId) as MyFromNumberId,
    (SELECT PhoneUri FROM Phones WHERE PhoneId = VoipDetails.ConnectedNumberId) as ConnectedNumberId,
    (Select UserUri from Users where UserId = SessionDetails.User1Id ) as Agent,
    (Select UserUri from Users where UserId = SessionDetails.ReferredById ) as ResponseGroup,
    (SELECT DATEDIFF(SECOND, SessionDetails.SessionIdTime,SessionDetails.SessionEndTime)) As TalkTime,
    SessionDetails.* from SessionDetails
    LEFT OUTER JOIN dbo.VoipDetails
    ON VoipDetails.SessionIdTime = SessionDetails.SessionIdTime
    AND VoipDetails.SessionIdSeq = SessionDetails.SessionIdSeq
    where SessionDetails.SessionIdTime > '2014-10-08' and SessionDetails.SessionIdTime < '2014-10-10'
    order by SessionIdTime

  • Lync 2013 - Internal Call with net traffic send to AV Public IP

    Hello
    Firstly brief description of topology:
    - Each user is in respective Site, both networks are internal to our Lync topology
    - When User A calls (audio only) User B, call is working with no problems, however i can see in network logs that User B at the beginning of the call is sending below traffic to Edge server Public IP.
    Client IP
    Dest. IP
    Dest Port
    192.168.34.98
    av.domain.com Public IP

    192.168.34.98
    av.domain.com Public IP
    TCP

    Can you Please tell me if that is correct and if not how to track why its like that ?
    - call is working peer-to-peer
    - Similar traffic to Public AV IP appears also if User A calls Peer in the same network.
    Looking at Candidates sent by User A:

    Ports between Users subnets are open as well as to Edge Internal Interface.
    Any tips to isolate it a bit more ? I'll provide more info as required.
    Thank You

    I appreciate your response.
    The first one i already know and in fact it creates my doubt:
    i can find there:  "Within these traces will often be connection attempts to every single IP address provided in the candidate list, including the relay and reflexive candidates"
     According to this sentence my behavior is correct as AV Public IP is in candidates list. Thing is if it should be there in candidates. Based on article i understand that ICE is done on Edge server. Based on  great presentations of Thomas Binder
    here  "clients for ICE part are always connecting to Edge", ( as at the moment of call peer is not aware of remote peer location )
    In my case on Edge there is nothing about my call in contrast to FE where i have all ICE work in SIP logs.
    Simply:
    For internal p2p calls - ICE is done on FrondEnd or Edge ?
    For internal p2p calls - should AV Public IP be included in candidates ?
    Second link doesn't help to answer that question either :( as focuses on ext - int call scenario )
    I believe i am missing some basics here. Thank You & Regards

  • Lync 2013 call forwarding (working and non-working scenario)

    Hi guys!
    We are trying to solve a non-working scenario in Lync 2013 voip calling.
    SCENARIO 1 that does not work:
    Person A with a mobile phone calls Person B who's telephone number is not located on Lync SIP TRUNK. Person B answers the call and then he wishes to transfer this call to Person C. He call Person C until he hears call ringing tone from him
    and then he transfer this call to him. When Person C answer the call he does not hear Person A and call get's disconnected after cca. 20seconds.
    SCENARIO 2 that does work:
    Person A with a mobile phone calls Person B who's telephone number is not located on Lync SIP TRUNK. Person B wishes to transfer this call to Person C who's number is located on Lync SIP trunk. In this scenario he first wait that Person C
    answer/accept his call, then he transfer call from Person A to him. This way Person C is able to hear Person A.
    Anyway how to figure it out if this is a problem on provider side or on Lync 2013 server side?
    with best regards,
    bostjanc

    Refer support wasn't set to none.
    If we change it to none, and restart Mediation service, unfortunatelly there are no differences.
    We have also tried editing: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Lync Server 2013\Mediation Server\MediationServerSvc.exe.config
    FROM:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <configuration>
      <runtime>
        <generatePublisherEvidence enabled="false"/>
      </runtime>
    </configuration>
    TO:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <configuration>
    <appSettings>
                    <add key="20.20.20.20.ReferredBySupported" value="true"/>
        </appSettings>
      <runtime>
        <generatePublisherEvidence enabled="false"/>
      </runtime>
    </configuration>
    But that didn't do anything useful.
